The people who are saying it’s different are right, but to me in a way that makes it more cohesive. I liked the first version just fine, but this seems much more polished. I’ve already pre-ordered Blood Heir and am looking forward to it when it releases. +1
Absolutely phenomenal! I had enjoyed the earlier version, but this one is richer with connections to the past and future, as well as more tightly written than before.

Finished product first chapter versus [memory of] draft–burrs removes and filed down and polished, gaps filled, scaffolding material eliminated and casting down with finer grade ioptimized material than draft material, etc. etc.
I can’t wait for this book. It releases right in time for my birthday! I think locking myself in my bedroom and reading it in one sitting sounds like the perfect present to myself.
I’m soooo excited! I love how you fleshed out this chapter! With cyberpunk in December and this a month after that, I’m happy as a clam!
