Hello, everybody. Mod R is taking a few days off, which are very deserved. The blog is now back in my incapable hands, muhahaha!
I owe you a tour write-up, which will be posted tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who came to see us! I will report on cities, hotels, funky travel, yarn, and delicious cookies. OMG, if you are the person who gave us the cookies, I must have the recipe.

We don’t know how it did and probably won’t know for a little while. We are not concerned with bestseller placement for this book. It’s the first int he series, and we just hope it will find its audience, whether it will be right away or over time. 🙂 The focus right now is on book 2.

I finished Maggie last night and really enjoyed it! There were some great LOL moments and new characters to love. I’m looking forward to the Maggie site and book#2!

I’m probably not going to be the only one to say this, but Maggie book 2 can’t come out fast enough for us. I made the suggestion that Steve, the ferrets, and Sushi should steal the manuscript for book 2 and make it available without any editing for us to read. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Soooo, Steve is the distraction while the ferrets and Sushi steal the manuscript? Steve is actually pretty good at “Look-At-Me” sorts of missions. Although it’s best if he is in a fireproof area. And there r lots of fire extinguishers nearby. No one wants him to accidentally burn…well anything or anyone, especially precious manuscripts. Maybe his distraction should b far away…?
Also, as a Horde, we r not good at operational security…which might b for the best, all things considered.
Steve would need to channel his inner Doran Arvel. His inner Adam Pearson persona didn’t go over so well the last time. Where were those fire extinguishers when we needed them? 🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣
Is a Stelka squad equipped w fire extinguishers an option? To have on standby anytime Steve is around? It seems like a good idea. And I don’t think the ferrets r big enough.

Welcome back! Glad you had a good trip and yummy cookies. I have read my kindle version of Maggie twice now, and keep wishing for a real copy. I went to 2 different bookstores today and neither had it on the bookshelves, I did buy 4 other books though. Maggie hardback will have to w@it for me to get paid again, unless the special edition details are released before then and are even prettier. I might w@it for the special edition then.
I almost bought the waterstones uk edition when that preorder came out, but the site didn’t like my us debit card, or the bank didn’t like that I was trying to order from overseas, and they sold out before I decided it was worth figuring out the issue.

I found this Texas Sheet Cake Cookies Recipe and was immediately hooked because they looked both delicious and I knew from making other cake mix derived cookies that they would be easy to make as well:
Ingredients
Cookie Ingredients
15.25 oz Chocolate cake mix
2 Eggs
⅓ cup Vegetable Oil
Chocolate Icing Ingredients
½ cup Butter room temperature
2 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder
3 Tablespoon Milk
2.5 cups Confectioners Powdered Sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cookies
1. Combine chocolate cake mix (I used Pillsbury Moist Supreme Devil’s Food, 15.25 oz), vegetable oil (I used Canola, but coconut or any other oil would work, too!), and eggs in a bowl. Mix until combined (it’s going to be dense, almost solid).
2. Scoop (I like small chewy cookies, so I used a medium cookie scoop) onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
3. Bake for 7-8 minutes (I recommend 7 minutes with the medium cookie scoop; I tried 8 and they were edible but smelled slightly burned (those I kept for myself – I gave HA the best of the batch, of course!!).
4. Cool on a wire rack
Chocolate Icing
1. Combine butter, cocoa, and milk in a small saucepan over medium heat.
2. Whisk until the mixture has melted together.
3. Remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar until smooth.
4. Pour icing over cookies and spread with a spoon. I had a good cup of icing leftover as I wanted to make sure I could cover all of the cookies – feel free to eat with a spoon as your reward for making the cookies!
5. Allow frosting to cool before serving.

I also love making banana pudding with mini chocolate chips cookies, too – sooo good…drool…the frosting from above would work on these, too – but I’ve made them by dropping the unbaked cookie dough in a bowl of confectioner’s sugar and rolling them around before placing on the cookie sheet to bake. I used Dolly Parton’s banana pudding cake mix and just folded in a cup of mini semi sweet chocolate chips after the ‘dough’ was mixed – the 2 eggs and 1/3 cup vegetable oil plus 7 minute baking time is the same as above.

Maggie, now Graphic Audio of Diamond fire ahhh. So much goodies. Loved Maggie, loved the new characters and new world to explore.
The Diamond Fire samples were great, I liked the way they did her siren voice verses normal.

I enjoy the GA audios of the Hidden Legacy series more than I enjoyed reading the books. I’ve read the Kate Daniels series and the Inn Keeper multiple times, Hidden Legacy only once. But I’ve listened to the GA audios of Hidden Legacy probably 4 times each.
I got my precious, I mean my Waterstone’s hard copy of Maggie yesterday. It is BEAUTIFUL!! My precious!! Now I have all the things, the ebook, the audio, and the precious. It’s been a good book month!
