We are sorry; here is a picture of a kitty.

The blog will be shutting down for installation of new theme shortly. We will be stopping the blog newsletter, because we will be moving things around and we do not want you to get twenty million worldbuilding posts.

So if you come back and see that things are under construction, that’s why. 🙂 We expect to be down for under 24 hours.

I just want to be done, so I can get back to writing. Unfortunately, there ios a limited staging window here, so I need to get a move on and get this done. Fifty million buy links still must be linked. ::shakes:: I am so tired of the damn buy links. Apparently we’ve written 25 full length novels. 25 x 6= 150 buy links. And that’s not counting the damn novellas. Argh.ARGH.

  1. Wish I could help you… Probably more work to get me worked in, but it is the kind of job I like to do, and with my 40 years of IT-experience I mostly get it done without much errors. If it would help…

    • I had the same thought. Except I hate WordPress and only do it when forced. It’d be easier for me to rewrite the site than to change the WordPress ( btdt)… It’s great for small, user maintained sites. But the bigger you get, the harder it gets. At least in my experience. Funny because 16 years ago my friend and I set out to write something like WordPress but couldn’t find a market for it. I understand why it’s popular… Just not my cupppa.

  18. Buy links, I know that pain well. In fact I’ve been helping someone with their own similar woes with a master spreadsheet containing: titles of books, book series, publishing date, publisher, isbn, links (including affiliate), at each of the venues books are available (amazon, b&n, indiebound bookshop, etc.). Plus a few other spreadsheet fields.

    Though I only know you through your work and generous Family narratives, there is that invincible quality to you and Gordon. If today’s world events teach us nothing – we should realize that words matter . The old Greeks did not distinguish between word and deed .   51. I feel you. My husband just restored a late 60’s jukebox. I spent the afternoon making new labels for the 45s he loaded into it so the kids could operate the thing. I never want to see another song list in my life. Seriously, I am good. If he brings home another juke box, he’s on his own.

  95. I love how the Ryder (Blood Heir) chapters are set up, so much easier to read in order than the back and forth throughout the blog posts. New and improved always takes an adjustment. Great title by the way! I hope you can celebrate the end of your Herculean efforts tonight. I haven’t broken the news to my granddaughter that actually writing the book is the “easiest” part of the whole author business. I’ll let your posts do that.????

  114. The current theme of the website when I wrote this comment looks so neat and magical! I’m viewing this from my mobile phone. Love how you make the comment box on top of the overall comments in the Blog, it saves me a lot of scroll downs if I want to comment on a blog post that already have hundreds of comments.

    Also, the dropdown of the navigation bar under “Menu” looks so classy! The web looks so cool and so pretty x)

    One thing – when I hover over “post comment” button, it completely disappears – I guess it’s just the purple rectangle turning white, because the hand pointer is still there, but since the text is white as well, the button seems to have vanished – is that on purpose or is it something on my end? (I do have some script-blocking addons installed)

    I can see a link to ‘Admin’, just under the title (on this page: Shut Down is Imminent), which leads to another page. Is this desired or an option that needs to be turned off?
