Hi all, Mod R again.
Sweep of the Heart will be the 5th full-sized novel in the Innkeeper Chronicles series. It is currently being released as a weekly serial, and will be published as a book in all the usual formats (including audiobook) after it’s finalised on the blog and goes through edits. There is no official release date yet.
You’ve indicated in the comments that you would benefit from a reminder of our cast of characters. This is a companion post to the one with all the delegations and their candidates, which have not been included again below. I heartily encourage rereads if you feel very lost, as most of these characters have been introduced in previous books and have rich back stories. Here are all the chapters of SotH from the start and here for all the previous Innkeeper releases.

This isn’t an exhaustive list of all the details about the characters, just an aide-mémoire in alphabetical order for quick reference. I’m in the comments if you need further details.
There are spoilers ahead so do not read if you’re not following up with the weekly serial.

Thank you.
Helen is in the Edge mother of Declan Camarine.
No, she is not 🙂 . Declan’s mother is Lady Jane Olivia Camarine, Duchess of the Southern Provinces.
We are also discussing Sweep of the Heart characters here, even *if* there was a name coincidence, I fail to see the relevance?
Declan’s sister were named after her Grandmother Helen , I think. Its may be some sort of connection. Declan’s Mother is from broken and i always wondered why Klous was in Weird and why exactly he recruited George .
Ok, I think there is a misunderstanding here.
Whilst The Edge series and the Innkeeper Chronicle series share 4 characters due to the nature of the Arbitrators and the Inns, they are set in different worlds.
The inns are not in the Broken, Inn Earth is in a parallel reality to Edge Earth.
The only characters in common are: George, Jack, Gaston and Sophie (Lark). That is it.
You are very much mixing up the rest. Declan’s sister is not named after her grandmother Helen, which she doesn’t have. Nor is she named Helen. Declan’s mother is not from the Broken.
Klaus recruited George because he is an Arbitrator who can travel all over the Universe and its many realities, and George had been the head of the Weird’s secret counterespionage agency for years and a master at manipulating people and events.
“Never get involved in a land war in Asia, Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line”…and never question Mod R’s encyclopedic knowledge of HA books and worlds! 😂 Also, thank you for this post Mod R: very helpful!
(P.S.: the quote is from Princess Bride if anyone did not catch that and is wondering)
Inconceivable 😉
Very, very true.🙂
Sophie is Queen of Harriblex??? What did I miss?
Chapter 9 Part 2 🙂 https://www.ilona-andrews.com/2022/chapter-9-part-2-2/
Thanks so much. I must have read that chapter when I was half asleep or ??
I just re-read “Bayou Moon” and it was great to pull the last threads of that relationship in the Edge series together.
Declan’s sister is named Maud. She is not the same Maud as in the InnKeeper series.
Correct. They are different characters, many books apart 🙂
I know you say that, and I repeat it but I guess on this I’m Team FBD because a very small part of me is still hoping they are all connected😅
Even Dina straight up telling George that his world is in a different dimension cannot pluck the weed of hope out of me.
I must admit, I kind of thought they might be more linking to happen as I wondered if Dina’s parents’ inn opened a door to a parallel dimension like the weird and since that’s not possible, the inns boundaries merged into the weird with a higher magic field..
Oooooo …..
That’s an interesting hypothesis!
Thank you!
Very helpful, thank you! (Now I’m reminded of the Sphinx, I need to go back and re-read the beginning of this story…)
This is so helpful! Thank you!
I have this and the Delegations & Candidates bookmarked for future posts as reference!
Somehow I missed that the corrupted Ad Hal that Dina, Sean and Karat destroyed was the same one that kidnapped Wilmos! There must be more holding Wilmos right? i guess i assumed that Ad Hal were few and far between but makes sense that there would be a bunch of them so in turn a number of them that are corrupted.
He had Wilmos’ hair and Dina wanted to learn more, however the werewolf ruined that chance by initiating the fight before communication could be established.
Ah that makes total sense – I had totally forgotten that! Thanks!
Forgot to welcome you back, Mod R.! Hope your time away was rejuvenating.
😊 Thank you!
Very, very helpful – thank you! While I’ve read all the previous stories, I have trouble remembering the less active characters from week to week. My tired old brain will find this extremely useful.
You are not alone SF.
Why does it list Caldenia as Brother/Uncle assassin on her nephew’s character description and not on her own?
I guess I should have said Brother/Father assassin, but I was thinking nephew and typed the wrong word. Lol
I add to Tony “adores Orro’s cooking.” This is lovely. Another good reference for the assorted characters. Thanks. Mod R.
Yes, there are a lot of details about the characters I haven’t included, as specified this is a brief refresher. The fact that he loves Orro’s cooking would not help anyone place him, as who doesn’t? Orro’s cooking is yum!
Exactly. *Everyone* adores the cooking of a Red Cleaver Chef!
Where is lady Wexyn????? I think you missed a few!
“This is a companion post to the one with all the delegations and their candidates, which have not been included again below.”
Lady Wexyn, the rest of the candidates and their delegations are included in the companion post linked above and here https://ilona-andrews.com/2022/intergalactic-bachelor-the-reckoning/
When you see red underlined text in a blog post, it is a link that can be followed 🙂.
Hope this helps.
Oooh, thank you for this delicious treat but now I will not sleep 🙂
Too many questions …
If Cumbr Adgi is there and his father is pirate king why would he shoot on inn and kill him? Is there son/father fight?
And how the pirates found out about Kolinda?
Was the name of the planet mentioned in the Bachelor feed or somebody gave them secret info?
+1
ModR, you are the BEST. This is awesome. Soooo helpful.
My personal favorite is the description of the werewolf woman: ” . . . and gets in Dina and Sean’s way a lot.”
+1 (and thank you!)
I secretly believe Werewolf Woman is also………..dun dun dun………..! Wilmos secret daughter- why else is she so persistent and ….” in Dina & Sean’s way alot”
That’s a very popular fan theory! Can’t wait to see if it’s right 🙂
Thanks for the reminders. They are helpful when series get longer.
I am sure someone else will ask this while I am typing. (I am slow.) My apologies.
Is there significance to the different spellings of “Magran / Maggran” in the titles of Caldenia and Kosandian?
I am guessing it’s just a difference that will be taken care of in editing – Or it could be none of our business. HA can be sneaky will clues.
It is not an error, editing or otherwise, they have different forms to their titles 🙂 .
They are gender specific, like the LeterE/LeterO distinction.
The full titles are:
Caldenia: ka ret Magren, Letere Olivione, Dystim Adrolo, She Who Controls Fate, the Light of the Midnight Sun
Kosandion: ka ret Maggran, Letero Kolivion, Dystim Arbiento, He Who Is Immune to Fate, the Light of the Morning Sun.
Love the ” she who controls fate” Vs “He who is Immune to Fate” Think there is a hint there but i’m not smart enough to figure it out.
Hi, ModR,
Question about the titles — who picks the “She Who . . ” and “He Who . . .” parts of the titles? In other words, did Caledenia pick that for herself or was it given to her? And if so, by whom? Are they earned titles?
Kosandian’s “He Who is Immune to Fate . . .” seems to a response to Caldenia’s “She Who Controls Fate . . .” — rather like “Oh yeah? Well you may control fate, but I am immune to the fate you control!” It seems a little one-upmanship-ish. For instance, if these were given did someone think that it would be better if Kosandian was immune to fate rather than controlling it? Maybe I’m reading the wrong tone into it.
Thanks!
I asked Ilona and the titles are hereditary 🙂
Thanks for asking and pass along my thanks to the cool authors who answer questions like this.
Oh, well that explains both of their sunny dispositions 🙂
Thanks.
I had not considered that reason. Even in English, that sort of thing shows up in words that have been around for a while. (For some reason, all the examples I can think of are animals – duck / drake, ewe / ram, etc.)
I guess I am too used to o/a, er/ess and the like.
You forgot Arland’s kill count of two hundred and twenty-four!
Again, as specified in the post, I have not included all the details about a character as a choice 🙂 , this is a brief refresher of who everyone is. If you recognised Arland enough to place his kill count, mission was achieved 🙂
Thanks, Mod R! Always good to review 😀
For George you are saying Sophie’s consort but Sophie is listed as George’s wife. Not fair! 😛
Also how is Gaston cousin by marriage to George and Jack? Gaston’s cousin sister i.e. Sophie’s elder sister’s husband and George/Jack’s brother in law friends right, not brother (forgot the sisters’ name)? Moreover if George and Sophie are now married then doesn’t it make Gaston some n-th removed brother in law of George? Not sure what the relationship between Jack and Gaston then. Too difficult to contemplate?
I believe that Gaston and Sophie both belong to the Mar clan and are cousins.
Because the spouse of a ruling monarch is called a consort but the reigning queen is not a consort to her non-ruling husband.
Gaston is Sophie Mar’s cousin. She is married to George= Gaston is his cousin by marriage.
or if you want to go the long way: William was adopted by Declan’s uncle, making him and Declan cousins. William is married to Cerise, Gaston’s cousin. George and Jack are adopted Camarines.
Thank you Mod R! Excluding House Andrews, you are the best!! 😁😁
The spouse of a ruling monarch could be another monarch, though I’m not sure if it is necessary they rule the same country? When the spouse is not a monarch, they’re usually a consort. I think George has his own titles as a Camarine?
Real life example of similar hierarchy is Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Consort Philip Mountbatten. Queen Elizabeth II hierarchy is at the top. Had she passed while Prince Philip was alive, the title would not go to Prince Philip due to laws of succession https://www.rd.com/article/reason-prince-phillip-isnt-king-england/. The rules do differ if the reigning monarch is a man vs woman. If I understand correctly, this also means his son Prince Charles had a higher title at his birth than the father, Philip Mountbatten, the Duke of Edinburgh until Philip was granted a UK title of Prince in 1957, though Philip was a Prince of Greece and Denmark at his birth.
Succession laws do differ. Japan, for example, currently does not allow for a woman to inherit and when a royal female marries a non-royal, she must give up her royal title. This makes 15 year old Prince Hisahito the only potential inheritor who is likely to produce a future emperor based on age unless the laws are revised. Talk about pressure.
Thank you!
Can I suggest that Sean deserves something with more impact than “boyfriend”? At the very least significant other and partner innkeeper
“They needed a folk hero in the worst way, and my boyfriend proved to be irresistible.” It is how Dina herself refers to him in Chapter 1 🙂 https://www.ilona-andrews.com/2021/happy-holidays-4/
Dear Mod R,
As a Texan of 35+ years, this is like watching a shoot out at the OK corral.
Reader: [Question]????
Mod R: [Kachowkerchinkzing] Snappy anwer with all the detailed facts.
and repeat, and repeat.
Damn, I tip my Stetson with two fingers to you, ma’am….
+1000! 🤠
-fellow Texan
Thank you!
Hey! There is a name missing: Sebastian North 🙂
As soon as you bring me the link to a Sebastien North reference in Sweep of the Heart, I will add it 🙂
In book 3, One Fell Sweep, when Dina asked the Archivarius her question: “How can I find my parents?” he responded with:
SEBASTIEN NORTH
Who this is we do not know.
I am aware, however how does this reflect on an index of characters from Sweep of the Heart? 🙂
Curse you!!! I somehow missed that there were crossover characters from the Edge series. It’s been years since I read those (2012?!), and now I’ll have to go back and re-read!
The horror!
I’ve decided to wait thé book to read this novel but it’s soooo hard not to look a little bit “just for see”
Whew, I was getting confused. Thanks for the synopsis!
Thank you so much!
Where is the story how Sophie (Lark) became Queen of Harriblex?
Chapter 9 Part 2 https://www.ilona-andrews.com/2022/chapter-9-part-2-2/
I have read and re read all the House Andrews books. ( my favourite authors of all time ). I adore the Innkeepers but for the first time EVER I am struggling to visualise and take in all the information… this never happens to me with ‘House Andrews’ books … help !!!!!!!
Not all books are for everyone 🙂. Maybe you will have an easier time when it’s released as a book and you can read it all in one, without the weekly breaks, or maybe you sit one out.
None of the books (or any of their formats) are mandatory.
Bite your tongue, Mod R! 😉
I was having the same problem, Lilypod. Finally I got so lost about who is who that I decided to go back to the beginning and read through all the posts…
and presto, just as Mod R suggested, when I read it all together, it’s much easier to track who is who!
That’s what I did with Sweep of the Blade. Every 6 releases or so I d go back to the beginning and read the whole thing. That helped a lot to keep track of things!
Ditto
Thanks!
Have we ever found out how the ad hal were corrupted or who corrupted them?
Not yet, but we are getting close according to House Andrews 🙂
Hi ModR
Will this be printed in the print version of SotH? Once again, thank you so much for the information you provide.
The list of characters? No 🙂
I’m sorry, I’m just not remembering the undercover pirate spy so clearly. Could you provide a few more descriptive details? (Yes, this was an underhanded attempt to get Mod R to out the undercover pirate. I really need this fictional character to suffer.)
Smooth 🤣
Wait, I missed something. Sophie/Lark is a queen?
Yes 😊! The story is in Chapter 9 here https://www.ilona-andrews.com/2022/chapter-9-part-2-2/
Thank you, Mod R! This was very helpful. My memory isn’t what it used to be…
Mod R this is for you; 👏👏👏👏👏👏🤯
That last emoji was my exploding with all this information (plus all the work I did today). 🤣🤣🤣
I forgot that there was a Tomato in the mix. Not enough screen time, I guess 😉
Where are we told that Jack and Gaston became former Arbitrators?
Chapter 9 part 2 🙂- George is semi retired and Jack and Gaston were part of his team.
Jack is living in wilderness on Harriblex and wants to do so for a couple of years and Gaston is being privately paid by George to be at Gertrude Hunt for the spouse event and thinking of opening a shop in Baha-char once it’s over https://www.ilona-andrews.com/2022/chapter-9-part-2-2/
If George needs them, he can call on them.
Thank you, Mod R!!!! This list and the list of candidates/delegations have been extremely helpful. I actually went back and reread SotH from the beginning as part of my rest this past weekend. That then sparked me rereading all of the Innkeeper novels (I’m at One Fell Sweep). Sweep in Peace had so many characters but Sweep of the Heart definitely has it beat.
I really hope one day HA books can be turned into animated movies. I’d love to see Kolinda and so many other settings that have been described. The world building is top notch
You mention that Gaston and Jack are former Arbitrators. I thought they had to serve 20 years? Are they on some kind of special leave?
Chapter 9 Part 2 😅 https://www.ilona-andrews.com/2022/chapter-9-part-2-2/ which apparently everyone has missed heh.
Sophie has negotiated George out of his Arbitrator contract, he remains in duty for 4 months out of the year, on missions she approves of. Jack and Gaston were in his team and atm are doing their own thing, in Gaston’s words they are “free agents”.
George is privately paying Gaston to be at the Inn during the spouse selection event and then he is thinking of opening a shop in Baha-char. Jack is living somewhere on Harriblex, away from people, and plans to do it for a few years.
If George needs them, I’m sure he can call on them and they would respond. Can you imagine Jack leaving his brother to face danger alone? Not likely 😅
When you see the whole list on one page it’s pretty darned impressive. Healthy worlds – even fictional healthy worlds – grow!
It just never sunk in that Gaston is a former Arbitrator. The thought of him loose is mind boggling. He certainly has come a long way. Since George is only a part time Arbitrator now. does he not have helpers for his work, or do Jack and Gaston come along for 4 months and the go play when he is consort ing. That doesn’t look right but anyway. So George is the only one now an Arbitrator. This Innkeeper shows how things change over time. Do we have any idea how long George was an Arbitrator ? It can’t have been too long as his first case was the peace on Nexus. Sometimes you truly need a program to know the characters.
George is semi-retired, working as an Arbitrator for 4 months of the year and on missions Sophie approves of.
If he needs Gaston and Jack, he can call on them 🙂. They were never Arbitrators in their own right, but part of his team, atm they are free to do whatever they want.
Time in the Universe is a curious and relative thing- for example Sean experienced it differently on Nexus than Dina back on Earth, several years passed for him by comparison to her few months. As an Arbitrator, George travels the Universe and even parallel realities. So we cannot know exactly how long George and his team spent in the role just by looking at the time gone by on Earth.
Reading this a few things occur to me: 1) I think Olasard is the perfect name for a cat, because if anything on earth could rip souls it would be a cat. 2) I want Dina and Sean to find a girlfriend for Gorvar so they can have puppies. I hate the idea of the wolves of Auul becoming extinct. 3) Is it weird that whenever an otrokar shows up I’m happy that they’re in the story? They may be Hope Crushers but I really like them. So weird???
I love the Hope Crushing Horde too! If that’s weird, we can be weird together 🤗 . Winter sun to us!
Also, there is a fandom romantic pairing suggestion going around for Gorvar and Beast 😂- have to say I’m not convinced but we shall see.
That’s how all of us became the Book Devouring Horde. We just took the Hope Crushing Horde’s name and reworded it. So, I like to think all of us are an off shoot of the Hope Crushing Horde. 😁
I would love it if Gorvar found a girlfriend and made more beautiful Auul wolf puppies too!!
Thank you! Mod R
So helpful.
Cool. Thank you!
I will just be over here giggling in delight over “wise elder of the philosophical space chickens”. What a title!
Mindblowing amount of information, Mod R, thank you so so so much!
Also, me reading the list and comments and deciding, without rereading, that Tomato must be one of the assassins because they are so forgettable 🙂
Also also, I strongly recommend the Graphic Audio versions of the Innkeeper series!! I just got Clean Sweep, and literally couldn’t stop listening. I had to rewind a few times when annoying people tried to talk to me, but I spent Sunday back in that book. I’ve read it a couple hundred times, but it was so gripping this way. Can’t wait for my next credit to keep acquiring!!
Oh, I definitely can remember everyone here! I had a bit of trouble in the beginning with the contestants before they started doing things, but now I know all of them too.
I’ve always loved how I can keep the characters straight in their writing. If someone can’t remember george and jack and nuan cee, they definitely need a reread!
That’s what I’m talking about! 😉
This list is a great help, Thanks.❣️
I don’t remember if we ever found out what SN on Olasard’s collar means. Will there be more on this in this book?🐱
We’ll have to read on and see 🙂
I got the idea to reread all the available chapters in a row to try and get the foreshadowing (I didn’t, haha) and refresh my memory of story. It’s great to do and I was wondering if it wouldn’t end up as a full novel given we still have to rescue Wilmos! I love the innkeeper books. I’m here for the food and the vampires, 😂👏
It’s confirmed, a full length novel 🙂 https://ilona-andrews.com/2022/chapter-11-part-2/
Well that about does it, unless we get into a lot of side characters
These are *all* the characters (+ some non-character name of places for reference) that have appeared in Sweep of the Heart, minor or major, side or barely mentioned.
Thank you Mod R for helping keep the BDH on track! We get into enough mischief when we have the correct information. Letting us get loose with “Alternate Facts” would be disastrous. :). Did we ever find out what happened to the protestors that Officer Marais reported? I think Sean “dealt with them”, but I don’t remember how. Thank you for your kindness and diligence.
That situation has been resolved off-page 🙂
Thanks Mod R!
Will this post and the ones about the delegations be available when SotH is published? Or will the posts go away like with Blood Heir?
Fuzzy brain: Where the BH posts what prompted that hilariously accurate tea party description of HL, Innkeeper & KD fans? 😂
The delegation pictures and descriptions are so wonderful and extremely helpful. Is there a way to save them ?
I don’t think the fate of the recap or poll posts has been decided yet, but I doubt they will be necessary once the book is published.
The tea party probably had a more general inspiration source hehe, not specific blog posts :D.
So I just completed a SotH re-read over the weekend and was thinking about the female werewolf and what we might have missed (since ModR said there was something). Not sure if someone else already posted about this, and I’m certainly not sure this is it, but… it looks to me like that B**** left Gorvar to die! First we see of her, she’s at the inn to tell Sean that Wilmos is missing. She had to have gone by his shop, right? Later when we go there, we find Gorvar barely hanging on. If this female werewolf actually cared about Wilmos or Auul for that matter, she wouldn’t have just left him there. Not cool, man. Not cool.
By the way, thank you ModR for this post and all that you do. I’ve “stalked” this blog for awhile now, but this is my first post. Oh and HA rules (obviously) 😜
Welcome to the comment section 😊!
That isn’t the foreshadowing I was referring to, but it’s a very good point I hadn’t considered and I don’t remember anyone mentioning before!
Well, shoot. Now, I’ll have to re-read it again. Woe is me 🤪
Maybe the female werewolf could get in. Sean had to use a long code to open the door to Wilmos’ shop.
I mean could NOT get in.
True! And he probably looked dead at a brief look
My impression was that she was way more interested in seducing Sean with warrior questing than any actual concern about Wilmos & Gorvar. Her comments were much more laced with challenge and shaming based on his relationship with Wilmos vs her own actual worries and connection to W. I would imagine Sean & Dina both might be more quick to respond we’re she to have come cleanly with “can you (both) help me? This terrible thing HS happened to W!” Rather than her challenge which initially made Sean delay (with yummy cake!) before engaging directly with Dina. Then later WW (werewolf woman) does more trying to out-werewolf Dina (pointless, Dina is aware & completely at ease with not being a werewolf!) all still, in my opinion, aimed at convincing Sean of her own awesomeness (& repeatedly not succeeding!!)
Thank you! This was very helpful, I can’t keep track from week to week. I figured I’d just read the finished book. Also, I never thought Jack or Gaston were Arbitrators.
They were Arbitrator crew, in George’s team 🙂.
thank you Mod R for your help! this was a very refreshing and succinct overview
Thank you for creating this, Mod R!
Somehow when I hear that George is tied to being tied to the arbiters for 4 months of the year I can’t but help thinking of Persephone and Hades.
Although I admit that seeing George as the bringer of spring is a stretch.
Thank you very much for the information and for your patience in answering the Mod R questions!
What is the “Thoas part” in Gaston’s description?
If George isn’t a shifter like Jack, does that mean they’re half-brothers?
And sorry to ask, about Lord Soren, but I’ve always wanted to know if he’s a widower, as I’ve never seen comments about any apparitions of his wife, just her name.
The Thoas are swamp creatures from the Edge series, the mysterious elder species of the bayou where Gaston and Sophie’s extended family live. They are humanoid, with grey skin, sharp teeth, stocky and wide. They have a fascination with the moon.
Gaston’s father, Urow, is half Thoas and Gaston has inherited some of the genetics- such as his short stature, wide shoulders, and silver grey eyes.
George’s father does claim in Steel’s Edge that he is not Jack’s father, but he’s trying to hurt them at the time and he is a sadistic *four letter word* so we do not know for sure. The three of them (two boys and Rose) never even consider it and certainly do not let it come between them, which means it doesn’t really matter. Their sister Rose doesn’t have the necromancer magic either, so it might simply present unpredictably.
I’ll ask for explicit confirmation about Lord Soren being a widower, but that’s the assumption I’ve been operating with too 😊. We know her name is Alamide from Karat’s introduction, but even she usually just calls herself “daughter of Soren”.
Thank you very very much Mod R😘, in my country the series “The Edger” (sorry if I got the name wrong😳) doesn’t even have the first book translated/published, so I only know a little about the characters thanks to the wonderful posts here❤ and the blessed Google Translate 😂
hi, I thought that once an arbitrator
you need to work for 20 years. How can George be semi retired and are Gaston and Jack still working for /with George? Can they just quit?
Chapter 9 Part 2 https://ilona-andrews.com/2022/chapter-9-part-2-2/ George was released from his contract
oops, just read all the comments and found my answer, thanks Mod r for this and all your grand work.
Uh… Here we are working on Book Six (?) of the Innkeeper series and I’m only now realizing that ALL THIS TIME my brain has been turning Caldenia’s title from “Letere Olivione” into “Letere OBLIVION” – because it seemed to my mental processes “oblivion” was an appropriate title for an assassin. I even remember being brought up short the first time I read it because it seemed so spot on that it struck me as almost impolite. Sometimes the mind works in mysterious ways.
Also, I haven’t read the Edge series in almost a decade and only recently splurged on buying all of the books for my e-reader so I can refresh my memory. My eyes can’t read dead-tree formats anymore. 🙁 But right this minute I’m re-reading the Kate Daniel series, as it’s been a while since I’ve read the first six or seven of those, too. I love to re-read, but after a dozen or two re-reads, it’s harder to keep interested, because you absolutely KNOW what’s happening on the next page. So right now Derek is in bad shape from the beating he took from the Reapers and Kate and Jim are about to violate Curran’s First Law. And Saiman just volunteered to fight. I remember how that plays out….
George still works as an Arbitrator…so why are Jack and Gaston listed or described as “former Arbitrator crew”? I would think George would need their help when he works his Projects/Assignments.
If he needs them, he can call on them, however they are free to do whatever they want at this point. They are free agents, with plans for the future.
“Jack is on Harriblex somewhere,” Gaston answered.[…] I asked him what he wanted to do with his downtime, and he told me he would get a house in the woods and not see anyone for a couple of years.” […]
“And you?” I asked.
“As they say, somebody must make the doughnuts. I’ve been a spy, a gentleman of adventure, and occasional assassin, and now I am a free agent. George is paying me a hefty sum to help you with this affair. Once that’s done with, who knows? Perhaps I’ll open a shop at Baha-char next to that old werewolf we all are trying to save.”

I just had this vision of the innkeeper BDH sitting around the teapot and aebleskivers gossiping about who is who, whose room was using extra power last night, and whom they think should be dating. Or weddings.
Definitely weddings, plural 😂
Coffee or mulled wine (gloegg) is better with aebleskiver than tea. 😘 ☕️
Coffee would work. Then again, so would the mulled wine. Both go very well with gossip.
Thanks, this is super helpful!
Somehow, I missed Tomato. Must re-read! Thanks for the list.
So, corrupted and dismembered dolls washing up on Texas shores! Get out NOW, house Andrews!!
Tomato? Hmmm guess I just need to reread all the chapters again.
Welcome back ModR! 😊
I just finished re-reading all the the SotH chapters so your posting was perfect timing! I actually knew who everyone was (except Tomato – confess I totally forgot about him) because of the re-read.
Thanks for all the work you do to inform us, answer our questions and, most important, keep us in line! 😘
There was a video Q&A last year (December?) where Ilona and Gordon said that the next Innkeeper book would probably be the final one. We’re so far into this one now. Does this mean we’ll never find out what happened to Dina’s parents? Or if Maud is really an Ad-Hal? Or if Dina is? So many questions left!
“Probably”
No official announcement has been made.
Gotcha
Hi, Mod R!
Did we ever find out what a “standard” year is? The arbitrators have to serve for 20 standard years and I was wondering if that time is the same as 20 Earth years
I will add it to the list 🙂
Thank you!
Ok did I miss a short story or book about how Sophie became Queen of Harriblex?
It’s in Chapter 9 Part 2! here 😊 https://www.ilona-andrews.com/2022/chapter-9-part-2-2/
I have always waited for Innkeeper to be published, but when I accidentally saw Sophie a Queen and George her Consort I could not resist the temptation to read the how’s and why’s. Now I’m caught up and regret it because I’m too impatient! It’s a good story, hilarious and mindful at the same time. HA are truly brilliant.
Love it! Thanks ModR! The one piece of info I’d forgotten was Droplett’s specialty, rather than being another sou chef!
Wow! Totally didn’t clue in about George, Gaston, Jack and Lark. Awesome!!!
2st one
I’m so hoping that Dina and the unnamed female werewolf goes at it one on one. Dina will so put her in her place.
Go get some brown bear love at Brooks Fall, Alaska at explore.org. Bears fishing for salmon and seeing moms with cubs should add a little cheer to a sucky day.
Cumbr Adgi is on the list, and Pivor of the Murder Birds is not. Not subtle.
This is a companion post to the one with all the delegations and their candidates, which have not been included again below.
Mary, none of the delegations or their candidates are on this list 🙂.
As I’ve indicated in the beginning, I’ve detailed them in a separate post https://ilona-andrews.com/2022/intergalactic-bachelor-the-reckoning/
