Hello, BDH! Thank you for a fantastic Book Birthday! We are 21 on Kindle as of right now and it is glorious.
Some Issues popped up, so let’s knock these down.
Canadian Amazon print copies are not available to everyone
There are third part sellers but not native Amazon print.
I wish you could hear the level of WTF coming from both Texas and New York regarding this issue. We do not why this happened. We have made a big stink with the support, or rather our agency did on our behalf. We will get this resolved and let you know as soon as possible when the print copies will be available.
International vs US Merchandise
There are 2 sites in the merch store: US and International. Every International item has UK –, CAD –, AUS – or EU – in the title. Most international items also have a description that says: “this is a product for people in UK” or some such.
You know we love you, but it takes actively trying to order from the wrong country.
::picturing BDH yelling, “Buzz off, we have no respect for geographical restrictions!“:: Hehehe.
We love you, and you are mighty, but please doublecheck your order. If you have ordered items from the wrong country portal by mistake, like Australian items from the US for example, please email us. We will fix it for you.

I’m in DFW and got my print copy w/bookplate Monday in the mail from Blue Willow Bookshop. It was great!!
I got my Kindle shortly after midnight, my Audible Audiobook after 3 am, and my print book around 6pm on my front porch. All done. Thank you.

I was unable to order the Kindle edition of Sanctuary via Amazon. Amazon said it was unsupported on the order page. I was able to order it via Barnes and Noble even though I hate their app. It appears that some people were successful in ordering via Kindle. Do you know what the issue is? I’m not sure how to post a picture or I would show it to you.
It sounds like you were trying to purchase the ebook through your Kindle, or Amazon app- that is usually the message, that it is unsupported. This feature hasn’t been available for a while, you can only purchase through a browser Amazon page. This has nothing to do with Sanctuary, it is a conflict between Amazon and Apple- Amazon doesn’t want to pay Apple a cut of any in-app purchases, so users can no longer buy books in the Kindle app for iPhone or in the Amazon app.
Ugh, I hate not being able to purchase books in-app on Kindle. I’m almost certain this costs Amazon more than they’d lose by giving Apple a percentage🤷♀️
I don’t have a Kindle but use the Kindle app on my tablet. I used to be able to buy through there but then they removed that ability and blamed it on Google Play policy changes. I can still add it to an Amazon wish list so I can then go to Amazon to buy it.
I assumed it was just the Kindle app that had that restriction and not the actual Kindle device. Or were you talking about a Kindle app?

after a yr, I keep forgetting and trying.
my workaround is I use the more info bit to get the full listing, add the book to my amazon list, so that when I gointo amazon, its there for me to add to a basket and pay
I buy through Safari on my iPhone — it’s still a browser! Switching from app to browser and back as needed is less of an annoyance than switching from phone to computer.
Thank you for this information…good to know reason! I prefer Kobo for my ebooks, but sometimes purchase Kindle books. I always wondered about the inability to purchase directly from the Kindle app. I usually just go to Amazon website to purchase when that happens.
Not Apple that’s the issue; it’s the patent troll who waited until many apps were using the in-app purchase feature to inform them of ownership and demand restitution. I notice they waited a few years before going after google. Amazon decided they weren’t giving them a dime. They were already giving apple a percentage – this was above and beyond that.
Thank you for all the hard work! I ordered something from technically the wrong country, but it was on purpose – I’ll pay the customs surcharge for the awesome “beloved by evil things” sweater because I just thought it was worth it 😊 and who cares about the six weeks delivery time, it’s over 30 degrees (C) here, won’t be needing it any time soon I think 😉
I read Sanctuary today and loved it all – including the glossary and the essay! Can I vote in “we just need to get the little dushegubs to sleep” for a future piece of merch or would that be against the rules? 😉

You can try to email the store admin and enquire if your preferred design (Beloved by Evil) could be put on a sweater for you on your own country portal so you don’t have the long wait/shipping costs.

I appreciate it, but honestly, it’s fine 😊 y’all have enough work to do! It was a very conscious choice (hoodie vs crew neck) and there’s not that much difference between the UK and EU (ah, if only we still lived in the pre-Brexit times 😉) So thank you, but I’m happy as is, no need to spend time on this! It’s too hot to even contemplate making things more difficult than they need to be 😉🔥
I did the orders from all over for the same reason. and also knowing my fellow horde, so that the bits I wanted wouldn’t sell out and result in more waits:)

I had the same problem, but managed to pick 2 things. I was trying to pick just 1 but my hunny gave me the “it is OK to get stuff that makes you happy” talk and so I got both lol

Experiencing US customer service as a German is truly bewildering. Imagine us Germans to be the counterpart to US friendly hospitality. I was taken aback, I don’t expect friendliness. 😅
Me, it was me. I thought I hit the U.S. button and ended up with very large shipping fees. Thank you so much for your very prompt reply to my email. I went back and ordered more. I just nailed Christmas for my husband and Daughter.

I wasn’t going to buy anything this go round but succumbed. THEN, while reading the comments today, saw that I had missed the doormat. As I hope to be moving to a new home about Christmas time I decided it was essential and ordered one, hehe.
I am still floating on my book buzz from Sanctuary. I do hope the issues get resolved for the rest of the BDH. It was so good. I have never been disappointed by House Andrews, ever. I think I get heart eyes and little rainbows and butterflies floating around my head when I talk about their books, lol
afraid to read comments here in case spoilers have washed over. I loved the variety in the store. my hubby, not an IA reader, uses his Roman “cops and serial killers” mug just about daily since whenever the last merch release was. There’s some color fading, but it still joyfully proclaims his false identity as a black coffee drinker. I have joyfully ordered a mug about repressing emotion for my mug-collecting FIL. Hopefully he finds it as funny as I do!
as an aside, hubby learned to drink coffee black from his politician grandmother. it’s a matter of being easy to accommodate. you are offered coffee, you say yes but they don’t have to do the cream and sugar dance. I of course am a rebel and only drink tea and water but am American and therefore on the wrong continent. Grandmama never warmed up to me.

I actually ordered 5 items from the US shop and 1 from the EU shop. Quite deliberately, as I couldn’t find what I wanted in the EU shop, so I had to plunder the US shop instead. ^^;; Shipping costs is certainly not a joy, but it’s worth it. 🙂

LOVED Sanctuary!! THANK YOU!! Listened to it today and will read it on kindle tonight! It was a good thing to listen to while I painted our kitchen, and it made the daughters feel just unwelcome enough that they didn’t bother me with a lot of things like wanting to be fed!

The Canadian paperback issues are probably not affecting you in Iowa, it’s more likely that the print on demand just needs to restock to keep up with the demand of the BDH, but please contact Amazon support for more info. If the delay becomes significant, please let us know and we’ll investigate on our end 🙂

Congratulations on the Kindle list placement! I did my bit by pre-ordering but am saving it to read this weekend as a special treat after an extra-long workweek.
1. I am one of the wretches “actively trying” to order from the wrong country. I bought several items from the Canadian store. There was one T-shirt design I wanted that was only available in the US store, so I bought it there – knowing the shipping cost.
Shipping is per individual item anyway – and CanadaPost is not shy about gouging on domestic parcel shipping. I checked first and the cost difference for a T-shirt coming from the US vs Canada was under $5 CAD…. For that little, I was not going to pester anyone, so I just bought from the US storefront and I am fine with that.
2. Canadian print copies: I had no problem whatsoever pre-ordering my Kindle ebook copy from Amazon Canada back in April. It was delievered right after midnight on release day. And for a physical print copy, as you implied, my local independent bookstore is more than happy to get me one.
I have to admit my orders from the UK (h9me) the EU, Aus and The USA were not an accident. I just really liked different merch in different places. as I join others under the banner of
“Boarder Crushing BDH” 😁
I also don’t have a problem with paying shipping for something I really want! I have to budget that, but I’ve been saving for the Sanctuary Merch.

Enjoyed the story very much, but sniff, wail and tears for another cliffhänger (Kate and downfall of Atlanta pack, July/Aurora, Hugh, not to mention innkeeper, Hidden legacy and and). It’s really hard for devoted reader to wait and wait. Couldn’t you maye ressurrect the friday snippets, pretty please. That would make the wait a bit less long. Thanks for all the fun storys. Keep going ( writing).

However, Sanctuary did not end in a cliffhanger. A cliffhanger or cliffhanger ending is a plot device in fiction which features a main character in a precarious or difficult dilemma or confronted with a shocking revelation. The protagonists of Sanctuary are safe, have defeated their enemies, and heading out to make cookies 🙂.
Neither did any of the other series you mention. Having questions or hooks for the next sequel is not the same as being left in a cliffhanger.
Speaking of sequels, the Hidden Legacy series has finished and no more instalments are expected at this time. That doesn’t mean there definitely won’t be any, but it is not a guarantee. Last time I think I ended up ordering more BDH requests than originally stocked items. Which is why I’m waiting until tomorrow to actually place the order!
Not sure if this is a possibility in the future or not but would be great if your merch shop would be able to have Afterpay as a payment option.
