Hey Guys,

Brandi here. Since GDPR has made my job much more difficult lately, I’ve been given permission to bribe y’all with an exclusive Curran Twitter that is only available for Newsletter/ Blog Post subscribers. In other words, I’m asking if y’all who want to be resubscribed for either services to send very clear instructions in an email to myself regarding which of the two, if not both, you wish to get emails for. I need first and last names people!

If you want to keep receiving our emails and to read the Curran Twitter, check your email.  You will see an email from us about Curran Twitter. Open that email and follow the instructions.  For your convenience, these instructions are copied and pasted below.

Once there, make sure that you do this:

In Marketing Permissions, click EMAIL.  You can give us other permissions too, but we have to have Email permission to continue to send you emails.
Once you are done, click UPDATE PROFILE.

FAQ REGARDING SUBSCRIPTIONS (PLEASE READ)

  • Upon signing up, I was told I was already subscribed. Is there an issue with this or am I good to go?

You are good to go! However, if you want me to double check for you I can.

  • Do you need my first and last name?

That’s a personal preference, but you certainly can be subscribed with or without your last name.

  • I’m getting two separate emails, why is this happening?

I understand a lot of people have been receiving two emails from separate addresses (Ilona Andrews, Inc & Ilona Andrews). You are experiencing this because you are currently signed up for both the Blog Updates & The Newsletter. If you wish to be removed from either or both, let me know.

  11. Just a bit of advice, Brandi. When you post your email address, change the @ to [at]. That’s to keep spammers’ search engines from finding your email address in the posts. Or at least, I was told that was recommended. They might have upped their game and figured out a way around that, but it probably wouldn’t hurt to write your email address as Brandi.Bolden202 [at] gmail.com.

    I followed the steps in the email and it said my settings were updated, but I got that message last week with the other emails. Guess I’ll find out tomorrow if it work.

  12. I follow the blog – almost religiously. I never signed up for the email because I believe it’s the same content as what is on the blog and facebook page. But damn it …. Curran twitter.

    • Same for me. I check this blog more often when my email anyway, ( starting Thursday’s 24 times a day) so before the bribe,
      newsletter wasn’t necessary:)))
      I’m in Russia, so normally I get innkeeper on Saturday:( never stopped me from hopping for Thursday:)?

    • Right???!!! The bribe got me too! I just signed up for the newsletter. Wait…if we’re New subscribers, do we still get the Curran POV?

      • If we don’t there is a strong possibility of rioting. I wonder if Hugh and crew could be hired as a Merc to address that problem. Or wait, better yet, I momentarily forgot that Curran now runs the Guild!

        Aaaaand now …. I’m wondering what would happen if D’Ambray joined the Guild. 😀

    • This is exactly me. I seriously check this blog far more often than is probably healthy so I figured why get the newsletter? But this…. yes. Now I will get the newsletter. But Curran tweets haven’t appeared when I confirmed. So now I’m hoping and praying they appear. Now I have to check email like I check this blog. ….. I may never sleep again. ?

    • Same! Even though checking this blog is part of my daily routine I want more of Curran so I just signed up for the newsletter. Hope I start receiving the Curran tweets!

    There’s a field called status, under the first & last name fields. Do I need to do something there?

  20. This might be a dumb question but what’s the difference, if there is any, between the Newsletter or the Subscription Blog Post? Is 1 easier to send for you guys, or has more content?

    • @Natalie – It’s more about what info you want to receive & frequency of emails you want.

      The main newsletter: “This newsletter goes out infrequently and contains information about new releases, appearances, and big news. ”

      The blog newsletter: “This newsletter delivers posts from this website blog directly to your email box. If you don’t want to miss out on snippets, funny articles, or notification about free fiction, this is the newsletter for you. This newsletter goes out more frequently.”

    • Agreed. I had to wrestle with my instincts and decided that my hate of email clutter outwights my desire for a solitary twitter exchange, Curran notwithstanding. I could sign up and then unsucscribe, but why create that extra work for you?

  30. Bribe away! I don’t mind getting two e-mails. That way I know I received any and all information from Ilona Andrews. 😀

    On a side note: my move (including cleaning) is totally done! Yay! Now, I can concentrate on organizing my new place and focus on the really good stuff (Hugh, Elara, Kate, Curran, and so forth).

  35. Of course I signed up, enjoy the blog immensely, but I LOVE that handsome GSD pup at the head of this blog. He’s got that whole alert, intelligent, and responsive look going strong. I believe he appeared before . Who is the lucky owner?

      • Thank you. I amend my statement. SHE has that whole alert intelligent thing going for her. GSDs are one of my to favorite breeds. Over 50 years I’ve had nine of them, usually more than one at a time. My other favorite is the Chow Chow. A dog less like a GSD cannot be imagined. Give a command and the GSD says, ” yeah, yeah, on it!” The Chow says, “Talk to the Shepherd.” I occasionally imagine an Alpha pack meeting with a Shepherd and a Chow on the board. Jim could probably relate to the Chow. They are as near a cat as a canine can get. Anyway Artha is lovely.

            My daughter has a Bichon Frise crossed with a poodle, she is a diva!

    • That’s my baby Artha. I got her when she was a puppy for a cheap price because her daddy nipped her in the face and she had to get major surgery on her eye. They weren’t sure if she would have any vision problems or if anyone would want her, but she ended up recovering 100% with no vision issues and is a healthy and happy baby. She also has an instagram I made for her

  39. Ok, having probs updating my info 🙁 It is giving me an error #401 msg, saying authentication is required when I try to log in. I will have my tech-savvy husband try on his laptop, and if it still doesn’t work, I guess I will contact Brandi.

    I hope not!
    I’ve been sitting here for half an hour trying to phrase this without saying something politically sensitive. I’ll just say that I won’t be a party to a medium that allows anyone to lash out and say anything they want, without regard for truth, civility, even common decency, to inflict incredible harm to our fellow human beings.In that medium profanity is just fine, bullying is just fine, malicious lying is just fine. There are no consequences.
    Very day my favorite yarn sites and authors, etc. invite me to follow them on Twitter, Fb, et al. It’s exactly like asking me to follow them into a sewer. It reflects badly on them .Give it some thought and see if you really need them to run your very valuable business. Thanks.

    • I don’t think thats how it works based on the wording. Looks like if you sign up for blog/newsletter emails you get the Curran Twitter posts. No mention of requiring a Twitter account, if I remember correctly unless a tweet is private anyone can see it on Twitter anyway.

    • I believe it is just a make believe Twitter account from Curran – there have been previous ones…they are hilarious ?

      If you go to Menu then press on Free Fiction there are a few tweets there from Curran.
      I don’t use twitter so I hope it’s just going to come through on email ?
