The Horde proved its might once more this week, valiantly trying to crash the website with giveaway entries and amazing us all with how international we are. I don’t think there was a corner of the world left unrepresented. FOR THE HORDE!

The Random Number Generator did its job this morning and picked the lucky winners: a reminder that there were 2 domestic US winners and 1 international winner.

All the blog giveaway winners will be contacted privately, from the modr@ilona-andrews.com address.

PSA: Please don’t fall for scam comments on social media proclaiming you as the winner and giving you links to follow or asking for money – some of the scammers copy details like names and profile pictures on their accounts.   3. Congrats to the winners, ya lucky bastards.

    I saw the number of comments on the post. Just out of curiosity, ModR, do you guys track which posts had the most comments? I’m curious what the record is for most comments on a post.

    • So, the thing that is not obvious with the blog is how many silent readers it has. The number of comments are always something like 1% or below of the actual number of readers who access the posts- which is 10,000- 12,000 at the low end and 25,000 and up during blog serials or release periods. I think the absolute top number of comments was around 5k something, but Monday’s was definitely in the top 10 – some posts got archived and deleted throughout the years, so can’t confirm in the absolute.
      It’s not unusual (to be loved by anyone) or to have 1-2,000 comments on big blog serials like Julie or Innkeeper and I remember a Hidden Legacy snippet post that got some of the Horde veeeery passionate about a certain topic, and definitely broke my inbox with thousands of comments :D.

      The fluffy, mighty BDH! Always underestimated, until it’s too late hehe.

    I got the phone call “package being held at customs” scam yesterday.

    I always answer with a simple “hello”. when they introduced themselves as customs and asked how I was, migraine me’s response was “confused” which got an “I’m fine too thanks for asking.”

    then they asked if I was waiting for a package from Mexico and (as someone within a stones throw of the Canadian border) I broke out laughing and told them to have a good day as if they called me as a joke. they hung up reeeeeeally quickly on the crazy but not gullible lady😁

    I found Mod R’s comment about number of blog readers versus number of blog commentators very interesting. I am an avid blog reader sometimes commentator and was excited to read about the competition. However I thought about it and concluded I should let entering this one go since I already own Subterranean Innkeeper Volume 1 and was waiting for Volume 2 to arrive ( I’m in Australia so it takes longer to get here).

    It then occurred to me to check the tracking to see when it was being delivered( what a good service that is) and , to my delight , I saw it has been delivered that day so we checked our mail and there it was!
    Since I was too busy unpacking, oohing and aahing over Luisa and Doris’s illustrations and having several little reads I never got back to the blog to wish everyone luck and say I don’t need to be included in this competition but I will definitely be there for the next.

    I love my Innkeeper Volume 1 and Volume 2 books and am delighted some other members of the BDH can now enjoy the experience of these beautiful books.

    • Hi Lynne,

      Delay of up to 24 hours is normal- the newsletter goes out to about 50,000 addresses. It’s the luck of the draw sometimes, but nothing to be done on your end, I’m afraid.

    • I know your pain. I am in NW Ohio and I use to get the email the next day. I canceled the newsletter and now I just check daily to see if there is a post.

      How does that affect your stats Mod R?
