Hi everyone, Mod R here.
Hope everyone in the US had a great Thanksgiving, and congratulations to the rest of us for making it to Friday!
And since it’s specifically Black Friday, I’m dropping in to let you Graphic Audio have a big sale going on, with 44% off everything until December 2nd. And there’s a certain preorder you may wish to nab in the promo – Magic Shifts, Kate Daniels 8, now releasing on January 31st 2025.
After breaking from life with the Pack, mercenary Kate Daniels and her mate—former Beast Lord Curran Lennart—are adjusting to a very different pace. While they’re thrilled to escape all the infighting, Kate and Curran know that separating from the Pack completely is a process that will take time.
But when they learn that their friend Eduardo has gone missing, Kate and Curran shift their focus to investigate his disappearance. As they dig further into the merc’s business, they discover that the Mercenary Guild has gone to hell and that Eduardo’s recent assignments are connected in the most sinister way…
An ancient enemy has arisen, and Kate and Curran are the only ones who can stop it—before it takes their city apart piece by piece.
This sale is specific to the Graphic Audio website, but the preorder is also available at the other third-party retailers (Audible etc). We will have the exclusive blog audio samples as usual, closer to release date – if you have any requests, let me know in the comments. If left to my own devices, I’ll probably request the Butt & Bee (Applebee’s) scene in Ghastek’s office, because I am five years old.
If you’ve been waiting for a big sale to catch up on the GA catalogue, a reminder that they have adapted all the works published so far in the Innkeeper Chronicles series and they are in the process of adapting the main Kate Daniels series (Kate POVs), including the Curran POV and extra material from Small Magics. They have also recently bought adaptation rights for the Hidden Legacy series (sqwee!), but those aren’t yet in production.
Each book has a sample that can help you decide whether dramatized adaptations are your cup of tea – if you enjoy radio plays, with each character being interpreted by a different actor, and the thought of having soundtracks and sound effects, these will be a new and wonderful way to experience the books you love. Here is a post with instructions on how to create an account and app stream or download the other file formats.
Speaking of releases and preorders and projects in the works, there have been a few questions about the Release Schedule page and why Maggie the Undying is the only item on it, set for two years from now.
To clarify: the Release Schedule is only updated when House Andrews has a firm, official idea about the release of a new book. This is because they wish to avoid reader disappointment as much as possible.
There will be other projects in between now and Maggie’s release. There is even a free blog serial in plans. Because edits are still eating up all the time (not for long!), fixed deadlines have not been figured out yet – so no updates to the Release Schedule.
We all know about w*it and p*tience, but the the third dirty word any self-respecting Horde dreads is delay. There’s nothing worse than getting hyped up and priming the book devouring nooks, only to get the promised precious pushed for several months.
So: we’ll let you know as soon as it’s official – and what’s official will be delivered, as always!

Good morning! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and that the brussel sprouts caramelized beautifully.
Maggie certainly has been a “demanding child”, but that’s okay. I am certain we will all love her when we get to meet her.
Enjoy your weekend.
Jeanni says
And this maybe the only time where I am “First”. Wow.
Moderator R says
Certified 😀
Jeanni says
♥️
Sondra says
Good morning! Pre-ordered! Thanks for the heads up!
Anna L says
Preordered and picked up some more Sanderson titles. Graphic audio books just make such a great background listening for chores
Beth says
Hey Mod R,
Happy Thanksgiving! I was wondering if you could answer a quick question for me. I just found on Amazon a listing for a second volume of the Innkeeper graphic novel. I thought that the first volume was the entire first season (episodes 1-50) and there hasn’t been anything else posted on Tapas. Is volume 2 just the second part of the original run or is it new content?
Moderator R says
Second part of the original run (Clean Sweep). There is still no official news for a second novel adaptation on Tapas, unfortunately.
Beth says
Thank you!
Given the way that tapas comics are consumed (the endless scroll of goodness) it’s so hard to gauge what that would look like in normal page count.
I hope they end up doing more seasons. It was really cool to see it presented visually.
Just out of curiosity, do you know how House Andrews was compensated for allowing the adaption of their IP? Was it like a one time rights payment or is it more like graphic audio where they get a form of royalties?
Moderator R says
Sorry, no idea! I could ask the agency, but no one is there today 😅
Jan F says
Well I’ve got my Black Friday Shopping done — Thanks for the heads up Mod R, you’re the best.
One of my New Year Resolutions will be to listen to the eight GA Dramatizations of KD series in order while I patiently wait (not) for the remaining two books. I love listening to them while crocheting.
Joyce says
I am trying your Graphic Audio books and hoping they will entertain me as much as your ebooks do. Bought Innkeeper #1 as a tryout on my iPad. Sometimes my eyes get tired from reading but I really enjoy your stories so this is a test run.
Have Mercy says
I have worked my way through all the GA Innkeeper books + Maude’s book and I’m officially hooked. I really don’t like audio books, but GA just hits differently. Originally I had a little discomfort with the accents, and now I’m just ready to listen to them again 😂
Tink says
We’re doing a white elephant gift exchange for the family this year, so I’m going to get a Graphic Audio gift card as my gift.
Bailey says
I’m not a big fan of audio books, but I did buy both Kate and Innkeeper. I really wish they had Hidden Legacy!
Bea says
DELAY! That particular word is a charlie horse in the heart😞.
Oh Maggie, where are you?…🤭
Wendy says
DO IT! They are so good. 😁
Breann says
If anyone is on the fence and sees this comment on Friday, Graphic Audio is also doing 4x reward points, Black Friday only. I don’t normally like audio books, but LOOOOOOOOVE the Graphic Audio books!
Max says
Haha several months, Mod R? How far delayed has Hugh #2 been now?
Thanks for the giggle. Will wait as p*tiently as a horde can…
Moderator R says
Hugh 2 has never been officially announced with a firm pub date, so the release has not been delayed at all.
Until plans are officially announced, they are just intention (a series will continue, not continue, there will be a serial etc), and subject to change.
This is precisely the point the article addresses, I’m sorry if it wasn’t clear 🙂.
There have never been shared preorder links, promo or marketing, official cover plastered everywhere, or social media hype teams for the release date of Hugh 2. Readers waiting for a sequel is par for the course, but it is not a delayed release. I hope this helps 🙂
Ms Blaise says
I adore IA books and happily wait for them to be published. The output is prolific! I hope House Andrews ignore any pressure and just work as they need to and choose to. Thank you!
Monika says
Hi, I was wondering if the Hidden Legacy books will get a GA release as well. They are my favorite and I would love to experience them in a new way. Thanks.
Moderator R says
From the article 🙂
Monika says
Oops! Just saw it mentioned above. I just want it now so badly.
Henry says
I have the four Subterranean Press IA books. Does the Press have any other IA books that are in their schedule?
Moderator R says
There are no official plans I can announce at the moment 🙂
Erika G says
Hmmm, that sounds like there are unofficial plans that you are hording knowledge of…
YAY!?
AK says
Hope you had a great Turkey Day and any Black Friday adventures were a lot less painful than The Battle of Atlanta.
Tiapet says
Absolutely love the GA Innkeeper and Graphic Audio books!
I like to listen while I’ll doing tasks around my home or in the car. I’m actually doing more housework these days because of it! 😂
Patricia Schlorke says
If there are going to be a blurb of this next Kate book, I agree with you Mod R about Roland’s call at the Casino and the drawing. Looks more like a peach. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Delay?! What’s that dreaded word? 😉😝
I was driving home from northern Indiana, so I didn’t see the blog until I got the email very early this morning.
JK says
Hidden Legacies is coming to Graphic Audio??!!!!! This is fantastic news! Thank you for the instant mood-lifter, Mod R!
Bibliovore says
I went to the GraphicAudio site but found I already had the book on order.😋
Nikki B says
unrelated to post.. but I was in a bad headspace last night and couldn’t sleep. Picked up a House Andrews book, read 15-ish pages, and it stilled the anxiety.
You guys rock.
Moderator R says
So glad you found a bit of relief!
RogueWREN says
Question about GA will they be doing the 2 Jim and Dali stories (Magic Dreams & Magic Steals) and the Andrea and Rafael 2 stories? (Magic Mourns & Gunmetal Magic) I know we got Magic Gifts which was the second part of Gunmetal Magic but we don’t have the main stories so figured I’d ask 😁 Hope everyone had an amazing holiday!
Moderator R says
It’s only the Kate POVs of the main series + the extras from Small Magic for now, but once they finish them…fingers crossed they’ve heard the BDH asking for the rest! 😁
Leigh Ann Parente says
I totally get it about waiting and all that. But then I remember:
In Sweep of the Blade, Arland tells Helen she can get a puppy.
I’m supposed to be patient.
About space vampire puppies.
Mm. Okay. Sure. I’ll work on that.
Jenn says
+1 😂
Faye says
Is graphic audio going to do a dramatized adoption of the wilmington years?
Moderator R says
At the moment, all focus is on getting the main series Kate POVs + Small Magics out. Once that is finished, which is likely to be early summer next year, we’ll see. The Horde effect is strong 😀
Faye says
thanks
Jenn says
Reading through the comments makes me more aware there are factions in the BDH as to what’s preferred next, I don’t think I’d be disappointed no matter what. I forgot about some of the fun scenes mentioned here! Like Helen’s dog-like puppy!
MILENA says
I know this is a bit off topic, but I am in the middle of Blood Heir and have SOOOOOO MANY QUESTIONS! I really, really want to know what the new pack Curan and Kate are making will looks like, What is going to happen to Jim and Dali and the old pack, what happened to Derek??, is he ever getting together with Julie…..
Any chance new books will answer those in the future?
{btw this is my first time asking an author for more books:), sorry if this is a bad subject}
Moderator R says
Yes 🙂, there will be sequels (to both Wilmington Years and Blood Heir) and they will give us the answers!
