Hello my lovelies, Mod R here.
Fated Blades, the new installment in the Kinsmen series, will be released on the 23rd of November.
To celebrate and meet with all of you, House Andrews are organising a virtual Q&A session on Saturday the 27th of November at 1 pm Central Time (US and Canada).
The registration is at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Wk1l3hwsSZyc_LI-tnkcLA
Here is a website that lets you figure out Central Time as it relates to your time zone š .
Ideally, you should register. There are limited places, so if you arrive after they are gone and you still want to attend, please check the blog on the morning of. We will post a direct link to the event, because life interferes and a percentage of the people who register do not show up.
Please submit your questions either in the comments (they all get read, so it doesn’t matter under which article) or at modr@ilona-andrews.com – specifying it’s for the Zoom Q&A please. They donāt need to be questions solely on Kinsmen, any IA series or IA related topics! Let your curiosity fly free hehe.
House Andrews will also answer questions from the webinar chat, but it’s a bit more hectic with so many messages. If you want to ensure yours gets seen, comment or send it in before. I’m making a list, and you know how lists make me happyš.
See you all there!
Laurence says
Happy Dance!
Laurence says
I prefer this website: https://www.timeanddate.com/ when I’m scheduling meetings where attendees come from different countries (latest: East Coast, Chili, Germany, Greece, Egypt, Korea and Japan -> that was fuuuun)
Laurence says
Sorry, I wanted that reply, to go below my first post…
Ista in Sydney says
The one they used showed my Sydney AU time which doesn’t happen often, and usually I use the site you mention.
Darlene says
Woot!!!
Karen says
This will be the closest to celebrities I actually respect. ????????
Patricia Schlorke says
Fated Blades comes out right before I take time off for Thanksgiving. Perfect timing! ????
Mod R you rock with keeping track of the lists and getting things organized.
Tink says
Unfortunately, it didn’t occur to me to take that day off, so I’ll be bleary-eyed Tuesday morning. That’s if I can stay up late enough to finish it after starting at midnight.
Haven’t seen Devil Gordon and Gasp! Ilona cartoons in a while. Love those two graphics.
Cynthia E Spiller says
Hurrah I finally registered in time:) Looking forward to some book fun!
Amelie says
Yay I registered! I was at one of the Blood Heir virtual release parties and absolutely loved it. I was super excited when Ilona and Gordon dropped a kind of major spoiler about a certain character I will not mention because I’m sure my comment will get deleted if I do haha. I hope to be able to attend!
Mags says
I saw that the Fated Blades audiobook is up on Amazon!!! -> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KMCDHSB
Frances says
Thanks Mags for the alert that the audiobook is available from 23 rd too. I had the impression that it, like the dead tree copy, was to be released later. Great news!
Emily says
Thank you so much for doing a virtual release!
I really enjoyed the other and hope it’s a tradition that continues, even post-pandemic.
Lynn Thompson says
Thank you, mod R.
I appreciate the webinar info. Enjoy it. Thank you.
Thank you Ilona Andrews for talking with the BDH about your works.
AP says
Woo hoo! First time getting to participate in one of these virtual Q&As!
Thank you!!
Mel says
Mod R,
If we register and can’t attend, will a recording be sent out to those that couldn’t attend? Thanks.
Frances says
Mod R, is there a way the webinar can be recorded and made available to the BDH who canāt be in the event?
I have been watching a few interviews with the Ilona Andrews writing team on utube and enjoyed them.

Hi Mod R, does this change the release date for the paperback?
Moderator R says
Hi Liz,
No, the Zoom Q&A doesnāt impact the paperback release ????
Liz L says
Thanks!
Ross Breane says
I was lucky enough to get an arc of Fated Blades. No spoilers but it was awesome! Great job Ilona and Gordon! Thanks so much for it and all of your great seriesā¤ļø
Rebecca says
Question for the Zoom Q&A:
All previous Kisman books have had a new couple as the POV characters for each book. Will that continue to be the case, or will Ramona and Matias get a two or three book arc for their story— especially if they prove as popular as I expect them to be?
Rebecca says
*Kinsman
Relin says
So excited!
Chiray says
Will the recording be available if we can’t make it?
MerryB says
I wondered how the all Kinsman stories fit together in the timeline and geography for their world, please?
(And should more Kinsman stories appear at any time Just Because, thank you!
Jo says
Yay! Thank you
Sunday 28th November 8am here in New Zealand… will be seeing you all…
Fox says
As a non-American I always wondered why everybody calls Connor Rogan āRoganā to his face. Especially while calling everybody else by their given name. It is his family name after all. Sounds kind of strange????
Like āAugustine and Rogan did thisā. I am pretty sure the relationship with Augustine has less familiarity in it???? I just donāt get it???? same with āMadā Rogan. To his faceā¦
Can somebody explain it to me? Shouldnāt it be at least Mr. Rogan then?
Moderator R says
I donāt think it has much to do with being American ????.
If you read the books, you will learn that he is widely known as Mad Rogan due to his military exploits. Itās his hero name, if you will.
He relishes the world knowing him under this persona, because it symbolises the danger he poses, and has indeed emphasised the “Mad” part on occasion when he was addressed as just “Rogan”. Everyone knows who it is when they hear it. He also personifies House Rogan.
In the world of Primes, it pays to have a reputation of “don’t mess with me” that precedes you š
Spence says
I would guess that it’s a carry over from the military.
I’ve been in in for so long that I don’t even bother introducing myself with my first name anymore. It’s just who I am.
Tom says
Plenty of people, males especially, get called by their surname instead of their given name – when I went to school there were seven people named Thomas – only the son of the History Teacher got the full first name, and once Tom & Tommy were taken the remaining 4, of which I was one, were known by our surnames (by teachers when they weren’t telling us off and pupils) for the entire time – and still are when we get together!
Fox says
Thanks everybody????
Kat in NJ (USA) says
My daughter and some of her high school and college friends (now 20 years old) often call each other by their last (family) name. Usually it happens with her closest friends, in sort of a teasing/disrespectful (but not serious) wayā¦.which is absolutely the opposite of how they really feel about each other. (Only the closest friends do this.) I know, doesnāt make sense, but I know itās done to show love, so itās all good! ????
JT says
It’s very common in the military, and with athletic teams and coaches, to be called by just your last name. It is not seen as form of disrespect. It is also frequent among teachers, adult to adult.
As a current and former member of all three groups, after 24 years, it is so unusual to hear my first name being called, that if it is not by a very close family member or friend, I usually ignore it — and I am female.
Humorously, about a month ago at a staff luncheon, we had a competition to see who could list as many staff members as possible out of 56 of us — 1 point for last name, 3 points for first and last names. Highest score (including leadership team) was 122 out of a possible 168. Most people scored between 36 – 80. (I will mention that about 22 of them had only been working with us about 7 weeks at that point). We got last names (mostly), but first names were rare. (I scored 94 LOL).
Wendy Wildermoth says
Yay it’s not the wee hours of the morning over here in ‘straya.

So happy.
Sakshi Kaura says
Yaaaaayyyyy…can’t wait to creepily stare at my favorite writer duo and giggle (because I am sure I will be too star struck to actually ask coherent questions. I better write them down before hand)
pang says
Good Luck! I am not going because 1am here.
Momo says
Question: Would you classify the Kinsmen series as space opera romance?
Leigh Ann Parente says
Iām traveling on the 26th!!! AUDIOBOOK FTW!!!
Yayayayayayay!
Probably means Iāll miss the Q&Aā¦which is a shame bc you never know what Gordon is going to blurt out. ????
Michael says
Is fated Blades only going to be amazon ebook? we much prefer apple ebooks.
Moderator R says
Hey Michael,
Fated Blades is an Amazon exclusive, it will be available through Amazon and libraries ????. For more info, please see here https://ilona-andrews.com/featured-release/
Carlottasouffle says
@Moderator R – It’s not showing up in the library (powered by overdrive) system to put in a pre-release hold. Is that normal for an Amazon exclusive, so we won’t be able to place a hold on it until after it’s been published? Usually with House Andrews books, a pre-release hold is available in the library, but those weren’t Amazon exclusives, so I’m not sure what to expect. Thank you!
Cory says
Omg yes!!!ā Yay!
Amanda says
I’m bummed I didn’t see the post until this morning and the registration spots are full. If space doesn’t open up day of, any chance you’ll be posting a recording of the webinar to the blog afterwards? Thanks!
Kirsten says
Same here. Dagnabbit!
Amber says
Many thanks for your wonderful specialness, Mod R!
Maria R. says
I work but Iāll try to talk to any person who has one iota of book interest about the event. Iāve got captive audience ????
Wishing all a fun time during the event ????????
Marcia McGinley says
okay so it’s a little early for a Sunday morning (6.00am) but entirely doable – looking forward to it.
And on a slightly related (because it has a Fated Blades postcard included) my calendar arrived this week and it is gloriously beautiful! It’s going to make me happy all year.
Leigh says
As much as I would love to attend I fear I will just kill my alarm clock when it rings at 3am to wake me up! Have fun everyone!! Can’t wait to hear all about it!!
Mar Ovalles says
I just watched the new Marvel movie on Disney+ . I think Shaun from (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) sounds like what Stephen from House Jiang would be like or at least his brother. The actor Simu Liu does a great job playing the goofy pal as well as the serious reluctant superhero.
Now, the Questions:
Do we get to meet Alessandro’s sisters and/or mother?
Did Catalina tell everyone (House Rogan, Baylor, Montgomery, Duncan) that Arkan is grooming the former second cousin of House Rogan to be his successor?
Does Bug have his own casita/room in the new House Baylor compound? and does he get a new dog?
trailing wife says
Those are Hidden Legacy questions, Mar Ovalles, not Kinsman ā not that they arenāt good ones. Would House Andrews answer questions around another series this time?
Moderator R says
Omg, yes, ofc. I should edit the post if that wasnāt clear- they do not need to be Kinsmen questions!
Susan says
I save my pennies for you. There is another author releasing a new book the same day. You win hands down. I have to say, the other author is so expensive, I might pass on the book. Even if I you were expensive I would save my pennies. I donāt do library books because kindle makes reading so much easier.
trailing wife says
My public library now offers ebooks in both Libby and Kindle formats, Susan. The option suddenly appeared a few weeks ago, so maybe your library has started doing so, too.
Nan says
Hidden Legacy world question: Teleport only works on organic materials. What happens to dental work and tattoos? These are inorganic and many people have. Do you teeth fall apart and skin come off? Or what?
Wendy Morrey says
This is going to be me in 4 days, 14 hours, 4 minutes, and 44 seconds. I donāt care if my house is clean and all the food acquired for the Great Feast. I am going to start a bubble bath, pour a glass of sangria, get some sort of treat and Iāll be so quiet no one will find me. Bwahaha. Iām so terribly excited!!
Hilary says
Drat. Didn’t get inot it before registration closed… have new task for Saturday morning… burning inquiries from hidden legacy: 1. do we ever find out why Regina is staying under the radar? 2. In the first conversation we see with Nevada and Linus, he talks about how family is all he has; we know his wife is gone, and he’s of House Duncan, so there had to be a house for him at some point and he and his deceased wife didn’t have kids… but will we ever get to see, when all is said and done, the full family tree for Linus and where he came from? (whether or not it relates to the Baylors)
Kelly says
I saw this on my Kindle this morning and was both SO HAPPY and SO SAD because yay it’s hear and I don’t have time until after work.
Kritter says
Will this also be recorded and able to watch at a later date?
Tina says
Living on the west coast, I was up when east coast Amazon decided it was 11/23 and my pre-ordered book dropped. Stayed up to finish it (of course) and it did not disappoint. Now I plan to re-read (after a last Thanksgiving menu shopping foray), to enjoy the twists and turns again. Thanks House Andrews – it’s nice to have another Kinsmen story to add to the library.
Sarah says
Yay, congratulations on the release! I’m really excited for the virtual party.
I’ve got a question on the Hidden Legacy series that’s been burning under my nails for a while! Relistening to the series (over and over while driving), Arabella has really grown on me — partly because I’m getting big queer vibes from her, and as a queer humanities girl myself, I really relate to her. I know there’s some implied interest on her part in Stephen Jiang, but I suppose Arabella might be bi, or interested in Stephen for reasons other than romantic ones. I’m aware you specialise in straight romance, but since you’ve written queer side characters in the past, I live in hope.
In short: Is there any chance we’re going to see an Arabella story with our fierce queen smashing things, championing the humanities and finding the girl of her dreams?
Lynell Gordon says
Can you publish a full passion cones recipe?
Thanks!
