Y’all have probably realized from the title that Ilona Andrews’s has placed me in charge of hosting the giveaway of 5 signedKinsmen Collector edition copies. This is a super awesome event, for obvious reasons. The copies the lucky winners will be receiving are hardcover & have yet to be even unwrapped.
So how do you win? That’s a good question! Here’s how you can qualify for one of these amazing Kinsmen Collector Editions. On this post, leave a comment saying who is your favorite character in the Kinsmen series and why.
This giveaway is open to all readers; 3 copies will be awarded to US residents and 2 copies will go to international readers. Please be sure to tell us what country you are in to be eligible for the international giveaway. Replies to other comments in the thread do not count as entries.

On Friday, I will use a random number generator to select the 5 lucky winners. Like I said, it will be completely random. But to even have a chance of being selected, you have to comment!

I am from Australia and Meli from Silent Blade is my favourite although it was hard to choose. I want to tough and deadly like her but still able to enjoy cooking.
Meli, because of her cooking skills, but I also have experience with changing yourself so someone will love you, but being rejected. It resonated. I’m on the waiting list for the others from my library.
Claire, especially that first few chapters of her life on Uley, and the difference in the Bionet on the different planets. And how she experiences all these new things and took them in stride. She encouraged me to explore SiFi in books, not just films.

Hi – very tough choice between Meli and Claire for me. So I’m going with Claire because I admired her tenacity, strength of will and her honor no matter how hard the road is.

Celino is my favorite character because he grows into being a better person from his experiences in life. It is nice that he got the happy ending, but clearly that wasn’t his motivation to change since it took two years for the happy ending. I like to think it did it because he had learned it was the right thing to do and he did it with no expectations of reward. (US)
I really loved Claire in Silver Shark although there is not much difference in my appreciation of all of the leading ladies. In fact one of the things I really enjoy about the Kinsman stories is that all of the main characters have real depth in a very short amount of word space.
Deidre from A Mere Formality is my favourite. Razor sharp intellect, unflappable, and as for thinking of turning an almost endless list of sexual positions into a diplomatic negotiation: she’s intriguingly complex and nuanced.

I like all the lead characters in both stories actually, especially the female lead. Claire is like the calm deep sea while Meli is as fierce as fire! I personally love how Meli executes her ‘revenge’ though.

I’m in the it’s hard to choose category, but if forced I will go with Silent Blade, Meli Galdes. She’s just a bad ass. Love her!
Meli is my favorite, she doesn’t let her past break her and instead becomes stronger than most people can ever accomplish. She’s also smart and doesn’t let anything get in the way of what she wants. I also liked ” A Mere Formality”, It may have been short but it made me smile and I love the characters! (US resident)

My favorite character is Claire from Silver Shark. While Meli has great points I identify better with Claire, she has been at rock bottom and had to work her way back up. I also liked her relationships with other characters, she is deeply loyal and caring even coming from a society which tried to rip that out of her.

I live in the US and I like Claire. She goes through a lot of personal growth and fear and yet she never lets this stop her from moving forward. She also never thinks a job is too far beneath her, but strives to do the best job possible at whatever she is assigned, including challenging herself to cooking.
I like Claire best – because she’s honorable. But my all time favorite story is Swine and Roses.
Oh, and I’m in the US. Sorry. Forgot that part.

Meli is my favorite because of her practical approach to make the best of her life despite obstacles that are out of her control. I love that she refined her talents in melding, cooking, and gardening. And I appreciated that she didn’t fall into Celino’s arms right when he finally realized who she was and how badly he hurt her. I also liked that she did indeed hit him like a brick once she grew up. I’m in the USA.

I loved all of the characters from the Kinsmen Universe, but for the purpose of this contest I’m going to go with Meli. The dahlias, representing color, are my favorite character. I know they don’t have emotions or intellect. Claire was great. But the differences between the worlds were so clearly delineated by the colors, especially the flowers. It made the story richer.

Despite her dreary upbringing, war, separation… – she has managed to preserve an empathic and loyal heart… and she stays true to herself, even when faced again by life threatening situations in her new and hard rebuilt life.

Claire is my favorite character in this series. She is one of those people who remake themselves after their lives fall apart. The courage to reinvent our lives, especially in the wake of disaster, is a quality that I admire greatly.
