I am tired, and my brain is fuzzy, and I do not want to work today. My brain is full on rebelling against producing more words.
A small dirty child darted toward us. Will’s arm snapped out. He caught her by the shoulder.
The little girl grinned at me. One of her teeth on the right top side was missing. “Buy a bracelet, my lady? Only 2 dens!”
She held out a bracelet of shells and sea glass. Darotha. I couldn’t believe it. She actually found her.
I nodded to Will and held up 3 fingers. He pulled three dens out of his pocket and put them into the little girl’s grimy palm. She handed the necklace over to him.
“Do you have news about my special order?” I asked.
She nodded. “Come to the statue tonight at 10 bells. Bring the carriage. It is far.”
She giggled and dashed off into the crowd.
::stares some more::
I know what comes after this. I just don’t want to work today. May the odds of having a productive Tuesday anyway be ever in our favor.
