This is a general clarification due to a few hiccups we had in the last couple of weeks.
Sometimes blog posts generate issues: an unfortunate word or name, a wrong image, a dead link, etc. You have two options to report these issues: by emailing Mod R directly through the contact form or by commenting on the post itself.
In the event you comment on the post, and your issue is found to be important, Mod R will forward the issue to us. We are not always available. We unplug from our email so we can work, and we may not go through admin notices until the next business day. Our priority is writing. While the issue is waiting for our review, your comment will be hidden. It’s not deleted. It’s moved into a holding queue.
This is not censorship. We are not a government agency, so that’s not a concept that applies to us. We are a private company. We remove comments for many reasons: because they are rude, because they are off-topic, because the person is clearly emotional and may regret what they have said in the heat of the moment, etc.
When an issue is reported, we hide the comment because we care about the author’s wellbeing and want to avoid a pile up.
Once you point something out, you will get an email from Mod R letting you know the issue is being reviewed. Sometimes she might explain the reasons behind a particular thing, sometimes she won’t, but you can be assured that at some point Gordon or I will look at it and resolve it. Also Mod R does occasionally sleep. I know it doesn’t look like that, but she honestly does.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We appreciate you helping us make this blog a better online place.
