I just cast my vote for “something new” or “anything you all dream up” when I this update! So my wish will already be granted with the short story! BWAWHAHAHA!
Did we know that is Romanās last name? Iām sorry I missed that, it is sort of the Slavic version of the name Saiman. Does that mean Evdokia also has that surname? Or does she keep the name she was born with by her own choice and/or cultural norm?
Going by my (limited) knowledge of Russian surnames, ovitch means son and ova means daughter. This knowledge comes, in part, from Babylon 5 and Susan Ivanova’s family, particularly her brother whose surname on his jumpsuit was Ivanovitch.
Also Evdokia isn’t married to Roman’s dad. Funniest line in the series for me was Curran commenting to Kate “did you know they were married? And crazy?” And Roman responding with “their not. Married that is.”

She clearly knows where he is and takes off to get him from Kingās Row and comes back with custom-made armour. Thereās a story there!

I chose innkeeper- Sean and Dina before I saw Maud also listed. I am glad the 34% is realized because Who is Sebastian North AND What did Klaus say to Maud about EVERYTHING! I need to know both and recognize that just will not happen at this time because that is two stories and I know while BDH would be happy that is a lot aka unreasonable to ask of IA. Whatever is written I am grateful and know I will love it because I always do.

First off, I will gratefully read any and everything you guys write! Looking forward to the new short story. I voted for Julie because after all the years and books including her in the KD universe, I’d love to see her get a HEA or just more time in her storyline. Off topic here. I was surfing Fantastic Fiction new releases last night. Anyone here read Jennifer Crusie? She and Bob Mayer Co-wrote” Agnes and the Hitman”. I discovered Bob is releasing a followup this month which reminded me I hadn’t checked her website for a long time. She writes very slowly, so I went in and checked out her Works in Progress section. I had a great time so if you’d like a giggle or two and a taste of her writing and some of the crocheting projects tied into her writing look her up. Who knew there are patterns for crocheting really pretty fish.
I do! and like you, I’ve not checked in with her website in a long time. Various of her audiobooks are on my repeat regularly list, they are so dang funny and/or heartwarming. Thanks for the heads up!

A ha ha. The local elite golf community that I occasionally cut thru to look at pandemic housing being built on backside ofā¦made me laugh today. The HOA decreed no Military mailbox flags last year. (No Semper Fi or Go Army mailbox flags.). Apparently the Halloween flags exceeded criteria this year. So HOA maintenance guys were out removing ALL seasonal flags today. Apparently having a Turkey thanksgiving flag is a No no to those in power. I expect next meeting of HOA is going to be interesting.

Thinking. While I would love to hear more about Roman, I was thinking more about short story or novella … more of a slice of his life. A book requires such an emotional journey for the lead character(s), not sure how I feel about having something horrible (more horrible) happen to Roman, breaking him. He has such a rough job as it is (always negotiating and steering his god to smaller horrors).
But yes, I would love to hear more about him, as well as everybody in Atlanta.
Was it ever decided which “Wilmington” Kate and Curran are now living? City in North Carolina, two states away, but almost due east of Atlanta? Or Wilmington Island, GA, by Savannah (and near Kate’s old house?)?
I’d vote the one in Georgia, just on the notion that Cutting Edge Investigations already has a business license in Georgia.
Fan source only here, but I think it’s North Carolina, because in Blood Heir Conlan is in school there; they moved up there to be closer to him. I voted for Arabella, but all the books are amazing.
After thinking further about it Iād love another 10 book series with a leading protagonist in a whole new world. There was nothing better than catching up with Kate every year or so, and what new challenges she faced, see how she evolved over each book. Since the last book came out, Iāll do a reread of the whole series in one go and itās just simply the best story.

I love them all. I would go (a little differently than current votes) #1 Iron Covenant, #2 Hidden Legacy (Arabella #1), either Innkeeper, Kinsmen and my last choice is Blood Heir although that would be great also! If you didn’t write such interesting books the choice wouldn’t be so difficult! Let your brains rest and it will be clear as to what you want to write about.

I think a lot of the reason why the Hidden legacy numbers were low is because we understood how much trouble you were having with the last Catalina book and we don’t want you to be so stressed out again.

How will Maud and Helen fare in House Krahr? How will Hugh and Elara arrange themselves with each other? What will happen with Julie? What happened to Derek?)

I voted for her series as well, I yearn to see her and Derek sort their shit out. But I definitely need Hugh #2 as well, to see how his relationship with Elara and his kinship with Julie develops before we meet him in Magic Triumphs.
I think that an Innkeeper crossover with both Maud and Dina (and maybe Klaus, so we get to know him) would solve this dilemma for the BDH :). For me personally, Dina is more interesting as a heroine than Maud, probably because she is very much not a fighter, she is a mediator and peacemaker, which is unusual for the FL.
Arabella is wonderful and I am looking forward to her adventures, whenever you will feel like writing them :).

If I had to choose a spin-off work for any 1 side character from any IA's series, he would definitely be my top choice. (followed probably by Cornelius, Augustin, Runa/Bern, Christopher/Barabas and Erra)
So, I voted for Innkeeper but I gotta say, I’d read anything you guys decide you want to write. For me the itch is currently Hidden Legacy or Innkeeper and since we’re getting the next HL very soon (from the looks of it) I can wait on Arabella for a little while longer. I’m also assuming that storylines will get wrapped up a little bit which means I’ll have some closure and can also wait for a new HL more easily. Innkeeper is in the middle of all the interesting bits and I don’t know what I want to see first but basically I want to see… yes!
I gotta say though guys. If you aren’t feeling what the polls suggest people want most first, I would hope that you write what you want to write. I don’t think any of us want you to force yourselves to write something you’re not vibing with. First, we really want you to take care of yourselves but second (more selfishly) we know that if you force yourself to write something you’re not feeling, we’ll have to wait much longer for new content on anything. So write away. Write whatever your hearts desire and we’ll read it and love it either way.

Oh this hqs got to be the hardest poll that I have encountered. I love all the amazing stories brought to life by the two of you but there are three story lines I want to read the most. I have been looking forward to the new Hugh book since it was announced that another one was in the works but at the moment it is at a happy pause point, so I can wait a while longer. However, the Blood Heir storyline is up in the air and I can’t wait to see the mating shenanigans. But to top it all is Hidden Legacy from Arabella view. I was absolutely fascinated with the description of her magic, how her fear is not for herself but for her family, and her insight into the dynamics of her family in the story, The Cool Aunt. She would be my top pick for the next book I would love to get my hands on.
I’m sure this is a newbie question but…don’t HA have a preference for which book they want to write next? I know they held off on some books during the pandemic, but I’m surprised inspiration or motivation for one storyline over the other isn’t the deciding factor once publishers are off the table. But I know nothing, I’m not a writer.
(Since HA romance usually culminates in the second books, I prefer Blood Heir 2 or Iron Covenant 2. I love Hidden Legacy romances, but Arabella’s romance pay-off is likely two books away and I’m a junkie that wants my hit now, lol. Innkeeper feels less romance-heavy to me.)

I just finished a re-listen of the Kate series (main books) plus Hugh’s book and Julie’s book. Now I want to change my vote from Hugh2 to Julie2. Lots of untugged threads in Julie1 that I want to see developed. And I’m eager for more Julie and Derek.
