Remember my addiction to renovation shows? Well, there is a game called House Flipper where you get to take dilapidated houses and renovate them. I bought it a couple of years ago, and in the middle of my renovation marathon, I fired it up. I want to show you my awesome renovation work.

Fast forward a few hours. The house is now renovated and a new tenant moved in. ::Doing her renovation host voice: Let’s check this out.

Nice car
Someone sure loves English roses…
Front door. Let’s go inside.
Marble in the hallway. A bit ostentatious, but okay.
Swords? What is this doohicky on the wall? Looks kind of sharp. Alarm system is always a good idea, though.
A spa? Someone must really love raising their core temperature.
Swords in a spa? Seriously?
Let’s go through that black door next.
A luxurious bedroom. Sensing a theme here with colors. Some weird old books by the fireplace…
I feel like this art is trying to tell me something... What the hell is all this? Who needs guns, knives, and flame thrower fuel in the bedroom. I mean, this is past the home defense. This is full on paranoia. What does this person even do for a living? Let’s go before something explodes.
Woo, marble. That is some shower.
Another sword. Shower, sink, bathtub, washer, dryer… Where is the toilet? What kind of a bathroom doesn’t have a toilet?

Living room. More weird books. Umm is that? In the window? Nice antique desk though.
What a beautiful Victorian sofa…
Fireplace – check, giant tv- check, pictures probably of friends or family – check. What is that blue thing? Is this a weapon of some sort? You know what, guns don’t even faze me anymore in this house… Let’s look at that desk. There was laptop on it, maybe it will shed some light on the owners…

    I do like the marble. And the swords, although maybe not quite so many. But maybe it’s the way to display a collection. Also, that black door was awesome. Full disclosure, I looked at some like that when we were finishing the basement powder room. It wasn’t really the way I wanted to go for a powder room though.

    • I am pretty sure Evan and Katelyn (YouTubers in Texas) have some videos of them playing this on their gaming channel.

    However, this is right up Veritas & Ian’s lifestyle 🙂

  14. I actually own House Flipper and gave never played it! It’s embarrassing but I have a to be played pile same as a to be read pile. But if the websites didn’t send me these emails for vaguely interesting looking games on the cheap then I wouldn’t buy them all! (No lie, I have almost 50 games in my GOG library alone and have played less than half! Then there’s Steam and Origin. . . )
    I’m going to have to give House Flipper a proper go I guess. Better clear some space on the hard drive ????

    • I have the same problem. Over the holiday break I managed to move some of the TBP into a Never to be Played pile. It’s all those extra games from steam bundles.

  25. What does it say about me that the first thing I recognized in that last room was the HALO sword hanging on the wall? LOL!

  27. LOL. I love it! On the bathroom page I thought well vampires would not need the bathroom – maybe this is a spook’s house. On the page with the pictures of friends or family I immediately thought that look’s like Cat and Bones! Loved it! I already have the book pre-purchased and I am waiting to read it.

  28. Hehehe I too have this game and really like playing it, though it is by no means perfect, but that’s okay. The recent update helped though, and definitely made it easier to play. I occasionally let my 6-year-old go to town on it, leading to… bright colours. As in full-on clown colours ????
    I really laughed after this setup ???? So rather than being Rick-rolled, are we now Jeaniene-rolled? ????

  29. Awsome! It was the book cover on the wall that finally gave it away for me. Although I was suspicious of the bathroom with no toilet!

    I may have to buy this game. My current stress reliever activity is watching hair cut/color videos. Very relaxing!

  38. That is so fun! Home building and decorating is the single reason I am addicted to Sims 4. Never actually “played” the games, but house design? Love it.

    • I also thought it could belong to several of their characters, and I didn’t get it until the cover art on the wall. The missing toilet went right over my head.

    • Literally what I was thinking. Swords? Kate. But then I saw the sniper gun, so I thought, oh, the new Baylor residence? Swords could be Catalina’s.

    P.S.
    Do you do Sims? If you want to build and remodel and redecorate, Sims (Sims 3 is especially great for builders, the best in my opinion) is great fun.

  58. I remember, don’t know how many years ago, when Jeanine first mention Kate Daniels series on her blog. I don’t remember if it was magic bite or other… I look for them in the library, I had no kindle by then, and bought ‘La Magia Muerde’, it was the Spanish version, it had a cool front page with a half face of Kate, hair long no visible, probably braided at the back.
    I loved it.
    The rest is history ????. Great history.

    • Washing machine in the bathroom is the common way of doing things in continental Europe.
      It doesn’t have a toilet because it’s a vampire house ????

    Ok, now I’m on the vampire thing, but I started to come to say — European bathrooms. The norm here is the toilet is in an entirety separate room from the bathroom. When we moved, I had a wish for a toilet with a sink, which I didn’t get, although that is becoming more common in renos.

    Further proof that Europe is entirely peopled by vampires.

  78. Okay, I admit it. I didn’t get it. Until the missing toilet in the bathroom. First a snort, then a serious case of the giggles. Everyone needs a friend like you. So glad two of my all time favorite authors met and enjoy each other’s company. Please keep each other writing for many years to come. I am aware that my sentences are incomplete, but that was where the long pauses were so there you go.

  81. *sigh* So, I went and bought this game (it was on sale on steam and there was only 7 minutes left of the sale!) And started playing it the other day, and I am odly addicted. So thank-you for the fun and interesting game recommendation!

  90. Was wondering if it was Catalina’s new digs before I reached the end! Great promo, and it works – apparently I have not pre-ordered this book yet, and have just done so! So glad to see I’ve got a new Jeaniene Frost book to look forward to soon!
