GODS AND ENDS is out today. This is the third book in Ordinary Magic series.
Synopsis from Amazon.
Return to national bestseller Devon Monk’s exciting Ordinary Magic series.
Keep your gods close and your monsters closer…
Police Chief Delaney Reed thinks she knows all of Ordinary, Oregon’s secrets. Gods on vacation, lovelorn ghosts, friendly neighborhood monsters? Check.
But some secrets run deeper than even she knows. To take down an ancient vampire hell-bent on revenge, she will have to make the hardest decision of her life: give up the book of dark magic that can destroy them all, or surrender her mortal soul.
As she weighs her options, Delaney discovers she can no longer tell the difference between allies keeping secrets and enemies telling the truth. Questioning loyalties and running out of time, Delaney must choose sides before a kidnapping turns into murder, before rival crochet and knit gangs start a war, and before the full moon rises to signal the beginning of Ordinary’s end.
Ta-daa! It’s a fun series. Devon is a friend, so I am biased. I really enjoy her writing, and as always, due to the fact that your mileage may vary, I recommend downloading a sample. I have a feeling you’ll be hooked.
LCG says
Thank you, I looked on her website the other day and saw nothing! Now purchased.

Thank you for the heads up. You are a good friend! ?
Kim says
Squee!!! I really enjoy this series and had no idea this was coming out today! Thank you so much for promoting it!
Maria says
Oh brilliant!! thank you for the pointer. I had completely missed this release… this should help tide me over until the 30th!!
Rena says
I bought a couple of hers that looked interesting for the next time I want to try a new author. I will bump her up my read list with the recommendation.
Tink says
Thanks for letting us know! I started the series when you first posted about it, and then I moved on to her other books. I don’t usually find out about new releases until they pop up in my Kindle, when can sometimes take a month or two to show up, so I’m glad you let me know now.
Perhaps you or Gordon need to write up a “Promotions 101” page. 😛
Linda says
Thank you for telling us about this. I loved the first two books in this series and have been waiting for the third, but there has been no sign it was coming out.
I have now purchased it. Thanks again.
Marna says
I’ve been waiting for this book! I just checked a few days ago, & nobody had any listings for it & now it’s for sale? Very strange.
Corrina says
I love this series! I’m so excited to be off today so I can just read. 🙂
Lauren in CA says
Thanks! I recently inhaled all of Jeaniene Frost’s books because I saw you were doing a signing with her. I needed a new author to keep me busy until the 30th!
Bea says
Thanks Ilona, I enjoyed the first two of the series 🙂 Ordering this now 🙂
AngelMercury says
Oh nice. I read the 2nd book maybe a month ago, it’s a cute series. Will have to grab this one. Will help fill the days left before Wildfire 🙂
Di says
The girl on the cover looks EXACTLY like the prime minister’s love interest in LOVE ACTUALLY. lol
Lindrine says
I really enjoyed the premise of the first book but felt kinda “meh” about some of the scenarios. I grew up in a small town where a close family member had a central role in the community and some of it just kinda fell flat with me. Overall I like her writing and am interested to see how the rest of the series turns out. 3
Sharon says
Rival crochet and knit gangs? Definitely checking this out. Thanks!
Leigh Ann Parente says
That’s exactly what caught my attention.
Knitters, of course, would have an edge: two needles, one for each hand. And the circus could act as a garrote.
MaraDarling says
Yes! It made me chuckle then I read Ilona’s “you’ll be hooked” and said “Oh I see what you did there!”
ClaireC says
Exactly my response! Think of the damage a set of tiny metal DPNs could do. Or those 14″ metal straights from your granny!
Tink says
And this just in (i.e., I saw it on Ilona’s FB or Twitter – I already forgot!)… Expanded snippet of a previous White Hot snippet Ilona gave us: http://happyeverafter.usatoday.com/2017/05/15/white-hot-excerpt-ilona-andrews/
15 days out! Whoohoo!
Heymoemoee says
Thank you for that! It was longer than the last one I read!
Rena says
Awesome, thanks for the new snippet.
Lee says
Ohhhhhhhhh. Thank you!!!
Lauren in CA says
Ohhh, thank you for sharing!
Sh_Lychee says
Loved it. That will tide me over until end of the month.
Monique says
Is it only on kindle? I’m searching everywhere for the actual book, and can’t find it.
Tink says
The paperback will probably follow later. I think she’s self-publishing this, so she’s probably dependent on whomever is doing her print run.
LynneW says
I emailed the author and she says Book #3 should be available for purchase in paperback format by Monday, May 22nd.
It may be earlier but that’s the targeted date.
Laurence says
Thank you very much for the heads up! I love the idea of the serie amd habe overall enjoyed reading it although some of what has happened felt out of character (tstl heroine doesn’t go hand in hand with seasoned cop).
I’ll read this one with pleasure! And I’ll see if my mileage stops here ?.
Have a great day
Twiser says
I love Devon Monk. ALL her series! Been waiting for this one. Ordinary is so different and the characters are great.
But what I’m really jones’n for is White Hot and Wildfire!!!
Ama says
Thank Goodness! Been so dissapointed by my finds at the digital library and need some new reading material. Have not read this author but just bought her first book for $0.99 on Amazon. Looking forward to it!
DeeAnn fuchs says
I just started reading this an hour ago and had a hard time putting it down to check my emails. I love this series and was so thrilled to get notice of it yesterday. I highly recommend this and love the premise of gods taking time off to relax in a small town in Oregon. Since I live in western Washington, I can also relate to the weather she describes. It is raining again even as I write this. Apparently we are skipping spring this year!
Denisetwin says
I love this series!!
Regina says
Thank you for the suggested reading. After reading an exerpt, I am tickled to have found my next binge read!
Amanda says
Started out really strong but I got pretty annoyed with the heroine. She tends to be a little slow in seeing the things right in front of her face especially for a cop and isn’t as educated on her job as she needs to be. Really neat idea though I really enjoyed the concept.
Janette says
Now own the series. Looks like fun.
