OMG, it’s over with. It’s done, it was sent to our editor last night, and pheew. Done.
Things I have done now that the horrible terrible edit is over.
Drank Blue Tea
Colored hair. It is now not an awful color.
Resolved coworking crisis.
Took pictures of pets.
Today I might actually play the new Animal Crossings. Kid 1 attempted to add my account to her circle of friends, none of whom invited me. Where am I going to get different fruits, people?
I was so fried by the end of edits, I started noticing peculiar typing abnormalities. Like I had to type Destin and I typed it as nitseD. Perfectly backwards. Very fast too, at my normal typing speed. Some other fun words I had typed while trying to force my brain to work: cslcicins (sliced), dmanbaged (damaged), and perfapsuiihh (persevered.) Fun, no? I usually have decent accuracy, but it was as if the pathway between my brain and hands had become damaged for a bit. It’s better now. It’s amazing how much sleep helps.
So I am looking forward to do doing nothing. Also more nothing. Hopefully my brain will recover.
FBR says
Congrats on the edits! Enjoy doing the nothing. 🙂
Erin D. says
Did you see the new research on how they’ve discovered the mechanism in which sleep clears out toxins (or whatever) from the brain? Science is crazy.
Erin D says
aaaand I don’t know why this replied this far down in the thread.
Kayeri says
I hope this isn’t your hands flaring up again! Love the pictures of all the furkids, and I hope you’re happy with the novel and can relax some now. =)
Jing says
Yey for the done edits. I’ve been re-reading HL.
Like you, I’m off to doing nothing lol.
Recharging my batteries in this stressful time
Joanne says
Congratulations on getting through the edits!! I love seeing the pictures of your pets, and beautiful items! Please get some rest.
Dorothy says
+1
Jackie says
Enjoy your nothing. One step closer to a new book for us. Yay!
Shannon from Florida says
Destin? As in Florida? What evil is going to befall us?
barbie doll says
We are on lockdown so rest is it. I hope that you recuperate and that your energy and writing ability and your enjoyment of life comes back. It is terrible to be so drug down and nonfunctional. Take care and all of the best to you and yours
Lora Tyler says
Love the update! Thank you so much for completing the edits. Love your animals. They are so cute.
Sandy says
WHEW!!!
Last 2 weeks my team has been working around the clock to transition critical customer support personnel to working remotely. By Friday we had over 31K ppl on line. This week is so much slower…before now I would have said really busy, but now…just…ahhhh
So we sent each other pictures of our pets.
Congrats on your well-earned break.
jewelwing says
Time for you to chill. Thanks in advance for the book. Have a great day!
amanda says
Take a break, you deserve it! I have found I’m stalking all my favorite authors because you seem to have the most interesting lives. I wonder why that is? Maybe it’s just that being authors you tell the tales of daily life so much better than other people.
Sarah says
Congratulations! I appreciate how hard you work to write and edit such amazing stories . Sending you and your family lots of love. Hope you get to enjoy lots of the doing nothing and sleep time ❤️
Tink says
Anyone else look at the picture of the cat next to the keyboard and the glass of purple liquid right next to the cat and think “Uh oh”? I kept reading thinking you were going to say the cat pushed the drink onto the keyboard and you had to order a new keyboard.
Ami says
I had the same thought! I was so glad when she said the kitty was just holding on to the keyboard.
I’m so so glad for you to be done w your edits and able to rest!! Y’all are amazing and I appreciate the hard work so much!
Breann says
My thoughts too! I zoomed in and I think I see a straw, but with my luck it would still spill. The cat would look me in the eye, push the cup off (totally on purpose), and then it would spill all over whatever I most wanted it not to (even if it was a spill proof cup). ????????
Anne-Marie Cyr says
Have fun with Animal Crossing if you play. I am loving it. It’s been been so lovely and such a great way to relax. It’s totally taken my mind of everything. Amazing stuff I tell you.
If you find yourself still missing fruits, I have all of them growing on my island. <3

Congrats on finishing the edits!
I work fulltime, go to school online full time and have a family of 5 that still needs my attention. My husband had actually seen me sleep typing. Eyes closed but fingers still going. I never type anything sensible but there are words on the paper.
Now at night I sit where he can see me so that he can nudge me awake and not mess up my papers.
Pets are cute! Enjoy the downtime!
anainasia says
well l done and thank you – and wow you have an amazing brain that can do things normal people can not do when “damaged” – like type words backwards at normal speed :-0 – I speak two languages (not Russian) that that have Cyrillic alphabet so i do things like mix up d and g and m and t (makes only sense when you know how to write a Cyrillic d or t in cursive ..) even when i am tired – doesn’t help that i am dyslexic in any language … but anyway you are amazing … so go and sleep sleep sleep and do nothing, nothing nothing ..
Diane says
Yay for edits being over. Yay for getting on with life. Yay for doing nothing, if “nothing” demands your attention. Yay for cats and computers. (Mine micromanage.) Yay for recovery! Looking forward to Emerald Blaze.
Lynn says
Enjoy the sunshine and relax. I’m working on counted cross stitch Christmas stockings, since Iowa has decided it is not ready to warm up yet.
Susan says
Congrats! I like your hair. I like that color. I am hoping you can enjoy the necessary down time…..
Breann says
Yay for edits being done! You have cute pets. Enjoy doing nothing! ????
Catlover says
One huge chore done, now you can start your staycation. Wallow in the freedom from work for a while and just let yourself be. A change in focus should help a lot. I need to uncover my sewing machine and sew up some face masks for my DILs parents and aunts and uncles. Me sewing them up wasn’t my intention as her mom taught home ec. Oh well, they’re not that difficult and it’s not like I don’t have plenty of fabric 🙂
Lee says
Hi Catlover, what are you using for ties? Both my sister and I have lots of fabric and are willing to sew masks, but elastic in NE Ohio is impossible to get, especially since we’re on lockdown.
SueB,NH says
If you are using cotton, it’s easy to cut a few inches in from the edge & then rip the length. Fold edges in twice & stitch. (Much clearer in the video for the Fu mask!) These will tie, just like masks used to, before it was easy to make elastic. (If I recall correctly, the ties are the same style as they used on the M.A.S.H. TV show).
I’m stopping this now – my typing’s getting horrid (three cheers for the red lines under misspelled words, or this would have made no sense!)
Mimi says
Perhaps that was the cat typing…
Susan Anzalone says
My twins are huge Animal Crossing fans! They sit next to each other on their respective Switches yelling at each other to share their goodies.
Amanda P says
Haha love the happy face, jazzy keyboard and pet pics.
You spoil us. Congrats for finishing the edits
Keep safe xx
Wes D says
Thank you for pet pics and ???? happy face. Get lots of rest cause you need and deserve. ???? sending virtual chocolate ???????? and champagne. ????????
Dani says
Know the struggles of getting all (or any other) fruit in Animal Crossing. Waiting for my brother-in-law to get done with the tutorial & invite me over. Good luck!
Julia says
Posting my Switch friend code in the comments sounds like something my mom said I’m not allowed to do (and Mom deserves some wins), but email me and I’ll send it! Apples, oranges, coconuts, and bamboo here.
Alex says
Congratulations on the edits! Freedom! I’m sure Tuna was a big help, haha. But now it is time for Animal Crossing. I don’t have a Switch myself, so I can only look on fondly as all my favorite people disappear, but that’s ok. I’ve got 36 books to finish.
I love the pet pics. Lots of love to the furry family.
Gail G says
Your fun kids are great! In love with Tuna????. Can’t type as fast, forever grateful for autocorrect, until it can’t read my mind. In the meantime, rest.
Pille Joevee says
Nothing for awhile is amazing! Rest up, so your amazing brain can bring us more fun moments with your books!
Elizabeth says
Congratulation on finishing the edits! In the new Animal Crossings game, you can fly to other islands that have different fruit trees. You don’t need to be friends with anyone.
Jan Tucker says
Enjoy your well deserved nothings. Very cute pet pictures. Lovely hair colour: we have similar happy faces ????
Mia says
Your happy face is killing me????????
AndrewC says
La dolce far niente. Italian for “The sweet do nothing.” One of my favorite things in life.
Your dogs are pretty cute in a motley muttley way. How’d you get them to pose?
Your co-worker reminds me of my two. They both wait for kids to be working on laptops then walk up and sit on the keyboards. Or one of them waits until my daughter gets up from hers and then he sits on the keyboard as if trying to hide it, or suck the warmth outta the machine.
And, there is no blue food in nature. It either turns green or purple. You probably shouldn’t drink things that are blue. I find that shade a little frightening.
Happy edit recovery. As always, looking forwards to the next drop from you two.
nrml says
How odd. I’m pretty sure our blueberries grow blue. Dark blue is not purple. Perhaps your lighting is tinting things?
OK. I had to look it up. Now I know that not all blueberries are truly blue. Some are purple. But ours are blue.
Mistfox says
“That’s how Tuna rolls.” 😀 (Sorry, my local sushi place closed for the duration and my mind immediately went to sushi.)
Theodore D. says
There is nothing quite like having gotten something great big done and the feeling of accomplishment… and then doing nothing as a way to recover.
That bit of bliss! <3
Karen Rexford says
Love your hair. My daughter says she only has oranges but she will share.
R Coots says
Yay! And yay for pet pics! Rest well!
Sharon H Barrett says
Congrats on complete edits, which we all know are a pain in the butt. I type, ALL THE TIME, Brian instead of brain. Every. Damn. Time.
Arianna says
CONGRATULATIONS!! ????????
Simone says
Hmmm maybe Tuna helped type some of those words? Congrats on finishing the editing. Your pet pics are great and your hair looks fabulous 🙂 Enjoy a well deserved agenda of Nothing.
Kimei says
I am on week 2 of telework for my day job. It’s only taken me an entire week and yesterday to get the cat to finally stop sitting on the laptop and settle for just my notebook.
reeder says
Woah. You trained your cat to do something! That’s a huge accomplishment! (Not sarcasm).
Also that look. LOL.
Lee says
Awww. How can you resist that face? Just darling. Thanks for sharing
gsg says
Day 7 of isolating from home and the natives (me and the dog) are getting restless. The dog who has to always be touching me in some fashion if I’m stationary doesn’t even want to be that near me except if treats are in hand. So at 11pm last night I was wondering what I should do this coming weekend, and it hits me… BEER BREAD! Only, I don’t have any of the ingredients. I’m hoping that I can get beer and self-rising flour Friday as I’m now craving the stuff.
The dog did join me for a couple of video conference calls and had a temper tantrum on video for everyone to see.
Mimi says
You make DYI self rising flour. Look on the King Arthur Flout website. No reason to suffer unneedlessly 😉
gsg says
I thought of that. I have beer in my cart ready to order first thing in the morning for pick up later in the week. I have a lot of flour so I’ll be able to have beer bread!
AC Sutton says
Your happy face looks just like mine.

All the best!^^ enjoy the free time now. Such peculiarity often happens to me too when drafting an essay. It felt like when my brain think of a word but my hand suddenly slipped typing something else. Have fun xoxo

Yay! Big congrats on getting the edits done!
I am in love with your gorgeous tea cup! I know you have posted the link:) I have about 50 teacups (mostly for display) that I have collected and inherited when my Mom passed away. I just can’t justify purchasing another teacup! So, I will enjoy looking at yours:)

I’ve got peaches on my island! It’s definitely a very relaxing game and it’s been a big help for me the past couple of days.

Renee says
I have Apples on my island…
Stacie says
I have pears. Happy to give them away.
Carmen says
I like your happy face 🙂
kommiesmom says
Yay! for completing the edits. Enjoy your break and get some rest. I love your happy face and your beautiful hair. I wish I did my own color – but I don’t. I will miss being the lady with the pink hair (only high lights really), but the salon will be open someday and the ladies will need the money…
Houston gets to stay home starting at midnight tonight. I was not doing much before, and now I will be doing nothing.
I can’t use my right hand for much of anything (broken wrist) and I am SO not a lefty! I have two projects started – one knit, one crochet – and can only look longingly at them for the next two weeks at least.
I have not tried CIV yet – maybe that would be doable…
Thanks for the game suggestion, even if it was a different game. Have fun on yours!
I may have to do my taxes out of sheer boredom.
Rebekah says
I will be your friend on animal crossing if you want!
DianaInCa says
Congratulations on finishing the edits! Love the hair color! Enjoy your break and the new game. My son is really enjoying it. He tried to talk me into it, but since I play Pocket Camp already I am not sure I want to add another game into my rotation. Plus I would have to get a switch for myself.
Too bad Tuna couldn’t type out the edits that would solve some coworking problems
Char says
Yippee for the finished edits!
You have inspired mr to take more photos of pets.
Happy vegging out!
Lea says
Relax and maybe get some fresh air?
Stay Safe.
Rorie Lynne Solberg says
Congratulations!!!!

I cannot type as fast as my brain talks. And then I spend time fixing typing errors. And NLP doesn’t help. I sometimes need 5 hands.
RabidReader says
Yay for the completion of exhausting tasks!
Really loving the ‘tuna rolls’ comment. And was that a MiB reference with the happy face or am I looking for references where none exist?
Time for naps and self care, enjoy!
Chris T. says
So happy for you! Looking forward to hearing about your exploits searching for a new domicile now that the book is in the can. I like living in the midlands of SC except for the heat. No snow, hurricanes skip along the coast & usually miss the middle of the state, real estate is relatively cheap, and we have a huge lake to play on with the lovely name of Lake Murray. Traffic is much better than MD/Balto area. Morning rush hour is over at 9:15, evening at 6:15. We have a cute teeny tiny airport with 3 airlines and connections to Atlanta, but you have to go to Charlotte to fly SW. Let me know if you’d like any more info about the area. I moved down 5 years ago and have decided never to move again. Congrats on Emerald Blaze!!
jdc says
Congratulations on finishing edits! Happy to have some good news today 🙂 your hair is a delightful color! Thank you for sharing!
Lynn Thompson says
Thank you, Ilona Andrews for the post. Congratulations on surviving the edits. Love the hair.
Regarding the word spelling issue— I do same thing when I get tired even though I am Native American English speaker and writer. The hypothesis of my general doctor because I was concerned about is I learned to speak and write two languages in my early teens that read right to left and my tired brain goes on autopilot. Weird. sleep helps.
nrml says
Love Tuna trying to get the computer away from the guitar lesson. I’m on her side there. The dogs are adorable, of course, but cats are my type of animals. Well, and horses. Fortunately, I never had a horse sit on my computer, although I have one who sat on a picnic table rather than back up as asked. The table didn’t make it.
Between the rain and mud and muck, my daffodils are blooming and my tulips are up. Many things are up, but harbingers of Spring are what I’m looking for. They’re very pretty, but the yard is a mess of winter stuff. Oh, and I had a blooming dandelion a couple of days ago. The “walk on me” flowers (that’s what the seed packet called them) are going strong. I had to hit two stores before they closed down allowing us to go out at midnight, so my arthritic back is complaining at me. I’d soak in the tub, but I’d have to scrub it out first from us showering, and yeah, that hurts more than it’s worth right now. Maybe later.
Ilona, I love that you took that picture and posted it without posing. When I am not smiling, I look as if I’m frowning. Your mouth is narrow, but mine is wide, and it really goes down at the corners. Other than your eyes looking exhausted, you look great. Sleep a lot. You can’t go anywhere, you are done editing, and it’s time for you to sleep until you wake up without an alarm clock. You’ve earned it. I think we all thank you for doing all that work during this stressful time. I know I do. I can’t wait to read the new book.
Patricia Schlorke says
Hurray, yippee, congratulations! You and Gordon deserve a much needed break. I loved the big “help” Tuna is in the picture. 😉 The happy face made me laugh.
Stay safe everyone.
Danielle says
Tuna looks like a very small lion with his mane! Yah-hoo for finishing edits. Keep doing nice things.

Anna Stanford says
My daughter Mara plays the new Animal Crossings New Horizons. Her friend code is redacted for privacy – ilona, but thank you) She has apples, some peaches and cherries. Send her a friend request!
LucyQ says
Yippee and congrats! Very excited for you. I’m taking a mental health day from my work today. So far I have picked lemons, finished reading _A Murderous Relation_, updated my rabbits’ habitat (rabbitat?), and have now popped some popcorn and am getting ready to settle in to watch Pride and Prejudice with my daughter (I’m a big fan; she really liked the book but has not yet seen the movie). The Keira Knightley/Matthew McFayden version. Much more relaxing than work or the world outside.
Take care everyone!
Breann says
My favorite version is the approximately 6 hour BBC one with Colin Firth! If you haven’t seen that one, I highly recommend it! I love the book, but found the Kiera Knightley version a bit disappointing. Hopefully your daughter doesn’t agree with me. If she doesn’t like that one though, I’d definently try the longer one. To this P & P fan, it’s wonderful! ????
Susie Q. says
Colin swimming through the pond is wonderful. I admit to hitting the rewind button a few times after that scene. Not in the book, but I’m sure Jane would appreciate it.
Ruth says
Yes, rabbitat. This word has been in use here for something like 6 or 7 years. In my case it referred to the brush pile resulting from a lightening-struck tree.
Lynne B says
Congratulations on finishing! Thanks for all your hard work. LOVE Tuna!! Tell her “hi”!
Richard Cartwright says
Congrats on finishing the edits. This probably falls under “business of writing”, but how long after you finish a project does it take for the writing batteries to recharge? Or is there any rhyme or reason to it?
Ilona says
It depends on the project and how badly the brain is fractured afterward. 🙂 Sometimes a week, sometimes two. Once in a while a month.
Kristal says
Congratulations on finishing the dreaded editing! Love your menagerie. My cat does the same thing, only that paw is usually draped over my shoulder and the paw has claws delicately piercing my flesh, usually a boob. We have words about him reading over my shoulder! I have 2 that do that and one that will hook my phone or kindle while typing, I get all sorts of interesting words that way! Rest up and stay safe!
Kendra says
You’re awesome, thank you so much for sharing your worlds with us. Stay safe and not too stir crazy!
Angel Mercury says
Is a switch friend code safe to share? Haha, maybe not so much. Otherwise I’d gladly share my pears.
Cheryl M says
Hooray for the Ending of the Edits!! Love the pet pics, enjoy your down/ brain dump time.

Enjoy your R & R, I often type, write & talk backwards ???? look forward to the release of Emerald Blaze

When I get sleep deprived, I combine words when I talk. It’s like my brain is running faster than my mouth and my mouth decided to take shortcuts. The mashups can be hilarious.

My husband is a gamer and he also really enjoyed Skyrim when it came out. He recently found Enderal, it’s a total conversion mod of Skyrim . It is available on Steam for free. I have lost my hubby for hours upon hours to this game so it must be great. Enjoy your down time you definitely deserve it !
J. says
Pffft, your Russian’s showing (don’t ever change!). Love your furbabies; I have a weak spot for wrinkly faces. So glad you’re now able to kick up your feet for some R&R.
Mary V says
Congratulations! I am so happy for you. It’s rather been as if you’ve been in quarantine forever. Please rest and much as you need and read something for pleasure. May I suggest something pleasant but not too heavy on a tired brain? You’ve probably read it already, “The Vampire Knitting Society” by Nancy Warren.
TeejSD says
Waaahh! What’s that? Blue tea?! Well I guess I’d try it to try it but really I feel like denim has no place in tea…
Oh, your happy face looks like a tired face. Yes to more RnR!! I see you have unleashed your inner redhead. My redheaded friend claims her hair is that color because she “washes it I the blood of her enemies”. (Do you have enemies? Are they still alive…vs exanguinated?!)
Yep, that there appears to be a hostile feline work environment. HR (CR?) should recommend catnip application!
Nice how the bulldog is all laid out & “whazzup?” And the little dogs are “yes here I am is there a toy/treat?”
Enjoy your brain break! 🙂
Bellebok says
Congrats on finishing the edits! Now kick up your heels…Stay safe and healthy, you and Gordon and your kids too.
Love your hair colour.
desa says
there are animal crossing forums, and maybe even a subreddit, where people share friend codes. just do a search.
Belinda says
Enjoy the doing nothing. It’s my favorite thing to do, and I’m afraid we have lost the art , Everyone always has to be DOING something, watching something, listening to something, consuming something. You know, “being productive”. I like to do nothing. I think of things. I remember things. I dream of things. I remember dreaming of things. You know……doing nothing.
Maybe now that so many of us are having to stay at home some of us will relearn the fine art of doing nothing.
Have fun
Deb says
I’m glad you survived the editing experience. Can’t wait to read the book!
Hopefully, you can fit some knitting in there. Nice repetitive, relaxing knitting.
I’m working on the Nightshift shawl. It’s really fun.

Congratulations on finishing the edits! Thanks for the pet pictures. I couldn’t help noticing that beautiful burgundy rug. Where did you find that colorful rug? I’m open to BDH suggestions too. We are getting wood floors and I keep finding these brown and gray monstrosities.
Leigh Rathbone says
Congratulations on finishing the edits. Do you have specific voices for each character when you read your book back?
Also, I have animal crossing and currently no friends (PS please don’t think this is a pity plea from me). If you want an friend from England just let me know. ☺
Thank you for your amazing books.

Tuna is a girl? Red tabbies are almost always males (torties are usually female). Pretty cat! Love the hair.
njb says
Yea! for you guys and yea! for us, too. That much closer to release of the book. Loved the photos, especially Tuna lol, and the red is pretty, maybe it will grow on you. Stay well!

Your hair color is beautiful but that happy face might need a little work! I’m glad the edits are done and you can sleep again. I hope your commitments allow you to take a break. Can’t wait to read the book! Take care.

I was playing Neo Scavenger but it got depressing in view of what’s going on. So now in between refreshing the online grocery pages I’m playing Stardew Valley. I’ve been having trouble reading and games are a bit better. Everyone stay safe.
Bill G says
Congratulations on the edits being done; boo on the fried brain condition. May it unfry quickly. Cute pup, there.

I am so happy for you that you were able to get a hard job done! I know how that is!

Also, gotta look up Indigo Punch at Harneys. Love their Hot Cinnamon!
Diane says
Congratulations on finishing the edit!
My cat Elemauzer has an uncanny ability to push the exact combination of keys necessary to flip the screen display on my desktop monitor to upside down. I’m still at a loss as to why someone would want this, but someone must, since it can be down. Everytime it happens I can’t find the paper with the secret key combo to flip it back and have to Google on my phone.
She’s done it so many times
Diane Irvine says
You can also wall mount monitors, and for various reasons might prefer the on/off button at the top where people can’t reach easily.
And some monitors you can rotate. I have one at work that you can rotate to portrait mode (works really well in a 2 monitor set up – I have a portrait monitor on my left, to view a document in its entirety, and a landscape monitor on my right for active work). I can rotate it left, or right. So I need settings for portrait, and portrait flipped.

My Maine Coon cat, Lily, loves to wash the touch screen of my computer. She’s actually reset my password twice!

Just finished Diamond Fire for 3rd time, which followed 5th re-reading of Books 1-3 of Hidden Legacy, which followed 4th re-reading of Sweep…Blade which followed first read through of Sweep with Me.
I still can’t read Kate 9 and 10 because if I read them, the Kate series will be over.
Looking forward to Catalina, Book Two.
Please, please tell us that Arabella Books 1, 2 and 3 will follow Catalina 3!!!
Hope you have a wonderful STAYcation.

I thought I might be the only one that can’t read the end of the series :).
I’ve had book 10 since the day it was released.

The only word I have for you is…indulge. In anything/everything. Give your brain, your body, your soul time to recharge.
The goal is to enjoy yourself. To relax.
See you on the other side of your bliss time.
Lynn says
Your fur babies are so cute, it looks like they love keeping you entertained, even when your are at your keyboard. Now you can sit back, cuddle with your fur babies, drink some tea, and enjoy some well earned R&R! Take care of yourselves and just enjoy life.
Emma J Gordon says
I kind of like the word dmanbaged I think you or we should come up with the meaning for it.
Mela says
Demanbagged – Definition with a d added – When the police catch the bad guys before the hero in the book. Thus embarrassing the hero and ending the book too early. Or a plot device to move important things into place quickly. Used in book and movie reviews:
That book was such a waist of money. It started great and then dmanbagged. Lazy writing.
Or
The beginning of the movie went straight for dmanbagged, that way our real mystery could start with a plausible background.
Tammi says
I, too, was about to comment for the need for this word—dmanbaged— it sounds like a word that needs to be created!
Alaina says
Re: animal crossing fruit
There are one off islands that they let you travel to. They are random islands and have different fruit. It’s a great way to get different fruits if you don’t have anyone to play with.

I remember Artha, brindle bulldog, and the Frenchie. The last picture shows a super cute black and white doggo, who is that? That pupper is adorable, very much my type.
I had such a visceral reaction to blue tea and I am not sure why. Pretty sure it comes up in the Innkeeper series, I just assumed it was make-believe.
Steve Lucas says
Enjoy a few days of nothing you deserve a nice rest! And tea, lots of tea
Rhonda says
Time for you to relax and enjoy yourself. I’m glad the edits are done.

Speaking of typing… how are your hands/wrists? I kjow you had serious pain issues a while back that inspired the great ergonomic keyboard search.
Carolin says
Congratulations on getting the edits sent off- and enjoy your downtime. Lots of tea is always a good start.
Love Tunas pose- my cat used to do this too.
Hope your brain unwinds a little, but it seems to be very creative even in deadline mode- as opposed to.mine…..

Congrats on getting the edits done! Animal Crossing is super fun. We have a peach island, but we also have coconut palms, oranges, cherries, apples and pears. Let me know if you want us to add you to our friend list so you can come explore our island.

My happy face looks a lot like yours. I got so flummoxed today I actually crawled back in bed and cried for a bit. Sometimes it’s just gotta come out! So I also took pet pictures.
I’m so glad you are done and can practice a bit of self care! Stay safe!

Congratulations on finishing a difficult job of editing (ugh!) and on finally getting your sleep! I hope you get many days if not weeks of rest. You need it. A little stress is good- too much is hard on the body and harder to recover from!
And thanks for the Will Wight recommendation. I’ve read all in the Cradle series now and waiting for book 8. It started slow but really picked up as it went along. I’m retired now so discovering new writers I like is a treasure!

The hair looks good. Nothing like fun hair.
Yay on the edit! Well done! I feel very bad for you being so fried. Nothing is excellent. Do lots of that. Enjoy your babies. Love the pix.

Relax. Unfry the brain. Horray for finished edits! I like the hair.

Yay! A new book is coming. And yay for having nothing to do. Please, do take as much time as you want to do nothing. You don’t have to put out 2-3 books a year. Let alone 2-3 books a year for five years straight. Please take time for yourself. As much as you need and as much as you want. We’ll be here when you get back.

For brain recharging – I recommend Universim (it’s still in beta but the dev team is really responsive), Eco, and Stallaris for your gaming pleasure.

Congratulations on the edit and your hair 🙂
I didn’t realize how difficult it is to work from home. You deserve a lot of respect to work so much hours each day to respect your schedule. We’re confined here too for ten days now, so I do teleworking. It’s a first for me. I have a lot more trouble focusing and staying seated than usual.
I am even more admirative of your work now.
Take care of you, and kick asses in your game..

Well, I still have NO clue, how that online mode works in animal crossing. But, I had luck and foound apple trees on a random island. Mine has peaches. ???? peaches! I should have named the island differently. And my guy baba bruce.
So i have peaches, apple, pear and cocos.

“ Resolved coworking crisis.” Um. By rolling over for the cat? Because the cat looks as though she is large and in charge. 😉

I have noted that typing dyslexia may be a new understudied thing. Errors that I would never make writing by hand (e.g. there for their) my fingers/brain make surprisingly often when typing.

Congratulations on getting your edit done!
Every time I see a picture of Tuna, I am taken aback by how much she looks like my boy, Aslan. I don’t know about Tuna’s lineage, but Aslan (he came with the name) is a 12-year-old Norwegian Forest Cat. If I knew how to send you a picture, I would.
Aslan is the same color as Tuna, has white paws, and sports an asymmetrical white snip on his nose. He’s also a bit small for his breed, weighing in at about 11 lbs. (His sister, Ember, our Maine Coon is about 20 lbs.) And no, they’re not biologically related; both were purchased from reputable breeders located hundreds of miles apart.

I drink the indigo punch tea from Harney & Sons as well. I also find it so-so on it’s own. But, it is wonderful when you combine it with other teas.
It is very good when you brew a pot of 3bags indigo punch and 2bags decaf vanilla comoro (or other vanilla tea) with a spoon or two of honey and topped with whipping cream or half&half (or other preferred creamer). It is like a slice of decadent cake.
