Great audio news to usher us into the weekend:

Graphic Audio’s dramatized full-cast adaptation of Sapphire Flames is now available for preorder, with release scheduled for August 12. Arabella’s POV short story A Misunderstanding will also be included.

This is the first novel in Catalina’s Hidden Legacy trilogy, picking up three years after Diamond Fire. Catalina has been very busy learning what it means to be a Prime, Alessandro is about to do a great deal of Italian exclaiming, and fan-favourite Runa returns in the middle of family tragedy.

Speaking of Diamond Fire, reminder that the dramatized adaptation came out on April 6, so if you are following the Hidden Legacy audio releases in order, you have time to enjoy Nevada’s wedding novella before Catalina fully takes the wheel in August.

And that’s not all that GA has in store for us!

Nora Achrati is back in the Kate Daniels world, and has started directing and recording for the Wilmington Years series – with Magic Tides to be expected in late July.

The script is wonderful, the covers are being designed as we speak, and Nora, of course, brings all of her experience from the main series with her. I’ve also told her everything about the Horde’s reactions to Wilmington, so she knows about the Consort (ever merciful), the magic clams, the Keelan love and just how much we were missing Kate and didn’t want to give her peace in her HEA hehe.

After the Wilmington Years, Nora will move on to Blood Heir. That one is further down the line, and I do not have an official date for you yet.

A lot of you have also asked about a dramatized adaptation of This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me. Thank you for all the casting and directorial suggestions, soundtrack concepts, and the enthusiasm, but a gentle reminder: House Andrews is not hiring or commissioning Graphic Audio to produce these adaptations, nor controlling their business and creative decisions.

GA are an entirely independent business, who approaches authors for adaptation rights of the works they are interested in, and entirely designs and produces the full-cast “movies in your mind”. As soon as we have official news on the Maggie the Undying dramatized front, we will announce it.

Until then: preorders are open, recordings have started, and our summer is looking very good indeed.

    Yay to more Graphic Audio adaptations! I haven’t listened to Diamond Fire yet. Work commitments and life have gotten in the way. Plus, I’m reading another book (not Ilona Andrews – gasp, I know) since the last of the series is coming on May 5th.

    Oh. My. Gosh. To listen to the whole crossing the river with Mr. Sharpshooter, Kate, Cuddles, Thomas, and his horse is going to be a pause, laugh so hard for 5 minutes, listen, and laugh so hard some more, and rewind moment for me. Every time I read “…that isn’t strawberry syrup…” I laugh so hard, I have to put my Nook down and wipe away tears. Then I laugh again at the conversation between Hugh and Kate. Oh, no, we do not need the Preceptor in Atlanta again.

    Off to pre-order both book adaptations!

  10. Yea!!! More Kate on GA!! I’ve been trying so hard to be chalant and satisfied with re-readings of Maggie, but my mind keeps turning to Wilmington and wondering when Nora would get back in the studio. You have absolutely, positively just made my day!!

  12. I loved all of GA adaptations and enjoyed Diamond Fire. Is the same voice actor for Alessandro that was in Diamond Fire, will be in Saphire Flames? OMG will we get magic clams emphasis in Wilmington I would love that.

      • I will reserve my judgement for when he isnt trying to speak with an over the top italian accent. I have enjoyed most of GA choices so I will see. He didnt do it for me in Diamond Fire, but I will still hoping. I really enjoyed Catalina Trilogy so I’m looking forward to the GA adaptation.

  15. Yipee! I got my Mom hooked on House Andrews book via graphic audio so yay for more!! I am enjoying them as a new way to experience the worlds and books since I have consumed them multiple times via written or regular audio versions.

    • I did it on the Graphic Audio Reddit page. And I am not the only one, the Horde is Mighty lol….

    • They also have. Graphic Audio Fans Facebook page but not sure if producers are involved in that at all.

  33. HA turned me on to GA. Before, I was a thorough book nerd in the vein of “a graphic audio adaptation of a book, NO!, that’s sacrilege!”. Then, I listened to the GA adaptation of Magic Bites, just to see what all the fuss was about. I am now hooked! I look for ALL GA adaptations of my favorite fantasy books and I have fallen into a rabbit hole.

    Thank you HA for drawing me into that world. It truly is a movie in my mind.

  34. Y’all need to inform GA that Hugh 1 is critical to the KD reading order. I get GA decides what they want to get rights for, truly. But a new reader hitting KD Book 10 without first reading Hugh 1, will miss out on insights that elevate some delicious scenes.

  36. Oh, nice news! Might have to invest just to get Arabella’s short story. That one is so cute and such a great indicator of how Arabella is getting control over her talent. Hopefully they will consider doing the same with The Cool Aunt.

  38. This reply has nothing to do with the blog content today, but I just finished reading the book this morning, and I almost cried because it was over. Seriously. I think this is your best one ever. I loved ALL the characters, although I did keep having to use the search engine in the book to hunt down ones that I didn’t know or had forgotten who they were. It was just great. Great plot, great characters, great writing and some terrific humor in there. I laughed out loud quite a few times.

    But I really, really loved it, and I can’t wait for the next one. I was so happy to hear you say (someplace) that there were going to be future books (as in plural books), which makes me even happier.

    For what it’s worth, I put it off this long because I think that anticipation makes the book read better. And so I’ve been holding off as long as possible, and I finally caved. But now I could kick myself because there is a cliffhanger! So I will have to re-read it again quite soon. Maybe in a month. That should be enough time. Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a wonderful book.

    • NEVERF MIND – I found Diamond Fire – Book 3.5. I must need to retire sooner than this September if I am forgetting these things.

    • There are ideas for an Arabella adventure, but it is not on the plans at the moment 🙂
