Reminder: Zoom at 11:00 am Central today.
It is Saturday, and we try to make sure that Mod R gets her weekend, so please direct all questions to storeadmin@ilona-andrews.com
The store is closed. We will be finishing your customer queries today, and items are going into production. The store will reopen for the make-up day on Friday 08/09.
The V-neck Issue
This is the email that will be going out to everyone who bought V-necks from the US merch portal in the first 48 hours. If you bought the slim fit V-neck, this doesn’t apply to you.
Unfortunately, the US manufacturer of the V-necks sold on our site abruptly discontinued them. They didn’t give us or our distributor any warning. They also declined to honor the existing orders.
We’ve created replacement V-necks. The fiber content of these shirts and care instructions are identical to the old V-necks. However, the sizing is slightly different. It is a slimmer fit.
We feel we have no choice but to cancel your V-neck order and issue a refund for the V-neck and associated shipping.
If you have ordered additional items, they will be shipped as scheduled.
We deeply regret this inconvenience.
PS. If you are receiving this message after the store closes, this email will contain a password that will allow you to shop at the store through Wednesday 08/07.
To say that we are upset about this situation would be a criminal understatement. We went round and round with customer service. We have a choice of the new deep V necks that are the same fiber content but slimmer fit, the unisex V-necks that are not fitted and have a very shallow neckline, or performance V-necks that are 100% polyester. There is no way to substitute, because that is not what the customers purchased.
We deeply apologize.
We created a new collection with the deep neckline slimmer fit V-necks – it was the closest match – and they are available for purchase on the website on the front page. We priced them cheaper to apologize. The email will contain a direct link and a password.
240 orders were affected. We have to manually edit each one in two places and issue refunds.
Unfortunately, this is a family run business. We all went to a birthday dinner, and I think we might have picked up something at the restaurant. 2/3 of our workforce is out with either COVID or flu. We are going slow and steady, because we must make sure we are not making a mistake with your money, so we ask for your patience. We should be able to get through most of the V-neck refunds in the next few days. We should get it done before the make up day on Friday.
If we didn’t get to your design request in time, we are very sorry. We received a huge number of requests and we did the best we could. We will keep it in mind for the next time.
The store will be reopen for one day, 08/09, for make up orders and last minute items.
Update: It’s COVID for all of us. Yay.
Jenn says
Oh my goodness. Feeling for you all!! I’m not affected by the shirt problem but just ugh ick and yuck to the stress of it all.
Big virtual hugs and moral support!!
Sabrina says
So sorry to hear so many of you are unwell – best wishes! And also sorry for the aggravation with vendors randomly discontinuing stuff, really not what y’all need in your life. Hang in there, and thank you for all your help, hard work and effort in giving us fans goodies that you are in no way obligated to provide!
Other Barbara says
I signed up but feeling ill. Hoping we can see a recording later. Enjoy the devotion.
Tempest says
Sorry to hear about the illness. Hoping everyone gets over it quickly.
We appreciate the fact that you have all the cool goodies made for us. You could have taken the easy route and just cancelled the v-necks because of circumstances outside of your control. While you weren’t able to get to all the special requests, it’s awesome that you even made that an option and tried to get what you could done.
We know you don’t want the BDH going after the vendor. HOWEVER, we take no leave of them and send no regards to their mother.
Jean says
Ooh!! That last line is fabulous! And appropriately cold!
Teresa says
+1
John says
Yes!!! Mr. Darcy’s aunt, Lady Catherine de Burgh, dissing Miss Elizabeth Bennett for refusing to promise never to accept a proposal from Mr. Darcy.
I believe the appropriate response was supposed to be for Elizabeth to retire to her boudoir and genteelly slit her wrists. Alas, the ungrateful girl was a miserable wretch and refused to do that either.
Perhaps the perfidious vendor will have a better sense of values…
Silvia says
Take Care! COVID and/or flu doesn’t sound good.
Kristine says
Hugs
I finally caught whatever my husband brought home and I feel so icky….
My fingers crossed you all feel better very soon & that I feel better before our trip to Santa Fe….
Colleen C. says
So much crud going around right now. I hope all,of you feel better soonest.
jewelwing says
Wishing you all a quick recovery and magical energy replacement. Failing that, lots of self-care. The Horde abides.
SoCoMom says
I am so sorry to hear you are all under the weather while needing to get a lot accomplished. Thank you for the store and another great book. I wish Roman could show up for you to banish sickness, unleash some nechist on the supplier, and bring you tea & cookies.
Thanks for the Zoom call on Saturday. It was a lot of fun!
I think Gordon needs his own breakout room for spoilers/reddit fans 😉
Jean says
Hope everyone is feeling better soon! COVID is a sneaky, miserable thing. Sending hugs though the ether! 💖
CatS says
So sorry you caught it. Take care of yourselves.
Sharon says
So sorry to hear about the dreaded lurgy (covid) and hope you all feel better soon.
Thanks to everyone involved in the merch store, especially Trish, who managed to source lots of 15oz mugs for the UK.
Off to make room in my mug cupboard… 😁
Johanna J says
So sorry you all are sick. Take good care!!
Rif says
Am absolutely gutted, been in hospital with a kidney infection and only just feeling well enough to check my usual websites. Missed the merch store window. Gutted. Does anyone known if the t shirts are available elsewhere? The only one i saw was a blog post a few weeks ago with the snail t shirt with the black bordered sleeves?
Moderator R says
Hi Rif,
No need to panic, as the article and the banner at the top of the page say, the store will reopen next week on Friday 9th of August 🙂
You will have your chance to reorder.
The House Andrews store is the only official carrier of this merchandise and the designs, if you find it anywhere else it is pirated and unauthorized by the authors.
Rif says
thank you so much Mod R!
Bookworm says
What about the I dream of dragons sweatshirt that House Andrews authorized several years ago? (I only mention because I own several that I bought at the time when Ilona posted on the blog, and I was considering going back for more because it’s gorgeous.)
Moderator R says
That design has never been part of the merch website :), neither purchased nor created specifically for it. I believe can still be bought from the creator. The designs Rif was asking about are store originals and if you find them anywhere else it is not an authorised sale.
Marjory says
Mad R – Don’t you mean next FRIDAY, the 9th of August (that’s what 08/09 means in the US)?
Moderator R says
Yes, thank you, I am indeed Mad R 😅. I haven’t slept more than 3 hours/day this week and I always forget about the date swap 🙂
Sabrina says
I feel for you! Hopefully the madness will abate and the sleeping recommence, in either order! (The date swap always gets me too, regardless of whether or not I’ve slept…)
Liz V. says
*Socially distant hugs*
Hope the family takes care of yourself first and foremost! <3
Anna L says
Im so sorry about it, covid is surging a lot. I hope yall can rest and not worry about the store because hard rest is one of the few things thar can reduce risk of long covid. i hope quick recovery and I hope you can not worry about store for now.
Bookworm says
Oh jeez – I am so sorry you all have Covid. Hopefully those of you who qualify (and I’m pretty sure that both you and Gordon do) get Paxlovid. I hope you all get well soon!!
Also, thank you for having the store. I know you don’t earn money for doing this and you do it because the BDH is insane and demanding (and yes, very chalant lol). Is there any way that we (or maybe just me, lol, I can’t speak for the whole BDG) could help? Or take this off your hands? (Obviously not for this episode, but maybe future store orders?) I would happily donate my time to the merch store.
Moderator R says
Thank you so much for offering and caring about our beloved duo, Bookworm!
It is a lot of work, so House Andrews would not feel comfortable not paying someone for their time, and because the store doesn’t really make profit, they are relying on family help at the moment 🙂
Bookworm says
Ok Mod R, thank you. The offer is always open though. It really would be a pleasure to help some of my favorite authors. Volunteering is a great activity lol.
Regina Digitalis says
I’m open to volunteering as well (work for free).
I’ve worked for major companies who provide e-commerce and website solutions, so I understand many of the challenges.
Happy to do any manual grunt-work, too. I can’t write fantastic novels, but I can meticulously update orders!
Courtenay says
Oh, dear. I hope that the COVID is not to bad. I really hope that. Good luck.
Sue says
So sorry about the covid! Feel better soon!!
Loved Sanctuary!!
VickieBC says
+1
Robyn says
Take care of yourselves. That’s most important. We will survive having to wait longer. Really, we will!
Appreciate all you do and ModR too!
I’m reading Sanctuary slowly and savoring it.
Hugs and good energy.
Emmalee says
*Hugs* do some mindless Olympic watching (or other tv) or curl up with a good book and rest up.
I deal with vendors all the time at my job, and it’s so frustrating when that happens.
BrendaJ says
I’m so sorry you all are sick 😷 🤒 . Hoping everyone feels better soon.
Rhyn says
Ohhh – I am so sorry to hear this is being such a difficult time for you all both personally and professionally. The fact that you continue to model for us how to behave with the highest dignity and professionalism in all interactions – well – I’m still a work in progress who one day hopes to be able to approach something approximate to your behaviour. In the meantime – I am so sorry to hear you’ve collectively come down with COVID, making a difficult situation worse when all you wanted to do was celebrate the joy of a birthday. May every encounter at this time be a healing one, and may good health return to you all as soon as possible.
Nancy says
Feel better.
Steve L says
Please get well soon. Thankyou for the time and care you all devote to us, (The BDH).
Hugs sent to any that need one.
Bev says
I hope you all get well quickly and don’t get too sick. I think it is pretty much everywhere. Stay safe everybody.
Debs says
I would like to say thank you for the attention you’ve shown to the issues that have popped up lately. In reading your response to the t-shirt issue I can see the care and concern you have regarding the impact on your fans. It comes through!
Take care of yourselves, it’s a nasty bug.
Misty says
Wishing you a speedy recovery, being sick with anything is the pits. Many thanks for everything you all do.
Bea says
I heard Covid was making a come back in some areas. Wishing House Andrews & extended family a quick recovery. I am amazed you both were able to keep the zoom chats and the store functioning! Thank you!
Mod R you rock! All the Memes were hilarious. Won’t spoil anything here but when the ban lifts Ive got a few.
A town away from here had one child in High School diagnosed with Tuberculosis, they had to notify all the parents of the students he came in contact with😳 Hoping for the best for all those affected.
Patricia Schlorke says
Get well soon!
Not your fault about the V-neck t-shirts. It’s crazy the vendor won’t even make it right by honoring the orders. 😬🤦♀️
We (the Horde) are cheering everyone on to do what you need to do. That includes you Mod R. 👏👏👏✨️
Harriet says
I already forgot what I ordered, but I’m it will all work out fine. Take care, as usual, lots and lots of warm water, and even more rest.
PSMH says
All best wishes coming your way. (And tea. Always tea.)
A terrestrial being says
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Fingers crossed no additional stressful situation arises, please focus on your health as a first priority!
Angela says
oh COVID no.
rest rest rest whenever you can. that totally sucks
Frances says
Please please please just rest and let yourselves get better and try not to worry too much about the store and any merch related issues. For myself and I imagine for all the BDH we appreciate all the care you take for our orders and requests and trust that all will ultimately get sorted and hope that you will not stress or over-exert yourselves. Get well!
mdy says
Oh, noes. Wishing everyone a speedy recovery.
Anna says
Just adding my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I wanted to know, if I embroider a copy of the lovely branch with kolovershi that appears in Sanctuary for personal use, would that infringe copyright ?
Virtual hugs for everyone
AK says
I’m so sorry you’re sick! I hope you all get well soon.
Ray says
My condolences on the COVID. Nasty. Take care of yourselves. That’s most important. Take your time and BDH will wait.
Appreciate all you and ModR do!
Virtual hugs and wishes for a complete recovery to all.
Sivi says
Oh no, I hope you all get better soon. when everyone goes down with it, it’s the sign to raise the draw bridge and just take the time as a family (if you’re able) to get all soon and park everything else. I’m sure folks will understand if that means more time being needed to sort out the orders before they go out etc. as you’re health matters first.
I think I did order a V neck from the US store, the white one with the horde logo, but as I didn’t get a link in the email I was sent, I’m guessing it might not have been the product that was impacted.
the way I see it no issues either way, as there will just be an excuse to get something next time off you decide to have the store open despite the headache that it causes you all.
thank you again for all that you do and get well soon.
Miriam says
Concerning your v-neck situation your explanation may have an error? 08/06 is tuesday.
Miriam says
Covid 😢 get better soon
Brenna says
I cannot stress, enough, the joy that your writing brings to my eldest daughter and I.
The arrival of one of your pre-ordered books in our shared Kindle is greeted by many happy exclamations (!!!) in Messenger. The impact of your writing on our quality of life cannot be overstated.
I wish you a speedy recovery, followed by glowing, good health.
Please be well, and be happy.
Above all, thank you for making a difference. <3
Keera says
Thank you guys so much for taking care of the BDH!
So sorry you guys have Covid. Get some rest feel better. Maybe catch some of those Olympic replays, Snoop is hilarious 😂
Tara says
Get well soon! So sorry this has hit you all.
Greetings and best wishes from chilly Perth, Western Australia.
Melinda says
Awww, man! I am so sorry you were inflicted with the double whammy of COVID and the manufacturer quitting. How stressful for you! I hope your Covid is a light case, but do make sure you rest enough. I know through friends and family the full recovery can take months, much like pneumonia. Deadlines or no deadlines, your health has to come first!
Tambra says
I hope you all feel better soon! It’s terrible that you have to deal with all of this while you’re not feeling well.
LZReader says
Ah, we are also experiencing Miss ‘Rona’s touch as Covid rips through our house. It has not been fun and I am so sorry you guys are going through it as well. I couldn’t read Sanctuary when it came out because I could not feel well enough nor could I handle the extra pressure of reading glasses on my face. However, it just gave me something to look forward to when I get better!
I hope you all get over it quickly! I can’t imagine having all that you guys have on your plate while also dealing with Covid. I was able to do nothing but occasionally watch Olympics on TV. Take care of yourselves, the Horde can wait!
Pam says
I am so sorry, and hope all of you feel better soon.
Ellabean says
So sorry you’re all sick!! Wishing you a complete and speedy recovery
Kat in NJ says
Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear you are all fighting COVID and have to deal with such nonsense from the awful vendor at the same time! 😢 Don’t stress about the shirts: it’s not worth it, nobody blames you, and anybody affected will surely understand.
Feel better soon💕💕💕
(virtual hugs sent!)
Kat in NJ says
Kat (not Kay)….Kat in NJ! Stupid autocorrect! 😂
Moderator R says
Fixed 🙂
Siobhan says
Best to all of you and a speedy recovery.
Wendy says
I swear, when it comes to sincerely nice people, no good deed goes unpunished. I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this when everyone is sick. I hope you all feel better soon, sending lots of love and positive thoughts your way!
Liv says
Thank you gor the store. That it is closed id fine because I already gave it all my money.
I hope you get through covid and feel better soon.
Jen says
If I could come and fight your covid I would! Seems like some dark priest should get a move on and control the nasties bothering you 🙂 You are all amazing hang in there and sending you deep dreamless sleep.
Elizabeth H says
being sick sucks! I am so sorry y’all are going through it. big ((((((HUGS))))))
Tapati says
I’m sorry to hear you all caught Covid; I hear the latest one is the most contagious yet and it has been on the rise up and down the West Coast and in pockets across the country.
What a drag with the shirts–I almost ordered a V-neck because I generally like them.
Oli says
We have a saying where I come from: when it rains it pours, life sucks. Stay strong!
Stacey says
oh covid. one of the few things you can curse and know the whole world curses with you. Feel better!
John says
Get well! I have had a number of friends with COVID.
Don’t worry about the store, it has been a year and a half since the last time the store was open, we can be p*tient until things are better.
I picked up a cough/sinus infection at a graduation party on June 28th.
Saw two different doctors and the sinuses are now fine but still waiting on the cough to go away. Second doctor said it would take a few weeks and to wait it out.
Only positive is I don’t have to go into the office as to not cough all over everyone else.
Negatives are the cough and my cat is not happy when I cough when she is laying on me.
Mary VanS says
Oh, my gracious. I hope you all get well. It’s been hitting my community pretty hard, near Gainesville, FL. My courtesy nephew has been out of work since July 25 with COVID. I’ll keep your family in my prayers.
Sam says
Oh, man. I hope you all get well very soon.
Mechcat says
Oh no! Covid sucks. I highly recommend the Paxlovid, if it is at all an option! Rest up, the Horde can activate our Emergency Extra Fluffiness Mode (EEFM). Get everyone well, then worry about other things. I’ll b happy whenever my stuff arrives, and thinking about it gives us something good to look forward to.
For the good of House Andrews, the Horde can, must increase our fluffiness lvls and exercise patience, sending all good wishes to HA and to all those afflicted with this vile plague that they will have a speedy recovery.
I’m pretty sure that’s why cats get so fluffy in emergency situations, right? We can fluff-up.(no, bad abbreviation) Fluffify? Fluffinate? Fluff-out (like hulk-out)? Not sure what the verb of fluffy is… or should b… Horde?
Kat M. says
+1
Horde fluff: activate!
Brightfae says
+1!
Kat M says
Booooo on COVID! That sucks so much!
I hope everyone feels better soon.
Mary K. Cervenka says
Such headaches and so much frustration. I feel for you all. You bend over backwards for the BDH. Thank you for all you do.
I was recently exposed to Covid. First time in four years. Going on my third week. Thank goodness for meds.
Wishing you all a speedy recovery.
Laura Martinez says
OMG. Get better soon! That’s more important than the store.
njb says
Bummer all around! Hope you’re all feeling better!
Brightfae says
Please take care of yourselves before you take care of us! Always!! Feel better!
SJ says
Oh bother! Wishing all of you health and the most mild experience of COVID in the history of the disease!
Ericka says
ugh. i hope you all feel better soon!
Jenny says
So sorry you’re having to deal with this, and while down with covid on top of it! Rest, and get well.
KC says
Feel better, but I’m bummed I missed the store being open.
Moderator R says
The store will open again on Friday 🙂
Lacey pfeffer says
🥺all that sucks. I’m so sorry
Marisa says
Just came here to say I bought the “3 evil things” women’s flowy rolled cuffs muscle tee, it came yesterday, and I am obsessed with it! The shirt is so incredibly soft and comfortable, and the fit is perfect! I also got a horde mug and it arrived perfectly intact. I’m enjoying my tea in it this morning. Thanks for the great merch.
Mary says
when is the store open again?
