Woke up today without power. So here is the first fire of the season.
The power came back on and we put 2,300 words on Hidden Legacy. It’s an emotionally violent novel, because everyone gets ripped open: Alessandro has to give up his secrets, Catalina and Nevada have a really heart breaking scene, Alessandro and Catalina have a heartbreaking scene, something awful happens in connection with Leon. But all of that takes a little bit of build up and we’re about to hit the point where all the feelings are going to start getting slashed.
All of last week unfortunately had to go into things like jury duty and car buying, which is never the funnest thing for me. So today is finally a chill day. I have a cup of Qianjiazhai black tea. I really prefer the He family black tea, because it has this awesome chocolatey flavor, but they’ve run out. It’s a tragedy.
In a few minutes I’ll dig into the second writing session. I’ll probably make some oolong. By the way, when I ask important marketing questions and you answer it with “Yes” and “Whatever you want” it’s not helpful. 😉
Also I am playing World of Warcraft again. I’ve made a priest and a hunter. My hunter is 82 now and I took her to Pandarea. Gordon, who is much higher level, is running around with me. I am really enjoying just exploring a game. My only regret is not having a guild, because I can’t get some of the heirloom items that let you level faster, but then I’m not a good dungeon companion, so I wouldn’t necessarily be a guild asset. Back when we played regularly, about 6 or 7 years ago, I played a priest. The guild I belonged to didn’t do dungeons often, and so I would end up with a random group. Once in a while someone would die, because they either weren’t properly geared or didn’t know the dungeon and they would freak out on me. So I gave up on dungeons.
We did do one, so far. We asked Kid 2, who has a demon knight, to run us through a dungeon, and we basically ran behind her while she slaughtered everything in sight and yelled from upstairs, “Keep up! Why are you so slow?”
If we hit our second writing goal for the day, I get to play. Well, I’m off.
