    • Hi Alex, I’m not sure what you mean by “first merchandise store”, sorry.
      The merch store was open once before and it is a separate storefront, which will be linked in a banner on the IA website and announced officially with great fanfare and all the details 🙂

  17. Uhmmm. Re Amazon Canada — who said Magic Clams … oops … Claims doesn’t show up on searches there?

    I searched for it on Amazon Canada back in February to pre-order the Kindle version. And again last month to pre-order the paperback. Found it both times with no trouble at all…

    • Canadian readers have reported it yesterday and I was able to replicate the error 🙂

      It appears to have solved itself now- I love when that happens!

  18. Yay mercy! Magic Clams 🐚 release question – based on the countdown clock, is the formal release time midnight ET? And if so, do you know if Kindle will send all preorders then or at midnight in the account’s/Kindle’s local time? Thank you!

    • The clock on the first page is set for ET, I’m not sure about “formal release” 🙂 – Australia is getting it in 15 hours!

      The rule is midnight for wherever you are- but I do think countries are seen as a unit, as far as I’ve gleaned from comments. So if your country has multiple timezones, they’ll pick one and stick to it.

      Afaik, for the US it’s midnight PST (prob because Amazon headquarters are in Seattle)- but please correct me American friends! Anytime after that, you should check- sometimes a resync makes it appear if there is trouble.

      • I won’t make promises, but Magic Tides dropped for me at midnight central time. So I’m hoping for the same tomorrow night.

      • I’m on the US west coast (3 hours behind east coast)and my kindle pre-orders usually drop between 9:00 and 9:05 PM the night before release.

  21. Last book release I started reading in the middle of the night when I should have been asleep. I kept thinking I should stop reading and go to sleep. I couldn’t put it down. Missed a lot of sleep

    This release I am going to try not to do that.

    • You know you’re going to say to yourself “just a little bit more reading. I can’t stop in the middle of a big Kate fight or Kate and Curran time.” Then when you look at the time it will be time to get up for the day. 😀

  22. I just came here to see the less than a day on the countdown for the release. Woo hoo! I am so excited.

    I retired from history teaching this May and now I am going today for an interview for a job as a genealogist. I am very nervous. First job interview in 19 years – that’s how long I was at my last teaching job.
