Mod R would like me to remind you that Malcolm was the guy who led the original assault team into the Elmwood gate. Unfortunately with the breaks between installments, people forget who is who.
- Malcolm – leader of the assault team who discovered gold but didn’t say anything and we don’t know why
- Jackson – Cold Chaos’ missing healer, still detained in Japan
- Yosuke – Cold Chaos member who was blacklisted by a Japanese guild and now works for Elias
- Leo – Elias’ second in command, Vice-guildmaster of Cold Chaos
Finally we are using stock images today, because Candice is working on the cover, so we can get the preorder/order up for you.

The weight room at the Elmwood Park Rec Center was small, but it did have a bench press. The gym stood empty. No civilian in their right mind would risk being this close to an active gate. Elias loaded 4 plates on each side of the bar. 405 lbs. He would need an extra 200 lbs to really get going, but there were no plates left. A light workout it is.
Elias slid onto the bench, took a close grip with his fists nearly touching, lifted the bar off the rungs, and slowly lowered it to about an inch off his chest. He held it there for a few breaths, slowly pushed it up, and brought it back down.
The workout wasn’t planned, but sitting on his hands was getting to him. He had to let off some steam or he would explode.
Thirty minutes later, he had finished with the chest press and the leg press machine and was on the dip bars, with 4 plates chained to him, going into his second set of fifty dips, when Leo walked into the gym carrying his tablet. The XO looked like a cat who’d caught a mouse and was very satisfied with his hunting skills.
Elias nodded to him. “Good news?”
“In a manner of speaking. Malcolm has a brother.” Leo held up his tablet. On it a man strikingly similar to Malcolm smiled into the camera, poised against a forest. Same height, same lanky build, same dark hair and brown eyes. If you put him into tactical gear, Elias might have mistaken him for the Elmwood gate assault team leader.
Elias kept moving, lifting his body up and down, the plates a comfortable weight tugging on him. “Are they twins?”
“No, Peter is two years younger.”
“Is he a Talent?”
Leo shook his head. “He is a biologist. He spends most of his time in Australia.”
“What is he doing there?”
“Trying to contain an outbreak of chlamydia in koalas.”
Elias paused midway into the lift and looked at Leo.
“Apparently koalas are highly susceptible to chlamydia,” Leo said. “The latest strain is threatening to make them extinct in New South Wales.”
Elias shook his head and resumed the dips.
“Interesting fact,” Leo continued. “Dr. Peter Nevin can apparently be in two places at once. Here he is speaking at the National Koala Conference in Port Macquarie in New South Wales.”
He flicked the tablet and a picture of Peter Nevin at the podium slid onto the screen.
“And here he is in Vegas after losing $300K at the poker table on the same day.” Leo swiped across the tablet, presenting a picture of Malcolm exiting a casino, his face flat.
Elias ran out of dips, jumped to the floor, and began to unchain the weights. “Malcolm gambles under his brother’s name.”
Gambled. The man was dead.
“Oh, he doesn’t just gamble. When Malcolm lands in Vegas, a siren goes off and they roll out the red carpet from the plane all the way to the strip.”
“How deep is the hole?”
“Twenty-three million.”
Elias took special care to slide the weight plate back onto the rack. Breaking community equipment would not be good. Except that whatever pressure he’d managed to vent now doubled.
Twenty-three million. Over 3 times Malcolm’s annual pay with the bonuses.
Malcolm was a gambler. Everything suddenly made sense. If the motherlode of gold wasn’t an exaggeration, Malcolm could’ve walked away with a bonus of several hundred thousand.
The casinos had to know who they were dealing with. Nobody would allow a koala scientist to carry that kind of debt, but a star assault team leader from a large guild was a different story. If they had any decency, they would’ve cut Malcolm off, but then they weren’t in the decency business.
“He is on a payment plan,” Leo said.
“Of course he is.”
And they would let him dig that hole deeper and deeper. Why not? He’d become a passive income golden goose. And all of this should have been caught during his audits. Those payments had to have come from somewhere, and Malcolm would’ve been at it for years. Any bookkeeper worth their salt would’ve noticed a large amount of money going out.
“The auditor…”
“Already got her, sir.”
Her? Malcolm’s auditor was a man… and he had retired two years ago. The Guild must’ve assigned him to someone else. “Is it Susan Calloway?”
“It is.”
“Are they having an affair?”
Leo blinked. “They are! How…”
“Three years ago at the Establishment Party. He got two drinks, one for his wife and one for Susan, and when he handed the champagne to her, her face lit up. Then her husband returned to the table, and she stopped smiling.”
He had reminded Malcolm and Susan separately after that party that Guild Rules applied to them. The guild had a code of conduct, and every prospective guild member signed a document stating they read it and agreed to abide by it during the contract stage. Cold Chaos didn’t tolerate affairs. If both parties were single, relationships between guild members were fine, but cheating on your spouse, in or outside of the guild, would result in severe sanctions.
Adultery undermined trust, destroyed morale, and eroded the chain of command. If you didn’t have the discipline or moral code to remain faithful to the one person who should’ve mattered most in your life, how could anyone rely on you in the breach, where lives were on the line?
Both Malcolm and Susan swore nothing was going on, and Elias hadn’t seen any signs of trouble since. Meanwhile Susan quietly became Malcolm’s auditor and chose to ignore his gambling.
Elias hid a sigh. Some days he was just done.
“Is legal aware?” he asked.
“Yes. They do not believe that the casino will attempt to collect against Malcolm’s estate. They’ve gotten enough money from it already and hounding the widow of a dead Talent is a bad look. Not to mention the fraud involved in all of this.”
“Jackson?”
“No news yet.”
“It won’t be long now,” Elias told him.
Elias’s phone chimed as if on cue. He glanced at it. An 81 dialing code.
“Speak of the devil.”
He took the call.
Yasuo Morita appeared on the screen, a trim man in his forties, dark hair cropped short, a shadow of a beard darkening his jaw and crow’s feet at the corners of his smart eyes.
“Elias. Good to see you,” Yasuo said. The Vice-Guildmaster of Hikari no Ryu spoke English with the barest trace of an accent.
“Good to see you as well.”
“Your healer is on a plane heading home. My people sent over the flight information.”
Out of Yasuo’s view Leo waved his tablet and nodded.
“This was not done at our request,” Yasuo said. “Someone got overzealous in currying favor. This mistake has been corrected. You surprised me. Nicely done.”
“Glad to know I can still keep you on your toes.”
Yasuo smiled. “It won’t happen again.”
There were a couple dozen high-profile US-born Talents working in Japan. This morning nine of them simultaneously asked for leave and booked tickets home. It was a hell of a statement and it looked impressive, but it wasn’t made for the sake of Cold Chaos. The Guild sandbox was small and great healers were rare. Especially healers like Jackson who went out of his way to step in during an emergency. Elias had called every Talent who knew Jackson or benefited from the healer’s involvement. Some knew the healer personally, others through family members, but all agreed that interference with healers had to be off limits.
Explaining all of this to Yasuo was unnecessary. They were much better off letting him think that Cold Chaos had extensive reach.
“How is my brother?” Yasuo asked.
“Yosuke is well. He’s been promoted to the lead damage dealer of the Second Assault Team.”
“As he should be. When you see him next, I hope you will do me the favor of reminding him that our father hasn’t seen him in two years.”
“I’ll mention it.”
“Good-bye and good luck.”
“You as well.”
Elias ended the call. “When does he land?”
“He’s on the 6:30 pm flight out of Narita with an overnight layover in Hong Kong. He should land in Chicago at 2:25 pm the day after tomorrow. I will start the prep,” Leo said.
Finally. They would finally crack this damn breach. Elias squared his shoulders.
Everything would fall into place once they entered the gate.
first
Great job!
It’s official 🙂
all I can say my excitement has no bounds! squeee
Thank yku!
First?
Am I first?
;( There were no comments when I asked! So sad?
But the story repels all sadness.🤩
Thank you for the story, much needed after a hard shift at work
Agreed!
Such a joy to come home to.
Thank you
Whoop! Thank you!
Topp 10👍
yes! top 20?
The story keeps getting better and better. I’m hooked!!!
Best part of the day! <3
I’ve been a typical BDH member and have been hitting the refresh button way too many times!
Thank you!
You’re not alone. I started looking at the site since 9 am Central time. 😀
Me too! Great instalment, thank you <3!
I looked at 6 central then 9 then fell back to sleep. I am a failure as a BDH member LOL
Thank you so much House Andrews.
I’m a french girl living near Paris where it’s past 5 pm.
I’ve been waiting chalantly and I’m most grateful.
First????
Holygawd! Not even close.
Best part of the day, thank you!!!
Love this story!!
Thanks
The Horde has the priorities straight: We need no reminder about who Elias is 😊
Hmmmm
Agree!! 😀
Happy Friday! Thank you so much! Happy weekend!
I think that Ada will be out and on her way to see the kids before the team enters the gate. No rescue necessary.
I would love to be a fly in the wall, to witness the moment Elias encounters Ada and she is kicking ass and taking names!
I would like to see her and Bear walk out just as the rescue team is preparing to enter.
This ^^^
Don’t think it will happen since her plan (as of now, at least) is to find the anchor, and then follow/track Cold Chaos’ team back out.
But would be sweet!
I hope there is an additional scene with her interacting with this new civilization. I wonder if they will give her any gifts or tools for her journey.
A robe ( silk, of course).
A means to cook food..or, food…that might be a hoot.
A means for travel/navigation.
I have so many questions about the anchor. I think there are things to learn here. It gives the top tier talents a bad feeling. Is it the same for any inhabitants near it?
I hope there is something Ada’s talent can shed some light on.
Lastly, I think Ada will either join up with the crew on their way back from the anchor…or, she will see them walking into a trap/ambush and intervene to save them.
+1000
They need to harvest stalkers so others can benefit. Ha ha ha!
wouldn’t the original strike team have marked the way out? I thought that was why she was heading toward the anchor.
I bet she is going to have to rescue the rescue team! She is gaining the skilz needed to survive in there and they, for all their innate talent, still won’t be a match for this gate. Then she’ll negotiate with the aliens and there will be a truce……
Huh, so Malcom had gambling and adultery problems. Interesting…
Glad Jackson is coming home and going into the breach with Elias.
The plot gets thicker every time a new snippet comes out.
To be continued Monday!
By the way, whoo-hoo to getting closer to pre-ordering this wonderful, roller coaster of a story! 😀
Malcolm. It’s near the weekend. I can’t spell. 🤪
It still sort of takes me by surprised every time I get to the ending. I get so thoroughly sucked in and then boom! over. The long wait for Monday begins.
at least the wait for monday is shorter than the wait for friday 🙂
+1
I do the same thing! Wow and la la la AAAAHHHH its over?😂😂
Same here. Life got crazy a few weeks ago and I had several installments to read, then the w@!ting was even worse! Looking forward to pre-ordering soon.
Me too!
I do adore competence.
Oh my, Elias is in for a shock. Nope, the pieces will not fall into place. The pieces have no place 🙂
Hopefully Jackson can heal the pollen. Wonder if everyone wears leg armor for the cutting poison plants.
The big insect and stalkers are probably not a big deal. But the water dragon might be an issue.
Then again the new team might take an entirely different route than Ada & Bear.
Just imagine if they meet spider people and the team hear Ada speak an entirely unknown language.
I believe that Ada is taking a completely unknown route to the Anchor and Cold Case will come through the “regular”route that they came through the first time. So CC won’t hit the same people/plants/animals that Ada has (so far).
Ah, I kinda expect the cave system to be one eco system. But of course a cave system means parts of it might be connected by eg one tunnel.
And of course we know some of the monsters / stuff in the cave version of breach are recurring (variant of stalker was mentioned). So they will probably know about the dangers of the plants and avoid lakes with corpses 🙂
Can’t wait to get my hands on the book!
+1
We have yet to see any evidence of the original assault teems passage in Ada’s journey. I’m guessing the new team will be following that path to the core. unless they go yo collect the miner’s bodies and track Ada’s progress.
Wasn’t there a place where it looked like plants, maybe the red spiky ones, had mounded over several large lumps? I’ve been wondering if those were the remains of the assault team. Did she flex and see that those plants were part plant/part creature? Carnivorous plants? I may be conflating another danger she & bear met.
My question is: Are they taking the same route since the entrance collapsed ? He has a “map,” and Ada doesn’t ‘t!
Elias is planning to recover the bodies, but from there, he can go another way… Sacrilege to say this, but I can’t wait for Monday!
The only way to get to the bodies, to count/ assess injuries/collect proof/ retrieve the dead etc is to open up the collapsed entry 🙂
I agree, Mod R. Then the questions of “Where’s Ada?! Where’s Bear?! They’re not here! Where are they?!” come into the conversation.
To quote Elias, “Hmmmm”. 😂
My question is, will the bodies still be there, or will some breach scavengers disappear them?
Not only that, but if I’m remembering correctly Ada also returned decapitated heads to bodies which is not something you’d expect a monster to do. And I believe the pink alien’s body is there too.
Elias is going to exit that area with mor questions than answers
I think Elias will be drawn straight to the anchor as he would feel it right away. So the CC route will likely not the same as what Ada & Bear are taking.
A different group would likely deal with the corpses… I hope that “shroud” finally lost energy and can’t taint anyone (channeling the Innkeeper vibe here).
it totally agree – he is an optimist that things will fall into place easy, and also still 2,5 more days till they enter – wow Ada will be at the anchor and beyond by then, made more friends with the aliens and who knows what.
How long has she been in the gate? Anyone know?
Rought count approx 4 days at this point, but I haven’t made an official timeline.
thanks!!
Thank you, that was going to be my question after this post. I was wondering how much time has passed.
Perhaps Elias’ version of ‘easy’ is — I’m really really pissed off/disgusted/frustrated and look forward to venting on the obstacles that are to be found in a yellow/orange/red breach!
I’m guessing that, at this moment, Elias defines easy as mostly physical challenges, devoid of idiotic politics. I’m pretty sure there’s a whole circle of Hell devoted to helpless waiting.
@Michael,
I agree. I think the second assault team will take another route, probably a more direct route…or, as direct route as they can in the caves. Ada hasn’t navigated a breach before.
I think we’ve seen that the mauve flowers are throughout the system, so, I like you wonder if it’s something that the team has previously encountered. I don’t think it’s been stated and the image in this case could just be an image. In Chapter 4, the assault exiting the breach has on a face mask. I wonder if they have learned to use a respirator further into the breach?
I hope they do not encounter the dragon. They may have learned shoot first, questions later. 🤣
Thanks for the part. It was fun finding out what had happened with Jackson
That was very satisfying! And Yosuke is the Japanese guild leader’s brother. Oooooo complications abound. And everything’s going to fall into place, is it? Famous last words 🤣. Thank you for this lovely start to the weekend! Hope HA has some fun planned!
Time for a deep Spring cleaning at Cold Chaos. A grand confusion of unconnected idiots combusting at once but still, reviews and audits for all.
So money and sex for Malcolm. Hate for London (in the sense that he is better than his employers and deserves to be lauded). The only thing I can say about the miner leader (as usual, I forget her name) is that she purposely didn’t do evil; she just panicked and every-manned for herself.
Melissa 🙂
😘
Chore day so came late to today ‘s blog. Now relaxing after gobbling down the snippet and reading the comment.
As a fellow USA resident, hope Gordon has some relaxing or fun plans for Father’s day on Sunday. 💆🛀🏌♂️
I’ve said before that I have less smoke for Melissa…because she was not in charge of the overall safety of the crew…however, after a few rereads. In chapter, Melissa makes nearly the same statement to Anja as London made to Ada.
Melissa’s actions to Anja and the rest of her team continue to be reprehensible, but my smoke for her is rising. I hope there are consequences for both of them…after the confrontation.
Wild thought – with all of her stalker consumption, I kinda want Bear to be able to project acid them. For my own amusement… 🤣😂🤣
I voted that Bear should have laser beam eyes to deal w the miscreants, but sure, projectile acid is good too. Mostly because I think Ada might later feel guilty if she murders them.
Actually Melissa told London to throw the grenade, and shoved her young miner out of the way. Evil and a coward.
“You got to know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em.
Know when to walk away and know when to run”
Malcolm didn’t. 😯
That’s exactly the song I used for the Instagram promo post 😀 Great minds!
You do realize that this song was released in 1978? I remember singing it in 5th or 6th grade music class (along with The Beatles “Yellow Submarine”) and it wasn’t in current circulation.
However, it is a song that deserves to be remembered.
Every gambler knows
That the secret to survivin’
Is knowin’ what to throw away
And knowin’ what to keep
‘Cause every hand’s a winner
And every hand’s a loser
And the best that you can hope for is to die
in your sleep
– Kenny Rodgers, “The Gambler”
Maybe I am paranoid, but for me this was one time to many when Malcom has been pronounced dead. Nobody has seen his dead body yet.
+1
Thank you!! And is it true we’re getting extra scenes when the book is published?
Yes, as usual with the free serials, an epilogue or final scene will be added in the published/ebook/audio format 🙂
I thought I saw some comments somewhere saying Gordon was going to add even more extra scenes? Or did I hallucinate that, because I wanted more extra scenes of this amazing world? 🤣 For the life of me, I couldn’t figure out where I read that.
House Andrews will be writing two extra scenes than initially planned for the manuscript.
It will not be only Gordon adding them 🙂 This was a Facebook post https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1B3zDpcUcL/
Thank you HA!!! 🙏💜
Ain’t no breaks when you reread the whole thing before each new installment– just sayin’.
LOL. So true!!
I don’t start back at the beginning, but I always reread the previous post. Reminds me what is happening and makes that days read a little longer.
Famous last words.
Right?? I laughed out loud when I read them.
Hehehe.
Me too, Elias you ought to know better!
Approximately 30! Because there are almost certainly people getting their comments in whilst I type mine. But still!, 30! I’ve NEVER been this early before. Do I sense that we are rushing headlong towards the climax? Elias will be heading into the breach soon. Ada is heading towards the anchor.,Ooh, this is so exciting
thank you 😊
I was worried that something had happened to HA. This is the first time I’ve gone to the comments before reading. Take care of yourselves.
Me too! You would think that I would remember that I will never be first.
Next time I will revert to reading first. I wasted too much time by typing.
Why do I get the feeling Elias’s belief “Everything would fall into place once they entered the gate.” is going to prove misplaced?
Hehehe. Not your first House Andrews rollercoaster, I see 😀
This is the earliest I’ve ever been and I’m still not that early lol. Oh boy, I can’t wait for our two leads to meet and for Elias to get gobsmacked by awesomeness.
Heh Elias has the power.
OK, if Malcom makes $7-8 million a year, then 1) how much does Ada make a year (govt. employee, but still), and 2) Malcolm should have gotten someone to teach him how to gamble because he sucked at it.
No “but still”, unfortunately 🙂 . Guild stars are paid like movie stars and then get breach bonuses based on what they find in the breach. The government assessor doesn’t:
” A hell of a find. Not that I would get anything out of it other than bragging rights. Government employees didn’t get gate loot bonuses, and that wasn’t why I’d taken this job. – https://ilona-andrews.com/blog/the-inheritance-chapter-2/
and if I remember correctly, the assessors can only work for the government, guilds aren’t allowed to employ them independently. Boo! but sounds about right for a government employee.
That’s right, all assessors are employed with the DDC 🙂
Wondering if that rule still applies to assessors who drastically level up their Talents. Will the government be able to hold Ada back, because she is an even better Assessor now, or will her new combat skills and regeneration put her into a different category.
I suspect she’ll be owning a piece of Cold Chaos along side Elias after this guild fiasco is exposed. Can’t wait to find out!
If Ada has received the speed boost her predecessor had (we don’t have anything but Stalkers to benchmark her against), which was enough that London couldn’t track her movement and he is a significant Talent, then she becomes a “self-escorting Debra”.
Which means the worst (Red?) gates will WAIT for her to become available. And that will give her negotiating power even with the gov’t for her salary.
No loot bonuses, but if there’s are a limited number of DEBras then they should still be somewhat well paid. Not millions, but I’d hope at least comparable to a GS-15 employee (about a quarter mil annually).
If it’s anything resembling real world thinking there will be bonus for risk. Plus whatever the 3rd-5th highest government pay is. And the benefits of course.
Otherwise there would be no takers. It’s just too risky, I mean there is a reason for the escort team.
The breakdown of the incentives for Ada are the intro to the Inheritance- the beginning of Chapter 1 🙂
https://ilona-andrews.com/blog/the-inheritance-chapter-1/
If Malcolm got someone to teach him about gambling, the person would say the probability of Malcolm would win depends on what he plays.
Also, the odds will depend if there are replacement cards or if the cards are discarded. Then there are dice games. and so on.
By the time Malcolm learned all that his brain would be fried or it would be mush. 😁
How do I know this? I had to learn about gaming in my statistics classes. 😊 No casino would want me in their establishment. 😉🤣🤣🤣
Obviously, Malcom’s “light precog” talent does NOT extend to cards.
If his precog worked for gambling then he bloody well would not be allowed to gamble – just like card counting isn’t allowed.
Because – as we all know – if it worked it wouldn’t be gambling and in those establishment you must gamble (a good argument in all honesty) 🙂
Logical I suppose & understandable. A casino is a business after all.
He was probably thinking he could use his slight precognition to make him successful so never really learned to play. He is impulsive at times so that didn’t help him either.
No Elias, everything will not fall into place.
Can’t wait to see it.
Bwahahaha!! This!
we have yet to meet Jackson, yet I’m already feeling proactive of him. Good healers are important and hard yo come by.
Don’t sell a healer short in a breach. If you can fix it, you can break it.
And the Koala / Chlamydia research is even a real thing on our Earth and despite the reactions, good on ya AL for bringing it in!
Saved me from Googling it. I did wonder.
See “The John Oliver Koala Chlamydia Ward”…
+1 🧐😊
it is a thing! I learned about it from a John Oliver episode 🤣
I learned it from my son, but then saw information posted about it at the San Diego Zoo. 😷🤒
Thanks for the chapter.
Wow.
The adultery being that serious for a big company kind of shocked me. But I think since it was Elias point of view and his company, he could make it so.
And both of them work together and one part of the couple was supposed to overview the finance of the other.
I liked the wording Elias used when describing why adultery was a not professionally good.
I kind of thought the situation with Jackson would require the help of others he had helped.
Elias is a former military officer. US military forces do not tolerate adultery. Now it happens, but if it is brought to the attention of service member’s chain of command, the proverbial shit will hit the fan.
Oh, ok. Thanks for the info about US forces. I didn’t know.
As far as I knew, adultery was part of the personal life’s of the people involved unless it affected work.
I thought this was the point of view of most companies, and didn’t realize Elias background would make such a difference.
Yup! (former U.S. soldier here).
Civilians don’t understand, the U.S. armed forces swear to protect the Constitution but they themselves are subject to the Uniform Code of MILITARY JUSTICE, which taken to an extreme, has control over the air you breathe.
All the stuff that happens outside of work in the civilian life, falls under the purview of military command, the moment that it becomes a noticed ‘problem’; and the UCMJ has a regulation/rule of evidence/punishment for EVERYTHING.
Air Force Reserve JAG here- just clarifying Sechat’s statements slightly. As Gordon likely knows/remembers from his former US Army service! Adultery is in fact violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which is the penal code that applies to uniformed service members on active duty, as well (in some cases) to Reserve members. In my experience adultery is rarely as a court-martial action (or if so, the court-martial charges include other offenses and the adultery is sort of an “add-on”). More often adultery is the basis of an Article 15 action, which very roughly equivalent to a misdemeanor prosecution. All UCMJ actions have a standard of proof: the person bringing the charge (prosecuting) can’t just “say so,” the allegations have to have a minimum of a probable cause (for Article 15) and “beyond a reasonable doubt” for court-martial. The soldier/sailor/airman/marine can also, or in the alternative get “bad paperwork” for adultery- some type of personnel action that follows them for a while but falls short of criminal sanction. Sometimes these purely personnel (non-UCMJ) actions can be quite harsh, for example can lead to loss of promotion potential, demotion, lost training opportunities, etc. Other times they are more of a slap on the wrist. It is also common for adultery to be suspected but ignored (not that easy to prove, after all)- just a slight pushback against what ModR said (that the US Forces don’t tolerate adultery)– officially, no, but in practice, this does happen.
I have not contributed to this conversation. There cannot be pushback against something I said 🙂
Two lawyers enter…
Before we get into Thunderdome, it was me who said that US military forces do not tolerate adultery. It is covered under article 134 of UCMJ which states specifically that “the maximum punishment is a Dishonorable Discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and confinement for one year.” From this, one can reasonably conclude that adultery is not tolerated.
Let us close this thread. 😀
Thanks to everyone for the detailed answers ^^
Adultery or other personal secrets can open one up to blackmail and be a security issue
Loving the story and Elias’ manuvering 🙂
Or if you owe a favor to the Lees because they saved your daughter’s life.
Then again, not if Lady Ilemina knows about it
All I see is 👀 pre-order. hehehe
+1 🤣
Kick butt take names. But Monday is so far away
Yes!
Love Elias strategy that released Malcolm with bonus points for style awarded from Hikari no Ryus Vice Guildmaster.
That Guilds Name reminds me of Heki Ryu which is the school of japanese archery I practise.
Seems like he now can start to root out some problems in his guild while Jackson is en Route to the breach. Amazing how much drama is compressed in this revelation.
Thanks for a lovely start to the weekend.
It didn’t release Malcom, it released Jackson 🙂
Malcom is the strike team leader and he is dead in the breach.
Or is he?!? Mwahahaha!
(Hey, it’s Friday the 13th. Work with me here.)
👍🤣
Thank you for the reminder ModR and your p*tience whilst sorting the comments.
Seems I’m in need of the weekend and too giddy after reading the lovely chapter and only noticed after scrolling through the new comments.
I do not trust you about Malcom, Mod R. You, like the story, claim his death way to often…
lololol, +1
…ahhh, released Jackson of course- it was a long week over here although I read the who’s who you kindly provided for just this case as well as the chapter ….
Guild politics are fascinating! This will add another dimension to the storylines for the Inheritance series when —-OH, sorry, misspoke!— IF House Andrews decides to write a series in this world.
I mean, a series where the world building is already created and all the thought about how the guilds work and about sentient life in the breaches, that means so much of the groundwork for the books is done, right? It would almost be wasteful to only write one excellent novella (or novel) and then leave that world behind. A huge waste of author time and talent I would think. Hmm…
Say it, Mod R, you know you want to: smooth, right? 🙂
I thought this was totally smooth!!
THANK YOU! Horde brothers and sisters stick together!
The smoothest of smooth!
I would like to see more about why exactly Yosuke decided to leave the guild where his brother is second in command. Do we know if Yosuke’s Dad/Mom is the Guildmaster? Sigh. It seems like a longer story than would easily fit in Inheritance. If only there was a way it could b its own novella…
I’ve read all of HA’s books. They are so well written that all of them could be extended. Ooh, remember the diner horror story? Complex. It gave me the creep freaks. I still had to finish it. HA has an unplumbed skill in horror. Shiver.
Can you tell us how many installments are left?
Between 4 and 10 🙂
10 it is, lol!
definitely vote for 10 & up 😉
Crying real tears here at BDH math – rock on, 10+ more Horde Peeps!
*giggles* at Horde math.
i’m not ready for the story to be over!
“Between 4 and 10” in BDH math equals 14! 😉
P.S. In my wheedling, I forgot: THANK YOU, House Andrews, excellent installment as always!
Finally got caught up and a couple of bad weeks. ooooooooowee! This is good!
Thank you HA!
“Everything will fall into place once they enter the gate”.
Hahahahaha
Ok, I’m going to cut Elias some slack and assume he’s too experienced to think things will be easy once they enter, just more straightforward. He’ll have his team and their objective to focus on without distractions like guild politics.
It’s simpler to Elias once in the gate; Move forward. Kill anything threatening your people. Get out.
My thoughts exactly!
Same laugh, too!
What I love about HA is that everything they write, every detail makes sense. Nothing is merely random. Nothing is out of place. One doesn’t have to suspend disbelief. The main characters are actually smart, competent, compassionate, and have integrity. Not simply narrated to possess these characteristics but actually shown in their actions and decisions. Hands down the best writers ever.
Thank you so much for this incredibly satisfying episode.
Ditto
Huh, apparently it is. I’ll make a note to never do it again
Only in specific book recommendations or book requests comment sections 🙂
Consider me informed, and suitably chastised
Well then, do you suppose we can have one on a slow news day then? I’ll admit to being over enthusiastic because of the latest entries that I’m currently engrossed with. Very yummy all around, and definitely worth sharing. Hope that’s vague enough.
So well said. Thank you for this clear summary of HA writing and why everything they write shines.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍
Czy ktoś tu powiedział , że ciąg dalszy będzie w poniedziałek ??? Niech czas płynie szybciej 🙂 To jest taakiee doobre . Dziękuję okrutnie 🙂
Episodes on Mondays and Fridays until the book is done.
Been looking forward to Cold Chaos entering the breach and finding Ada and Bear!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Ooh! I can’t wait until the team runs into trouble and Ada and Bear arrive to rescue them!
or probably 3/4 in route and Elias feel the anchor destroyed 🙂
I think Ada won’t collapse the anchor, unless something else happens. She doesn’t know who else may be inside the breach or where.
After destruction of the anchor, there isn’t a lot of time before the gate collapses. She probably won’t destroy the anchor because she knows the bodies need to be recovered and the adamantite collected. She is committed to getting back to her kids, but also to getting the resources that makes it safe for her kids in the future.
I’m thinking Elias will get his crew together, they’ll all be geared up, he’ll make London and Melissa come along to show them where they went, and just when they’re about to cross into the breach, out walks Ada and Bear.
I was going to say that the breach would then close because Ada destroyed the anchor, but then it occurred to me that she might find the bodies of her teammates and would want to lead the incoming team back to them to collect the bodies.
I just remembered though that Ada decided early on to avoid and hide from any rescuers, assuming that they would want her dead rather than allow her to exit the gate and make Cold Chaos and London and cronies look murderous or even just negligent. I don’t think Ada will let herself be found. She apparently doesn’t know that Elias and Leo are actually moral people. It makes sense that she wouldn’t know Cold Chaos higher ups and also, she’s been scarred by her completely selfish loser ex-husband. Why would she think there is any possibility that heroes exist and covering your a** isn’t more important to Cold Chaos?
Anyone else have a brain tangent moment at the beginning thinking about Curran and Elias having a private gym battle competition? No, just me?
Thank you for this wonderful snippet.
Yes!
Yes! I am surprised the BDH hasn’t discussed Elias’ “light” workout more.
so 10 it is – sorry from a previous comment of how many installments left – we of course would rather a whole book and off shoots to delve into all these amazing characters (Leo, the mysterious Jackson). thank you so much and happy friday the 13th!!!
Between 4 and 10! So more than 4, but less than 10!
😀 Playing Horde games, I see.
So, it’s 5-9 readings left. I go for 9. 🤣
Horde reacts… so 14 more installments!!!
The Horde rejoices!!!
Thank you, Mod R!
Arabella Baylor would be proud 🤣
Ahhhhh… so good!
Why didn’t Cold Chaos send a private plane for Jackson or book him on a charter? There’s a direct flight from Narita to Chicago….13 hours. The Hong Kong layover adds several hours to the flight. Also Hong Kong is the other direction from Chicago.
So all those deaths due to gambling. So sad. The casino should be blacklisted….and Susan fired. Not a good day for Cold Chaos management.
🙂 Monster gates might have changed a few air travel journeys. Also, the Japanese Guild lost face – the detention wasn’t their doing and they put him on a flight asap.
Lol, @Mar. I had the same question when I saw the flight information with a long layover in Hong Kong! Having traveled from the east coast of the US to Japan myself a few years ago (lovely vacation, highly recommended country), I am surprised that they couldn’t get a direct flight to Los Angeles or Seattle or Chicago or Vancouver BC at short notice. And of course all of those major North American airports have many connections to the Midwest.
Maybe the Japanese guild is too small to own a private plane?
There may be *reasons* why we need to delay Elias another 48 hours though…the plot thickens. As Mod R points out we can certainly blame the gates for route changes when needed.
Susan fired?!? Well, yes, but then prosecuted for her crimes! She participated in a conspiracy that led to many deaths. Pretty sure that will add up to felony-murder. To b fair, lots of blame to go around.
An absolutely gem of a chapter.
Many interactions happening, and it all makes sense. I love the intrigue!
Thank you, it was a difficult week, and it’s highly appreciated.
I want the whole book, and I want it NOW!
🙂
Thank you House Andrews for this Friday installment – so very enjoyable!
And for me it touched yet another different response. Last Friday full on adrenaline with the wasp battle, Monday all the heart with baby shepherds and cross-species brotherhood and today honor and human decency (or the lack thereof). Thank you for providing such depth to your writing!
Happy Friday to all! May your weekends be restful and spent with those you love!
Man, Ada is going to waltz out of there before Elias ever gets a foot inside. Can’t wait for them to meet tho!!
100th?
😝 good one
Oh, I cannot wait for them to enter the gate. Ada and Bear, I believe will not only save themselves, but will end up saving Elias and his team as well. Time will tell. Cannot wait!
That would be so awesome lol
Thank you!!!!
So good to get these chapters, that I took a break from rereading Emerald Blaze 🤓 now I’m back to back in Ilona Andrews worlds. Love my retirement life.
Elias, all of this chaos in your company…sir, either you got a rat on board or your attention is too divided.
I so want to grab my belt .. Sir, if you don’t get into this breach.
The kaolas were hilarious.
His guild is named Cold Chaos, after all . . . just living up to the brand?
Awesome. I’m ready, too!
I’m as ready to enter the gate as Elias is! After starting to read this story I went back and binged Solo Leveling again on Crunchy Roll.
HA is the best!
It’s been quite the week, thank you for the much-needed escapism!
I can’t decide which storyline I like better…the world of the breach is fascinating, but the intrigue and chess moves of Elias and Leo are so juicy!!!
Delightful! Love the interactions between Elias and Leo. Two people who have worked together well for quite sometime and have that instant understanding.
So appx two to five weeks of story left! Yeah! Looking forward to the cover! and pre-order!
Thanks HA!
Can I just say that I thank you for stock photos bc they set the scene but I really miss Candice’s psychedelic art. Thank you, Candice, for taking the time to prepare us for each episode and we all hope you come back when you can. Of course, make your money first from your other work but we do miss you.
Candice is working on the covers sketches and they are gorgeous. Sorry, but we need the cover at this point so it takes priority. 🙂
Sorry, sorry. I read too quickly and I now understand that she is still working for you/us. Still the rest of my comment, that she adds to the episodes, stands.
Can I also hide behind the fact that I had oral surgery on Wednesday and I am still on drugs???
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
I have no words
All the words are best left for HA
And they used them magistrally
Absolutely awesome
Thankyou!!!
Thank you for the wonderful chapter!
Ooh, when we saw Elias “making calls” I thought for sure that he was calling all the *other* guild masters in Japan… to make ‘veiled’ attempts to poach their healers ( because, healers are *clearly* fair game now… oh, didn’t you know…?)
I like HAs way much MUCh better 😊 Which is why *they* are the author’s! 🤣
I. love. this. book. ILOVETHISBOOK! #chalant
Thank youuu 😊!!!
So the koalas can really catch chlamydia. I was going to ask but it was already answered in the comments 😉
We are starting to get answers about Jackson and Guilds politics, but there’s still a question:
In the first chapters we got an explanation about how the more dangerous the breach, the more interesting things you get to collect for the mining team.
Yet there’s adamantite and loads of gold in the breach, and it was only rated as middle danger (if I’m right).
How ?
Was somebody bribed at the DDC by a concurrent Guild ??
The gate was rated a 7 out of 10 on danger 🙂. Gold is valuable, ofc, but not uncommon according to the text.
Thanks for the answer ModR
I was wondering about this. Gold is valuable, sure, but we can find it on earth. I would think that they would focus on valuable/rare substances that are not otherwise available. Which I guess explains why they dumped the gold when they found something better.
I look forward to this soo much! Thank you!
Great chess move by Elias. Love the interactions between Elias and Leo.
Thank you so much for this serial. Waiting for tonight’s release of Murderbot and Monday’s release of The Inheritance.
Right there with you! Loving Murderbot and The Inheritance, both. Such good entertainment.
All this angst and build-up to even get into the breach and fix this mess….
Meanwhile here’s me hoping our heroine and trusty canine side-kick come strolling out on their own just as the rescue team is about to step inside
😊
I was just going to leave ” AAAAAAAAHHH!” but I decided not to. It hardly describes my happy frustration at having to wait for the next fabulous, exciting installment. Write on…PLEASE! 😁
“Happy frustration” captures the feeling exactly, thank you!!
No one is every “dead” until you have seen the body. Not just part of the body i.e. ear or finger or part of a limb, it has to be at least half of a body. Anyway that is my experience from 60 years of reading
Go Elias!
the build up! OMG! so good! and now we know what London and Malcom were up to. TYVM
Absolutely loving this story!! Thank you for cheering me up after a stressful week.
Can’t wait to see Elias in action. And the dumb-founded face he’ll make when he seeing Ada kicking a$$
Question. With the amount of money these Guilds have and the urgency of the gate breach, how come Jackson wasn’t charted on a private jet?
The Japanese guild were not responsible for Jackson’s detention, but they got him out and put him on a plane. That sort of hire would have been exorbitant.
I love not trying to be first. It means I get to sleep in and be wide awake for this installment. Can’t wait for Elias to meet Addy.
Oh my gosh! I’m getting so excited to have them enter the gate and see what happens!!
Mmmhmm Jackson is on his way, going in soon, Ada will probably stun them all into silence by being a badass. Lots going on in the story right now…
…so you saying guild members can date?
#teamfactsbedamned
“Two single guild members, one breach” – the new trope that sweeps the Horde 🤣
My mind went off into the ditch after reading your response, Mod R. 🤭🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have a feeling I’m not going to be the only one.
At this point, we’ve been fully horny on main for Elias for weeks, it’s time to give in 🤣
Single guild members can date, but DeBRAs and guild members can’t, if I’m remembering right? I’m pretty sure there was a scene early on where Ada was thinking that getting involved with London would get her fired, and that he wasn’t worth her losing her job.
So either there’s no Ada-Elias ship to be sailed or one of them quits their job. . . ?
Ada being a DeBRA is going to be so far down the list of her abilities that it will no longer apply. She will be able to leave the LOW paying gov. position for a gild job.
I had a great big laugh out loud when Elias thought, “Everything would fall into place once they entered the gate.” I don’t think it’ll be that straightforward 😂.
What a great story! Eagerly enjoying each installment and the final book!
Thank you for the character reminders. And I can’t wait for Monday! (Always assuming we survive Saturday and Sunday!).
I am happy that it’s all coming together (and about the number of episodes that we have to look forward to). Based on the serials we’ve had in the past, how long does it normally take from last chapter to book? I will try and practice patience!
It entirely depends on final length :). If we’re close to the preorder, we are also close to finding out when we’ll see it.
I love the story. Thanks. I have been wondering about the alien swordsmen that came chasing that woman who Ada tried to help. The alien woman killed all of them but died. I wonder what tunnel and what world both alien fighters came from. Ada hasn’t come across either race, yet. The alien swordsmen are the ones who killed the miners.
Hi Judy,
I have thoughts on this…the wildest of speculation.
I’ve reread multiple times, Ada says that she doesn’t see the 4th attacker. After that the only reference I saw was to the “four armed attackers.” They were described as having four arms with swords in each hand.
The Gift Giver, her arm was cut off and not described to be at the scene.
My speculation is that the 4th attacker took it and left. Either for something that was her hands or needing it/second bracer…for access to something.
I think that the 4th attacker is going to encounter the new assault team and Ada will end up interceding, marching their speed…and/or Ada will encounter them and the team will come across their battle.
I can’t wait to find out if my thoughts are on the right track.
I believe all 4 attackers were killed by the (supposed) Sadrin who passed the inheritance to Ada. However, I speculate we will find a bunch more of these same 4-armed super-speed goons guarding the anchor. Nothing Ada has encountered so far would have taken out a skilled assault team. I forget exactly how many talents are in the assault team, my memory says 10-15. I expect that many could have even taken on the lake dragon, although more likely they would have distracted it and moved on. But something killed the entire team.
We haven’t met the boss monster(s) of the cave breach yet. Somebody, or a bunch of somebodies, with significant power, are running this place.
But we don’t ned to find out about them in this book in order for the current plot to be resolved. The boss monster(s) can wait for the next book. 😀
Need. Past my bedtime; it’s been a very long week. This installment is my reward for heavy adulting.
It does say that the fights get harder the closer u get to the anchor.
In Chapter 4, Part 1, Leo informs Elias that the assault team and 15 specific people died in the Elmwood Gate. Elias then notes that 28 is the total amount of dead, which means that the assault team for the Elmwood Gate was 13 people (or 12 if one of the 28 is Bear). It really puts it into perspective because 13 highly powered people IS a lot of people to be killed given the adversaries Ada has been dealing with! Just another thing to ramp up the suspense!
Perhaps the fourth gray attacker did leave with the Sadrin’s arm, or Ada just did not notice the arm or the fourth dead body. After she wakes up from receiving the Inheritance, Ada knows that she is on a time crunch (“I had to act fast.” from 3.1) and she is very focused on the bodies of the people in her group, both emotionally because she mourns them and practically because she needs gear. Ada also specifically does not engage with the gray aliens after the shroud comes at her in 3.2. She may have missed the fourth alien/disembodied arm. However, Ada made a full circle around the cavern and found nothing else of note. Given that she returns Stella’s head to her body, I think if she saw the disembodied arm she would take note of it and return it to the Sadrin’s body. There is some potential there! Doors are open for things to happen later on.
I don’t know that there is a lot of evidence for a singular big bad, or at least not one native to the ecosystem. The stalkers, lake dragon, bug creature thing, and spider herders all feel more like a part of the setting than evidence of a powerful person or people “running this place”. Perhaps there are more of the four armed creatures, but the four armed creatures and the Sadrin do not feel like they belong to this world either. They are too strong and fast and sophisticated.
Either way, it is so exciting to chip away at the mystery of how Ada’s catastrophe happened! Love all of this, very excited for Monday!
I’m really loving this story! Can’t wait to pre-order.
Thank you, House Andrews and Mod R.
I figured we’d learn more about money troubles behind the scenes.
I’d heard about the koalas. 🙁
We’ll take as many installments as you feel comfortable providing. The world building rather implies future stories.
Have a very chalant weekend!
YESS PRE-ORDER PRE-ORDER PRE-ORDERRRRR
+1
Arrrggghhh….never enough…preorder soon please🙏🙏🙏
I love really love The Inheritance. Thank you for writing it.
Oooo, Elias is figuring things out!
I love this book!!!
You never expect the clap. Then it is just right there.
Poor Peter. They might not go after the widow, but I wouldn’t put it past them to go after Peter.
So what is Melissa’s excuse going to be? Malcolm is in debt. London is narcissist. Why did she ok the tunnel thing?
My name is Malcolm Nevin. Newcastle UK.
Congrats on seeing your name in a story! 🤩
How do you feel about 🐨?
Neither Malcolm nor Nevin is that common so to get someone coming up with it for their book!
Great.
I felt really weird seeing my name in the story, but who wouldn’t if the character was like Roger.
And my (last) name is Bear. Daytona Beach, FL, USA.
I’ll take my character over yours. 🙂
BDH chant “more, More, MORE!”
Andrews team, you just keep creating great new worlds to pull me in before I
We’ve gotten our fill of the last one!
I’m looking forward to Maggie, but got teased with Hugh, and now the Inheritance. And that’s besides my impatient finger drumming for Arabella’s story and salivating for Maude.
cough cough–Sebastian North cough — Klaus — double wedding with Orro’s wedding feast cough.
Famous last words, everything will fall into place after XYZ event(s). The undoing of many a fine soul… who lived to regret speaking them, LOL.
Omg omg it’s happening!!
Haha I had wondered what strategy was used to release the healer! Great maneuver!
I can’t reread right now… do “we” know what happens inside a breach when the anchor is destroyed? I know it eventually disconnects from earth, but I’m a little worried about the spider herders!!!
Nobody who has stayed behind in a breach after it closed has come back to earth to report what happens.
There is all sorts of speculation, but really nobody on earth knows.
Ada’s inheritance, and the fact that she has seen evidence of more than one intelligent race, lends a lot of weight to the theory that the breaches are part of another world, and the gate just connects them to earth. Ada also made a point in one of the early chapters about how the caves are a functioning ecosystem, with evidence of thousands of years of erosion. Stalactites and stalagmites don’t form in weeks, they form over decades or centuries. The richness of the biomes and diversity of species in the breach imply they pre-exist the gates and are part of another world. Unless the gate closing does the equivalent of a nuclear bomb to that other world, it is probably safe to estimate the spider herders will continue to herd their spiders long after Ada and Elias close the gate and escape the breach.
Suuuurrrreee everything will fall into place.
You betcha!!
Cannot WAIT fir this publication!
OMG I fangirlled so hard! Yes koalas are very susceptible to chlamydia and it is a major health issue for them.
Oh dear!
this was fabulous. thank you. can’t wait for Monday! Will Ada make it to the anchor?! 78 times into the breach and I doubt she’s ever seen one.
thank you for lifting up the current on guild politics. Fascinating!
do you think Yasuo was telling the truth???
I appreciate an observant man!
“Everything would fall into place once they entered the gate.”
famous hopefully not last words.
I’d love to see him prepping more for the threat that London ran away from.
Omg, she still has two days and a half to wait , and if Jackson needs to rest they will go in on the fourth day! She would be safer waiting with the new beings she met and sleeping safely there .
Great snippet, I was ghosting blog yesterday, thinking it was Friday. Retired life is sooo hard. So many balls in the air, Elias thinks he has a handle(ha!) and Addy just get more badassed. Thank you, what a story!
So, obviously HA are not subject to triskaidekaphobia, as they quite courageously gave us our Inheritance installment even if it was *gasp* Friday the 13th. I was almost afraid to read it today, and put it off until tomorrow (just in case) but that might have been bad luck also. So I took a deep breath, crossed my fingers (for luck) and read it as bravely as possible. I can happily report that the sky didn’t fall, my tablet didn’t burst into flame, and I enjoyed it immensely. Well I guess that that proves that it IS an irrational fear.
Yes, yes yes. Into the breach.
I have forgotten. When is the projected publication date of this book so I can stop reading it piecemeal and stay up all night to finish it??? Please tell me next week! LOL
Love this story. can’t wait for the baddies to get what they deserve!
We don’t yet have a release date but there will be between 4 to 10 more instalments.
I’m just happy knowing that there are 4 or more segments coming.
Thanks Mod R. You go above and beyond.
Yes! Keep the story going!
I’m from NSW, so to see the plight of the koalas was both sad and wow. Port Macquarie Koala Sanctuary does fabulous work, particularly after the bushfires of 2019 (just before covid).
Loving this story, in all its gloriousness.
Love this story, and hoping to eventually see more in this world! I hope all is well w HA. I really appreciate this week’s posts. Tough week here. Thanks!
I love these installments
Oh no! I’m all caught up, which means now I have to wait a whole week😢.
But seriously, I love these characters and this world.
Not a week, just until Monday.
Never thought I would look forward to Mondays. It’s a shame, it’s Friday and I’m looking forward to Monday. Ruins my weekend😂
🙌
Nice move, Elias! Well played!
Woo-hoo!!!!!! The houses of cards built by the evildoers are tumbling! And meanwhile, back at the ranchhouse … errr, inside the breach …
Fab as always
Yea!
Thanks HA for another exciting chapter.
When is this being released in its entirety?
I’m getting desperate to get cosy and binge read it 😆
We don’t have an official release day yet, but it will be this summer 🙂
I don’t post here often (despite being a long-time, devoted BDH member), but I’ve had a very difficult last couple of months and I wanted to say that the joy, these episodic Inheritance releases bring me, is worth it’s weight in gold. Thank you Author Lords, for the gifts you give us (especially when they involve very cute Shepherd-doggos with obedience deficit disorder) – you may never know just how much these mean! I cannot wait to preorder 💖
Noooo!! Just a little more, pleeeeese… It ended too soon. What about… okay. I guess I have to wait. Thank you again for your wonderful stories. I will be good and wait for the next installment. Really and truly you guys are the best. Thank you! 🥰
I look forward to these posts so much. Thank you. Favorite anime is Solo Leveling.
Happy sigh.
Gear up!!!!! Ride danger on its way:)
Thank you, especially for the cheat sheet on who was what. Another great installment. Yesterday was a bad day, and you made today a great deal better!
I just realized that when this is done, and when we stop getting updates, I am going to be crushed until the book goes live. But it will be exciting when it does
“Everything would fall into place once they entered the gate.” ha ha
When this comes out, I’m going to have to make sure I don’t start reading in the late afternoon or evening, or I’ll be up all night reading to the end. I cannot WAIT for this to come out…
So grateful for the possibility of more chapters! I look forward to reading each installment. I also enjoy the comments, and was gleefully chanting “14 more chapters! Yay for Horde math!” Many thanks for the entertainment, HA, ModR, and the BDH! (Yes, I used ALL the exclamation points 🙂 )
Thank you! Money and lies…
I hope the find Ada and Bear soon.
Love this story! Is there a date of release yet? I thought it was mentioned previously, but I can’t find it. I would love a reminder. Thanks so much!
There is no official date known yet but it’s coming soon. For now, all we know is “this summer” 🙂.
OH my GOSH! Now I want to go back and re-read all the snippets! I am SO hooked
Love this story! There are references to Malcolm in past tense. Was justice rendered or is that coming?
Malcolm and the strike team are not responding to signals or sending the mandatory check ins. They are dead in the breach as concluded in chapter 5 🙂🙂 https://ilona-andrews.com/blog/the-inheritance-chapter-5-part-1/
I thought Malcolm died in the breach with the grenade or was taken out by the grey shroud fungus humaniod, but I don’t think Ada mentioned his body. I’ll have to re-read the scene.
Malcolm was the leader of the strike team. He wasn’t present for the mining team attack 🙂
Oyyy …… Elias has *no idea* what he’s getting into, does he ….
*eeeeeeeeeevil cackling*
Oooh! Love. Dramatic messages sent! About to enter the breach! Very excite.
Great episode. Better and better. This will make a great movie. I just have a feeling about this one. Thank you for the ride. These go in my archive and I don’t want to lose track of them and think I will end up re reading them. Got a feeling about this one HA. Really good. The BDH is so interesting. Had a chance to read more comments this time. Great minds. I thought the chlamydia thing was a joke at first but am enlightened now. I was thinking is this venereal too? Poor animals. Loving the plot development. Really exciting and the comments are exciting. Loving this. Thx. Mod R welcome back. Gords, feel better.
so good!
Can Ada track from the anchor back to the earthside entrance? Thanks for this next update!
