“Do we have a family chart for the Baylors and all their cousins? Even one with unnamed relatives/ unknown people listed? I have a really hard time when reading the books or the blog comments connecting everyone outside of the Grandmas, Mama P and three sisters.” T.
Ok, strap in!
🚨 There are no spoilers in this breakdown if you’ve read all the published books 🚨, but it does contain a little extra information. This comes either from the Hidden Legacy portal that used to exist on this website or sneaky bits from House Andrews Q&As. You’re not going to tell on me, will you 😉. As always though, if it’s not in print it’s subject to change, so please be mindful of that. It stops at Emerald Blaze, the most recent book at present moment for this post.
Grandparents Generation:

Frida Afram: Magister Exemplaria (pattern mage) of unknown level, with a mechanical specialisation. Frida is an Army veteran and runs her own garage business, where she “talks” to the armoured vehicles Houston Houses bring to her to fix. She adores her grandchildren and drama, as well as her tank Romeo and taking a blowtorch to her latest knitting project.
Leon Afram: Magus Sagittarius (sharpshooter mage), Notable level, threat-based like his grand-daughter Nevada. He was also in the Army. Originally from Quebec, he was Black Canadian. He and Frida encountered problems for being a mixed race couple, but love conquered all.

Victoria Tremaine: Prime Truthseeker, Head of House Tremaine. After 12 miscarriages and the death of the man she loved, she bought the sperm of a Prime donor and used the comatose Misha Marcotte as a surrogate mother for her son, James. She was horrible to James, in the hopes of toughening him up, and currently uses the same merciless hand with the Baylors. After James’ disappearance, she frightened the Prime world with her ruthless interrogation techniques. Self admitted “abomination”. Currently held at Shenandoah State Correctional Facility, a luxury Prime prison, for her involvement in the Caesar conspiracy.
Unknown Male Prime of House (previously known as) Molpe: Greek Siren, excised from his House and found by Victoria when he was “terrified to use his power because it brought him nothing but misery”. House Molpe has changed their name as it gave too much of a clue into their Siren talent. They claimed only women of the line inherited it, and chose to have only male descendants. BDH theories about him abound, but The Cool Aunt lets us know he is alive and well and still in contact with La Tremaine.
Misha Marcotte: Metamorphosis Prime, Beast of Cologne. Lost her humanity and reason whilst in Beast form. Purportedly drowned in the Rhine by combined European military forces, she was in fact kept under constant sedation, in human form. Victoria Tremaine used her as a surrogate and subsequently had her sterilised. Misha’s talent passed onto James through maternal microchimerism and from him to his youngest daughter, Arabella. Misha is deceased.
Parents Generation:
James Baylor: A magic carrier, but with no manifest magic talent of his own. Son of Victoria Tremaine, he ran away from her and lived his entire life in hiding. He chose the surname Baylor at random from a Houston telephone book, picking one of the most common options. Married Penelope when they were both very young and became primary carer for the children when she went in the military. With Penelope, formally adopted her nephews, Bern and Leon. Started Baylor Investigative Agency and set the family up with a way to earn their living as well as a solid principle foundation on how to live their lives. Died of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumour (MPNST) when Nevada was 19.
Penelope Baylor: Magus Sagittarius of unknown level, not threat based. Sniper, Army veteran and former POW, Penelope returned from the war with PTSD. The kind that makes it extremely difficult to adjust to civilian life, similar to Rogan’s. If you have to fight, fight to kill. In an altercation with her sister Gisela and her boyfriend at the time, the latter threatened and tried to grab Bern and Leon, who were already living with Penelope. She tried her best to break his neck. He survived and pressed charges against Penelope, which caused her to lose her PI licence. The charges rolled through the court system and were dismissed on the condition that Penelope underwent therapy, which she did, but her licence was never reinstated. Currently is in charge of the security of House Baylor.

Gisela Afram: Magus Sagittarius, unknown level. Penelope’s sister and “not the best mother” (understatement) to Bern and Leon. Her two sons have different fathers, who are unknown but heavily speculated on by the BDH. Current whereabouts (as of EB) at the Royal Club inside Zona Rosa of Mexico City.
Arrosa Rogan: Prime Telekinetic and dual Empath. For more on her family of origin, the Ramirez, please see the family tree at the beginning of Diamond Fire because we could be here for years. Mother to Connor Rogan and mentor to Catalina Baylor. Current whereabouts: the Basque region in Spain, but she has a big house in Texas she wants Rogan and Nevada to fill with grandchildren.
Will Rogan: Prime Telekinetic of outstanding rank, like his son. Came from an incredibly straight laced family. After surviving several murder attempts, he was obsessed with producing a Telekinetic Sensate offspring so they would be safe. Shrewd businessman. Deceased.
Marcello Sagredo: Prime Antistasi, Count Sagredo. Murdered by Arkan at a the wedding of his best friend roughly 15 years ago, when he tried to defend the groom, who was the true target. Survived by his wife, 3 youngest children (including Alessandro) and his father.
Sigourney Etterson: Prime Venenata, Former Gold Staff of the Texas Assembly. Single mother to Runa, Halle and Ragnar, all Prime Venenatas. Secretly an assassin working for Diatheke. Deceased.
James Tolbert: Significant Purifier, ex-husband of Sigourney and father of the 3 Etterson siblings. Whereabouts unknown, good for nothing.

Main Characters Generation:
Nevada Baylor: Prime Truthseeker (Magus Elenchus), untested level Magus Sagittarius, threat based (never misses if shooting at someone who endangers her life). Very magically powerful, but started off without much magical education. Took over the Baylor family business at 17 and operated in crisis mode for years. Instrumental in saving Houston several times over and dismantling the plots of the Caesar conspiracy. Head of House Baylor and of the family business until her late 20s. Currently House Rogan. Gave birth to the her son, Arthur, at the end of Emerald Blazes and is enjoying her HEA with Mad Rogan.
Catalina Baylor: Siren Prime, Magus Sagittarius of untested level (with blade specialisation). Very sheltered in her childhood due to the effects of her power, Catalina is now the Head of House Baylor, runs Baylor Investigative Agency and is the Deputy Warden of Texas. Unlike most other mages, she doesn’t need to expand effort in order to use her talent, but rather in order to keep her power from “spilling”. Extremely intelligent, she is an expert in magical theory, House contracts, Prime life etc. She has mentors in Arrosa Rogan, Linus Duncan and Victoria Tremaine, the latter being also her primary enemy. In love with her now fiancé, Alessandro Sagredo, since her teen years.
Arabella Baylor: Prime Mage Metamorph, Beast of Cologne. Can access various traits of her Beast (strength, olfactory sense etc) in human form. Can keep her humanity and reason in her shifted form. Youngest Baylor, she is sensitive and temperamental as well as very practical and observant. Likes cute guys and would rather nope on Maths (a whole entire mood). Underestimate at your own peril.
Bern Baylor: Upper range Significant Magister Exemplaria, like his Grandmother Frida, but primarily IT manifestation. Gentle and level-headed giant, he is the background checker of the Baylor Investigative Agency and reliable to a fault. Tall, muscled and a wrestling and judo athlete. In a relationship with Runa Etterson (“leaves the house for her” level of in love, so it’s definitely serious).
Leon Baylor: Magus Sagittarius, like the Grandfather he is named after, not threat based. Dark Horse of House Baylor, refuses to get formally tested. Never misses a shot and can plan bullet trajectories. Hilarious, if a bit disturbed sense of humour. Suffered a lot as a teenager thinking he lacked magical talent and physical prowess. Mad Rogan fanboy (who amongst us can cast the first stone?).
Baylor spouses or confirmed hunny-buns:
Connor Rogan: Telekinetic Prime, Tactile and weak empath/telepath gift. Also known as El Huracan, Mad Rogan, Sexy Drago…ahem. I got distracted. Where were we? Right, rebellious teenager, military career where he got used as a demolition superhero by the Army. Constantly in war mode until he meets the love of his life, Nevada Baylor, and opened to the world again. A billionaire, has multiple businesses, including his own security team, Castra, and staff of military rescues. He’s very funny (just ask Peaches), loves chocolate mousse and is best friends with Pancakes Montgomery, for his sins.
Alessandro Sagredo: Antistasi Prime, excised son and heir of the aristocratic Venetian House Sagredo. Code names: The Artisan, The Wolf. Witnessed the death of his father at the hands of Arkan when he was 10 years old and has made it his life mission to get revenge. Posed as superficial Eurotrash international playboy whilst working as the assassin’s assassin. Has 1 piece Evil Grandfather, 1 mother, 2 sisters, a deceased father, and a deceased older brother who died as a baby. Loves spicy peppers but they do not love him back. Currently the Keeper to the the Deputy Warden of Texas- in other words doing what he loves most, which is protecting Catalina Baylor, his one true love.
Runa Etterson: Prime Venenata, Head of House Etterson. Older sister to Halle and Ragnar, best friend of Catalina, serious girlfriend (wants to join the family) of Bern. Very loyal to House Baylor, who helped her when no one would. Helped save Nevada and Rogan’s wedding and instrumental in saving Grandma Frida’s life in EB.
Benjiro Heart: Sgt Heart is Rogan’s second in command. The Baylors tip toe around Penelope’s relationship with Benjiro for fear of pushing too much, and so shall we. (But also, Penjiro 4ever!)
Grandkids generation:
Arthur Rogan– the Bébé (Moira Rose accent). Prime Telekinetic for sure, and who knows what else (except House Andrews). Newborn at the end of EB, we already know he gets up to a lot of adorable trouble.

Whoa! Go Mod R! That’s a great way to depict the entire Hidden Legacy series for those who are new to the books. 😀
Yes, we will tiptoe very quietly around the Penelope/Benjiro thing going on. 😉
This is awesome! Thanks so much!

+1 ????
+1!
Family trees are complicated to write and worse to understand. I think you did GREAT!
I keep going back and forth between a prime of house Molpe not necessarily being a prime siren and wondering if one can have two prime magics. Perhaps a non prime siren would be described as charming rather than infatuation inducing?
Look at me not saying absolutely anything about the Siren situation. Seriously, observe 😀 .
Completely unrelated however, regarding the “two prime level magics” thing, yes, it is possible:
““He’s a Prime,” Rogan said.
You don’t say. “What sort of magic?”
“He’s a dual fulgur and aero Prime, highest certification in both.”
Holy crap. Alexander Sturm controlled both wind and lightning. “Nice name.””
Andrews, Ilona. Wildfire, Hidden Legacy 3. Avon HarperCollins, 2017. Kindle edition, page 202.
Wasn’t there also that cryptic and random “Dual” comment by Rogan when the family was talking about Nevada’s magus Sagittarius status? 😉
Dual Mage ≠ Dual Prime.
Nevada has two magical talents but only one of them, her Truthseeker power, is of Prime level.
I hope this helped 🙂
This is soooo coool. I really like the link to microchimeraism, as an explanation of Arabella’s primary talent.
Way to go, Mod R!
Nice dodge???? on the siren speculation, btw, tee hee!
I think the microchimerism idea is interesting, but I’m not sure how it would work to get something down to the next generation. The germline goes down through a single sperm cell to each of his daughters. Cells originating from his surrogate mother would not pass through the germline.
It’s a world of powerful talents influenced by a Serum :). Magic finds a way.
Leon Afram – I think we don’t know what happened to him. Do you?
I don’t remember anything certain. Nevada has only vague memories of him, so he likely passed away quite a while ago. There’s a bit about him needing help:
“Your dad did a good job taking care of you, and later, of your sisters. He built a business that still puts food on our table. And when Grandpa Leon needed help, your dad always offered it and never once asked for any acknowledgment. He was a good man, your father. I was proud of him and proud to be his wife.”
Andrews, Ilona. White Hot, Hidden Legacy 2. Avon HarperCollins, 2017.Kindle edition, page 145
And I have to assume, no relatives from Leon’s branch of the tree? Or twigs on grandma Frida’s side (siblings, nephews, nieces, etc)?
Families can be funny. My mom knew all of her second and even third cousins. My dad grew up in the same city as a bunch of first cousins that he didn’t even know existed until we started doing genealogical research (estranged sisters, nobody living know why).
Considering who his mother was, a father was as alien to him as a loving family. Or just a family in general
I didn’t know misha was dead. How did that happen?
We are left to draw our own conclusions given the circumstances she was kept in and the fact that she would have been in her 70s when the HL books take place.
Gotcha, thank you Mod R!
“Connor Rogan: Telekinetic Prime, Sensate and weak empath/telepath gift.” Does sensate mean what sensate means in the Kate Daniels world?
That is my bad, he is not a Sensate, he is a Tactile, fixed it above. His father wanted him to be a Sensate, who could sense when he was in danger. Instead he is a Tactile, he can make you feel touched.
Much to Nevada’s delight! 😀
Random question:
Can Arabela actively or passively determine if Augustine is nearby by smell? Unlike the guard dogs, she has met him repeatedly. (I suspect that this will be cleared up if she gets her own trilogy and HEA)
Whoa, i missed how Penelope lost her PI license! thank you for this!
I knew she had lost it but couldn’t remember the circumstances.
I absolutely love this kind of stuff, thank you so much!
This is for ModR, and need not be published:
Think the “not” in this paragraph needs to be deleted:
“Benjiro Heart: Sgt Heart is Rogan’s second in command. The Baylors tip toe around Penelope’s relationship with Benjiro for fear of not pushing too much, and so shall we. (But also, Penjiro 4ever!)”
Since if they are “tip-toeing,” they are being careful not to push. So wouldn’t fear “not pushing” but would fear “pushing too much.”
This looks like a carefully edited sentence…it happens. So thought you might like the chance to correct.
Love your character summaries and family trees!
“Go ModR!!!”
Thank you, fixed it ????
Also, love the Penjiro shipper name. And the “let the ships sail” comment next to Arabella.
Nice overview. Lovely to refresh before a new read but I usually don’t have a Problem keeping the characters straight 🙂
Btw
Shouldn’t it say Connor Rogan Tactile instead of Sensate in the family tree? 🙂
Yep, took a bit to fix the graph, it now reads correctly 🙂
Isn’t Alessandro a dual or triple Prime? He is able to summon weapons and jump out of windows from the second floor without getting hurt. I have no idea what kind of magic those would be. Grabius? Bounceius?
Those are all part of his Antistasi talent ????
Bounceius ????
OMG!! Mod R!!! We are SO lucky to have you! What a great compilation! Saying Thank you isn’t nearly enough, but it’s all I have. The BDH is so much better for your presence. Oh, and Thank you to House Andrews for creating such an addictive world!!
+1 Absolutely!!!
+1
+1 That’s a huge level of effort. Thank you!
This is so amazing and all these extras are just making me that more excited for Ruby Fever! Your Burn For Me series remains of my favorites of all time, thank you!
Wow! This was a lot of finicky work – and you pulled it off beautifully.
Kudos to you, ModR!
This needs to be on the site somewhere, so we can find (and update) it as we know more.
Something this good should not be wasted.
Family lines and descriptions. Thank you for that, you are awesome!
Enjoyed this immensely! A lot of work for you, but a joy to read! Thank you!
Many of the recent posts are from the moderator. I can only hope that Ilona and Gordon are resting and recovering from all the issues. Thank you moderator for this amazing family chart. I hope that soon we can have the name of the father of James.
Thank you!
This is awesome! Thank you for yet another great posting (as usual) Moderator R! ????
Mod R, this blog post is a real work of art – and I don’t just mean the graphs!
Also, this line re: Catalina – She has mentors in Arrosa Rogan, Linus Duncan, and Victoria Tremaine – made me go ????. I mean, I knew they all mentored her in some capacity but seeing those three names in one line . . . well, that’s an all-star cast of mentors right there.
I do not have the brain power for this today. I hope to find this again the week of Thanksgiving or when I’m trapped somewhere cold with extended family.
Awesome! Thank you ????
Why are Catalina & Alessandro so cute even in their descriptions?
Also, the ‘Eurotrash’ reference made me grin – that whole scene is one of my favourites in EB.
Also, also, ‘and who knows what else’??? Did grandpa Rogan finally get his long awaited telekinetic/telepath? (Am I guilty of channeling everyone in the KDU
*spoiler*
pre-Conlan shift? Yes)
I had to put the Eurotrash in there, it made me laugh so hard in the books ????
Nicely done.
Cornelius? Because he is basically like family …
Yes, I know, but then I would never stop ????
????
Oh wow!! Thanks for putting this together!
After reading EB, I have one question, not sure if this is the place to be asking this:
House Baylor still doesn’t have a House spell, like older Houses do. Catalina is working on this, and makes a breakthrough at the end of EB.
However, older Houser are more “specialized” than the Baylors (in the sense that their powers run along the same lines, while House Baylor has Prime sisters with very different powers)
So, how would a House spell developed by Catalina work for Arabella? Or what matters is the design of the spell, and effects will vary depending on the wielder?
I think they will develope multiple house spells. If you remember, Nevada developed the wavy lines in her circle when interrogating the Summoner House. I don’t remember those lines appearing in Catalina’s circle.
And what would a circle do for Arabella? Would she develope it or would it be research done by future generations?
That leads to the question: would house Baylor become three new houses with each branch of magic?
Which leads to the question: do each of the Baylor daughters carry all the magical genes dormantly, or are they only capable of passing on their personal magic?
The wavy lines weren’t developed by Nevada. They are part of the Tremaine truthseeking magic.
Nevada added them herself, she never saw the Tremaine House Spell, the lines just “felt right.”
It just so happens that she intuitively drew something that may be on the path to the Tremaine House Spell, but it may end up different if she develops it further
I thought the wavy lines were in Catalina’s circle- I thought that’s what she meant by “the Tremaine targeting band.”
You’re right, she does include them when she has the epiphany when drawing her circle in the swamp. (Emerald Blaze Ch.16 pg. 364. Andrews, Ilona)
Now the question becomes, would that circle work for Nevada, or is it keyed specifically to Catalina.
When did Arosa Rogan change into a prime telekinetic? I forget which book it was in, but I recall that when Rogan was first describing House genetics and how his parents met, he described his mother as being an empath with a minor telekinetic talent. Rogan’s father was “obsessed” with trying to breed some form of precognition into his children so that they could see and anticipate any threats against them. Wasn’t this why he would choose someone who’s main talent is being an empath, but also have a telekinetic (but as a minor) talent to keep the telekinetic talent in the bloodline?
I feel like it suddenly changed in Diamond Fire and Arosa (and the entire Ramirez family) became prime telekinetics when I thought their original power would fall along being an empath.
Yeah, I remember wondering about this as well. But then I realized that I was reading fiction, and sometimes, it just works better to let it go and read as if you never saw that she had minor telekinetic and major empathic power. I actually went back and reread where Rogan said that about his mother, and that’s what it said — his father was hunting for empathic power for his children. I kind of figured that after surviving so many attempts to kill her, perhaps she just had to work hard to enhance her telekinetic abilities because she had to use the wheelchair? But the truth is, it doesn’t matter, because in fiction, things change according to the needs of the story lines in the book. The only prime telekinetic in Arosa’s family is a very young child. The rest are pretty ho-hum.
+1
I remember Ilona answering it in the blog somewhere.
Paraphrased: Arosa being a prime telekinetic made a better story
Think of it this way: would Mad Rogan truly be Mad Rogan if he freely divulged exact information about his mother’s power and ability to defend herself to anyone after such a short time? (no matter how much this anyone made him think of baseball and buying thousands of carnations 😉 )
We base our knowledge on the more recent appearances of the character, not on a paranoid Prime’s unreliable narration 🙂 .
????
Now I want to reread HL…again 🙂
This is awesome – thank you!!!
Don’t know why they call them family trees, more like webs that suck you to your doom!
Anyone else “shipping” (gosh I hate that term) Arabella & Henry Jiang?
Yes – although I’m shipping Stephen Jiang and Arabella!!
Yes, definitely Henry! Pretty, closer to her age, and not into following the dictates of House life. The kind of guy who could be really into a strong, hot, woman and not worry about her magic being compatible or the fact that she turns into a giant drooling monster.
Yes! And there was some off the wall comment in Emerald Blaze like setting up an entire plot. Something with secret Kung Fu and a thunder punch stopping a demon king.
Nope! I’m all for Arabella and Michael (Records Keeper Michael, not Latimer or Rivera). Michaelbella?
Thank you so much! This is so helpful! I took a screenshot of the big family tree so now everytime I reread I can refer back to this!!
Also holy crap I just realized that I only asked that question a few days ago! Mod R do you sleep??? ????
????
???? either way thank you!!
That was great! Thank you! It was good to hear more about Penelope and her history with her sister.
Sorry but having read the weird theories post and having been told to reread Innkeeper after the quiz post, I have to make a comment which is not Baylor related.
Weird Theory No 1001: the lady who helped Dina at the Costco (great can throwing BTW) also Mrs. Marais?
I like it. And it is still sort of family related …. Just a different family.
Thank you for letting me get this off my chest. Because of work, I sometimes miss blog until later
IIRC, IA has promised that we’ll meet the Costco woman again, and I’m definitely hoping she turns out to be Mrs. Marais!
And yet, somewhere, somehow, Linus Duncan . . .
This was a fascinating read. Thank you Mod R!
Thank you so much, this is great
I am totally enjoying these posts! Thank you!
I love these but I need them larger! I can’t read the last couple!!! Oh noes!
And thank you!
???? I’m sorry I tried so many ways to make them larger and it didn’t work.
Maybe if you are on a desktop computer and can increase the picture to 110% – 125%?? (My computer skills are minimal – I know you can do this with some applications in document formatting.) ????
Control and + together does enlarging on most desktops. Crtl and – to reduce it again
It’s better now! Thank you so, so much!!!
This was fabulous – I loved your comments on the characters – although I’m not convinced that Mischa is dead. In Wilfire on page 310, Victoria says that “she’s kept under constant sedation” – indicating that she’s still alive, at least at that point, and there are no other indications elsewhere that she’s been killed (unless I missed it in a Q&A which is quite possible.) Here are just a couple of my favorites, although I could probably just say “ALL OF IT”:
Re Rogan: “He’s very funny (just ask peaches)”
Re Arrosa : “but she has a big house in Houston she wants Rogan and Nevada to fill with grandchildren”
Re Bern: “In relationship with Runa Etterson (“leaves the house for her” level of inlove [sic], so it’s definitely serious).”
(Honestly, I feel called out by this comment – this is my level of serious love ????????♀️????????????)
Re Arabella: “and would rather nope on Maths (a whole entire mood)”- And Mod R you are fabulous your English/European status is definitely showing here: an American would say ‘nope on math’. And now I really want to go back to Britain again and meet you for tea and chat. Like, REALLY.
Also, does anyone else wish that they could meet other BDH fans that live close to them? No, just me being fanatical. Ok then.
???? Misha passing was indeed a Q&A goodie, after the release of Sapphire Flames.
Ah ok – thank you Mod R!! I’ve never been able to make it to a Q&A and now I’m greedy and wish I could find transcripts… ????????????
I’m in Japan if any BDH want a meet up to fangirl/boy over the books
Los Angeles anyone?
Wow. Thank you for this. It really helps explain the family and their dynamics and connections. Something to save, and to use as a reference.
And, really really can’t wait to “let the ships sail”, and see where “Penjiro” goes. More fun for me and all the other BDH’s.
Thank you so much! I enjoyed this tremendously. It was a wonderful walk through one of my favorite book series. Your character descriptions are perfect. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this!
Augustine is “Pancakes” because of the incident in college, but can’t remember who Connor is giving a hard time to with the nickname “Peaches”. Any help appreciated!!
Thanks!! ????????
Peaches is the dude who was in the Pit in the first book. He was smashed by Rohan with a building on his way to meet Bug for the first time
Mod R, thank you so much for the effort and labor put forth. Everything was a review for me either the exception of The Cool Aunt which I somehow missed. ????????♀️ Do you know how Arabella knew it was her grandfather? I always assumed it was Linus in the room, that he’s Caesar
I cannot confirm nor deny who it is, but Arabella is shown to be extremely observant on several separate occasions ????
She wants someone we met in SF I think he was some kind of action actor? She dressed up to impress him in one of the snippets
I so want her to stay in House Baylor if she marries and goes to another house it would seem like Catalina is the only one left in that ship. The same to Leon and Bern, I Also want Leon having his powers publicly discovered while saving one of the sisters most likely Arabela during one of her books (because there Will be books of her) and then testing them be labeled as a Prime!
I also want HEA for Bug and Cornelios and maybe even Agustine qnd Leon, but for him I want his own books!
Thanks Mod R Us♥️????
Wonder if she is able to smell the relationship (and hadn’t bothered to smell Linus with her magic before) – HLA can influence body odor.
Thank you for putting the tree together. And agreed “Penjiro 4ever!”
Gold star, Mod R. Thank you for the well put together post. Good job.
My family decided when I got divorced I needed something “helpful” to keep my mind off personal situation (and the mistress). She married someone else 3 years later. ???? however, I spent years documenting abandoned (I am not allergic to poison ivy unfortunately) in SC USA and current family cemeteries, going to assorted courthouses in SC, NC, VA, GA, AL, Fl…, using a magnifying glass to read census hieroglyphics on microfiche….
Every reunion they find something to argue about. 20 years so far. Won’t let me quit. Now they say I need to go across Atlantic Ocean to England to document pre revolutionary war immigrants. I know port where they arrived but not ship. I said when pigs sprout wings and fly. It is family.
Just great! Thank you
Thank you, Mod R! This is some great???? work you put in! I appreciated the refresher on family tree since I’m about to re-read the series. And I love to read all the comments after the posts! Thank you all! ????????????
Thank you for this family tree! Enjoyed it very much.
Now I am wondering how old is Ragnar compared to Arabella? ????
Ragnar Etterson is 15 in Sapphire Flames, to Arabella’s 18/19.
🙂 Hope this helped.
He was three or four years younger than Arabella, right?
And seven years older than Matilda, which could work after she’s all grown up, especially if he’d been away for a long time. Just because best meet-cute ever!
Thanks Mod R, this is great.
One multi-part question on love and Houses. It seems like Alessandro will join House Baylor, but what about Bern and Runa? Is Runa running her house – doing what, since Halle has a job and Ragnar is still in school? Would Bern have to leave House Baylor if they married, or would Runa’s House join the Baylor Investigative Agency, which would be a big plus for BIA?
Thanks!
Deeply interested un the answer ????
I will ask about the status of House Etterson and House Baylor relationships 🙂 .
In terms of “doing what”- we see Runa doing her kind of thing even before her mother’s death. She is commissioned for 2 weeks by House Rogan to work as poison detector and neutraliser in Diamond Fire based on an agreement between House Rogan and House Etterson. She is also the heir of the House investments portfolio, security, House relations and the main decision maker for the members of her family etc. That’s plenty to do, I would think 🙂
“In the sea of Houston’s elite, the Ettersons were a relatively small fish and they swam by themselves. No strong ties to other Houses, no patrons of great influence. It wasn’t unusual. Many smaller Houses preferred to operate independently, unattached to a larger family. Powerful Houses had powerful enemies, and when you allied yourself to one, you inherited their friends and rivals.”
Obviously, the dynamics (and baggage) is different between the Nevada-Rogan union and the Runa-Bern (future) union. House Etterson members can probably still do their magic talent-related thing independently, but now they are attached to a house with powerful allies and enemies.
(Sorry, late reaction to topics again. Just browsing through old post for what I missed and reacting to what i recently re-reread.
oops, this is a reply meant for the previous comment, lol, it makes it seem I know more than Moderator R. sorry.
