Signed up for Bookfusion yesterday because more and more of my favorite authors are selling direct. Yea! I probably won’t ever leave kindle completely (the tyranny of the installed base strikes again), but now my other books will have a nice home.

I got it to work. downloaded clean sweep. had to install app first. book cover did not appear until I opened the book and then returned to the Kindle Library screen.
Same happened with me on iBooks
Store worked great! Was able to load to my kindle app without issue. Love the kinsmen series -Thank you!
If you care, it worked well for me. I’ve used Shopify and Bookfunnel before, so I was familiar with the process, but it worked smoothly with no issues. (Yes, I already owned them, but now I have them double in case Amazon goes rogue.)
Checked out online, no payment method required, and got both emails. Clicked the links and had the books emailed in Kindle format to myself (I don’t use their app). Then forwarded the emails with the books to my Kindle email address and they showed up in my library on my phone. I’m using an Android phone (Samsung, middle aged phone). I have no concerns that it wouldn’t also show up on my Kindle Paperwhite, if sent there.

The store worked without a hitch. I used the BookFunnel app to downloaded them to my tablet and then used the share feature to send to Kindle. (This is what I do for all of my BookFunnel books. The only thing I need to change is to replace my name with the author’s.) I did get both emails, but no matter what I do my BookFunnel emails go to my spam folder, so this way I don’t have to w*it. 😁
Now to be p*tient and w*it to give you my money.

FYI, when I confirmed the (free) order in the Shop cart I got a “something went wrong” error page, but the ebook immediately popped into my email, so nothing actually went wrong.

That error code indicates issue with connectivity – so it’s likely just a request time out 🙂 . Glad everything actually worked.

It does not have a preorder period, as release is only a week from the end of the blog serial 🙂

I just finished walking through the Meow Wolf exhibit in Denver and I think it’s your book(s). Inheritance and The Clean Sweep series. I walked through the entire thing and just kept thinking that it looked like the inside of the gate or Baha Char. It was amazing.

I’m an ebook novice. This is my first experience. What do you guys recommend as a platform for ebook reading. I use an iPhone if that makes a difference. Old dog trying to learn a new trick.
you can read using ebook apps on your phone, but I find the phone screen much too small and glaring to be comfortable.
a dedicated e-reader device like Kindle or Kobo is easy on the eyes, has long battery life, and adjustable font and lighting. it’s like reading a paper book but clearer and more lightweight!
I have and love the kobo ereader (the one with turn page buttons is best for me, but I also have one without). I like the lighting and easy library connect of the Kobo. I also own a kindle.
I hope you find an e-reader you love. The instant download is AWESOME. I live where driving to buy a book is two hours away…

No, I do not know how Silent Blade ended up in the iPad “Books” app … it was long ago and sometimes technology just kind of does an ambush when I’m not looking. I have been working on setting up new laptop for 4 days, as my old one could not make the switch to Windows 11. Had most of it figured out and almost all the documents and files and music loaded when I noticed all my jpeg photos were showing up as pdf on new computer … that took 2 hours to figure out. Aaaargh, I really am bad at technology.
Anyway, this white-haired technophobe was able to navigate your proto-store, so 👍🏻 … Looking forward to more about your store.

I think I missed a post about how BookFunnel works for authors. From their site it seems authors pay monthly subscription but there is no royalty system.
Does it mean that authors get full amount for every book purchase?

Successfully acquired the two test books via the shop. The two emails arrived as expected. The Shop email came first. The Bookfunnel email arrived a minute later.
I opted for the epub download, which worked great. The epubs loaded up on my ebook readers (Apple Books on the Mac, Moon+ Reader Pro on Android) without issues.

Kindle ebook purchases are not really owned by the purchaser and Amazon could conceivably disappear them if they wanted. TRUE or FALSE

I ask because I have everything on Kindle (and paperback and hardcover for some), and it bothers me that my ebooks from my favorite authorlords could just disappear. so, I would buy them all again from your store if I knew that I wouldn’t wake up one day and not have my preciouses. perciousi? and by own I mean regular old person just reading her book,not anything nefarious.
Amazon has made it impossible to download and has limited the number of devices you can open their purchase content on 🙂. As of now, a mass disappearance has not happened.
