I have never had to apologize so much in my entire life.
A number of items are out of stock. The vendors’ system allowed the orders to go through, but they do not have the items in stock and they cannot give us an ETA, so we are back to issuing refunds. We deeply apologize over this inconvenience. It is not something we can control and the vendors were unprepared for the volume of orders.
To the group of people who are posting about their merch issues in the fan group: please email the store at storeadmin@ilona-andrews.com. There is no point in posting in the fan group. They can’t help you. Please email us instead so we can help you.
If your item is defective, email us, and we will send the replacement or issue a refund.
All of this has convinced us that it is not cost effective for us to keep running the merch store. I am the one running it. Instead of working on the book right now, I am issuing refunds for the muscle Tee.
I like writing books. I don’t like apologizing and dealing with stock issues. I really don’t like doing something that upsets the BDH.
So we are finishing up. We are deeply sorry about the stock issues. We will make sure that everyone who is due for a refund is getting a refund and that all of your items have either been replaced or arrived safely. After that, we are shutting down permanently.
And now I am issuing refunds for the replacement V necks because they are out of them too. This has taken a massive emotional toll. The customers are disappointed, and I feel guilty and terrible. We are the storefront. The fault ultimately lies with us. The process just does not work for the volume of BDH orders. We are doing our best to make this right and it’s in everyone’s best interests that we stick to books in the future.
Please do not suggest alternative vendors in the comments. We are really and truly done.

I’ve worked retail. Dealing with customer complaints sucks canal water.
I’ll miss some of the BDH stuff, but the notion of causing you all headaches when dealing with broken items or wrong items received, just makes my stomach ache for you… and who needs that kind if ulcer anyway?
I much prefer your books.
Thank you.

So sad! I love my lion tee shirt! I understand completely! Rather you write than become a shop keeper with all the requisite issues. (Am I first?)

I love the merchandise I bought at the first iteration of the store, but I thoroughly understand and support your decision to end the store. You and Gordon are writers, not retailers. Don’t exhaust yourselves physically and emotionally doing an uncongenial job. Write books, bring us all joy, you in the writing and us in the reading.

If at some point you could outsource it all to a capable and trusted person, then maybe you could reconsider, but it definitely isn’t worth the mental energy or time that it is requiring for you. Especially since it wasn’t designed to actually be an income stream.

So sorry there were issues. I am very happy with the merch I got last time and this time (though kicking myself because I forgot 1 particular sticker size I wanted to order through no one’s fault but my own). I concur that it is far better for our beloved House Andrews to write than to spend their time running a merch store.

also this is good for my budget 🙂

I couldn’t agree more. I know of no other authors who would put themselves through hell just to please their fans. You are wonderful people, Ilona and Gordon. Do what you do best, and merchandise be damned.

I am in an HOA and we have an official and unofficial Facebook page. OMG do people complain. I will NEVER understand why they think complaining in the Facebook will accomplish anything. The complain about the city, the water bills, the HOA Board, and the property management company to do something and resolve something. Do any of these people actually contact the city, the board, the property management company? No. For some reason they think complaining on the Facebook page will get results. Then they complain because nothing is happening.
Elizabeth Lee says
*snort* sometimes I think people don’t actually want the problem fixed because they enjoy complaining.
Elizabeth Lee says
That is so awful that people are blaming you for vendor issues. Like you’re making the items & sending them from your house or something…
It’s understandable that you don’t ever want to deal with that again 🫠
Ilona says
No, people should be blaming us. We are the storefront. The ultimate responsibility is absolutely ours.
I am not cut out for this business. I admit defeat, issue all the refunds, and not put myself or BDH through this again.
Elizabeth Lee says
But also you can’t control supply chain issues. I’m a corporate accountant and it happens to Every Single Business. Except most places have dedicated customer service (which it sounds like the vendor does have but people are contacting you instead). People aren’t messaging the CEO to complain about getting the wrong color when Target sends them the wrong socks.
Please don’t beat yourself up over it ♥️
Ilona says
You are very kind.
I know my limitations now. I am not wired for running a POD business.

FWIW, I had a GREAT experience in the store. Easy to use, fast delivery. On delivery I squealed like a 5-year-old and hugged my tote bag to my chest to the amusement of my whole family. Thanks for going the extra mile to offer the merch!
Tink says
I agree. I had a great experience and love everything I bought. (I once bought a smart phone through Amazon and what I got was the display box. Not the phone. The display box.)

I also had a great experience and have loved all my merch. I’ve been wearing my T-shirts all weekend. Just got my last piece today (yes, I drink my coffee black so you know what that means ;)). I know you’re hearing all the complaints but I think more people are happy than not. We appreciate you.
Virginia says
I had a good experience, too, fast and complete. Granted, I just bought a Void tee shirt and a journal as gifts plus a boatload of stickers for myself and the grandkids.
I’m sorry to hear about the store’s demise but I completely understand why. Your books are the important “product.” The merch is only ever a fun bonus.
Patricia Schlorke says
Totally understand to no longer do the store. Your health, well-being, and writing should be what counts.
Thank you for everything for the two stores that the Horde totally demolished. We now have special edition stuff now. 😁
I don’t understand why people complain to you about the merch. Stuff happens. You told all of us at the very beginning to contact the store if something goes wrong. Plus, it’s not your fault if a vendor doesn’t honor their agreement with the store. 🤦♀️
Patricia Schlorke says
By the way, I got all three t-shirts. Tomorrow when I go back to work, I’m wearing my Void t-shirt. I’m going to be working on validations.

As a person that loves merch and buys, in all honestly way too much of it, I can say from my POV the House Andrews merch was one of the smoothest “fandom” merch stores. Being in customer service myself, I can understand why not having a “perfect” product can be upsetting for the buyer and it seems like the out of stock issues on the vendors end compounded it all.
I had an issue with a previous item the last time the store was open and it was handled professionally to a happy end result.
This most recent store opening, while I haven’t received all of my order, the email communication (confirmation & shipping notifications) have all been timely. The products I have received have been high quality and well done.
While I’m personally sad about the decision to close the store for good, as a CSR I completely understand the time, effort and emotional turmoil selling a product to the public takes.
In the end, imo it’s important to do what’s best for the House Andrew’s crew well being.
Thanks for all your efforts. <3
RT Boyce says
Sorry you are going through so much hassle with the store orders!
Thank you for all you do, House Andrews!

I love all the merch I got and will treasure it, but while I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to get such cute and amazing pieces in the future, I understand why you don’t want to continue. Well, I’m now even more excited about my haul from the store, knowing it was my last shot at the goodies.
I put stickers on my favorite drinking mugs (they only get hand washed anyway) and was showing them off to everyone who even looked at me today. “Look at my new shiny!!” Good thing I’m used to everyone looking at me funny and shaking their heads.
I’m sorry that the store was such a horrid experience for you. But maybe you’ll get at least a small grin at the thought of a grown adult bouncing around like a super ball in a rubber room over a sheet of stickers.

Though I understand why you can’t continue, that’s so sad ! Would it be possible to buy some images to order ourselves some goodies with them or too complicated ? Because now I wish I bought more ^^

There will probably be an arrangement like this happening in the future, around the holidays or the next release, but it’s a bit early to discuss details 🙂
wingednike says
I was just thinking this might be the way to go. Sell the image file and customer can place it on whatever article they want.
Robbie says
I would LOVE if it were someday an option for us to purchase permission to use existing images via a page, at our own risk and on any article using a manufacturer of our own arrangement?
Or even to potentially create and share new images via the fan pages with your permission?
I’m in New Zealand, I never ordered any merch since the store couldn’t process shipping to me, but I would absolutely get something made locally if I had permission to use the images.

Books rule! You’re fabulous writers and I’d rather have a kick-ass book than merch. We love the merch, but we love the books more. And your mental health is far more important – you’re writers not vendors. We’ve got your back.

This corner of the BDH cannot express enough how much all of your efforts are deeply appreciated.

After all, books rule.
Rebecca says
I am so sorry that this has been such a nightmare to deal with! I have some great merch and am happy to have it, but it isn’t worth raising your blood pressure with all the issues it entails!
Maybe down the road you can get a third-party vendor who can directly handle things for you. I don’t think you should ever be put in the position of having to deal with order and merchandise issues directly. You’re right: your job is writing books and you are EXCELLENT at your job.
It would be like making a surgeon take time out from operating on someone to clean out the fridge in the break room.

I’m sorry to hear about all the store issues and I totally understand how exhausting it was for you to fix everything. I don’t think the vendors actually realized what kind of order numbers they would receive from the BDH even though you probably tried to emphasize that information to them. I second the idea of making designs available to chosen vendors so orders could trickle in and not avalanche in. I realize you have all you can handle right now but maybe after the holidays you could think about it. On a lighter note, Drago was meowing under my window this morning at 5 a.m. I let him in, positive I let him in last night, and fed them. An hour later I hear banging and meowing again, so I’m checking the house looking for shut doors. He’s outside again! I went to check my bedroom window and the screen was pushed out at the bottom, so he could slide out but not get back in! I’ll be restricting that window to a 3 inch opening now. They both love to sit on that wide window ledge and look outside. Hope you are both recovering!
Nancy Weaver says
Happy comment! Happy! Everything went perfect for my order. Correct sizes, correct colors, correct images! Love they used Glidden shirts that last years! Love! Thank you as we know dealing retail while sick is horrible. Really horrible! So sorry we broke the good store with too much love. Maybe in a few years will try again, but true that we would rather have happy writers than the merch. Love from BDH!!!
Ami says
I’m so sorry this is so awful for you. I completely understand that you don’t want to deal with this mess, you want to write books. This is why people sell licensing rights to vendors who do that full time so the vendor deals with it and they don’t have to. Maybe someday you would consider such a course so we could get our fix and not have to bother you.
Debbie says
Is there extra stock that was not sold that you will be doing a close out for? I forgot to get a large carry bag and had plans to get one of the Evil type bags next time.

I’m so sorry this was such a nightmare for you. I’m glad I got all my lovely BDH merch and will treasure it as it will be the last of its kind. Thank you for all that you do for us and thank you for hours and days and weeks of storytelling that brings so much joy.
John says
I am sorry the merch store was such an overwhelming and stressful project for you. You were already trying to do final edits on a book while working against a deadline and through Covid. The last thing you needed was more stress in your lives.
While I am disappointed there will be no more HA “merch”, I completely understand your decision and can only agree with it. I think most people or groups that do fan merch do it on a regular basis as a secondary income stream – and usually have some sort of minions to run that side of their business. Doing it yourself as a non-profit fan service only makes sense if you really enjoy it and can treat it like a relaxing hobby as a break from your “dayjob” of writing great books.
For the record, my loot from the Canadian storefront arrived promptly in good condition. And your order process was quick and easy with timely email updates. Very professional!
The quality of the mug, sweatshirt, tote bag and T-shirt are all excellent.
The only thing I haven’t received yet is a T-shirt I ordered from the US storefront. It was printed, has been shipped, and I am just waiting for USPS and CanPost to decide between them when they should deign to deliver it to me. I am sure it will be fine too.
So please count me as a very happy customer to balance out at least a little of the grief…
Siobhan says
Make that two! Everything I ordered says it’s shipped, and most of the EU stuff has arrived already in good condition and as ordered.
Lisa says

Please, please do not angst about the store. We love the merch. The merch is great. BUT we the BDH would much rather have you spending your days writing. Hug, as much as I love all of my merch, I understand. A friend of mine runs a store for the local museum so if you ever want me to ask for advice etc let me know. There is no way that yall should be the one dealing with logistics, we need a dedicated fandom nerd store front or person. And dealing with that on top of covid is the worst.

Sad, but totally understandable. Thank you for going above and beyond trying to make this happen, making it happen, and understanding and respecting your boundaries.

That sounds incredibly frustrating. I’m so sorry the store has been such a pain. As much as I love being able to purchase merch, I would much rather you all put your energy into writing so that we can have new books. (yay new books!)
That being said, I wonder if House Andrews would be open to the possibility of selling a digital copy of some of the merch store designs? With the stipulation that they are only for personal use. That way I could purchase the design and use an iron-on print out to make myself a shirt or tote bag. I missed out on the store last time it was open and would love to have a tote bag with the BDH logo on it.
Moderator R says

I hope everyone feels better and as they say you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do (with the big exaggerated shrug and hands out in surrender.) I’m so sorry to hear about all these issues. I count myself fortunate to have caught the store while it was open, and to have had no issues with the merch I ordered. I will hope, against all hope (because I roll that way) that someday you’ll be able to reopen.

I didn’t order anything when the UK store opened at first, but when I saw that it was open for one more day, I decided to go for it – ordered 4 mugs (including the Ripper Cushions one), which I’ve just been notified will be delivered in the next couple of days 🎉 🎉. Everything went really smoothly, and I’m happy that I managed to sneak in at the end. Now I’m sorry that I did get a Kitty mug as well 🤷♀️
Surf says
Duh!! “Didn’t “ get a Kitty mug 🤦♀️ (stupid autocorrect)
Becky says
If I had to choose between stuff and books I will choose books every time. I worked a retail return desk for a time and it was way to much drama for me. After doing it for 3months over the holiday season I asked to be moved. It really changed my view about people and I did not like it chanced my view.
Dallas says
Shame, I am one of the lucky ones, got my t-shirt. You are authors not shop keepers and the people you rely on obviously didn’t realise the amount of orders this lovely little Mech Store would generate.
Daisy says
Sorry you went through all the stress. I’m one of the happy customers! Shirts are pretty and perfect in every way.
But of course, no one would be interested in the merch if it weren’t for the freaking fabulous, joy inducing books!
More book time is wonderful for the BDH, so it’s a great thing that it’s wonderful for you too.
Boomster says
I confess to binge shopping this last go-round and being one of the people getting a refund. I deeply regret this being such a taxing experience for House Andrews, much more than I care about my own disappointment. But I can’t regret having had the chance to score some awesome merch. Thanks so much for providing the opportunity. I hope someday the stars align to bring back the store in a way that doesn’t place these demands on people who just want to write. In the meanwhile, I am glad to find that shopping door firmly shut so you can get back to doing what you love and need to do.
Briannon says
It sucks that you had such an awful and undeserved mess dumped in your lap. I hope pet and tea therapy are available and help with the emotional toll.
Kimberly says
I just got my order today and I’m so happy and grateful. (I squealed and did a happy dance when opening my gift to myself. ^_^) I rarely comment but I wanted to offer a digital big hug and express my sincere gratitude for all the hard work that was put into this release. You guys care so much for your fans and it’s truly appreciated. We care for you too and hope you take care of yourself. Looking forward to whatever you release next! <3
lbink says
Can’t say I blame you one bit. Sounds like a massive amount of work that could be better spent on other things, not the least of which would be rest and healing from your dance with Covid again! It also sounds like a lot of work for probably not much return.
Hope you get this behind you soon and you can focus on feeling better and plotting your next masterpiece! Best wishes!!
Shellb says
Valiant effort was made and appreciated. Please don’t feel guilty. If you loved working retail, you wouldn’t be House Andrews.
Di says
I am extremely supportive of your decision while being very sad that I held off on ordering stickers/mugs. 🫠😭
Stacey says
my stuff arrived great. I am exited for my baby blue evil enough sweatshirt. my husband chuckled at the feelings mug.
but even if things had been broken I would have contacted you politely like any other business. now the lady who takes 2 days to respond to messages and doesn’t open her door when she says she’ll be there so I can get my plants? her, I’ll pass on buying from again.
Jen says
I am sorry to hear the store will not return, but it makes sense. Now my procrastinating self will just have to figure out how to cross stitch a ripper-cushion cushion.
CourtneyMincy says
The important thing is that I got my 4 shirts today in the mail. 🤣 Really though, I’m so grateful for the opportunity to get merch. Since it’s sorta close to my birthday (October) my mom paid for my order. I was able to replace my BDH member tee that I stained.
I also wanted mugs but was afraid they might get broken in my house with all the cats. Then on makeup Friday I thought,”get the stickers and do your own metal ones!” Just waiting on them to arrive.
Again, thank you so much for the opportunity to get merch from my favorite stories. As many have said, I’d rather have the books.
nedibes says
Thank you for trying. I know the merch meant a lot to many people, and what you managed to achieve was great. I’m so sorry it was such a headache for you and your crew–wishing you quick resolutions to the remaining issues, and lots of relaxing tea, crafts, and fun writing in the near future.
Monica says
I feel that you just wanted to do something nice for the BDH! I’m sorry the process was so difficult. In the end, I love the books you write! Thank you for all you do.
jewelwing says
Your books are more than enough fan service. I hope you can put the store safely in the rear view mirror and not worry about it anymore. You gave it your best shot; the cost-benefit analysis was not in your favor; lesson learned. Give yourselves a hard-earned break if you can before you head to Atlanta. If not, then shortly after.
Devi says
I support your choices!
I do love the merch I got tho (so happy with my mugs!!!), and don’t think you/vendors should be held responsible for the impressive powers of the BDH!
It really sucks how stressful this turned out to be for you, but it’s truly because we love House Andrews – especially the books lol
Please accept the destructive forces of love from the BDH, and take care of yourselves!
Harriet says
I’m truly grateful for as long as it lasted. Enjoy your time writing, get well soon. The less you have the stress, the better you can rest and the faster you can recover. ::hugs::
Skippy says
I’m sorry that this turned into such a pain for you. I had a lot of fun even looking at the merch. On another positive note, the items I’ve received are superb and warm the cockles of this old coot’s heart every time I see them or think about them (even if my spouse and kids think I’ve got a few screws loose).
Carolyn says
As much as I love the merch, I love your books even more! Thank you for giving the merch store a try!
Tylikcat says
I saw a link to think on my feed, and… okay, my first reaction to it was “Oh, wait, there was a muscle tee after all?” (I am not feeling deprived – I got a Dr. Loose Cannon t-shirt and removed the sleeves. Which leaves somewhat oversized armholes, but I mostly wear sport top style bras, so I don’t really care. I suppose if I teach in it I might strive to be a little more modest.)
This sounds like an utter nightmare, and I’m glad for you you’re backing away.
Meanwhile, my mug is waiting to move into my new office as soon as I get word it’s ready for me. (Hee hee hee, a stack of books, of course. A spinning wheel. A couple of favorite mugs – oh, and I’ll need to get an electric kettle. A loveseat or futon. Some stretching tools, a staff… I’ll probably need a separate room for the robotics stuff, but I’m not teaching robotics until Spring.)
Jimh says
I am happy to say that our merchandise came in yesterday, and we are quite happy. So sorry for the difficulties! I hope it works out eventually!
Leslie D says
I’m so sorry it was stressful for you, and so grateful for all your efforts! The merch was really cute and I love my stuff, but understand completely that it shouldn’t have been so difficult and time consuming. I appreciate you.
Gillian says
Understand what it’s like to apologise non-stop for something not your fault, especially when it’s done in the public eye. Take care of yourselves first and I appreciate the ripper cushion I got last round very much.
sarafina says
Sorry this hasn’t worked out, but I’m so pleased with the items I picked up in the past. Thank you. Hope you have BIG FUN in Atlanta!
Chinook1981 says
Purchased 5 items….extremely happy with them. The sweatshirt will be worn on special occasions.
Plan on having it for years to come. Thank you for the opportunity to purchase the limited edition merch. Met a BDH member at Costco. She recognized the BDH Tshirt I was wearing…we took a second to look around to confirm no monsters at Costco…all was good…no monsters. Please take care of yourself. Do what you what you do best…and have fun with it.
Raye says
Glad there were no monsters, lol, and you didn’t need Dina’s help!
jewelwing says
This. Is. Awesome.
Patricia Schlorke says
😂😂😂 Glad Costco was cleared of all monsters for both of you.
🎶It’s a small world after all. It’s a small world after all. It’s a small world after all. It’s a small, small world.🎶
AP says
Thank you so so much for opening the merch stores in the first place.
The BDH asked and you responded with such cool stuff, given you were doing all the work to make it happen while giving us Sanctuary and working on Maggie.
You both are amazing people and writers – focus on your passion and forget the store! We want big books and we cannot lie! ❤️
Kim says
I’m so sorry it all went wrong.please know that I love all the merch I bought, and I’m sad I won’t be able to get more.
Waaay more happy to read your books, though.
Laura says
I hope the rest of the work sorting this out goes smoothly for you! 🤞🏼
Gwen says
I am so sorry that you feel guilt or any other dark emotion over this. You tried to appease your Horde with all your heart and might. Like Seramina (One Fell Sweep), your words and warnings about The Horde were heard by the vendors around you but not heeded – the sheer size and insatiability of their want is more than they have encountered or could understand. Your love for the Horde is incomprehensible even when we are howling for MORE, thank you for your heart.
Ariel says
Well we the bdh broke the store. It was bound to happen and is on us House Andrews as we were desperate for all the shinies. But without all your beautiful and snarky and clever words there are no shinies. So rest and recharge and do what you do best. We will enjoy our treasure as a special treat so unexpected from 2 of the best writers out there! Happy knitting with delicious tea and prayers for speedy recovery!!
Kathy says
How about creating a downloadable art piece….we print it on iron-on paper…and we make our own shirts? Please don’t add the stress of retail to your life.
Pam says
My oversized Barsa mug arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I smile every time I look at it. Barsa? Barsa!
Tapati says
I fully understand and am thankful that we had a chance to enjoy it and the memories these items inspire.
Joanne says
I’m so sorry that this is causing you unnecessary stress! I had ordered a Vneck bc I love my Magic Clams coffee cup & wanted to support House Andrews, just like sports fans do with their teams. 🙂 I completely understand about stock issues and vendor management & I’m not even upset that I won’t be getting the shirt. Why you ask? I got an email from House Andrews!!!! They contacted me! They know my name! Squee! 🙂 (I know it’s a copy/pasta message but I’ve starred and saved the email in my files. It’s totally better than a Tshirt!) All kidding aside, I’d much rather you write books and share your fun stories with us than spend your time playing shop owners. Don’t feel bad, we are grateful for all that you do for us rabid fans. Thank you House Andrews!
MaryB says
I appreciate you trying and I treasure the goodies I got. Thank you!
Sabrina says
I am so, so sorry that this has been such a headache. I can fully understand your decision. I hope all these issues will clear up and that that will at least stop being such a drain on your energy and resources. For what it’s worth, I really appreciated the awesome designs, but I completely understand that it simply isn’t feasible to keep it up.
Frances says
Ilona, I think you are sensible to give up on the merch store because it sounds like too much trouble. I know you did it primarily because the BDH was clamouring for merchandise but this member of the BDH does not want the fan service you provide us to become a burden. You like writing not managing a store with all the attendant hassle so my I’m glad you have decided to concentrate on what you enjoy.
Personally I love the snippets and Dina and Sean interviews with characters from other universes eg Roman, Arabella, etc and consider these great fan service. I enjoy the humour, compliments to Orro’s cooking, insight into the character and background. It’s like visiting with old friends to hear news of beloved characters from Hidden Legacy, The Edge, Kate Daniels Universe, etc. I, for one, would be very appreciative if you considered occasionally doing a short fun “ interview” with characters like Meli, Claire, Ramona ( Kinsmen Universe) , Rose, Cerise, Audrey and Charlotte ( The Edge) etc . They deserve to sample Orro’s cooking and we would love to catch up on their news.
Allison says
This!
Meghan Smith says
I’m sorry the venture was way more hassle than you anticipated. Have you considered licensing graphics so we could print them at home? I’m thinking something like Etsy (though you might be able to host from another website). Pay a small fee for a downloadable file that can be printed on one of several devices or mediums. Don’t know how crafty the BDH is
Sleepy says
It sucks, but it happens. Sometimes we just don’t have the bandwidth to do it all, and that’s okay. If it’s such a stress, better to just remove.
Susan J says
This just makes sense. No need to apologize. You tried and factors beyond control made it not work out. I’m sure 100% of the BDH would prefer you to spend your time writing rather than dealing with merch. Hope you are feeling better.
Nermie00 says
I’m so very sorry that the store didn’t work out, but you’re definitely right to end it. I am happy, however, that I got my BDH stickers earlier, as I love them. Write on in peace!
Ronda says
I think I can safely speak for the BDH when I say we love you and support your decision. Your mental health is of the utmost importance. Anyway, we would rather have your exceptional writing than merchandise. We are grateful for the items we were able to get!
Kris says
Well, on the bright side, my order in Germany went through perfectly! I am very happy with my BDH mug an t shirts. Considering all the infrastructure problems we are having at the moment, I feel this is a little miracle.
I am running an e commerce shop in Germany and I am in awe that you took on such a complex undertaking as running an international shop for the BDH. Epic! Very sorry it was such a horrible experience for you though, much sympathy to you guys!
Marianne H says
I am so sorry that the store turned into such a problem!! I know that I only speak for myself, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the rest of the BDH would agree with me!
The stuff in the store is great!! I love the stuff!! But, I love reading your books more than I love the stuff. If you love writing the books more than handling everything that goes with selling the stuff, then I as a founding member of the BDH, sincerely hope you go back to only writing the books, and don’t even think about the stuff!! I truly do drool over all the lovely stuff I have been able to get through the store, but never want anything to take such a negative toll on you. I am sorry to see the end of the store, but very glad that it will not be a problem for House IA anymore!!!
Momz says
Dearest IA; please do not take any guilt upon yourself. Just keep thinking they LOVE US, really, really love us. It is because of our love for your unbelievable, fantastical and astounding writing gifts and skills; we (the BHD) love you beyond measure. Having a little something from the store gives us something to cuddle and cling to while waiting for our next book fix. In the end, we are all adults and understand that sometimes things don’t turn out well or in our favor. WE so appreciate your effort, kindness and willingness to even open up the store. YOUR GREATEST FAVOR TO US……books, stories, adventures and a way to ease the daily struggle of life.
Emmy van der Heijden says
Good decision, what does not work should not continue. I was just thinking that it would be great if sometime in the future it would be possible to could get the right to use one image as used in the store for printing someting. That way I can order something for myself or even print an Iron-on or something to make my own print. T-Shirts I can buy myself. Or a mug, there are plenty of good suppliers of picture products, which deliver individual items.
I understand you are done now, but perhaps something for a temporary action in the future? I still love the idea of having something to show my fandom.
Jessica says
I’m so sorry for all the frustration and heartache you’re dealing with over this, along with getting over illness too! Thank you all for the update and all of the work.
Petra Grimus-Barth says
Oh dear,I can understand your decission to close the shop because of all the hussel. Nevertheless there are some tears, because I´will miss the excitment.
And now I have to treat all the mugs extra carefully because they can not be replaced….uuups…
Now I´m waiting for the next book, ofcause;)
All the Best to you!
Cheryl Garner says
I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Keep your head up.
Angela Knight says
I’m so sorry this turned into such a huge problem! Hugs! It sounds stressful as hell. I don’t blame you for discontinuing the store, but I appreciate your determination that everyone who didn’t get what they ordered gets their money back. Some folks would have thrown up their hands, but you’re making it right. That means a lot.
TamB. says
Completely understand. I would rather your time and energy be devoted to books.
I will treasure my mugs (yes plural), all the more.
Thank you.
L says
So sorry it failed through no fault of yours. It was a good idea that just did not work. Please don’t be put off trying out new ideas.
Barbara Wright says
Every merchant runs out of stock. It is a fact of modern life and internet shopping. No need to apologise. We know you have a fantastic fan base who might overwhem stuff.
Get writing!
Adriea says
I’m so sorry for all the trouble you’ve experienced! Completely understand your decision. Thank you for trying!
Lynsey says
Sorry to hear this and the trouble and upset it has caused both you and customers. I ordered from the EU Store and had a very positive experience and it came yesterday – I’m delighted with my order! However, I totally understand that it varies depending on stock and vendors, especially given the volume and demand from the BDH (of which I am a proud member and now have the t-shirt, mug and sweatshirt to prove it 😉 ). Definitely the right call for you to concentrate on lowering your stress levels, minding your health and writing your wonderful books 💖
A terrestrial being says
Wholeheartedly support your decisions, its your life, you know what is best for YOU (or learn the hard way what is really the best), so please, focus on yourself, the merch is fun to have for us, but I think not only for me you count (all of you working so hard for your stories ans the release and…) / matter a 1000 times more.
Try maybe to find some help for the refunds, so you might find time for some tea, rest,… and the joy to actually write, talk to your family, find strength again?
Olga says
Ilona and Andrew, thank you for all you do. The idea of the merch store is fabulous but as you said you are writers and that’s why we love you guys so much. I’m so vey glad I discovered you and have passed you on to countless friends for your books and worlds where we can get lost. The merch store was a grand experiment that didn’t work. Thanks for trying. Love you both, please keep writing. Hope Covid is over with little to no lingering effects.
Sandhya Rao says
*hugs* It’s ok. Good decision in the end, for your peace of mind and for us the BDH too
Stephanie says
I’m impressed / awed by the effort you put into the BDH. You’re so kind and thoughtful to take on this extra work. Thank you. Hope you’re feeling better. Happy writing
KaReN says
I’m sad that the merch store is now permanently closed. However, I do truly understand why. I’m just so very glad I was able to buy 2 Innkeepers coffee mugs and Here Kitty tshirt on the first store. On this last store, I ordered another Here Kitty tshirt and Caldenia’s coffee mug. OMG! When I opened the Caldenia mug pkg, I kept saying it’s so beautiful. It’s too beautiful to use! I appreciate your efforts to give us something from your books. I had always regretted not buying the Curran plushie long, long time ago. I told myself that whenever you opened a store, I would buy Something. And I did. Thank you so much!
Sue says
Ugh. Retail sucks. It always sucks. Supply issues suck. Logistics suck big hairy donkey balls.
Thank you for opening the store and working through it as much as you could. But I’m so much more vested in reading your words than wearing a t-shirt. And I’m pretty sure the rest of the Horde agrees. I mean, that’s what the name means right ?
Amy says
I received both items I purchased and am very happy with them. Your decision is understandable and I am all about you being able to focus on writing. I just wanted to throw a positive feedback out there. 😊
Liz says
Thank you so much for doing the store, I have items that will always make me smile. It mattered to me that you did it and I understand why you are stopping.
Cynthia says
I am so sorry it didn’t work out Ilona. It was a great idea.
CTL says
Since the merch store was meant to be a treat but became a “poisoned cookie”, we completely understand. Since most of us were in love with the images, would it be possible to get them as wallpapers or screensavers? (I understand copyrights and stuff might prohibit some).
Do you wish to discuss?
Kelly M. says
“Do you wish to discuss?” HAHAHAHA!!!!! (This made me laugh out loud at my desk; well played.)
Lisa Lenox says
I’m so sorry you had such a negative experience with your storefront. But we need your books more than we need trinkets. Thank you for trying.
MaryJaneZigZag says
I’m sorry the merch has caused so much stress for you 🙁
Am I a little bummed I don’t have a tee with Roman’s little menagerie on it?
Sure.
Do I want that to cause you one OUNCE of heartache? HELL NO.
I want you to happily do the thing you love – create the stories that brought us all here!
Sending you all lots of good thoughts powered by a reader’s gratitude 🙂
Dawn says
Do what you enjoy. You enjoy writing books and are good at it. And because of this you are successful. If you don’t enjoy being a shop keeper and it is not a strength you have or want to take the time to develop. So I think you are making the right choice to stop. I applaud you. I am trying to teach this to my son who seems to think it is “quitting” to stop doing something he doesn’t enjoy and shift his career to something he would enjoy
Patricia Schlorke says
I use to think that too. I also put pressure on myself when I was a teen since I saw what my older siblings did, and I thought I should do it too. My parents told me that it didn’t matter what I did so long I was happy doing it.
It’s not quitting. It’s just learning what you like and don’t like. It’s okay to change your mind. 😊
Kelly M. says
I’m so sorry this has been such a headache. Hugs to you from this tiny outcropping of the Horde.
Michelle says
I’m so sorry with all you have been through with COVID that the Store was a pain for you! I love my mousepad I purchased. Would have ordered one of everything if I could have. Although I am very happy you will be back to writting.
Hope you are feeling better, take care of yourself.
chris says
Thank you for trying this. I didn’t get anything this round but did previously and treasure it. But please save ALL your energy for writing!! 🙂
Chandra says
Considering all the work that you do, I feel lucky that I was able to get something out of the mythical pop up store.
Thank you

lori says
You have nothing to apologize for! With good will and evidence that merch stores work fine, you tried. Your experience was different-OK. Your best use of time is clearly writing. Your hoard is happy with that.
Elisabeth says
Don’t feel guilty. Merch may be nice, but I would much rather have your books.
Diane says
Boy, this brings up stressful mentors of my first “grown-up” job.
Best wishes to you and I hope that is all trained and done soon.
Cynthia E says
It sounds like you need a virtual hug. Huggggs. It also sounds like you made a great decision! While BDH loves the store (a little too much), no one wants our favorite authors too tired to write. Thanks for the opportunity to get some cool merchandise.
Katie m says
Completely understand. Preserve your sanity, time and peace.
Liv says
I really enjoy the items I have, the cups and t shirts. Thank you. I am sorry it was so hard and stressful for you. There is no reason you should do it again, but I am happy to have the items I have. Please do some nice things for yourselves and be happy.
Marilyn H says
You go well out of your way for your fans and I hope that the rest of the BDH feel the same way I do, which is very appreciative. I squealed like a kid that I haven’t been in a LONG time when I opened the little flat pack my sticker was in and today I’ll open my 2 packages that contain the shirts I ordered. I’m now kicking myself that I didn’t get additional stickers (I LOVE stickers), but hey, that’s my decision.
You cannot control what your vendors do. I’m in Facilities Management where I work, and all the time I have to deal with vendors that go out of stock on things we need to keep the facility running (including this morning’s 20 minute long convo about that very thing) or the vendor’s vendors can’t get parts. Just know we appreciate what you did for us & that you tried so hard for your many, many fans, and that we will treasure our goodies until we wear them out.
HUG HUG HUG
Penni Ferguson says
So sorry that this has not worked out and has caused you so much stress…..on the bright side – your work is so popular and gazillions of people love it and want to celebrate it with the merchandise.
Diane McCormack says
I think the short term nature of the store guaranteed a tsunami-like response. And, I am sure your vendors hear from all of their clients that orders will be huge. They are probably used to adjusting inventory to the actual number of orders clients usually receive. But, to be fair, one cannot be adequately prepared for a response from the BDH.
Linda says
Do not guilt trip! Writing is the best thing you can do for the BDH and we need that more than merch. Maybe someday in the future you can license art out to an enterprising BDH group to handle merch, but writing is, and should be, your first concern. We love you for your imagitive brains!!
Joy says
So sorry, Ilona, Gordon, ModR for all the stress associated with the store.
Just joined the Horde April of this year (just finished Kinsmen Universe – the last book / anthology entry / free fiction on the list) and used my single store experience to get a tote bag for each of your series that had merch (the totes are FABULOUS and the shipping, etc. went without a hitch) – SO glad I did that – they are going up in my book room on hooks for display until selected to traipse to the library with me on adventures.
Please do NOT blame yourself for this (the fact that you ARE taking responsibility so publicly just means that you are a totally awesome set of folks)
I am fully in the fluffy Horde category and will w**t for the next adventure you share with us.
Wishing all of the Horde and those you love peace, health and safety!
Celine says
I really hate that you feel guilty! I’d rather HA spend their time on writing. Ultimately you ARE a writer and not a merchant. It was very nice for y’all to try it, but do what makes you happy!
Ann C says
I am so sorry you’re having to deal with all these store issues. It’s not worth your sanity and health. We’d much rather have you writing! ❤️
Nancy says
I’m sorry to hear about the death of the store, but I can’t blame you for stopping the nightmare. Such a hassle for you and paperwork is the worst. It’s also not really your fault venders couldn’t meet the demand. Dealing with it after the horrible bout of Covid just makes it even harder. Take care of yourself first and foremost, I’ll certainly never complain about you writing instead of having to do nasty paperwork.
Brightfae says
I’m so sorry this hasn’t worked. But I completely get it! I would much rather you were writing.
Just as a data point, my coffee mugs, mouse pad, and stickers all arrived earlier than expected and beautiful. I will cherish them as I do my previous HA merch.
But, PLEASE, do what feeds your soul!!
Nancy H says
I agree with everything everybody has already said. Saying that I will not put my Evil Enough mug in the dishwasher or microwave and the cat cannot sleep on the Ripper Cushion. Since they are irreplaceable they will receive extra care.
Stephanie says
Good, as a customer for your books I want you to be unstressed and happy. Online retail store is NOT it.
As a fellow human I want you to thrive doing your passion. Online retail store is NOT it.
You guys are terrific, I’m out here just patiently waiting, re-reading previous books. No worries.
Kat in NJ says
I’m so sorry the store was causing you such turmoil, and totally support your decision to close it.
However, please know that as much as I love my HA shirts (they bring a smile to my face every time I wear them!) and as much as my HA mugs always make tea taste better, I love your books so, so much more.
Your books have been such lifesavers during times of stress, and they bring me more joy and laughter than any tee shirts or mugs ever could! I will miss the store, but it is nothing compared to your books, which I will keep enjoying on every first read and again on countless re-reads. Thank you!!! 🥰💕💕💕
PS: Hope you are feeling better!

I third, fifth? the comment about making the image files available. I am so sad that I won’t have the critters tshirt. I volunteer with a local raptor program and I reallyreallyreally wanted to wear it for the Halloween open house because they look like Halloween owls! ‘sigh’ I will still get the stickers tho so there’s a little balm for my soul 🙂
Cindy Montalbano says
I hope that you have recovered or are recovering sufficiently from covid. I haven’t seen any posts regarding that lately. I’m also sorry that you had such a problem with your store. Although I was not one of the buyers, I can certainly understand your pain as I have worked in customer service, manufacturing and retail. It sucks! I am not surprised that you’ve thrown in the towel regarding your store. I was actually surprised that you guys started it to begin with. I did not think that you were the person that was running the store as that is a full-time job for a completely different and separate person from yourself. Anyway I hope that you can get back to writing and doing what you enjoy the most. Thank you for at least trying with the store.
Jwharmby says
I’m sad the store will no longer be an option, but I completely understand that writing is and should be your first priority. Customer service is a difficult job and when you’re trying to do all the different jobs that come with a store on your own and with the help of family on what is essentially a side project, I can get not having the bandwidth to deal with it when there’s so many issues. I will hope that maybe once the trauma isn’t so recent, it may become an option again (I mean we are the bdh, I don’t know that we’re capable of not hoping for more), but with no expectations.
Kirsi says
The BDH ROARS!! Hear the noise of thousands kneeling before you in abject apology for breaking the store, and causing you anguish. Hear the voices of multitude across the vast fields of this planet chant “We love you, HA! We love you,HA! We love you, HA!”
Raye says
So very sorry that something meant to bring the BDH joy and celebrate your work has ended up as a burden on the authors we wish to celebrate. For my small corner of the Horde, I hope you get all the support you need to just write and not run a retail shop. Big virtual hugs!
Nicole says
I am sorry that you guys had so much trouble with the store. I truly appreciate all of the hard work that you have done to provide the BDH with extra special treats. So thank you, and I will be extra thankful that I did get merchandise with no problems!

What’s your position on fan merch? If we make House Andrews appreciation shirts, is that cool, or is that bumping against your IP?

Making items for your own use is not a problem 🙂. It’s when you intend to sell to others and make a profit from the intellectual property or copyrighted designs that we go into issues.
jewelwing says
Thank you for this clarification. I may want to get something made for myself at some point. That would be when life settles down enough for me to think more about it. HAHAHAHAHAHAH! Right.
Sivi says
Thank you all for running the store twice and coming up with brilliant designs.
I had brilliant experiences both times ordering and when ever I had a question, the lovely person in the other end of the storeadmin@ilona-andrews.com address had been brilliant, supper helpful and responsive.
Really sorry that is causing you all so much stress, and can completely understand the decision made.
My observation of it isn’t that it’s not that you’re all not cut out for it, it’s that you hold yourself to high standards including taking care of your fans (unlike some places).
So that where things have gone in unexpected directions you’ve all bent over backwards to help us.
As all of the comments I’ve skimmed have said, we love you all for the gift of stories that you tell us, anything else is just a bonus.
Thank you.

The BDH is all about the books !!!
We appreciate all you do … 💕 !
Hope you all feel better and get back to the writing of the worlds we enjoy and the ones we are hoping to enjoy in the future !
Di says
I am so sorry you are burdened with the store issues! I was hoping your extra help took that over.
I rec’d my orders and I am very happy with the quality!
You did your best but your decision is understandable. I hope you are recovering and feeling better!

I support you 100%

Don’t worry too much about this. If the worst thing that happens to us this week is that we don’t get a shirt, that is a good week. You tried to do a kindness and most of us appreciate that. You are both excellent writers and that is the big thing. (Also, coming off of Covid and trying to do all this, YUCK!!) Take care of you.
laura says
i am sorry the store has been so stressful. i hope you are able to quickly wrap up this additional round of endless refunds.
i would much rather have books than merchandise.
Robyn says
Totally get why you are done with the store. Thanks for trying it. I love all my items!
We are the BDH and we are all about the books!
Hope you are recovering from the Covid.
Thanks for your great writing!
Terrie C says
Sorry it was so stressful, considering you were just doing if for our benefit. I was able to get some of my things and am smiling at my mouse pad right now. But for us, I think your writing is the most important thing, which is what made us crave the merchandise in the first place. We hope you know that the desire for the merch is a tribute to the way we immerse ourselves in the worlds you create.
Thank you for trying it out.
Peg says
Well, my two mugs were arrived in great shape and excellently wrapped. The print was clear, too. Now I’m very, very glad I ordered the Book Devouring Hoard mug since it won’t be available again.
I’ve worked retailing. I understand your pain and I get it.
Neray says
I don’t normally comment and just love reading the emails from the blog, however, had to say how much I appreciate your efforts with the merch. Loved buying from the merch store both times and have loved the items since they come with the best quotes from your books.
Glad you made the decision to stop the store so you can do what you are great and prefer to do, which is writing awesome books. *Really want Arabelle’s story haha*
However, would still love to get my hands on the special edition books (for those of us outside the US), if those keep being an option.
I hope the outpouring of support shows more BDH were happier than frustrated with your merch efforts!
Alice says
You have to do what you can to remain sane and happy. Take care

I am sorry this became such a problem for you all. I am thankful I purchased when I did, Love my Barsa shirt, I giggle every time I catch sight of it!! hehe. I look forward to each story you put out, your work is greatly appreciated, Thank you.
Delphie says
Retail can be awful, I’m sorry that’s been your experience. I love the mugs I ordered and thank you very much for them. Wishing you all the best in wrapping this up and forgetting about it!
Frances Kirkman says
I am so sorry you’ve had all this hassle…and so glad that I got a book horde teeshirt from the last shop. I really love it!
Zaena says
I’m so sorry you and House Andrews had to go through this! Most-if not all- of the BDH understands, and though a bit disappointed that the store is closing for good, we can’t have our fabulous Delectible Duo fretting over something that was *way* beyond your control. And that’s a fact! We want all y’all to be happy and healthy, in a relaxed state, and sound of mind. Because that’s how we, the BDH, roll.
Jessi says
Some things just end up being more trouble than they’re worth. That being said, I’m happy I was able to get my Ripper Cushions mug before you closed the store. It is officially my new favorite mug to start my day off with, followed by my Mommy Fuel mug. Sorry the store didn’t work out for you
Kerri says
I’m so sorry this has been so stressful for you. It all sucks when it’s outside of your control. In happy news my UK mugs and shirt arrived today. My housemate who hasn’t read your books has asked to borrow the Ferret Heist book and is sad that the BDH mug is no longer available as “it is epic and would make wonderful presents”. She may yet become a member of the BDH.
Patricia Schlorke says
Tell your housemate that the Horde welcomes her if she decides to be part of the group. 😁😎
RabidReader says
That sounds like a full-blown nightmare and no one can blame you for your decision to step away. We love your writing, your characters and your imagination- we love our favorite authors.
You tried to do it for the BDH, and we appreciate the effort. But frankly anything that takes you away from ‘author-ing’ is only hurting us and our insatiable need to see your worlds. (it’s supposed to be a joke statement, but it’s more true than funny)
Finally, you guys just don’t need that kind of stress. Leave the merchanting to Nuan Cee, he loves that insanity!
Catherine says
Please take care of yourself and your mental health. We love the stories you tell.
boogenhagen says
Thank you so much for doing it! It was very appreciated. I am vastly in awe you even tried it.
Iftcan says
No matter what, we love you Ilona and Gordon. And while I love my BDH tee shirt and coffee mugs (had to explain the sayings on them to hubby), but given a choice, I’m all for more Hugh, Kate, Dina et. al. rather than you driving yourself crazy trying to run a storefront AND write. Although, the occassional picture of cute pets are also looked forward to.
Lisa says
Just do what you enjoy, and keep writing for us. That’s the only way to truly satisfy the Horde.
Ferretsecratary says
I wholely understand why you gave it up. It makes me sad that I missed the cutoff date for the ferret secretary mug. But I love your writing more than I love my BDH cup. 🙂
Cheryl B. says
Ilona if you want to give items to the BDH in the future maybe just do a small amount and do a contest for them. For example 10 or 15 shirts or cups or posters that you order so you’ve already got them and then do a contest of some kind for people to win them. I don’t know if that would be cost-effective but it would definitely take all the stress out of stuff not being available or you having to ship things other than just that small quantity. I just suggest it cuz I know a lot of the designs are really cute and you guys put a lot of artistic effort into them. I would like you guys to have an outlet for that as opposed to just never being able to offer it in the future. No matter what take care of yourself. Thank you for all the effort. Even if it didn’t turn out to be what you wanted it to be in the end, it is appreciated.
Ha Nguyen says
I am so sorry you feel that way. I was one of the ones who didn’t get the Muscle T, but I am getting the T-shirt that I really wanted so the loss of the Muscle T was not a problem. So, please, please do not feel bad.
I really liked your Merch store and am so glad I was able to participate and got some really cool stuff. However, since this was really stressing you out, I do understand why you’re shutting it down.
Verslint says
good luck, we of the Horde support you all the way!
Jenny G says
I’m sorry that the merchandise store has been such a headache for you. Thank you for writing such epic stories that fans want to have a tangible piece of. I appreciate each time the store has been opened even if my wallet doesn’t!
Celeste says
I feel very lucky that I got my Rippercushion. Thank you! Makes total sense you wouldn’t want to deal with a merch shop.
Variel says
I very much appreciate the work and effort you guys went through to bring us merch. I am sorry it was such a miserable experience for you. I am very grateful you managed to make mugs available in my region and that they both arrived safe and sound. Truly, thank you. Reading Ronan’s book with a BDH mug makes it feel extra special.
Angela says
thank you for making the effort and for letting us bother you into trying it twice. that Sucks about all the vendors errors.
Cheryl says
Im sorry it’s been so frustrating.
Aerinen says
I am so sorry this has become such a headache! Please realize 99% of fans want the best for you and don’t hold it against you at all! (I’m sure someone has been awful but that’s humanity…) I love your stories so much, being able to buy a tshirt was a privilege but not nearly as important as your well being!
Jen H says
While I will miss the opportunities to get all the fun things, I want you both happy and the store doesn’t make you happy. It causes unnecessary stress and takes time away from what you want to be doing.
Thank you for trying to make it a good experience for us and thank you for giving us worlds and characters that can make sure fun merch.
Judith Brosnan says
Sweet pea!!!! Stick to what you know & are comfortable with——-writing books🙏🏻
How is the covid recovery coming along? DEFINATELY didn’t need the hassle of the merch returns.
Hope you’re feeling better🥰
Elizabeth says
Thank you for trying to do this for us. My merch arrived in good time and in good condition. I appreciate the opportunity.
Hanna says
So sorry you’ve suffered so much for the store!! There’s a gif from the bridgerton queen Charlotte series that says sorrows, prayers and that’s what I wish I could include here!
B. Atkins says
Ya know… Bookstores can stock merchandise like T’s and mugs, etc… just saying **hugs** LOVE your books!
Dawn says
I am sad about the store but totally understand.
Tiger Lily says
Will be using my mug at work. I can’t wait for people to either ask, “A what heist?” Or for someone to say, “I didn’t know you were part of the BDH!”
Gloria says
You poor things. So sorry that the merch thing was so tedious. I thought it was going to be fun for all. I will not mention wanting merch again. Can’t wait to read some stuff from you guys. Feel better.
Cathy says
Many hugs. My order arrived today, in full, on time and exactly what I’d ordered, so thumbs up for the Aus store and thank you very much for the effort you put into it.
Kristen says
I’m a little bummed because I was hoping I’d have money the next time merch was sold, but I completely understand not wanting to deal with the hassle.
Kathryn says
As much as I’ve loved having the fun merch — totally agree with your priority call. It was an amazing service to your Hoard and MUCH APPRECIATED. It’s funny these days — we all have to have MERCH. We go to a show, we check out the t-shirts. I go on vacation, I get a Christmas ornament, the cheesier the better. Your Hoard are actually a bunch of MUCKRATS!!!! SHINY!!
Paula K. Ollie says
I understand completely. Behind you one hundred percent. Now you can concentrate on what you do best and what brings you more fulfillment. You bring us fans much more than you know.
Dealing with the public is sometimes uncomfortable for me too. I wonder why I do it. As an artist I most of the time paint what sells at shows and craft sales but get a few commission that are stressful.
Becky says
Sad that there will be no more merch, but I will just treasure all that I have gotten that much more. Should have ordered two of each shirt so if I wear one out I have a back up. 🤣(I really do that though.)
Ela says
Thank you so much for trying this out and doing your best for your fanbase!
Your wellbeing is most important though, it is a good choice to let this go.
Sarah says
Please stop feeling guilty.
We appreciate merch.
We love merch.
We love you.
We care about your emotional health.
You are having a kate in atlanta moment where everything is on fire and it will be ok.
Offering hugs if needed for emotional support.
You do so much good – this smol blip will not stop the BDH from adoring you.
Our love is not fragile.
Our obsession is all encompassing – including the bad days.
Stacy says
I have a request regarding the store. Would you be open to selling the image files on Etsy? Some of the simple ones that have very few colors? I’d love to buy it and make my own shirt for personal use.
Regina says
Your stories bring me so much joy. Dina keeps me company, I want to have tea with her, I want to hang out with Kate, I want to work with Nevada, be best friends with Arabella and watch Catalina put people in their place. I love returning to my friends over and over. And you their creators deserve to have joy, heal from Covid, and have time with your new worlds. Thank you for the merch store, but thank you for you more.
Roe says
Totally understand and at the same time so glad I did not procastinate like last time and I actually ordered!!!!! yaaaa me…I have limited edition book devouring horde merch. ..yes I’m in Canada..yes I ordered from the US site…yes I paid way to much for items…100% glad I did ..
Ms. Kim says
I am so sorry that your attempt to venture off the path had gale force winds beating at you.
Becky Pullum says
Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity, though. I love my sweatshirt.
An says
Thank you so much for the store, I am very happy with the goodies I ordered, I received them promptly and undamaged.
I would rather you devote your selves to things that bring you joy vs dread/angst.
Your writing brings me joy, I am a happy member of the BDH.
Hope you are getting better from Covid.
Air Hugs to both of you.
Dana Day says
OK. I’m late to the party. I ordered many items from the store. They all came through.
I commend everyone.
I completely understand that things happen.
It does not change or diminish my admiration for your work.
Yaiza says
Hi! I just bought Roman book, got so exited I wanted to check the merch for Sanctuary. Couldnt find the li k, or stores or anything and thought “what happended!?”. Then I started looking through the Blog and read this entry 🤦♀️ So sorry, I would have loved to buy a jumper or a t-shirt with Sanctuary’s book cover 🖤🙏
