Virtual Tour
The release of BLOOD HEIR is just around the corner. Normally, we would be arranging signings with bookstores. Unfortunately, COVID is still rampaging through the country, so we are home-bound but we still want to meet all of you and chat about the new book and what it means for the Kate Daniels universe.
We are doing two virtual appearances for the release of BLOOD HEIR. Both will be via zoom. There will be an FAQ and giveaways. 🙂 You don’t have to register, but it’s best that you do because attendance is limited. We tried to time the Saturday event so our European readers can join.
Tuesday, January 12, 7:00 pm Central.

Saturday, January 16th, 12:00 pm Central.
Click here to register for Saturday After Party.
We are recording these zoom events and will make them available for viewing on YouTube, or so we hope. If you are unable to attend but would like to have your question answered live, please use the contact form and select Blood Heir Chat Question as your technical issue. Our moderator will look through the questions and select a few most common ones for us to answer.
Signed Copies of BLOOD HEIR
We have happy to announce that we partnered with a couple of independent bookstores to bring you signed copies of BLOOD HEIR. Because of COVID, “signed book” in this case will mean a book with a bookplate. BLOOD HEIR is self-published, so it will likely be the same size as IRON AND MAGIC or Innkeeper books. Here is what a bookplate will look like.
The price of the paperback is higher than the usual price of the mass market. This is due to it being a print on demand title. We try to keep our margins as low as we can.

Small Magics Giveaway
We are giving away 3 copies of the Subterranean Collector edition of SMALL MAGICS. The giveaway is open to all readers.
The books are absolutely gorgeous, signed, and numbered.
To enter, post a comment on this blog about what you’re looking forward to most in 2021. The giveaway will end on Tuesday, January 12th and the lucky winners will be announced during Book Release Party and then posted on the blog.
If you commented and you don’t see your comment, don’t worry. Your comment is registered. We all collectively forgot that a new year started and our website host is caching the posts. This is being fixed. Please don’t comment twice. 🙂
Finally, we humbly ask you to please help us spread the word about Blood Heir’s release. We would like the book to succeed, so if you could mention it in your readers groups or social spaces, we are grateful.
And this concludes this massive publicity post.

Figuring out what to cross fingers for is a bit tricky… Even being cautiously optimistic feels scary, doesn’t it? But today, I’m looking forward to Humanity at long last heeding the call of basic common sense. Civil War in USA CANNOT happen. And Gods do I hope that I’m right in thinking that intelligence and goodness will prevail…
Christy L Downey says
I am looking forward to spending my stimulus check in 2021 on an annual platinum membership to audible, an annual guest library electronic membership to the Orange County Public Library in Florida, and an annual Kindle Unlimited membership because 2020 isn’t done with us yet, and books = sanity.
Sheryl O. says
I’m most looking forward to being able to see my family in person rather than just over zoom. It made for some strange holidays. I also would like to get rid of this constant nagging worry that’s always there, lurking in the background, sort of like Eeyore’s cloud of gloom.
Kirsty Crosby says
I am looking forward to finally being able to get my oldest daughter the counselling and help she needs to succeed in life. She was finally diagnosed with ASD in November. Despite Covid making things difficult this year is going to be about growth and love as a family.
Stevie Friesen says
I am most looking forward to new opportunities and ways to grow. I have hope for 2021 and all that it will bring.
Sharon AuBuchon says
I am looking forward to (safely, of course!) returning to my original position as a school nurse and no longer having to case investigate for COVID!!
Kathleen Warwick says
I am looking forward to visiting family and friends in person this year. If that is still not possible I’m looking forward to all the new books that are coming out, to help pass the year.
Betty Russell says
Am looking forward to reading Blood Heir. Would love Small Magics also.
Kerryn says
What am I looking forward to most in 2021? I should nominate something uplifting but no, this is all about me. My dominate hand has been in a cast for the past 4 weeks with at least another 2 weeks to go. After that I will need months of rehab. I never realised how difficult it was to use a mouse left handed, butter bread, cut a bagel using my left hand (held in place with my right elbow, but did end up cutting myself). It means I cannot write or drive a car, or garden.
Sometime in 2021, I am looking forward to being able to write, to drive, to wash my hair, hang clothes on the line, cook …
Kimberly Sluss says
I’m looking forward to hugging my dad who turned 79 in 2020 and isn’t in the best health and is the only parent I have left. I’m also wanting my dad to be able to hug his grandson (my son).
PAMALA CARTER says
I am looking forward to being able to hug people once the pandemic is over. I always thought I was stand offish until I realized how much I really do hug people who also want to be hugged in return. When I see a friend who hugs, the arms go up and then down in dejection when I remember I can’t hug right now. Human touch really is so essential to our well being. I miss my cousin Steve’s bear hugs. They are so awesome and comforting. I miss hugs.
Sara says
I am looking forward to hopefully getting a raise at work so I can feel a little less stressed. And maybe get ready to have a little one…
Valerie Fiscus says
I’m look forward to having my 1st child’s 1st birthday in June and having my second child in July. Two Covid babies…it’s been a crazy unforgettable experience.
Jannette says
I can’t wait!
Rebecca Deckebach says
I am MOST looking forward (in 2021) to anything Ilona & Gordon Andrews release for me to read (or listen to as I also buy the Audio books). They are my favorite all-time authors!! (And I think Rene Rodman is one of the best EVER “readers”!) Hoping all of our 2021 year brings pleasant, hopeful surprises and blessings!
JA White says
I am looking forward to meeting my new niece Laure in 2021 after an aborted trip last summer and seeing my girls play with their cousins and hug their great-grandmother.
Jillian says
I’m looking forward to getting to the point where it is once again safe to gather with family. We PCS’d back stateside a few months ago, and I’m really looking forward to being able to maximize now living driving distance to family.
Thank you for your generosity in giving of your time and words. Your blog has been a light and source of levity this past year.
Jennifer says

Thanks for adding a little joy into the work with your stories!
Stephanie K. says
My most anticipated part of 2021 is becoming comfortable in my new job as a nurse. I’m going to finish my nursing residency in March this year. It’s been absolutely crazy having my first year as a nurse be in COVID land, but with the vaccine here things are looking up!
Also more books as I am sure everyone here will agree! 🙂
Taryn says
I’m looking forward to a slower pace with space to enjoy beautiful sunsets, time with family and friends, creating some lovely quilts, cycling to work and lots and lots of reading…
Susan says
What I hope 2021 will bring: my husband, daughter and I completely recovering from covid19, continuing to lose weight (most has been lost in 2020) and reaching, along with maintaining, a healthy weight, the vaccinations making it possible to: see my out-of-state daughter, being able to visit my aunt in Florida, being able to spend time with friends and family, eating in restaurants, going to see movies at theaters, and no longer needing masks, etc. Also getting rid of a lot of clutter, reading and listening to many books, walking, sleeping better, the house painted inside and out, more badly needed repair work done, for an end of the riots, violence, destruction, division, etc., and for a good economy, unity, peace, good solutions for the many issues facing us, and an end to the pandemic. This is not in order of importance.
Nicole R. says
I am looking forward to the COVID-19 vaccines bringing myself and my husband more safety at work. I’m also looking forward to (hopefully) being more free to travel again so we can see more of our extended family and friends.

I’m looking forward to indulging in some hobbies that “I’ve been meaning to get to but can’t seem to find the time to do”. I want to finally finish that origami dragon, crochet a love blanket for my nieces and nephews, and sign up for roller derby classes.
Kendra says
I’m most looking forward to getting my vaccination! Everything flows from there, so I can’t wait!
Jordyn Lucas says
In 2021 I’m looking forward to finishing my PhD (hopefully!! Fingers crossed my science cooperates)

Good luck and hopefully congratulations! That is a tremendous accomplishment and I hope you take some time to feel pride in yourself.

I am finally able to take O. Chem II this semester, and I am looking forward to being back in the lab. Also, we are getting a puppy in May and I’m looking forward to my 3yo daughter experience the love of a dog.
Claire says
I’m looking forward to family in 2021. My older sister is pregnant with her first child which is weird and wonderful all at the same time. So I’m looking forward to a healthy baby boy and being the cool aunt. Your posts about yarn and knitting helped me get back into knitting again, so now I’m quickly trying to learn how to make all the cute baby things. Thank you for helping keep us all sane this past year. I can’t wait for the new book to be out!
Liz says
I am looking forward to getting my COVID vaccine shot next week. I would like the government to spend this type of money on finding a cure for breast cancer and ovarian cancer. I look forward to seeing all the changes people make in their lives since the world shut down. We all got a once in a lifetime reality check. A huge block of time to think. A blessing in disguise. Won’t come again. Can’t wait to see what happens. Don’t blow it…
Lauren says
I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family and friends this year, making them my priority. 2020 made me realise I need to slow down, look around me and appreciate all the little moments. I’m reading more, talking on the phone more, commenting more, rather than just “liking” a post. This year I’m moving to the slow lane 🙂
Trish Henry says
I just want to see my family and hug them. Same with my friends. And that they’re all still alive.
Sophie says
I’m looking forward to graduating university and all the 2021 books I’ve preordered!

I’m MOST looking forward to the Covid vaccine, but I’m really looking forward to great new books to read too!

I am looking forward to seeing my family and hugging them again. Also waiting on constructing our new garage so we can finally get some space in the house by moving all the bicycles and tools out of the house.
Thank you for everything you do, the blogs posts make me happy as do the books, just wanted to mention that as well 🙂
Leigh-Ayn says
I am most excited for the new books coming out in 2021 by my favourite authors!! With Blood Heir the first cab off the rank!

Most looking forward in 2021, is the birth of our 4th daughter! (and not being pregnant any longer- I’ve definitely reached beached whale status and the seagulls are circling) ????
MIRANDA PERKINS says
I am looking forward to the hopeful end of covid and things getting back to normal.
Jasmin says
I am 5 months pregnant as of today and am looking forward to delivering a strong healthy baby, fingers crossed without the additional stress of Covid, although i think the latter might be wishful thinking on my part. After that i will be longing for the day i can actually physically go to a bookstore and hoard up on my favs to read during my maternity leave.
Wileen Chiu says
Hopefully, once COVID calms down, I can make some plans to travel internationally to Taiwan, and Japan. Also, travel within the states to see my nephew!
