Hey guys. So the new book was kind of complicated and tough to write, this year was really busy, and everyone on the business and creative side of House Andrews is tired and super happy for the holidays. We know you love us, and since we keep getting concerned emails about why we stopped posting, we thought we would clarify things.
Going forward: there will be fiction on the blog on Fridays. So every Friday, check in with us.
There won’t be much besides Fiction Friday until after New Year.
Mod R worked so hard this year and she deserves a holiday. Until she comes back, you have me as you moderator. After that, we will resume Monday and/or Wednesday posts.
Thank you for your patience. We’ll see you on December 22nd with cuteness, darkness, and snow. Cute snowy darkness. You have been warned.

Yay, for Fiction Fridays!
Everyone deserves a break. You guys work hard to give us wonderful stories. We really shouldn’t expect ‘more’ from you. The blog is a treat, and we love connecting with you, but we don’t want you exhausted. Thank you for your wonderful stories. Merry Happy Holidays! 😘

I hope that everyone in House Andrews and House Andrews’adjacent (including Mod Rand family, all pets of all households, wildlife in the neighbourhood and friends and of course the BDH), have a wonderful and peaceful Christmas (scorpions take note, a peaceful, chilled Christmas) and best wishes for happiness and relaxation in the new year.
Thank you for all of the reads and laughs, in what was at times, a difficult 2023.
xx

Thank you for the wonderful snippets and fictional gifts. I am quite concerned about your health, but will refrain from a ton of well-meaning advice… just know that your readers care.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to House Andrews, Mod R and all the BDH. Rest and enjoy the holidays. The Horde will always appreciate anything you write, but a special thanks for the upcoming Friday snippets.
Yvonne says
Have a lovely holiday!

Have wonderful, restful holidays and thanks so much for the stories on Fridays!
Also I’ve read several posts where you note that we love you and so you’re giving us info. I must admit, what I see in my minds eye is Ilona, Gordon and Mod R walking around muttering to themselves, “they keep asking for more because they love us, it’s because they love us it really is…..”
Or in the SNL liar voice, “They love us, yes, that’s the ticket”
😉
Elaine Morton says
Merry Christmas to you, your family, Mod R, and the rest of your creative crew!

Everyone deserves a holiday! Merry Christmas to all of you 😊

Hope this isn’t weird but couldn’t comment on a different post. Just want to say: I got diagnosed with prediabetes and working with a really good dietitian over the last year has been huge – ALSO some diabetes meds can cause vitamin deficiencies and they should tell you about supplements. Food sequence and timing can also be an issue (always eat your protein first, try to have no more than 2x carbs to protein and ideally closer to 1:1 at night). The dietician figured out I had multiple new food sensitivities and vitamin deficiencies (thanks to COVID). Once we got me tested for things, healing my gut, and taking reasonable supplements (vitamins, minerals, and probiotics) I’ve seen improvements with my numbers. She also has me eating a higher protein breakfast which affects insulin throughout the day. My numbers are slowly improving but it blows my mind that I’m losing weigh on a less strict diet whereas before the dietician I was on a very strict diet and couldn’t lose weight. Apparently vitamin deficiency can make weight loss nearly impossible and can affect blood sugars.
Most doctors only have a few hours of nutrition training. My primary care doctor is WONDERFUL (MN exchange is great) but she didn’t know about most of these things like food sequencing, meal planning nor did she give me specific guidance like numbers of carb per meal.
I also got a CGM which has helped me further clue into what’s going on (I kept forgetting finger sticks).
Good luck!

I know its late for this post but just in case anyone else is reading late I want to add vit B and D deficiencies really affect your energy. You feel excessively tired, achey and brain foggy! I thought I had developed hypothyroidism but it was vitamin deficiency! I feel much better now that I’m taking the proper supplements. Get blood work done if you feel off, it’s important to take care of ourselves, because honestly, who else will? Love to House Andrews, Mod R and the BDH.

Cute snowy darkness sounds amazing!!! And just right for getting into Christmas mood 😍 Bit late to that, as I am currently stuck at my last layover coming back from a trip to Asia… Happy Holidays to everyone!!!

Merry Christmas to you and your family we all love to catch up with your doings and I’m sure I’m not the only one looking forward to Friday fiction I personally would love another Sweep book especially as the house has connected to Daeyseñ? sorry don’t remember the spelling plus there’s Mauds wedding to Arland coming up and Klaus explaining maybe

Y’all are so generous with your time, that it is a joy to stop by!
But, that being said, rest, restore and rejuvenate!

I read the post title and my head went straight to ‘omg maybe there is a schedule the next Inkeepers book’ 😅 I’ve just finished re-listening to the GA audiobooks and I just couldn’t help it – they are soooo gooood (both the writing and the GA production 😄). So thank you for both (and for all the rest as well, Kate is one of my all time favs ❤️), have a lovely break and may the mysterious writing muses look favourably upon both of you, so that you’re extraordinarily inspired next year!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all the BDH!
Aphra says
Thank you for the Christmas present of a brand-new story. Wishing you both good health test numbers in the new year. (I’m on two diabetes meds and a statin, so I know about the numbers. Good thing I’m Canadian … I spent two weeks in the hospital in 2022 and the only bill was $45 for the ambulance. Sure you don’t want to move here? I’ll beg the immigration authorities to let you in.)
I thought it was impossible, but you delivered cute, snowy darkness. Now how am I going to last until next Friday?

Quasi-related question:
I found a book by Jessie Mihalik because there was a positive statement quoted by you by the publisher.
Do you have a list of similar statements / works available? I’ve seen occasional “I’ve read this” posts here on your blog…
thanks

I just re read part one and two. I wanted you to know I really enjoyed this one. I am a huge fan and I like all of your books to date but I think this one is Def another hit story for all your fans. I am hoping it will be a full book but I guess time will tell. Happy New Year and stay safe, may the upcoming year bring peace and good things. Best wishes

Hi, I’ve been an ICU nurse for over 40 years and 7 years ago I was diagnosed with LADA or diabetes 1.5. Think pre-diabetes for autoimmune diabetes. I thought I knew about diabetes, but when the diagnosis applies to you, the motivation to learn more is amazing. Diabetes is kind of like becoming a parent. You get all kinds of advice, but you are basically an amateur who must figure it out for yourself while on the job, 24/7. I would like to recommend a few sources that helped me know what I should do, though I don’t always do what I should. – The Diabetes Code by Dr Jason Fung. This is for type 2 and deals a lot with diet, but has good information. – Dr Bernstein’s Diabetes Solution by Dr Richard Bernstein. Geared for type 1, but good if you want more in-depth information or end up on insulin. – Diet doctor website. https://www.dietdoctor.com/ A great site for information, but also a ton of recipes. – Blood Sugar 101 by Jenny Ruhl. She has a more relaxed approach to type 2. Wants to get the A1c down, but doesn’t think the goal should be that of a non-diabetic. I don’t agree. I think normal is a great goal, I just don’t always achieve it. I’m sure everyone else is giving advice, but at the end of the day, diabetes is something you must manage for yourself. Prayers that you and your family have a very healthy and happy new year.

The stories posted, are they in book or audio?
Moderator R says
Hi Pam,
The serial is posted only on the blog so far, you can find it here https://ilona-andrews.com/category/blog/kate-daniels-world/roman-serial/ or by clicking on the banner at the top of the page that says “Free Roman serial. New post every Friday”.
Once they are finished with their weekly update on the blog, the serials are usually edited and published in several formats 🙂 .
