Hey guys, Brandi Bolden here. I have a super exciting question to ask y’all. As you may have guessed from the title, that question is about Ilona Andrews merch. Yes, I know, I’m happy dancing too.

But before I can make your dreams of Ilona Andrews merch come true, I’m gonna need some help from y’all. This is where the question comes,

What exactly do you want to see become available as merch? I need you all to write to my personal email and tell me! Tell me which quotes you want and what kind of items you would like ( ex. hoodie, tee shirt, tote bags.)You can also write it in the comment section.   4. Artwork that shows the inn keeper inn but with characters from all the different series inside and out.

    You know the small, character stuffed type dolls that animes and games like Final Fantasy produce? Those for the main characters from the different series would be awesome. Even if they were mini ones. I keep picturing them on my desk or in my car and it makes me smile.

    A tank with hidden legacy circle work with flames that would represent Catalina on the front and Catalina’s ‘wings’ on the back.

    A tank with a quote from Kate Daniels. I’m at work and can’t remember the absolute full quote but it goes something along the lines of, “I can tie my shoes and carry my sword all on my own.” or something to that affect. Sorry, little to no sleep last night so on mental fumes

    An inn keeper cloak. An inn keeper broom.

  9. I would love large coffee mugs. Could make one as an souvenir from the innkeeper, “Top Ten Inn in the Universe” see reviews in the Innkeeper Directory. One could advertise Cutting Edge. One could advertise Baylor Investigative Agency.

  11. A letter opener would be cool, a sword for Kate and a broom for Dina and maybe a gun for Nevada.

    Speaking of Nevada… a replica of her diamond necklace (but please don’t charge $20+ million dollars of it ?). And maybe her wedding ring.

    Oh and if you put it in a blind bag I’ll buy it. No joke… like squishys! I love them!!! Ones of the shifters in Kate Daniels and the Bear, the kitty and the weird cat thingy from the Hidden Legacy series and Beast and the Chef from the Innkeeper Chronicles.

    • +1 Love the letter opener idea. Orro and Zeus (weird cat thing from HL) plushies would be so adorable.

    • I like shiny baubles, too, so I am all on board with a Tear of the Aegean replica and maybe the wedding band Hugh gets for Elara (I really like the description of it). Should be affordable, but at the same time not too tacky looking, so maybe silver with semi-precious gemstones (topaz, tourmaline, zirkon, apatite or something like that)…

  14. Plushies wearing quote tees, like Curran referenced in above picture, but for other characters(i.e. Dali, Jim, Mahon, George, Doolittle). Or if that is too pricy mini-tees for people to dress their own plushies.

  15. Rogan’s army id tag. Stationery with House Baylor, House Rogan and Gertrude Hunt Inn logo/House symbol. Wax seals would be awesome too. Official versions of Rogan’s and Nevada’s wedding invitations.

      • +1 I’d like some stationary. House Baylor, House Rogan with some magic circle or some cutting edge stationary. Let’s face it, every time I need paper or jot down a note… It’s gone. I’m not opposed to bright br Colour so I can find my favorite paper.

  19. 1. Kate Daniels stationary with Julie’s quote from the wedding cards slogan she suggested “Gore, Swords and Severed Heads!” I believe that is the wording Julie used in Book 8, when Kate hated the wedding invitations that Roman created.

    2. Ilona and Gordon Keyrings figures of those awesome anime figures they use on the blog. I especially like the Ilona with horns.

    Bookmarks with quotes, “Put your badass faces on and follow me” or “My own personal psycho.” A bookmark that resembles an innkeeper’s broom?

    I, personally, would adore a shirt that says “We are besieged by murderous poultry,” but I am uncertain that would have traction.

  26. Anything printed with some cool circle work. Shirts, books, bags etc that are made to look like actual company stuff for Gertrude Hunt, Cutting Edge or Baylor Investigations. Its so much fun to wear fan stuff that regular people would overlook. Only another fan would get it.

  28. My favorite merch has always been t-shirts that only other fans will get. I have a raglan tee of Mercy’s Garage, a v-neck with the molnija marks etc…I like the idea of Cutting Edge, Baylor Investigations, Order of the Knights of Merciful Aid, Iron Dogs etc. logo t-shirts

    • Yes! A tee shirt, large mug, or a tote bag with this quote would be awesome!

      Also these three items with the classic Here Kitty, kitty, kitty or with the BDH or any of the great quotes already mentioned above would also be god.

      I would also like a plushie lion wearing the Here kitty tee shirt like you have pictured above. I missed out on getting one a few years ago.

      On another note, I wanted to note Cuddles, but not sure how to work her into merch.

      Also remember Marigold. Kate had good quotes about her fondness for, and appreciation of, her loyal and sensible …
      mounts? (horses, donkeys, giant-mutant-Paint-mule ??)

  33. I’d love to have the Pack sweats available (not as sets but top and bottom separate) and/or Order workout clothes (like shirts with “property of The Order of Merciful Aid”). Cutting Edge staff shirts would be cool too.
    Also Roman merch! Dude needs more love. A black t shirt with a Roman quote or two would be awesome.

    T-shirt please. Amazon Merch premium Tees fit small but are great. Readers just need to ignore the male/female labeling and buy according to chest size.

  39. I like coasters and bags, but not a smal bag. One I can take to do grocery shopping. (When I was in the US 3 years ago, I bought one of vans, for a good cause I was told, and I still use it.)

  40. For Innkeeper, something that says “I stayed at Gertrude Hunt, and all I got was this xxxxx” (substitute in tee shirt, bag, etc for the xxxxx).

    For Kate, Cutting Edge Investigation swag (tees, bags, coozies, etc)
    maybe with a silhouette of the “here kitty kitty” moment?

  54. I agree about the overseas postage cost, that is likely to limit what we can buy. I would like a member of the BDH tee shirt. Book cover posters, or tee shirts or even mouse mats! Bookmarks with quotes. Our most quoted line at home is now ‘pictures or it didn’t happen. ( I can’t remember the exact quote from hidden legacy series.)
    Tote bags, and of course here kitty kitty kitty on any merchandise. I would love a mug but we are overseas. There are so many things that can be sold, it is choosing the ones that will sell.

    I’m sure it’s been said before, but I’d love some T-shirts with perhaps a book cover image on the front and all the best phrases from that book on the back. Like “birds are assholes”.

  57. Stuffed animals of the shifters would be cute. Mostly, I’d love T-shirts, hoodies, pjs, etc with logos for things like Cutting Edge, the PAD, the Mercenary Guild, etc. I wish I could think of more, but it’s been a while and I need a reread.

  62. I not sure this was mentioned. By I’d like a copy of some of the artwork that was commissioned for Innkeeper. Several of the artworks are beautiful and detailed. Dana, the market place and hands down the hot vampire, Arland would look great on any merch. ?

  66. I agree with sweatshirts and tees with funny quotes. Also tote bags if they are of the reusable grocery bag style. I like funny stickers for my laptop case too!

  67. I would like to see some of the funco pop type figures for all the main characters of all the story lines. My hubby has a bunch of that style figurine and they are awesomely cute!

  68. Some lovely suggestions above. T-shirts with various quotes/images (as suggested above) will always sell!

    I am about to suggest something that won’t fly, but would be so much fun: robust dog and cat toys of the various bad guys (and gals) in KD, Hidden Legacy and The Edge. Well…fun for us pet-owners (and pets) anyway!

      Seriously though, tees would be great with funny quotes – with some Vneck options preferably pretty please.
      And the here kitty kitty Curran stuffed toy you have in the photo.
      I don’t buy too much stuff – house is full already.

  69. Bookmarks, aprons, tshirts and Ripper cushions is a must. what about transfers that can go on mugs and could be changed as one got used up – no issues on cost to post and transfers mean you can have many, many mugs!!!

    oh and what about iron on transfers so you get your own tshirt or hoody and cut out postage cost issues. OR badges that can be sewn on so could create totes or add to jeans or hats!

  73. This may be a little difficult but:

    T-Shirt, Sweatshirts/sweaters and coloring books of the circles that Nevada, Rogan and the others use in the Hidden Legacy series. The clothes can have the circles in front and some quotes on the back.

    Then obviously some Curran and Conlan plushie with an “Here, Kitty, Kitty” quote on the shirt that he will wear.

    Sarrat and Slayer replicas or plushies and/or drawn on some clothes…

  76. I’ve seen tote bags come up a bunch, so I’m wondering if Chico Bags (or something similar) would be a possibility. I’m a fan – because I’ll actually use them, all the time, unlike most tote bags which will join my stack of tote bags. (Hey, I can’t stuff four of them into my shoulder bag, or clip them onto a purse strap.)

    I’m a fan of the more subtle things – I’d like Biohazard insignia, or circle work, or whatever 🙂

  77. I would like picture on t-shirt. Two towers with burning bridge under stormy sky. On top of these towers shoud be sharrum and sharratum screaming their heads of at each other. Preferably in old language. There could be Barnabas triyng put out the fire on the bridge. And some crosse siluets in background.

    I would pay a lot of money for an Innkeeper project bag for my stitching.

    I would love an abstract image of an inn keeper in a cloak with a broom as a magnet or sticker. Or just the broom in active mode, with the blue.

  82. I would love a travel knitting bag with the phrase “Just stay close to us. If we get in trouble, we’ll kill everything.” from Fate’s Edge on it.

  83. I’ve seen a couple suggestions for t-shirts with logos for Cutting Edge, PAD, etc and had a sudden image of the BDH as Harry Potter fans divided into factions. So +1 to whoever suggested badges or shirts with logos of each of the Atlanta factions and Cutting Edge. I’d wear a shirt with Aunt B’s cider logo too. I also really like the Hidden Legacy circle work suggestions. There are so many quotable lines in all the series… I’m loving so many of the suggestions, but totes and badges are my favorites – useful and let you decide how/where it goes.

  84. I can’t remember the exact quote, but the one where Kate kicks the door open, kills the wolf alpha, and was all, “If you come for us, you better make sure you kill us. My hand won’t shake, my sword won’t falter…”

    Favorite scene in a book. It was the moment Kate became IT for me. Just not sure how to incorporate it with merch. Maybe on a black tee? With a pic of a knife through a table? Or something with “the ultimate ride or die”?

  87. It’s hard because you have so many good stories, so many fabulous quotes, but one I didn’t see is anything about Kate and Curran’s wedding day. Not sure which quote, or even which merch item, but that achievement seriously deserves merchandise immortalization. Maybe a quote by the Volhv. S(orry if I didn’t spell that right.)

  88. Maybe some enamel pins, which are in right now (so says my 24-year old son). Images of Gertrude Hunt, a broom, a sword, a lion, an arcane circle….there are a lot of companies that produce the pins wholesale.

    I would love a mug with a sign that says “Welcome to Gertrude Hunt” with a broom leaning against it.

  90. I love all the ideas so far. I’d like to recommend decals instead of bumper stickers though. 1. If you change vehicles it can go with you and 2. My husband paints cars and they are sacrilege to his people so I’m not aloud to have one. Thanks!

  91. How about merch with pictures of the vamps from KD in sunblock with “Taste the undead rainbow”. Love that one.

    Also, maybe fridge magnets or bumper stickers (which I just put on my fridge with magnets anyhow). But the magnets more like those 3×3 inch ones that are plastic coated (like the ones that you see that have 1950’s quotes & pics). They would be easy and cheaker for the UK BDH.

  92. “There will be ripper cushions” with a picture of Helen, Beast, and the cat peering out from under the table cloth. I know it’s mixing timelines but I laugh every time I think of that trio.

  93. I would like a black cushion that says “ripper” on it in white letters. I don’t know if that’s been suggested because there are like 400+ suggestions already, but that’s what I want.

    Of course, I also wanted to name our dog “Peeve” but my husband wouldn’t let me because he didn’t want to have a pet peeve.

  94. I dunno if it has already been suggested but I don’t have enough time right now to look through all the comments (homework to be done ahah) and I’m scared of forgetting if I wait for later. Sorry in advance if I just repeat someone’s else ideas.

    For the Hidden Legacy series, I’d love something that can be use in a business-like environment/workplace. My first thought was a diary, or the type of notebooks that can be used to write down all sorts of information (like contacts, notes, with a calendars, etc…) so that we could use it at work on a daily basis.

    My second thought was a clipboard.

    I haven’t thought about the design yet but I’m pretty sure Nevada’s rules (the three ones, especially being able to look at yourself in front of a mirror at the end of the day ?) would fit somewhere =)

  99. How about ornaments? Flat ones with various designs or quotes so the shipping won’t be too much for international fans. Or one of those flat pack type of ornaments that you can unfold and pop-up.

    I’d also be interested in skins for technology (phones, laptops, tablets, e-readers).

    Oh, travel mugs or water bottles. I think the company Tervis does custom business orders.

    Or (and this would probably take a couple of years) a world of Ilona Andrews desk calendar. One of those day to day ones. That way we could have quotes and artwork from each series. Or a blank planner, where you can fill in the day, month, year, and there’s artwork or a book quote on every page.

    Last one: Garden flags. Or tapestries. Not the giant ones, but the ones that are about 20” x 27”.

  101. It would be neat to take the quiz that determines what you are in the kate daniels world and then not know until you get the coffee mug with the answer and an appropriate picture and saying.

  102. A stuffed animal range from the Kate Daniels series for the shifters, as well as ones from the Innkeeper chronicles (Orro would be awesome).

  103. I love,all the ideas and would shop it all, especially calendars dull of snark. Just wanted to share we have a Very small scrub brush in our kitchen named ripper cushions. My grands love it! It’s just their size and is used to both help Papa Bear clean stuff and to also serve out ripper cushions if necessary. (Grin)

  104. I’d potentially buy womens fitted t-shirts, shot glasses, magnets, coasters or funko pops and cuddly toys.

    I like quotes or references you have to know the books to get eg.
    ‘Not my circus, not my undead monkeys’ or ‘Necro in the hole’
    Eahrratim, the Rose of Tigris – picture of a rose.
    Sharrim – maybe underlined with a sword or with a picture of a broken tower, but to be honest, just the word would be best.
    Iron Dogs: Building Moats Since The Shift – maybe a picture of a castle
    ‘Amehe’ – maybe with a picture of a wolf (I like the idea of a word of power on a t-shirt or set of shot glasses with Amehe, Hessad and Osanda and another one Kate likes for example).
    Yellow lettering on a black background saying ‘EVIL AND CONFLICTED ABOUT IT’ with an arrow pointing upwards.

  105. There have been so many great suggestions I would just like to add two. A Conlan plushie with a shirt that says Honey and coffee mugs like some of the neat ones described in the different series. For example the mug that Kate gave to Ghastek.

  106. I like t shirts (short and long sleeve). Coffee cups are great too. I tend to prefer the more subtle insider type of merch.

    As someone mentioned above, logos for different Atlanta factions.

    A GertrudeHunt souvenir mug, etc

    An advertisement for the Lees shop on Baha-Char. They’re money grubbers, they have to advertise. How about Wilmos’ Military Surplus Store?

    T shirts w logos for Baylor Investgations or Rohan’s security company.

    The Iron Dogs must have a standard of some sort to put in a T-shirt or mug, same with House Krahr and The Hope Crushing Horde.

    I’ll shut up now.

  107. T-shirt please. Not something cheap. Must be available in XXS/XXL/plus sizes. (Just ’cause I’m XXL doesn’t mean I don’t have love for the smaller folks lol)

    The armholes, sleeves, and shoulders aren’t cut stupid

    I like the idea of using magic circles from Hidden Legacy or Kate’s sword crossed with Andrea’s gun or a logo design for any of the various organizations.
    Or something that says “Identify your character” or something similar, with floating glowing eyes for each.
    For something all-series-encompassing: “Lions and vampires and magic, oh my!” with Conlan, Helen, and Leon (or Arabella?) as illustration.

    That said, I’d totally buy just about anything you could come up with. LOVE the thought of IA merch!

  123. A DAY Calendar – every year I buy a Game of Thrones one for my GOT obsessed niece and each day lists a QUOTE and Character name. I’d buy a Kate Daniels world daily quote in a heartbeat 🙂 Ditto Innkeeper, with ripper cushions quote an absolute MUST!

    A MONTHLY Calendar – since day may be too much work, I’d settle for a monthly calender with each month representing a different character and best quote.

    Tote/Book Bags – for those who read print editions a book bag is a great idea.

  169. My favorite part of IA’s writing style is the dialog. I love the humor and snark so I would love to see that represented in quotes on one side and the Cutting Edge logo on the other. I would love snarky quotes on sweatshirts or loose fitting boat or scoop neck t-shirts. Most t-shirts that fit close to the neck make me feel like I am choking and slim fit tees are never, ever going on this body. I love larger coffee mugs too. 14-16oz. Examples of favorite quotes are:

  190. I like T-shirts, mugs and totes. Generally speaking, stuff that I can actually use, rather than just something that sits on a shelf. Either a collection of quotes or some badass art on the said items, but art is always iffy as people’s tastes differ, so it’s gotta be good for me to buy. For mugs, I prefer 15 oz or bigger, and totes need to be strong enough to carry lots of books. I do love the idea of the Orro cleaver, but that would probably to expensive for me though I would covet it!

Clothing can be so hard to find the correct size (varies by manufacturer: what’s L for one is M or XL for another, etc.). I don’t know if anyone’s mentioned postcards, with images of characters, covers, etc. I collect both postcards and magnets when I travel anywhere (I’m a lousy photographer), so I have good quality pictures for my albums.
    So, Brandi, were you expecting this flood when you unleashed the BDH on this question? 😉

  200. I love so many of the ideas. We would buy a lot of stuff from the standard mug to a replica of a unique item a character had in a book. A lot of people have listed some different things.

    As to what goes on the more common display type items (mug, magnet, etc.), I like the options of various sayings (quotes, mottos) and of crest-type things for different groups.

    What I also really want is a second type of option, too. I want one of the display items (like mug) that has something important from the books but is done in a way that I can bring it in to an ultra-conservative office and to those that haven’t read the books it just looks like a pretty design. Or a piece of jewelry with same concept. (this works really well with images not words)

    • Now that I mentioned it briefly I really like it: jewelry. Something that is either a duplicate of something mentioned in the books or something that is a symbol of one of the characters. Anything related to the books
      But at least one or a few pieces that you could wear to any normal adult casual event or dress-up event and everyone else would just see a pretty design and only fans would know what it was

      • Yes! This!! A great example is a black coffee mug that I have with a gold ministry of magic symbol. To my office mates it’s just a standard coffee mug, but I see it and smile. This might work with the house symbols or power circles. Similarly, I’ll often smile at the outlandish Ts and hoodies, but gravitate towards wearing the more subtle ones.

    Anything with business logo for Cutting Edge (something with a sabre), Sgt. Teddy (sergeant stripes with a bear paw?) and the Iron Dogs crest (it is mentioned at the end of “Magic Rises” when they march into the hall and in “Iron and Magic” a crest is placed in their new barracks).

    An Iron Dogs zip-up hoodie or sleeveless shirt would be great to wear to the gym. On the front chest could be the Iron Dog crest and on the back “Thank you, Preceptor!” or “If you fall, the rest will shield you” written under another larger crest or image/silhouette of the type of dog Hugh plans to breed for war dogs and “1st Cohort” on the shoulder.

    Please include larger sizes in clothing, like men’s 3xl.

  220. My idea is for the AuthorLords to have a Design Contest for the Crests, Quotes, and Fan Art. There are a lot of talented people following this blog who would gladly submit their original artwork in exchange for merchandise and bragging rights.

    Simply:
    Set the parameters ie size, number of colors, shape/area for the crests/artwork based on it going on a mug, tee, calendar, zipper hoodie… etc. Due by a certain date at midnight. Your submission is permission.

    Announce the winners of the contest with fanfare (Yay BDH Members!)

    Then release a new ☆limited product line☆ based on a Series every other month.
    (ie Hoodie, Coffee Mug, Key Chain, Car/Fridge Magnet….)

    Things will be streamlined and will help your merch department develope a rhythm. It will also help you avoid ordering errors (ie if an item like wool hats is unpopular they drop off the standard offerings next launch allowing you to bring in a new limited edition novelty)

    It would be a win-win-win to have the graphic/art work done by *talented fans *who are familiar with the franchise and *passionate about seeing their beloved characters come to life.

    • I think socks are a great idea!!! They already started to sell “reading socks” – thick warm knitted socks you can wear when you read – at Chapters (Canada’s version of Barns and Nobles) and they sold like hot cakes even if they were >25$ CAD. Thanks to climate change, people now not only love those, they need them! Anyways, I thought the ones they sold at Chapters were really plain and boring – pink with snowflakes *shudder* – so I’d really go for reading socks with references to my favourite books! How cool would that be?!

One of my favorite scenes is when Kate goes to the Casino to make Ghastek her Legatus…and a journeyman or other of the People disrespects Kate and Erra comes forward and says “Bow, WORM.” I just loved that. I would love that on a coffee mug with a rose on it since Erra is also the Rose of Tigris, maybe it changes color when hot to show how she changes from enemy to ally…Erra truly one of my favorite characters … 🙂

    Any mugs with fun quotes…I think perfect for us book devourers. Sure I’d love a cookbook collection of recipes from the Ilona Andrews universes, but that’s probably too book like, as in too much work…I think the most unforgettable meal from any of the worlds was Orro’s breakfast that had eggs three ways… and one of the ways was in those little bacon baskets.
