The first draft of WILDFIRE is done and sent to the editor. It clocked at a respectable 98,000 words. 🙂 Super happy with that.
Now the nothing begins. 😛 This morning we are flooded and I’m learning how to draw space in photoshop. Spaaaaaace! I quite like my first attempt to follow the tutorial. It’s a bit empty, but it has many purty colors.
If I owe you a mailing, we’ll get to it once the rain water recedes.

In all seriousness, although I am always greedy for new stories by the writers that I love, I do realize that you are people first. Like all of us, you need the time and mental space to care for yourselves and your family (both human and furry). I don’t want you running yourself into the ground, so you end up sick, exhausted, and burned out. I want you happy and healthy and living a long, long time, which I’m fairly certain will mean more wonderful books for me in the long run. 🙂

We’re flooded, too, so I feel your pain. We have about an inch of ground water in our basement due to heavy rains. We’ve decided to call it the ‘river runs through’, as it bubbles up from the french drain in the stairwell outside the basement door, seeps under the door, then meanders it’s way to the floor drain halfway across the basement.
