It’s Reader Question Monday. We might have to do a Reader Question Wednesday as well, as we received many questions about Amazon and digital ownership.
You mentioned in the introduction that you usually publish a scene but this time would publish a full chapter. It made me wonder if, when planning a book, you explicitly plan for two scenes to a chapter, which seems to be your usual (though not always). Is it a thought out plan or just your natural writing rhythm?
We don’t plan a book in chapters, not do we stick to any rules regarding how long the chapters are or how many scenes they have. Chapters happen because it feels right to have a natural break in the narrative. We have a rough road map of where we are going, but when it comes to actual writing, we plot in chunks.
For example, the current Hugh chunk is
Aberdine sends people -> Hugh goes to Aberdine – > confrontation with the mercenaries.
Originally, we planned on summarizing the Aberdine delegation arrival and kind of stuffing it as a mini-flashback into the scene that opened with Hugh riding toward Aberdine. There didn’t seem like there would be enough happening during that initial meeting to warrant its own scene.
However, as we started writing it and unpacking all of the emotional undercurrents, it grew into its own chapter. This is the joy of writing: the unexpected discoveries.
Why don’t you let people point out the typos?
Because the comment section degenerates into a nitpicking session and then different writing experts start fighting with each other. This is the first draft; it is fragile and unpolished, and too much criticism will kill it. You are seeing it as it is, with all of its flaws. If you want the cleaned up version, you will have to wait until release. Muhahahaha!
So Hugh 2 is being rewritten? In 2020 it was announced that the release was on hold because it was a dark story and the world was in a dark place. I thought that meant it was done. It’s been five years, so when I look around to see if I missed anything it sounds like it may be in progress?
No. Hugh was never written, but we knew what we needed to write and at that particular time, we didn’t have emotional fortitude to do it. Writing books requires a huge emotional investment, because we, as writers, live through he character emotions so we can accurately portray them on the page.
Life interferes as well. Sometimes stuff happens to knock you off your writing rails. Yesterday we didn’t get any writing done because we email the comments from the site to ourselves and Mod R for moderation, and we have to use SMTP for that, because WordPress just kind of quit sending comments to us. For no apparent reason the SMTP callback is failing.

Despite 5 hours with host support chat, it is not fixed. They tossed me back to the SMTP plugin support, which has yet to respond. I wasn’t in the mood to write witty banter after that. I was just tired and needed some tea.
Why don’t you and Gordon make more videos where you talk about writing?
This is one is a little out of the left field. I’m guessing this must’ve come about because of the keyboard typing video. Being a writer and being an influencer are two different things. Writers primarily market their books by doing yet more writing, and influencers primarily provide entertainment while also marketing a product either directly or through ads. Some people admirably combine both.
We are not that great on camera, and we are not very entertaining. We would make terrible influencers. Neither of us has those particular skills and talents. Thankfully, we are not celebrities by any measure, so that is not required of us.
Our posts are mostly about what we do: things we write, things we cook, build, crochet, and so on. It’s less about being a writer and more about the work itself or the process. We try to maintain that boundary between product and person.
Basically, you get enough of me carrying on on the blog. You don’t need us on your YouTube.
See you on Wednesday!
…and your Blog is exzellent as well as your books are rays of light in dark times.
Thanks

Agreed!
Thank you so much for your blog and your books.

I would normally never argue with the great and powerful House Andrews but I have to take issue with
“We are not that great on camera, and we are not very entertaining.”
Your release zoom meetings are the BEST. Both of you are awesome on camera and highly entertaining, especially when it begins to meander with pet appearances and Gordon’s responses to the live chat.
Seriously, I would rather pay to see that than a new movie release.
Just saying, you are superstars in my book!!!
Yes!! Just what I was thinking!
+ 1 !!!!!!
Tuna and pet cam guest appearances make my day. Your videos are like having you to visit in my kitchen – highly comfortable/relaxed and interesting.
Gordon’s spoilers are like good Marvel post credit scenes!
+1!
+1!
+1 I especially love when Gordon gets up to let the dogs out, then gets up to let a different dog in, then has another in his lap😂!
+1000 I love watching you 2 on camera chatting with writer friends like Nalini and Grace and Jeanine especially since I love their work too.
Another +1
I so agree with you! I would like to know who told you guys this nonsense? As the great Kate Daniels once said “ Who were these everybodies and would they like to stand in front of me, preferably within ten feet, so I could discuss this issue in greater detail?”
+1
Not that I particularly want you to do videos but from what I’ve seen, influencers aren’t particularly good at it necessarily, they just appeal to a certain demographic that is at the top of the pile and hit the zeitgeist.
I have plenty of videos available to watch, but not that many blogs I want to read anymore and I really enjoy and appreciate yours! The back end of anything is always so much more work than anyone ever really understands. I always find the peek behind the curtain so interesting. I hope the technical issues are resolved without too much more effort. Also I forgot to check in on Friday and an entire chapter of Hugh and Elara(!!) just made my whole morning! Thank you!!
Love your videos whenever I can catch them. You both take such care in everything you do that I am happy to leave the pacing of your output to you. if anything, I sometimes worry that it’s so much, while greatly appreciating it.
I’m just as happy for the blog. It’s fun, informative and I love reading the comments. Then I go back to my life.
I do scroll thru Facebook a few minutes daily and even instagram on occasion. But I pretty honestly could care less about following anyone. Friends send out funny things from TikTok and I enjoy that but have even less desire to disappear down that black hole. So thank you for the blog! And I hope you work out the software weirdness! That’s a stress all its own.
I am so grateful for the blog. What you share with us is fascinating. Thank you for all of it!
appreciate the insights into your process. TYVM for sharing
Thank you for all that you give us! While I do enjoy your videos and love the chats, the blog is my happy place.
As a person who hates to be on camera, I understand not wanting to film yourself, but you are both very enjoyable to watch! Like a previous poster said, it’s a comfortable discussion on the Zoom chats. I know we’re not your actual friends, but you treat us as such and it comes across.
While you might not be true “Influencers” (a fine thing, to me), you’ve both really influenced me. Can’t remember how many other books I’ve gone out and bought after learning about them here, not to mention the tea! 😄🤗
I think the guy in the picture got named, but I can’t remember what it is. Can anybody help me out here?
According with the poll which included the most popular suggestions, Edgar Allan Prose https://ilona-andrews.com/blog/name-deed-poll/
Thanks Mod R! I knew you’d know it! You’re the BDH savior for all of us with that pesky thing that we can’t quite recall or find. 🤗
I just came here to ask the same question. Thanks Mod R! 😊
Hehehe HA are totally influencers – I honestly don’t think I ever would have discovered KDrama, webtoons or the entire genre of Paranormal Romance (there’s a story behind that 😉) if it weren’t for you guys and the blogs!
Also, the moddable keyboards might still happen 🙈😂
I love your blog! ::mic drop::
I was going to contest the “not very entertaining” statement, too.
Why were you trying to write yesterday? Yesterday was Sunday. Sunday is the day to read and put off chores that would interfere with your reading and make you feel guilty on Monday for not doing them on Sunday. Have I been doing Sundays wrong? I really thought that’s how they worked.
You’re doing Sundays correctly! 💯 😄
Damn, I did all my sundays wrong then, as it’s the day I cook for the week, clean the apartment, nap, and read😂 My saturdays are for grocery shopping and reading (and triming the tree at the moment)
I subscribe to your way of doing Sundays!
are you going at any moment come to Argentina?
it would be my mostest happyest moment to see you
all the love!
There are no travels planned for now, House Andrews have an extremely busy schedule.
But any conventions, tours etc will be announced here first 🙂
If it is between house andrews making videos vs. writing. I choose writing 😸
Your blog is great. It is the only one that I follow consistently. I enjoy the variety of topics and the snippets into writing, crafting, other authors to try, BDH membership… I enjoy and look forward to each days adventure.
Thank you
hi and in my humble opinion, for me , you both are celebrities…the very best ones!
..also you have provided me with soo much word/ world / craft / life joy ..I can’t express properly the amount of gratitude I feel towards the Almighty for blessing us with you!
May you, yours and your keyboards be blessed with good health ,safety, peace and inspiration and word flair.. amen.
💖🍀🍁🏖️🥂🍫🧭🏆🎨🌟💪💖
wishing you all the goodies life has to offer too!
+100
Your videos are highly entertaining. I think you underestimate your amazing ability to keep me smiling 😂
I love you on video, especially with Mod R hosting. I love the blog, too.
Video: I’m not necessarily a fan of the bookstore/library hosting because they mispronounce Ilona. Just a personal opinion/observation; no criticism nor negativity here! Besides, I like to think I know Mod R (ha!) and she has more insight. In turn, we get that loving BDH feeling. 😊
I understand the not wanting to be on camera. I don’t like being on camera when I have meetings for work (one of which I have to be on soon).
I enjoy reading the blog and the Horde’s comments about the post. As I have said before and will continue to say it, whatever you want to post, even if it’s about cute dogs and cats, is fine with me. 😀
I’ve always wanted to ask… did Gordon write the Curran POV scenes by himself? Or was it a team effort? And while I’m asking… does Ilona write the steamy sec scenes by herself? It seems kind of weird to think of a guy doing those lol.
I hope the SMTP problem has already been solved. If not, I will happily and freely offer my decades of SMTP expertise to help, though I know y’all have been running this place for a long time and are all highly intelligent folks and don’t need my help. Just, ya know, the BDH is *everywhere* – even in the bowels of the internet – and anything that irritates HA is The Enemy. We aren’t so good with the w*iting or the p*tience, but we can be mighty with the helping.
Grateful for the blog.
Any word on Hidden Legacy preorder for audible?
Can’t wait !!
I’m assuming you mean for the GA dramatised adaptation: the Audible preorder will be live a couple of weeks before release.
Audible and most other retailers want to know the exact length of an audio file before they allow a preorder page. It’s impossible to give an exact length at the moment, whilst actors are still recording/edits are still being done 🙂
Hmmmm – Is the link for Burn for Me on Graphic Audio not valid? They took my money a few weeks ago…..Thanks for any guidance you can provide!
The OP asked for the preorder on Audible. Audible is a 3rd party retailer.
The Graphic Audio website is owned, (unsurprisingly 😅) by Graphic Audio – meaning the same people who produce the books also sell them directly. They can list the preorder as soon as the project is on the schedule, they don’t have to wait until it’s done.
I was explaining why the preorder appears later on third party websites like Audible, based on their system demands. It has nothing to do with your preorder on GA’s own website, which is ofc valid 🙂
about your comment to Not Great on camera , perhaps someone make a Digital Version Avatars of figurs from the books and you can use this to represent you …only a litlle idea …. a only serie about how to make a book in the 21th ?….ore a we 22century…?…. and there is why i dont write…i show my dumb brain work lol… bye and good luck in US … for you and your famly Take care….i want new books … im to neddy ?
We are all too needy. You are just fine.
I think you guys are great. Consistency with your blog. Open and generous and I agree with others- very entertaining on videos.
I’m happy to have Hughday when we get it. Go forth and be fabulous with your week.
Gracias.
I have a Hugh related question – is Baile based on on an actual castle ? The prior snippet says it was brought to Kentucky brick by brick from Europe by someone with too much money, which sounds like a pre-shift thing.
Probably Martin castle in Versailles, Kentucky, but the authors would just use it as a starting point, as with most of the references, it’s not the actual castle transposed in the text- new backstory, new look etc 🙂
versarllies ? like the first in france …i know towns and City in US have twin names in Europa but Not that versailles … cool i will Lok the pics about castle
The location of the fortified Kentucky castle is in Versailles, Kentucky (near Lexington, Kentucky). It is spelled the same as the royal town in France, but has a different pronunciation (ver-saylz, I have been informed).
I love the blog. I would not watch all the videos. I do prefer reading than watching movies at the moment.
Reading has a calming effect on my brain, watching videos doesn’t.
Now of course, English isn’t my primary language. I enjoy the Q& A after book release, but the Mod R transcriptions are a great help. Thanks Mod R !
Also, I think that if you prefer doing blog posts, than it’s the best.
Thank you for the whole chapter!
I enjoy your explanations of how crafting a book happens!
Hello,
I have question for wednesday. I was relisening Kate and it ocured to me that I don’t know what happened with Adib The djin. Will he surface in Willmington series? Is he still with biohazard or did he board some ship in search of a djin kindom? Did he make a kingdom of ghul?
the djinn dog what he Not in Service for 10 years for biohazard ?…musst read on again but Thing he is
For five yers. But I think Willmington is later. So what is he doing? Also What did he do for biohazard? For some reason djin in a fedora is poping in my head. Inspektor Adib 🙂
More agreement that this blog is awesome!!! Came for the writing updates and snippets but stay (check at least daily) for bits of life and pets. At this point if I tell my husband that I read something on a blog, he responds why don’t you just say Ilona Andrews, as this is the only blog I follow 😀
I look forward to your blogs and will take any snippet you graciously provide.
The last Hugh update was amazing!
I love being able to read the books while you’re writing them on the blog. It makes the books really special and is one of the reasons I like the Innkeeper books so much because I get to remember that we the BDH got to vote on the candidates each week and there were pictures of each person. It’s really special thank you so much for doing it.
Makes me think of my sister. She writes very good scifi, fan fiction short stories. I asked her once whether she had ever considered submitting/publishing them professionally and she basically said that writing was a relaxing diversion from her real job (physics). If she wrote professionally then it wouldn’t be a fun hobby that she could pick up when she felt like it. It would be WORK!
Thanks for the insight into your writing process. I like seeing how the sausage is made.
While you can have a very valid boundry about the amount of time you spend in front of a camera, I’m going to respectfully disagree that you aren’t good at it.
I’ve always enjoyed your launch parties, live Q&As, panels, etc.
I personally happen to enjoy seeing your dynamic live and in person, but I also realize that a lot of “influencer” type stuff would also include editing which is more time dedicated to something that is not writing.
Thank you for every glimpse of you that you do share. You are a very special team.
I wouldn’t mind a YT vid … if it was narrated by the VA for Curran 🙂 lol love the slice of life blog
Thank you for breaking down info for us. Also, I get tickled pink whenever there is a video I know it is REAL and something that is important to you, which is very interesting to your loyal BDH lol.
“Basically, you get enough of me carrying on on the blog.”
This is almost correct. We get almost enough of you carrying on on the blog. We don’t get nearly enough of Gordon (and not just because of spoilers)! And we are in the midst of a severe pet photo drought!
I look forward to anything you write about. I am the only non-crochet/knitter in a craft zoom, and the knit blogs I love and forward to those who understand them. We all discuss your books while crafting. You are a bright sun on a cold and dark day.
Hello everyone!
I’m sorry for being late to the ‘Hugh’ party. However, I’m beyond excited to start reading again about my fantasy man!! 🔥🔥 I was seriously having Hugh withdrawals. 😅
Question: I know that there are Chapters being posted for us to read (yay), does that mean that there will not be second Iron and Magic book coming out soon? Is the entire book being posted chapter by chapter on this site weekly or biweekly like Kindle Vella?
Hi SuSu,
I’m so glad you are enjoying the snippets!
No, that’s not what it means at all 🙂 . Hugh 2 will be a published book, which will be released in all the usual formats (print, e-book, audiobook) and available at most retailers.
The snippets and sometimes whole chapters that we get on the blog are a treat for the readers, and they are the first draft, unedited and un-proofread of the manuscript. They will not probably turn into a full-blown serialised issue, as happens with the Innkeeper, according to the authors https://ilona-andrews.com/blog/wait-is-it-hughday-again/. But just like Innkeeper, at some point, all the Hughdays will be taken off the website, the flow between them will be smoothed, things will be added and edited out, it will go through several rounds of self and professional edits, beta readers and proofreaders.
After which it will grow up into a final manuscript and be published 🙂
Thank you so much for explaining! ☺️
I am enjoying reading anything and all that is posted about Hugh! Soooo excited that we get these treats! Edited or unedited…YAY to all! Thank you! Love all the books. ❤️
Hi ! Does that means that to reduce your workload we should stop writing comments ?😄
😀 No, please, I still need a job lol
As if the BDH would ever stop commenting on anything and everything! 😂
This is why I love this community so!!!! 💕💕💕
I love the videos you record with Mod R, because the love and chemistry there is easy to see. It’s all interesting and exactly what we want to know, not the same questions other interviewers ask. The transcripts afterwards are great too, but we’d miss out if we didn’t see all the shenanigans that happen: the pets, Gordon and the Wasp, Mod R’s tinfoil hat etc
I LOVE Kate Daniel’s series. Do you have any idea when more (if at all) books will come out?
At the moment, the plan is writing Hugh’s second book. Hugh is in the Kate Daniels world 🙂.
After that and edits to Maggie finish, there will be additions to that schedule but no one knows yet what they will be.
A Wilmington 3 followed by Blood Heir sequel are in the authors’ intention, but not on the schedule and without pub dates.
All official, cast in stone information about book release news will always be up to date on the Release Schedule page https://ilona-andrews.com/release-schedule/
I like you to write and write and write and write some more. Although your Christmas tree is always amazing.
I enjoy your videos. As I always say, you are very clever people. It comes through your writing and videos. But do what makes you happy, the world is in a tough spot right now, being kind to ourselves is important.
Thank you for your wonderful writing, videos not required😃
Have you guys ever considered or been approached to write a book with someone else? Not an anthology with multiple authors each contributing a short story, but a full-length novel written by you two and another person? It seems like I’m seeing more of these collaborations. I’m curious if it’s the authors who approach each other or if a publisher puts the authors together.
Related question… If you could write with anyone – dead or alive – who would it be?
Please don’t forget that You also do book/Drama/TV show recommendation. This is one of my favourites part of your blog, since media You recommend has yet to fail my expectations. It is always nice to watch something new in the meantime between re-listening graphic audio Kate Daniels audiobooks.
I love your glimpse into your life as a writer and a person. It is enough that you probably prioritize yourself when doing the blog post, I love knowing that you are a knitter and your projects. To me, it adds a little bit of depth knowing that you’re a real person and how serious some of your stories can get, it’s a release that’s worth doing and not keeping/letting it in your head.
CANNOT express how happy that Hugh’s second book is in the works. I am in love with his character, and sooooo curious about Elara, her beginnings and all the details and secrets of their world.
While I do enjoy your posts about life and all the little things (because they can be either hilarious, heart breaking or provide food for thought), I am waiting with baited breath for each snippet/chapter.
When you skip a week – I am irrationally upset. Jeez do I need to get a life or what? 🙂
Thank you. I love your writing, I really do. Pretty sure you are my absolute favourite writing team. Bless your cotton socks!
Odds bodkins! My meagre understanding is insufficient to comprehend the need some have to criticize the glimpses of your raw material you choose to gift us with.
That said, my utter lack of knowledge regarding SMTP leaves me again quoting The Great Sage, who so wisely and so long ago, said:
“To err is human. To really screw things up, you need a computer.”
Publishing scenes in a story would be stressful. I hope Hugh 2 goes well. I loved the first one, and I’m greedy for the second.
Thank you for explaining your writing process, and for giving me hope that we might see the entire confrontation in the next release! Or soon. Whatever portion you release will be wonderful.
I pray that the Horde never puts our own desire for content above your need for emotional space. I know individuals do, but they are not acting as part of The Horde in those very wrong brain farts.
One of my favorite authors, Jana DeLeon, has had a series of horrible heartbreaks resulting in the completely unexpected death of her wonderful husband, followed shortly afterward by the unexpected decline and death of their beloved dog. And yet some people on her page are asking for more books. They are being shot down, of course, and some of them didn’t know the tragedies, but my heart hurts for her, and I think of all my favorite authors as I pray for her. May it never be.
I understand more fully now, where the inspiration for Catalina’s magic comes from…
House Andrews writes wonderful stories, pulling in the BDH with their magic (clams)
The BDH: we love you, we love everything you do, we love your snippets, we love your blog, how about videos too? how about even more (fill in the blank).
Mod R, you are a marvelous Arabella!
Thank you! I just read Blog from the last month catching up. It’s like opening a great big box full of presents and unwrapping all sorts of lovely, sparkly bit and pieces.
Hi
are yiu planning a sequel to blood heir. I would love to know does Julie znd Derek get together.
Yes, the Aurelia Ryder series will continue. At the moment, the authors are writing Hugh’s sequel, however 🙂.
Thank you!
Just Thank you to both of you for the writing and time you invest to talk to your readers. Thank you to ModR for all the hard work. Thank you to all the people in the background who support you so we can have amazing stories to indulge in.
Sorry, must disagree with you on something. It doesn’t happen often. However, you are incorrect on something. You are AMAZING on camera! The give and take between you and Gordon is funnier than heck, especially when he spills spoilers. You are both VERY entertaining!! I sign up for every Zoom with BDH that you do, and love every moment of it. So there is your criticism of the day. 🙂 Personally, I want you to do whatever you need to be healthy and happy. BDH will deal.Believe me, I look forward to releases as much as any other BDH member. I always preorder and set aside the arrival day as a book holiday, and read is what I do that day upon arrival. Readers got to read, and writers got to write. So, please do whatever you need in order to keep producing this wonderful wonderful WONDERFUL “stuff”. Insert multiple heart emojis here. 🙂
“the release was on hold because it was a dark story and the world was in a dark place”…
… I would make the argument that the world is not less-dark than it was. Probably more so.
🙁
I will read, watch and listen to anything you want to write, blog or video. You guys are the best! 💓
I have a question: as I understand it Maggie underwent a lot changes through several edits.
Did your original vision remain intakt through that? Are you happy with the changes or is it more like Ruby Fever where you were just glad that it was done?
You underestimate yourselves, Mrs. Ilona! Your approach to dogs, cats, kids and daily life is actually quite entertaining; we can relate to your headaches and laugh with you over the oddities of life, Charlie and Tuna. As for celebrity-you have a cult following in the BDH. Thanks for the Hugh snippets, sharing your refrigerator woes and the adventures of your kiddos.
Hoping someday, Kate Daniel is a movie series, with you 2 in control to keep Kate, Kate.
❤️
Heehee I read the title and thought… wait there are videos about Hugh? I’ve no idea why a title that points out a distressing lack of something automatically makes me think that there is at least 1 of that something in existence somewhere… but whatever…
Im oddly glad I was wrong.
This is the only blog I follow. It is perfect. I love the randomness of giant online book club, meshed with crafting commentary, meshed with humorous (and not) snark about life. Occasional videos don’t interupt the important stuff like ‘How is Tuna doing’ and ‘Teas I have liked’.
Please don’t change!
I vote for more Tuna, cause I am massively addicted to cat videos when I am not reading House Andrews books.
Thank you!
+1 more Tuna, yes pls. Although it has been forever since we had pic or vid of little MeowMeow(your kid’s little black cat). Is the one of her squeezing under the door still up? It was my favorite!
Tech issues are no fun. I hope yours is resolved soon! Remember, when starting what should be a 5 min tech call, bring provisions. A good cup of tea and snacks make the 5 hours just fly by. Ok, they don’t, but it does make the whole ordeal more tolerable.
We all enjoy whatever you wish to share with us. The videos are wonderful because y’all are just being yourselves. If they were all polished and fake I wouldn’t bother. But it is so good to see decent people just dealing as they can with what life has thrown them. You are real people, and rather kind ones, at that. I think all you need to do is just continue being yourselves, and the BDH will love you for it. That and your books, ofc. But they’re kinda nearly the same thing, an oasis where cruelty is not tolerated, and people do their best for each other. We all need more of that, so thank you.
Amen!
I love the blog and your books. So excited you share what you do!
I do plants. I was on a planty thing at midnight on a random day, and lo, the Horde was there. I’d say you’re pretty well known 😀 but you’re that great type of well known that can still go to the pet store in pajama pants. #goals
Thank you for taking the time to answer questions from your fans.
I am just thankful for anything you create and share! Of course I have series that are my favorites but you are kind enough to give us snippets along the way with whatever you are working on and like appetizers before a feast, I am enjoying every bite!
First thought, “you’re celebrities to meeee!” Lol. I appreciate seeing the reality in the snippets of your life that are shared here on the blog. And I absolutely love the posts about writing & your writing process. I would love to read more about your process of working together as a husband & wife team & what that ends up looking like practically. I’ve imagined one of you typing while the other paces the room, acting out fight scenes, throwing witty banter at each other.
Thanks for sharing as always!
Apoptosis of absolutely nothing:
“Here Kitty, Kitty”
Just re-reading Small Magics. And also just to remind you AL that whatever you write, we love and will continually reread because the words are wonderful and the worlds are wonderful too.
Wishing you Patience (yes; that word) with the Pesky Programs and Twatty Textsupport people are. We are all in THAT boat, together.

Arghghgh!
Gosh, that’s interesting. I don’t categorise an Influencer as someone who does videos. I see you two as acting as Influencers, in a different way from those whose follow the crowd. It seems to me you live by and act on your ethics and personal beliefs, and seeing you two do it inspires me to continue doing the best I can to set a similarly high standard for myself. I am grateful for the standards of behaviour you model.
