For everyone who didn’t win this time, don’t despair. The Horde has plenty more adventures ahead. And today, we raise a quiet toast to a beloved Captain. Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
Happy Halloween!
First?
Congrats to Katie!
And yes, a toast for our Captain.
Monster Mash first!
Yay! I’ve never been first before!
Oh, KatieV definitely should win. Great answer!!! Happy Halloween, BDH!
Congrats Katie!!!!
Congrats to Katie! And yes, the first tea of the morning here was a quiet farewell for the Captain’s last voyage.
congratulations Katie
Happy Friday
Congrats Katie!
A definite toast to the Captain. My jaw dropped when I noticed his passing on the news last night. 😢🫖🍵
In the words of the esteemed Captain, “Warp speed. Engage.”
Also, a toast to Ensign Pavel Chekov (Walter Koenig). For those who may not know, he was in the original Star Trek shows and movies. He also starred in “Babylon 5”. He was great in both.
Yay congrats Katie! Happy Halloween Hoard! 𓆩^._.^𓆪
Make it so
Congrats to Katie! Nice! Her answer made me want to put rereading The Innkeeper series next in my TBR list. 😀 And a quiet toast to the Captain, go boldly in Peace. TY for years of great gifts for our imagination.
I once worked switchboard at a hotel where the captain stayed. We took verbal messages for guests, including him. He was charming and gracious and we were all delighted to ‘make it so’ when he called for his messages. Earl Grey for me today, too.
Super thrilled about the GA production news!
I’m toasting with Earl Grey, hot. Also. I’m so sad.
Congrats to the winner!
A toast to a great actor, and a great captain!
Congrats Katie!!!
To the ending of an era, may he find his home in the Nexus.
+1
And so may we all.
Salute the actors from the Star Trek series who passed this week.
Congratulations, Katie.
My Heart breaks too!! I did raise a glass of tea for him! He is boldly going …..
“The first duty of every star fleet officer is to the truth, whether it is scientific truth, historical truth or personal truth”
Jean-Luc Picard – Star Trek, The Next Generation, Season 2
Joining the toast for our Captain and for Pavel Chekov!
There are so many wonderful Picard quotes but here is one of my favourites:
“If we’re going to be damned, let’s be damned for what we really are.”
“What we leave behind is not as important as how we’ve lived”. Seems particularly poignant.
Congratulations, Katie!
I love the Horde’s sentiment for the passing of one of our heroes.
And I forgot to mention Walter Koenig (Chekov).
Oooo another NC BDHer, I need to wear my chalant shirt more in the wild to announce myself as the horde member
