Hi BDH, Mod R with a fun announcement for you today!
First things first.
Congratulations to Jeaniene Frost for hitting USAT Bestseller list at #51 with her new self-published release THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE!
A while ago, Ilona wrote a Just Life blog post about all the things on her to do list that week- including making fajitas for the dinner she was hosting for Grace Draven and her husband. Many were the BDH members who wished they could be a fly on the wall at that get-together and spy on everything that was being discussed hehe.
Say no more!
Ashland Library in MA will host two author events that were inspired by that fan desire:
- On Saturday, May 21st, at 5 pm ET – a relaxed chat with Jeaniene Frost and House Andrews
- On Tuesday, July 26th, at 7 pm ET – a summery tête-à-tête with Grace Draven and House Andrews
The Authors
Jeaniene Frost set a high standard for vampires in paranormal romance. Her most recent book offers a thrilling look at the iconic origin story of Cat and Bones, as experienced by Bones…from the other half of the grave.
Official Bio
Jeaniene Frost is a New York Times, USA Today and international bestselling author whose works include the Night Huntress series, the Night Prince series and the Broken Destiny series. To date, foreign rights for her novels have sold to 20 different countries. Jeaniene lives in Maryland with her husband Matthew, who long ago accepted that she rarely cooks and always sleeps in on the weekends. Aside from writing, Jeaniene enjoys reading, poetry, watching movies, exploring old cemeteries, spelunking and traveling — by car.
Grace Draven, Looking for any excuse to delay in doing the laundry, Grace turned to the much more entertaining task of telling stories about fantasy worlds, magic, antiheroes, and the women who love them. Her fascinating Wraith Kings series contains one of my personal favourite retellings of the Beauty and the Beast trope.
Official Bio
Grace Draven is a Louisiana native living in Texas with her husband, kids and a big, doofus dog. She has loved storytelling since forever and is a fan of the fictional bad boy. She is the winner of the Romantic Times Reviewers Choice for Best Fantasy Romance of 2014 and 2016, and a USA Today Bestselling author.
You know who Ilona and Gordon are if you’re reading this hehe, so I won’t go over that.
The Chats
It will mostly be a relaxed chat moderated by the lovely Meena Jain from Ashland, but please comment below if you have any questions for either of the authors (or email me directly at modr@ilona-andrews.com if you don’t want to ask publicly).
The chats are set to last around 90 minutes and a recording will be made available on the Ashland YouTube Channel afterwards.
Registration
Asland Library ask you to please register for these events, as spaces are limited. The first virtual event will be held on Saturday, May 21st at 5 pm ET. Here is a website that lets you figure out Eastern Time as it relates to your time zone.
Signed Books
Blue Willow Bookstore, an independent brick and mortar, is the partner for these events.
If you would like a signed book by one of the authors, you can order them through the bookstore event page. Personalization is not possible unfortunately, as the bookplates are sent ahead of time, but here is everyone’s chance to get a signed copy of Ruby Fever for their collection! And support an independent bookstore in the process, which is a win-win. Of course, if your order includes books not yet released, it will only ship after these are published. If you have any questions or want to enquire about international delivery, please contact Cathy directly at cathy@bluewillowbookshop.com
I will remind everyone about the chat with Grace closer to the date in July, provide the registration link and the bookstore order page for her signed books too.
I’ll be in the comments as usual in case I’ve forgotten something you want to know.

I didn’t realise we were doing this outside the Innkeeper post, I didn’t have the first trophy ready 😀
Kirsten says
Sorry! I needed some external validation today. It’s been a rough one. 🙂

Mod R, if you never read Grace Draven’s “Entreat Me”, that reminds me more of Beauty and the Beast more so than her Wraith King series. I have pretty much all of her books on my Nook including her re-work of The King of Hel. I can’t wait to read Grace’s new book from her Fallen Kingdom series “Raven Unveiled”. 🙂
Have fun everyone!

REGISTERED! This is why the race to First is occasionally so consuming, there might be event tickets in the offing.
Sjik says
Are only the hardcovers signed (via bookplate)? Or is it possible to get the mass market paperback with bookplate as well? Is there some option I need to select to ensure that? Thank you ModR!
Moderator R says
Hi Sjik,
All the books listed on the event page of the library come with a signed bookplate- if you have a look you will see they include paperback and trade. Here is the library link again https://www.bluewillowbookshop.com/virtual-events-ilona-andrews

Whoa — another successful author turning to self-publishing?
The chats sound like a wonderful treat for participants and fans alike. 🙂
Incidentally, Emerald Blaze is on sale in Kindle form at Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Emerald-Blaze-Hidden-Legacy-Novel-ebook/dp/B081ZGKN7H/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?crid=36APIGWRRKQJ4&keywords=ilona+andrews+hidden+legacy+series&qid=1651817060&sprefix=ilon%2Caps%2C72&sr=8-7), and there are other price drops noted. Happy gift shopping, y’all!

Yay! I got my signed hardcover of Ruby Fever ordered and will go pick it up. It might cost me as much in gas to go get it versus shipping because one thing IA absolutely get right about Houston is the vastness of the city. Plus traffic! But a good excuse to drive out there and shop a great bookstore.
Looking forward to the virtual event!

Question for Jeaniene: Does Bones still have his tattoo or did Mencheres pull off the arm with the tattoo on it?
Steve lucas says
Wish I could would love to see 2 of my fave authors. Too bad northern Canada is so very very very far away. Good luck hope all goes wonderfully for everyone involved
Breann says
I don’t think I’ll be able to make the chat, so I didn’t register, but I’m looking forward to watching the recording! Sounds like a fun time. ????
Mod R, will you be linking the recording here when it’s available or do I need to make a note so I don’t forget? ????
Moderator R says
We will probably remind everyone of the Ashland YouTube channel ????
Breann says
Thank you! ????
