First!??? Woot
Irishmadchen says
This is great! Little did we know that Dinah was an honorary pirate. e.g. “physics are just a guidline”…..
Dingo Baby says
Ooh…I know what I’m listening to next.
Mel says
Innkeeper is my favourite series and the one I use to introduce my friends to House Andrews. Because who doesn’t enjoy a drunk vampire?
Patricia Schlorke says
Especially dancing among the apple trees. 😀
I loved Karat’s conversation with Maud in Sweep of the Blade when she commented that Arland gave her 10 pounds of coffee for a present. A whole vampire battalion can get drunk on that much coffee.
Fiona says
I clicked on your blog, randomly and not expecting to see another post so soon, and saw this! I realised awhile ago (thanks to another one of your posts), that despite my deep heartfelt love for all of your series, it’s the Innkeeper series I read when I need a comfort read. Looking forward to listening!
Tasha A says
This is me as well!
Cheryl Tittle says
This is me too! Anytime that I need comfort, such as pillows/blankets, chocolate, etc., I read the Innkeeper Chronicles. I would sooo love to stay at Gertrude Hunt!
Elle says
Me too. In fact, I’m re-reading the series now.
Leanne says
I loved the podcast, Innkeeper is one of my favourite series of all.
laj says
That was great! The girl sounds like Emily Blunt. Thank you.
Jeanne says
Loved the interview! Whetted my appetite to read the series again—can’t count the number of times I have read it thru…. It’s like macaroni and cheese a comfort food… InnKeeper is a comfort read. More please!!!!
Colleen C. says
I am just getting into podcasts and always looking for new ones. This is great!
Raye says
I feel just as they do! Innkeeper is my go-to comfort read. And the Girl and the Librarian were wonderful. What a nice way to start the morning.
Mary says
I think Gertrude Hunt is an awesome name for an inn!! 😀 Loving this chat – “it then turned into slightly more than they expected” LOL!! 😀
Kelly J Jacobs says
This was such a fun listen!
The Innkeeper series is a wonderful read, and made for a facinating podcast. Thank you for sharing.
Arlenys says
My listening isn’t all that good! ???? even though they pronounce clearly there were many words I didn’t understand ????????????
Moderator R says
I’ll try to find a transcript for you, if that would help ????
JR says
It has the setting option to turn on subtitles/cc option in menu which gives a good enough transcript if you listen to the podcast using full-screen to read the subtitles. Fun to listen to.
Did not expect a blog post this weekend. It was worth it. Looking for new reading material this weekend & I came across this book/new author- has anyone read Taming Demon’s for Beginners by Annette Marie?
Autumn says
Love Annette Marie … That book is part of a bigger series …interconnected world basically of about 16+ books…. Go to her website to see the reading order.
JR says
Thanks Autumn!
Sadie says
One of my favorites. Definitely find the reading order!
Jen says
I really enjoyed that series!
Emily says
YES! Love it. Just discovered her recently that is to this blog or Jessie’s I can’t remember and devoured 2 series.
JR says
My new favorite phrase is ” Let me guess. It was for science.”
Ref: Slaying Monsters for the Feeble by Annette Marie
Angela L says
Have not. Love R.J. Blain ‘s Magical Romantic Comedy series (With a Body Count). Hysterically funny, but NOT fluff. Great continuity, and worldbuilding. Wonderful balance of light and dark.
Cessie says
Now I cannot unsee Henry Cavil as Arland now.
Basically everything they said abt Innkeeper series. Yes!
Kat says
The Innkeeper series is my absolute favorite! Whenever you guys put out another story, I wait until I can read it all the way through, and savor it. Dinah is lovely, and I love that she isn’t afraid of wielding her broom when she needs to!
Tasha A says
Gotta go re read these books again. Thanks for the intro to the podcast! Have to subscribe!!
Valerie says
AGGH. How wonderful. But I can’t find the podcast. Where is it??
Moderator R says
Hey Valerie,
The second picture is a video; if you press play it will start the podcast ????
Anne H says
Love this series…can’t wait for more
William B says
Listening to this raises the question of pronunciation. Please House Andrews, is it Deena with a long E sound, or Dinah with a long I sound?
Moderator R says
The character name is spelled Dina, it rhymes with Tina, Gina, Mina etc.
As always, though, everyone is encouraged to pronounce it however they are more comfortable ????.
William B says
Thanks. Since at 60+ years old I still can’t spell I grabbed the spelling from another poster without looking for myself.
SJ says
Love this explanation, & reminders of rhyming names. I got sidetracked with the old colonial/maybe railroad song with the line “someone’s in the kitchen with Dinah” and so I couldn’t remove that pronunciation from my brain.
Geunita Ringold says
Loved the podcast ????. Is it only on YouTube? I couldn’t find it with my other podcasts. Thanks for sharing.
Moderator R says
Yes, the podcast is only on Youtube, but they have a fun Twitter account too ????
Amy McDonald says
This was so fun to listen too!! I love the Innkeeper series, now I want to do a reread lol!! But I have a question, I was pronouncing her name in my head as Di- na( long I). But in this podcast they are pronouncing it as Dee-na( long E) which is correct? I hope you guys write more Innkeeper books!! Thank you for sharing!!
Moderator R says
Hey Amy,
As always, House Andrews encourages everyone to pronounce the names as you feel more comfortable.
The name is spelled Dina, intended to rhyme with Tina, Gina, Mina etc.
Hope this helps ????
Johanna J says
Loved the podcast chat. Thanks for sharing. Just finished re-reading the Innkeeper series (Dina, Sean, Maud, Arland, Helen and all the wonderful characters).
Patricia Schlorke says
Thank you! This is a wonderful synopsis of the Innkeeper series. I may reread Innkeeper after I finish reading Kate and company. ????
When the Hope Crushing Horde was mentioned, it reminded me of the conversation of what to call all of us commenting in the blog. ????
NSum says
One reason (of myriad) I love Innkeeper is we get to keep up with the Edgers.
Bibliovore says
I opened the podcast and could not stop listening. Thank you! An excellent review of Innkeeper. I will be sharing with others so they know why I recommended the books.
Jenn S says
Loved it! It’s been awhile since I read the first inkeepers and now I’m going to have to reread. It also reminded me how much I loved George and company.
Marsha loneagle says
This series is one of the very few books where I own the kindle, audible and hardback versions. Bliss
Kristel says
LOVE this series. Who wouldn’t want a sentient house you can re-decorate everyday just by using your imagination? Whenever I start measuring a room and spend hours on my computer designing in Photoshop my husband knows it means money is going to be spent…..
Olga says
The Innkeeper series holds a special place in my heart! I’ve ready them over and over so many times. I always go back to it when i want to read something great! Never gets old!!♥️
SJ says
What a delightful podcast! Love both Librarian & Host/Reader Fan, & now I want to listen to them forever! Also, delightful to listen to male fans! Patriarchy be damned, I don’t always assume guys are interested in books I’d be into, so it is always an extra surprise & bit of fun.
Ginny says
Thank you for sharing! Innkeeper is my favorite and ultimate comfort read!
Therese Kent says
Loved this podcast, time I did a reread as I forgot a lot of this ????
Aida says
“Magnificent Bastard”
Well said.
In my wildest speculation I imagine Caldenia orchestrated Dina’s parents disappearance just to have a future refuge.
Again, “wild” is the word.
Marisa says
This was wonderful! Now off to reread innkeeper for the 4th time. ????????
Girl (and her librarian) says
Thank you so much for the blog post of our chat and all the wonderful comments, things kinda blew up on YouTube overnight will all the wonderful comments and new subscribers.

Maria Z says
Listened to the podcast and left comments. Thanks for the link.
Reading suggestion, try Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London series, very good.
Nifty says
Thanks for that. Listening to them inspired me to do a re-listen. I’m listening to One Fell Sweep (#3, the introduction of Maud and Helen).
Leslie Cates says

Quirky and fun is how I describe th Innkeeper Chronicles to my friends!

Oh thank you for this!!! I love the innkeeper series. Maud and Arland could be my favourite story of all the Andrew’s universe. And I love all of the other series SO much.
I think I like the parenting aspect and still finding time for romance and veritable bad guy arse kicking
:sighs happily:
Really looking forward to the next innkeeper instalment. I want to know what happens with Klaus being back!!
