Magic Triumphs, Kate 10, will not be released until 2018.ย ๐ย If any Goodreads librarians are reading this, please correct the date if you get a chance.ย Apparently the date on the site still has September of this year.
We are so thrilled that you really enjoy our books.ย But you are getting 4 books from us this year and that’s pushing our fanbase pretty far on our end.ย Three maybe, but four is kind of over the line.ย This wasn’t the plan, it’s just the way things turned out.
What?ย How? You’re crazy! There aren’t four books.
- One Fell Sweep, which was pretty much a January release.
- White Hot.
- Wildfire.
- Iron and Magic.ย (<—Hugh’s book.)
Even if we physically could do stuff Kate 10 into the end of the year – and can’t because we also have two book tours – we would cut into our sales. ๐ย You would be sick of us.
Darlene says
Everything y’all produce is golden. I’ll (un)happily wait for something you’re proud of. Besides, I can always go back and reread my favorites (i.e., ALL of them!)
Dvenger says
Goodreads Librarian reporting for duty. And done! Can barely wait for these epic books. You guys rock!
Alex R. says
Meh???? ???
Alex R. says
You know, technically OFS was finished lady year and white hot/wildfire are just one long book and Hugh is a baaaad man (therefore doesn’t count for more than 1/2 at the most). By my count you still owe us (yes! Owe!!!! Gimme, gimme, gimme!!) 2 and 1/2 books this year!
I want it and I want it now!
What do you mean you have a regulat life? Inconceivable!
Alex R. says
“Lady year” strikes again. ?
sarafina says
Those are the BEST kind!!!!!
Ilona says
Heheh!
Nancy says
We would never get tired of you! Thank you for all of your releases.
Tori says
It’s ok, I just read the books again. Waiting……….waiting……..waiting, they are even better the second, third…., you get the picture. Thank you for a wonderful series. The Kate books are my favorite, but I love all of your books. Now if you could just speed up the days until #10 comes out.
Katherine Buchanan says
I have re-read BFM so many times I can recite it! And I’ve probably re-read one of your books each week since Kate 1.
I have so anticipated WH that I’m getting a fancy hotel room on the beach stocked with my favorite wine, cheese, pate, etc.
I will read it once. Then I will read it again. Then I will read my favorite parts and then the ending again. Then I will walk on the beach. I will always buy and read everything you write.
Cheryl zuccaro says
Now that is how to read a book!
Kimmelane says
Amen!
Cheryl zuccaro says
Btw my favorite re-read is silver shark
Teresa Bates says
I have been hoping there would be a new series using silver shark. I really enjoyed it and have re-read it. Of course I have re-read all of the books. I about had a heart attack when white hot took an extra year. I delayed a cruise so I would be home on the thirtieth.
Karen the Griffmom says
Saving the read for cruise in June. (Right after signing in Lansing.) I may cheat and read on flight to Seattle.
Cheryl zuccaro says
Does this mean Gordon will have time for more Regan povs? Just looking on the bright side. Really when final Kate book is out I will be happy and sad since it will be the end and secretly I don’t want Roland to die, I want him to grow into a granddad
Margaret says
I so agree with you?
Donna says
I would buy all even if you released 12 books a year. But I’ll take 4. Thank you.
kommiesmom says
1) We would never get tired of you. Never, never, never.
2) Four books, yes. But only two in the same series. We get news about three sets of our friends this year. No overload at all.
3) Thank you beyond measure for four books. But please do not burn out. The waiting for you two to recover is painful.
Rohaise says
Ditto what everyone else said. It’s a bit scary how frequently I re-read your books. I’ve always re-read favorite books, but with your books it’s the entire series. With WH I read the book again for I don’t know the how many-ith time and now I’m listening to the audiobook. I don’t think it’s possible to get sick of your writing, but work/life balance is important.
Bat says
Yes, three books is a bit much to expect. Four is a windfall. What can we say, we are greedy little bas…. erm basket cases.
We love you, certainly would not get sick of you, but yeah no burning yourselves out for us and you have to make a living so no cutting unnecessarily into your profits ๐
Aly P says
You’re so sweet thinking I’d get tired of reading your books. You guys are amazing! Even 6 books wouldn’t be too much ๐
Demi says
Sick of you? NEVER!!
Samantha says
Hear, here!
Katie Beattie says
As one of the legion of your fans I can assure you that your book sales wouldn’t suffer!
Any way like many others I am just grateful that there are new books this year… I have been counting the months to your releases.
At least with Hugh’s book I do feel a little bit like laughing because , (dare I mention) April Fool !!!!
It is always worth waiting for the pair of you to be satisfied with your end results. They are always fantastic . Thank you
Becca says
NEVER sick of you, but completely understand spacing things out a bit.
Sarah says
*blinks* Whaaaat? You don’t WANT burn out? Stress? WHY EVER NOT???
Seriously, would be hard pressed to be sick of reading your books but I completely understand your point. So in lieu of screaming for more, I will say thank you for what you’ve released this year!
Laura says
Um, hello, we could never be sick of you. If it were physically possible for you to publish a book a month, beyond impossible I know, we would still buy it and read it (or at least I would, I realize that I can’t speak for everyone else), and reread it and reread it!
Samantha says
You can speak for me. Sounds wiggle worthy, a great book a month. But you are right having read it once I can read it again and again and again….great books.
Signe says
Something I’ve been meaning to ask — will the events of the Hugh book be summed up in Kate 10? I strongly dislike Hugh and am not going to read his book (sorry), but I don’t want to be completely lost when Kate 10 stars.
Liz says
I’m impressed of your ability to be able to keep up south so many series and all of them so far so awesome! ? I’m glad to have the chance to have three this year. How you manage to keep so creative without running out of energy is impressive. Thank you for the great work. ?
DeeAnn fuchs says
Just so you know, I buy everything you two write and have loved them all. Take a break when you need it and as long as the books appear eventually, I will be happy. Right now I’m excited for White Hot because I get to reread Burn For Me and then after those two I will get to read Wildfire. Can’t get much better than that!!
Kimmelane says
I have to join with the others who read and re-read and re-re-read your work. Your books have kept me going through some very rough times; they provide a lovely escape from the real world for me. It’s not unusual for me to read books twice, but I read yours many times more than that. I hope you are taking some time for yourselves during this busy year! Please do, and don’t let yourselves burn out.
It is such a pleasure, also, to have the opportunity to tell you both how much we (the Horde) appreciate you. I visit the sites of many authors, but few allow comments and none have a fanbase like yours. Thank you, so much, for everything you do!
Travin says
Do admit I’m on a limited budget. Just means your books, and a few others get bought before certain bills get paid. I am sure those folks won’t mind getting smaller payments, if you change your mind and want to put out more. Lol I know I wouldn’t mind one bit. Love your books. Hope you have a great Mother’s Day. Thank you both for all your hard work.
Other Barbara says
As long as I can wallow in Rogan and Nevada’s world, the Audible is out the same day, and I am not crushed by the (I think I understood) soft/open romance ending I will be delighted.
Aw let us be honest I will still wallow even if it ends with Rogan and Curran meeting in Wilmos’s shop to let George marry them, I would listen 14 times. Then re start with swine and roses, short,
yet so magical.
They are that entrancing. I kind of have Burn For Me memorized.

I saw this online – it’s a house built inside an airplane hanger – and immediately thought of Nevadas house inside the warehouse

Rena says
You couldn’t publish more books than I could devour, unless you are putting out at least 1 a week. ๐ If I am on a day where I am doing not much but reading, I will read more than 1 book a day. However when real life intrudes with things like work, cooking, etc, I will still do 3-4 books a week on average. However I will be satisfied and happy with what you put out this year. You have the next 2 after BFM coming out in short order, then I will consider Hugh to be a Kate book. Added in a new Innkeeper starting about the 1st of the year and that hits pretty much my wishlist from you as you are spreading around the books and not “neglecting” a series that I am dying to get a new installment from. Well, unless inspiration strikes for a new short story in the Kinsman line. ๐
I will echo the others and say TY for all of your quality work and please, take a break when you need it so as to avoid burnout.
Jann says
Yay! A Hugh book… bad man faces redemption … i hope he will be redeemed with a little of the bad retained. ๐
I am happy with whatever you produce. I can just re-read or re-listen to any of your other wonderful and previously released works. I am used to Jim Butchers timeline which keeps stretching, so 4 in one year is the mother load of book gems!
Thanks for all your hard work!!
PS – I would love to see more knitting posts. I like starting projects, but I never finish. Your projects always look so beautiful that I always feel inspired.
Karen the Griffmom says
I know what you mean – I haven’t knitted since my 4-H mittens (except for a Dr. Who scarf for the cow sculpture in the yard), but Ilona’s projects make me want to go out and buy Pretty Yarn.
Amy says
I completely agree with the timeline, thing! 4 books in one year is more generous than any other author I can think of right now. I’m used to 1-2 a year, or even 6+ and counting. (I’m looking at you George R. R. Martin.)
crispi says
We can be patient ๐ Thank you for the worlds and people you build.
Carolyn C says
We’re not always very good at it, but we can be.
DianainCa says
Thanks for the update! I will be patient, I will be patient, I will be patient
Katy says
I am just hanging out forMay 30! 2018 can take care of itself!!!
Jo says
Hugh’s book will be out this year? That’s great! I’m already counting down the days to White Hot but having another of your books out will make this year waaaay cooler!
Carol says
Always good to have something to look forward to.
Silvia Herrera says
As said you both are worth the wait .
Samantha says
Happy Mother’s Day by the way.
Melissa B says
My dear Author Lords and family, First of all thank you for spoiling us and we are very grateful for your dedication to your craft. We can tell how you love it so as the world’s you have created are very innovative, intriguing, suspenseful, and fantastic to read. Being a Sci first chick, I am first drawn to OFS and I couldnt help but love the Inn! My next love was wearwolfs and vampires, and think y’alls twist on vampires and the shapshifters is so darn original to put it politely. Of course Kate and Curran are great heros. Well heck I could keep extolling why all your series are fabulous. Last point- you and your family have comitted to this journey you all are on. Please take time off and enjoy each other. Happy graduation for your second daughter coming up too.
Cheers! Melissa B
Dianna Kilgore says
Never ever could I get tired of your books! How could you even imagine that? As your quality is excellent at four books per year (or more) I am thrilled to read them. But I understand and shall try to be patient. I read three to five books a week and get very hungry when I have devoured all the books from my favorite authors. Please keep them coming. We need you. Thanks for all the books and snippet snacks that help keep me going. Love you both.
Kat says
Now that you’ve pointed it out… four books in one year is hectic. Wow. I wasn’t particularly interested in Hugh’s book to start with, but your snippets have sold me and now I’m excited! Very much looking forward to that.
Thanks for all the delicious, nommable books! Many books to look forward to.
Caity says
Does not compute. Sick. of. her. Words make no sense!
But let’s not be greedy – anticipation makes the books even better and four in a year is wonderful. Heaven knows I’m grateful for any outside force slowing down my spending on books. I often think we need something like the AA, Readers Anonymous.
Christine says
There seems to be some sort of problem with the space-time continuum: it’s not the 30th yet.
I’m sure it’s just a mistake.
Patricia says
Having already read Whitehot and Wildfire pre-release, I actually had come to terms with no other release this year (and didn’t feel the loss because those two books are amazing, fhsjshd) so this is such a wonderful surprise! I didn’t expect Hugh’s book as early as this year. *__*
OTL
C.L.Daniels says
no worries! Like you said, we’re getting 4 releases anyways (AND HUGH!!!) so we are pretty well spoiled this year! ๐
KAT52 says
Groans and crys of pain are heard from around the world.
It’s okay. We understand.
Helen says
Well usually I don’t notice or care about book covers but you have converted me. If I missed the furor about it I apologise for highlighting something already done to death
Wildfire Cover: Nevada’s NOT blonde??!! What the!
Apparently this really bugs me…
Grrr
Yes I know you don’t get to chose the covers Ilona and Gordon, its just a WTH moment! Not an attack ๐
On another note
Get well soon
My husband keeps his allergy regime going year round, he takes a 24hr polaramine (we call these horse pills because they knock you out) at bed time and a 12 hour claratyne/zyrtec/telfast (non sleepy variety) in the morning 365 days a year. His body doesn’t get to start to react. Its worked well for him he has managed not to have a allergic reaction for years.
Having said all this I am not a medical doctor in any way shape or form.
Ciao
Rita says
When it comes to your books, Ilona, I have unlimited budget.
Bought and read everything I could find. In less than 2 years.
Now waiting for your next book, and next book…
Keep rereading some books (kinsmen my favourite). Forgot about some books (was Alfas actually yours?).
So don’t count. Just keep writing: we are patiently waiting. With finger on ‘one click’ button.

Jess T says
Your books are always so worth waiting for – Kate 9 has already been read twice!
I’ll just have to start st the beginning and read everything again
You two just keep well and keep on writing in your own time to keep giving us your readers the best books ever
Many thanks
