A lot of people emailed us asking for preorder for BLOOD HEIR, since many of you chose to wait until it’s published and didn’t want to miss it. Here you go.

    Just think this all started because Hugh’s and Elara’s book was heavy going during this time. No fuss about that. When the time comes for their book to get back up and running, that’s ok with me (and possibly everyone else). 😀

  12. I hate to ask, but will there be a physical copy of the book available? I can download it and read it, but I’ve always preferred having a physical copy if at all possible (that’s why I tracked down one of Magic Stars over the course of a week).

    If there’s no physical copy planned, I still SUPER appreciate all the work you’re doing on this story, and look forward to whatever format is available!

      Yup, ‘preorder’ was all it needed to put a dreamy look on my face.
      After that I read the blurb and it sounds as amazing as it is in the chapters, especially the last one.
      Had to check the Emerald Blaze Countdown after that- looking forward to a sleepless night courtesy of the Baylors….

  29. Hope stuff disentangles smoothly and that you all are well, healthy, and sitting in the pool with tasty adult beverages to enjoy. It’s too hot to consider Tex Mex nachos on the patio…. I shall order the hard cover whenever available. I like being able to hold books in my hands.

    Isolation and the stress of the pandemic has turned my reading solace escape to ash. . . Except for you! Comfort food for the soul.

  38. Hi! Not that it would discourage me from buying the book because I’d still want a paper copy, but are chapters that are being posted the same thing as what the book will be? Or will there be more or different things in the book?

    • Based on the Innkeeper books, and my assumption only, but the books are tweaked a little bit, but for the most part are as per the chapter releases.

      I’m not sure how House Andrews manages to gift us such awesome writing pre-editing… their editor must have the cruisiest (and luckiest) job ever!!

    • Book get smoothed out and if things need clarified, or not needed get edited. Mostly the same as posted but edited. Just example Wing in innkeeper had a spider and it got cut in published format small thing didn’t have anything to do with story. Was reading Kentz at the time and the spider reminded me a dust bunny.

    • Ilona and Gordon edit and occasionally re-do scenes. The editor’s input is always considered. (Sometimes, the book is longer than expected and must be trimmed. Eek!)
      Also, posted story is “G” rated.The book may be a bit steamier – though not always.

    • The degree to which the editing changes manuscripts vary. Right now I don’t see it changing that much.

  39. Preordered, of course. Will also order the physical copy when it is available. I have a depressing feeling we’ll still be in isolation as 2021 comes shambling around so delightful new reading material will be most welcome.

  57. Had tried to hold off the Blood Heir chapters but today HAD to read from page one to today’s excerpt. Thrilled. Just so excited.

    I adored Iron and Magic, love Steve West so much I listened to regular romances with more PDA than I like just to hear him act.
    But… Seems like we are moving forward, Bucky has grown offspring!!!
    I kind of hope Elana’s backstory will be minimized, their life moving forward after Magic Triumphs the main plot.
    Or it becomes like Magic Stars. Great but not the the theme now needs to be written? Will buy no matter what of course.

    • Hugh’s books happen before Magic Triumps. So for Bucky to have offspring, that would mean a much later timeline.

    • Oh I do hope that King of Fire will be included in the book but of course I will be thrilled with whatever you publish.

    I am way behind on the books…My son was in a terrible motorcycle accident in mid October and I flew to LA to be with him snd help him mostly recover until I was forced to come home Nov 29th due to illness. I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in December and spent the entire month in the hospital trying to get stable. It has been a crazy 6 months of traveling for treatments etc. and I have not done much reading. So, I just purchased Blood Heir and I am wondering if Ryder is the second book in that series? I don’t read them until they are all finished and the last one I was following for a pre-order was Emerald Blaze….so I am very behind. So is Ryder coming after Blood Heir?

    • Dear Melodi, I’m so sorry for all of your misfortunes and hope that things get much better soon.

      Blood Heir is the first in a new Kate Daniels world novel.

      Ilona and Gordon planned on the second book in Hugh’s saga but it got too dark for them, as they live through the real-life world of COVID, etc. So, they hit a pause button and started this blog about Julie as a break (a palate cleanser?).

      There is a short blog story that sets the stage for Julie, aka Aurelia Ryder, and her new appearance and situation.

      Hope this helps. BDH, please correct me if I got anything wrong in the status.

      So sorry about life being so hard right now.

      Ryder is the name of the series about grown up Julie coming back to Atlanta. BLOOD HEIR is the first novel in the Ryder series. If we choose to write more. 🙂

      EMERALD BLAZE is book 5 of Hidden Legacy Series, which will be out in August.

  106. Knitting… I Have just started the Phoenix Scarf by Emily J designs. One skein of worsted wool. You only need to cast on 26 stitches, a little bit of purl, but nothing too strenuous. Found on Ravelry.
    Love the deer, they seem so calm (unlike the rest of us).

  107. So I was looking for Ryder on Amazon (didn’t use the link) and went to your author page on Amazon to look for it. As I was scrolling through “books by Ilona Andrews” there was randomly just a picture of a thermometer sandwiched between Paranormal Romance volume 1&2 and Must Love Hellhounds. When you clicked on it it went to a page to buy it. Might be something to look into, but gave me a good laugh (and a screenshot). Didn’t find Blood Heir either on that page (gave up scrolling after a bit) but did find it when searching with the right name on larger amazon search. Thanks for continuing to write great stuff!
