Quick reminder that House Andrews will be hosting an author panel with Jeaniene Frost and Scarlett St Clair tomorrow, Saturday 18th of December, at 1 pm Central time.
The topic will be vampires, the myths that spawned them, the women who love them, the worlds that surround them and so much more. Of course, there will be reader questions for all 3 authors and a spoiler section. And goodies (see below!).
For those of you who have already registered- this converter can help you figure out what 1 pm CT is where you are, so you don’t miss it.
Because there has been some confusion, I’ll try to quickly go through some answers:
- Zoom is free to download
- if your registration for the webinar was successful, you will received a confirmation email at the address you provided during registration with a join link for the panel. The email comes automatically from Zoom, please check your spam/junk folders.
- here is an article that explains how to attend a Zoom webinar.
- Only the panelists will be on camera, you do not need to have one.
For those who have not registered, I’m afraid the number of attendees had to be capped at 1500, after available places have been extended twice. Everyone wants fangs under their Christmas tree this year! We will be posting highlights for everyone who cannot attend.
The authors have partnered with Bank Square Books for this event. NOTE: because of the pandemic, “signed book” in this case means a book with a signed bookplate in it. Bookplate is a fancy sticker with the author’s signature. They are gorgeous and mimic the design of the promo graphic above, however please be advised that because they need to travel from bookstore to beloved author and back, there will be a slight delay in delivery.
If you would like a signed book by one of our panelists, you can order it through the Bank Square Books store. For international orders, please contact them.
Once the book is in your cart and you are ready to check out, you will see this screen:
Scroll down until you see Order Comments.
You’re going to click that and type in your request for signed copies.
The lucky people who will attend the chat will get to see Chapter 1 a whole week in advance of everyone else. Chapter 1 of what? Why, the new House Andrews blog serial, of course!
Mmmmm, I could tell you more, but then I’d have to…you know.
Please notice that I’m saying “one week early”- those of you who cannot join will not be bereft of chapter, it will land for everyone at Christmas. Yay! It pays to stay off the Naughty List hehe.
In the meantime, because the night is long and the Horde is bad at waiting, Jeaniene Frost already has free chapters of her upcoming book, The Other Half of the Grave, available on her blog.
I think that’s all for now, I’ll see you tomorrow! If you have any questions for the authors or need more help, you can reach me at email@example.com
Mod R out.

I was really upset when I couldn’t join the zoom, but oh well, life goes on. I’ll patiently wait until Christmas.
Patricia Schlorke says
Thanks Mod R for the post. Since Christmas is 1 week away from tomorrow, I can wait.
Still giggling about the Lost City trailer. 😀
Will I receive the zoom link on Saturday or should I have received it at the registration ?
I got mine within a few hours of registering, so check your spam email.
Moderator R says
You should have received it after registration, but it’s not unheard of for them to have a small delay. Please do check your folders, the address it comes from is usually “noreply@zoom” ????
Mod R, your writing in posts is so similar to Ilona’s. I didn’t realize it was you until I saw your sign-off! You’ve been assimilated LOL. Too fun!
Moderator R says
That’s the highest compliment!
But I did pinch bits from the previous announcement for Fangs for Christmas, so entirely undeserved! I’ll still take it though hehe ????
Not a Zoom skilled person, so I’m looking forward to the “highlights reel”!!
Also, a bit groggy today because I stayed up way too late reading Scarlett St. Clair’s “King of Battle and Blood”, have about the last quarter of the book to go. Wow!! This will be a great discussion about vampires!
And remember, since this writers convention is a Zoom event, no one has to worry about parking or inclement weather!!
Have fun tomorrow!! ????????????
Just in case, if you click the link from zoom right now as well, it will show you the exact time for where you are joining in from as well.

For whatever reason I wasn’t sent an email. I was able to get the sign in by searching my browser history and found my Confirmation. I’m glad I didn’t dream signing up.
I received a confirmation but there’s literally nothing in the message. Can you help? Thanks
I found it in the junk mail but all it says is this message not downloaded from the server. And nothing I’ve done seems to download it either.
Yea worked it out. Better late than not at all

Literally the stupidest thing in the world just happened to me. After realizing that I hadn’t received the link to the meeting, I started looking through my email trash. After going through several spam mails from Zoom, I found the link. It was stuck on the preview mode, so I couldn’t see the link enclosed. I putzed around trying to enlarge the mail view, and somehow erased everything in my trash. I am verklempt. Bereft. I was so excited because I’d managed to get in the queue for the meeting, and this. FML.
Thank you so much to all 3 and to ModR.
I am going to re-read the books with vampires!!!
Big thanks to everyone for this wonderful event. This is the first time I have been able to attend an author’s panel and this was so much fun. Special thanks to Mod R for steering this ship, you did a wonderful job.
To House Andrews, Mod R and all the BDH, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. Here is to a happy and healthy 2022.

Fab Zoom session, thank you. ????
We all get an awesome Christmas present!
That was great fun. Thanks to all!
Moderator R says
Happy you could join us!
Dear Mod R,
I tried to join in the zoom and did manage… but had to have it on headphones and ended up missing the majority as I was trying to double up with being at a strictly final watch party????. I noted that the meeting seemed to be being recorded, will a link go out to the BDH at all? Poss after the week advance for those who were more dedicated hordetts then myself who was fully distracted by strictly ????????????????
Moderator R says
Watch this space ????, we will probably share at least highlights sometimes next week.
Thank you Mod R
Zoom chat was fun……
Thanks mod R & HA for hosting
Merry Christmas to all
I’m finally watching Black Widow & thoroughly enjoying it. I can’t help but wonder if the script writers are fans of Ilona Andrews, lol.
The event was terrific and the “special early gift” from House Andrews especially delicious!
Thankyou to the three authors for your generosity in sharing your time with the BDH.
I would like to compliment Mod R on her excellent chairing of the event. I thought the way she ensured there were questions to all three and lead the discussion was exemplary.
In the past I haven’t been a real fan girl of vampires as my impression has been they are predatory and cruel ( except for Arland who is my kind of vampire – lucky Maud) . However after listening to the discussion I plan to read some more of Jeaniene’s Cat and Bones books and read at least one of Scarlett’s books to see if I revise my appreciation of vampires.
Best wishes for a very Happy Christmas to House Andrews, Mod R and all members of the BDH.
Happy Holidays to HA, Mod R and the “we’re not a cult” BDH!
I was signed up and tried to join the meeting, but was unsuccessful. I’ll just get an extra Christmas present.

I’m sad that I couldn’t access the Zoom link in my registration confirmation email. The email properties were a .png, so there was no link and I couldn’t even copy and paste the meeting info into my Zoom app. I don’t suppose either a video &/or the transcript will be posted?
I loved the Zoom and the free chapter. I hadn’t realised it would be the start of a new blog serial.
I thought is was just a teaser chapter of a next book, so now I’m double excited.
The blog serial couldn’t start at a better time.
As of this morning we’re in hard lockdown. We don’t have to stay indoors, but basically everything but the supermarkets is closed.
No sports, no events, no bars and restaurants.
Ah, well. We survived the last lockdown, we’ll survive this one.
Next week I should be able to make an appointment for my booster.
That’s something to look forward to. Kinda.
Moderator R says
I’m so sorry, Patricia. Hope you manage to get the booster!

Giving myself a talking-to at getting the time conversion date wrong… I added a day to the already +1 day.
Huge thanks for this Zoom, the interventions and moderation were great!
I especially liked the way Ilona made the historical background of Vlad Tepes come alive. And I’m wondering where you found that map. I love maps and I’d really like to get a closer look at it.
Also, while looking for Chapter 1 for a re-re-read, I found a fascinating story about demonic Houses, a beaten up but not broken heroine and a walking house, which seemed to date back to the early 2010’s.
Now I’m wondering how many of those easter eggs are hidden in the depths of this website?
Bill G says
Can I please get the chapter 1 on Christmas day? I didn’t zoom.
Thanks and Merry Merry Christmas.
Moderator R says
Yes, everyone will ????. Chapter 1 will be released on the blog on Christmas
I really need a pick up.
I am so sad. I missed it bc I was sick 🙁 I will have to a nice Christmas present which will be nice for a change OO
