I had a call with House Andrews last night and we finalised the plans for next week. There’s going to be daily excitement coming and unveiling of projects that have been weeks, if not months, in the making. There is of course the Sweep of the Heart release on Tuesday and the Zoom events with House Andrews and yours truly, but that’s not all! ::best night time telemarketer voice::

The POD (print on demand) paperback is now available for preorder on Amazon and on B&N. This is a new pilot program so it’s a bit trial and error. You WILL get a print book but we don’t know exactly WHEN. Will it be before the release date or slightly after, only the esteemed Nuan Cee of the Merchants may know. You’ll notice that on Amazon it appears as a different page than the ebook order, I’ve been assured they will merge eventually.
The audiobook – weeeheeee! It will be available on the 13th of January 2023. You can already preorder it from B&N and Kobo (see links above).
The narrator is Nora Sofyan, familiar to those of you who listen to the Graphic Audio adaptations as the voice of Dina.

A reminder that Sweep of the Heart is already on the Overdrive system if you want to request it for your library.
If you want to buy it from an independent bookseller, you will need the Ingram edition ISBN for them to order it, which is 9781641972499.

Is she only doing Innkeeper? I think it’d be wonderful if there is a limited edition House Andrews Calendar. You can put Ascanio, Bern, Sean and whoever else has a finished portrait on there.
Hey Mod R! What copy are the illustrations in? I just got my copy and no pics inside.
The illustrations are in both ebook and paperback ????.
Which format do you have? In the ebook they are on pages 72, 77,100, 106, 109, 316.
If you double check and they are still missing, please contact your retailer customer service and request a refund/replacement.

I think there might be an issue with amazon, I ordered it by clicking on paperback option from the kindle copy link. It says the book is in stock which is different than the paperback copy above.

I do occasionally buy both and this is perfect time. It was such a complex serial that I had to read at least 2-4 prior pages for each Frinnday update.
Then I had to reread Caldenia in the series multiple times cause she is about my age, and…discuss after publishing and same to very different the other over 70 relatives in innkeepers.
A new audiobook reader can throw me WAY off, and this way I will know the plot in case new audio is difficult in any way.
So looking forward to this book release and now to whatever else will pop up,this week.

Thank you for the independent publishers ISBN. I read from Overdrive mostly, but I am extremely conscious of the cost to libraries for an eBook or audio. Being patient for a much cheaper to library hard copy to check out is difficult at times. Anyway the your Innkeeper Chronicles are perfect reading for my 13 year old granddaughter so the hard copy makes less stress on our local library $$. But if you don’t check them out, they don’t know you want them. Interesting dilemma.
BTW thanks for the cranberry recipe w/variations. It will be in competion with the Skillet Cranberry recipe (circa 1767) we use.

Interesting: I preordered the e-book a while ago, but I wanted the paperback too, so I just went to the Amazon app, found Sweep of the Heart, and that said ‘preorder’.
For funsies, I went out of the app and used a search engine to find Sweep of the Heart on the actual Amazon website. It brought up the e-book version (also shown as a preorder)…but when I clicked to change the version to paperback, it said that version is in stock.
I then ordered the paperback and it said I will receive it on Thursday (12/8!) I will let you know if it actually arrives this week. In any case, I can’t wait! It will be worth it even if I have to wait until next week. ????

Thanks for everything Mod R! (And House Andrews as well) – next week sounds brilliant, and with Holidays starting on Wednesday afternoon, I might just manage not to read it all before going to school on Wednesday morning (if I have my dates correct).
I would just like to know why book releases seem to happen on Tuesdays? Don’t people know Wednesday is a working day for most people?
It ensures that the book has best chances to make it on the NYT best seller list (they count sales for the first week, end of Monday to end of Monday) and has, thus, become publishing tradition ????

annoying question from Old Person. I had a hard time keeping track of all the characters and needed to see the visual charts of contestants, description of their spieces and etc. I also would re-read at least a few prior chapters to keep up.does the ebook include the original charts? I have to have audio no matter what.????
The book includes a character index, the online recaps, the character sheets, illustrations of the characters ????

Wow, the price difference between POD and standard print runs really surprised me. Don’t think I really understood how much it costs to make one-book vs. to make one-of-thousands-of-books. I foresee some youtube videos of printing factories in my future.

Fated Blades e-book was an Amazon exclusive and is still on Kindle Unlimited, so I think that’s the issue. The audiobook may be more available for library purchase!

*what do we call books that live in brick-and-mortar stores? I first typed “for published books” except that self-published is still published.
So as I noted, I somehow got a paperback POD copy today from AmazonDE, so at least one Amazon printed some in advance.
Question: are all the POD books designed so that the pictures are in black & white? If yes, are there currently any plans to make color prints available, either in special edition book form or calendar form or other? Apologies if I missed this announcement somewhere.
The color pictures on the blog were so lovely. The B&W are nice, too, but the color pictures really help visualizing the candidates (especially with skin tone).
Let me be clear that if I got some kind of advance copy, I would have paid for it anyway to get the ending 4 days early. But I’d still love to have the color illustrations.
I ordered, so excited. But I have a complaint – my library has a “summary of fated blades by Ilona andrews written by Justin Reese”. Such a scam. Now it can’t find your book. Is there anyway someone can contact overview or Libby so I can read your book through my library (too). I left a review, 1* and said it’s not the “real” book . It’s been awhile and no change.

We know about the “Summary” scam, unfortunately there is no full legal recourse against it.
I am sad the audiobook isn’t up yet. But I was able to order the print book at B&N.

Somewhat sleep deprived but totally bouncing with energy after so many emotional moments in Sweep of the Heart.
Reading the serial has been a fun journey of discovery, and reading the book all in one go is probaly a requisite for BDH. Next is savouring it again in the coming days to notice all that escaped the tired eyes .
Since there was so much in there, please will there be a spoiler thread? (still giddy despite work).
