Virtual Tour
The release of BLOOD HEIR is just around the corner. Normally, we would be arranging signings with bookstores. Unfortunately, COVID is still rampaging through the country, so we are home-bound but we still want to meet all of you and chat about the new book and what it means for the Kate Daniels universe.
We are doing two virtual appearances for the release of BLOOD HEIR. Both will be via zoom. There will be an FAQ and giveaways. 🙂 You don’t have to register, but it’s best that you do because attendance is limited. We tried to time the Saturday event so our European readers can join.
Tuesday, January 12, 7:00 pm Central.
Click here to register for Tuesday Release party
Saturday, January 16th, 12:00 pm Central.
Click here to register for Saturday After Party.
We are recording these zoom events and will make them available for viewing on YouTube, or so we hope. If you are unable to attend but would like to have your question answered live, please use the contact form and select Blood Heir Chat Question as your technical issue. Our moderator will look through the questions and select a few most common ones for us to answer.
Signed Copies of BLOOD HEIR
We have happy to announce that we partnered with a couple of independent bookstores to bring you signed copies of BLOOD HEIR. Because of COVID, “signed book” in this case will mean a book with a bookplate. BLOOD HEIR is self-published, so it will likely be the same size as IRON AND MAGIC or Innkeeper books. Here is what a bookplate will look like.
The price of the paperback is higher than the usual price of the mass market. This is due to it being a print on demand title. We try to keep our margins as low as we can.

The books are absolutely gorgeous, signed, and numbered.
To enter, post a comment on this blog about what you’re looking forward to most in 2021. The giveaway will end on Tuesday, January 12th and the lucky winners will be announced during Book Release Party and then posted on the blog.
If you commented and you don’t see your comment, don’t worry. Your comment is registered. We all collectively forgot that a new year started and our website host is caching the posts. This is being fixed. Please don’t comment twice. 🙂
Finally, we humbly ask you to please help us spread the word about Blood Heir’s release. We would like the book to succeed, so if you could mention it in your readers groups or social spaces, we are grateful.
And this concludes this massive publicity post.

2021 anticipations: Routine. Rituals. Daily moments that cycle in and out.
It’s a bit of an odd thing to look forward to, and def not what I’d expect of my no-plan personality. But covid displaced me and my family too many times last year. Quick count has me in over 7 houses.
Finally settled in my flat, I find myself most looking forward to daily anticipating the morning sunshine that sloshes across my kitchen counters. The teabags I can reuse in a cracked dish on the windowsill. And the click of a lock in a front door that is my own.
So here’s to looking forward to daily moments that soothe my wander-weary soul. I hope that as I anticipate, enjoy and treasure these snippets of home, I will find myself fortified to handle the chaos of life when it comes.

I am managing the development of a new hospital, scheduled to open at the end of the 2029. Here’s looking forward to delivering the hospital on time, on budget, to serve the community and my country, with total commitment from the project team.
Ann says
Thank you!
I am definitely looking forward to the release of Blood Heir! However, the event I am most looking forward to in 2021 is my daughter graduating high school. The last 4 yrs have been an emotional roller coaster ride for her. Last yr things started turning around and she started getting excited about college and making plans for life after high school. I am excited for the adventures and self discovery that lay ahead for her ????

I’m too uncertain as to what 2021 will bring to say what I look forward to. I would like to say that I look forward to a return to a normal life, but I’m not sure that will ever happen. I look forward to a day when I can turn on the TV and nothing of any consequence will happen, no new covid death numbers, no riots, no protests onany side. I fantasize about a world where leaders care more about the people than protecting their careers or parties.
Karen says
I’m looking forward to moving to a new home in a state that’s new to me. I’ve owned the home for over a year but COVID put a damper on things. This year I’m moving no matter what happens.
Salma T says
I’m looking forward to my family getting back on their feet again after a series of consecutive health issues.
Cathy C says
I’m looking forward to getting together with my fellow geeks at a couple of local cons & going to DragonCon again.
Bliss Crimson the Mooncatx says
What I’m looking forward to most in 2021 is being able to physically hang out with my friends and go out and have dinners and movies together. I’m mostly a homebody, but I love doing things with people also. A lot of my friends have health issues and have been in “lockdown” due to the pandemic. It will be nice to see them face to face and to spend time together.
Christine says
I am looking forward to walking in snow, to curling up with a pile of new books, and to gathering with friends (it has to be possible some time this year, yes?)
TabA says
I’m looking forward to:
– moving closer to friends and family
– having more free time being able to focus on my health and fitness
– Blood Heir
– winning the Lotto
– New Innkeeper ????
– a baby
Ok, so last three are not confirmed but if I put it out to there, the universe will provide ????
L.C. says
Looking forward to getting our place all settled in. Boxes are still unpacked.
Alexis says
One thing has already happened: 2020 is over. (Yay!) Apart from that, I’m mostly looking forward to having meaningful in-person interactions with people who don’t live in my house. Even if I can’t have it for myself, I really want it for my children.
Emily Kless says
How very exciting!! I can honestly say because of COVID this last year, I was able to read even more than I normally do but also had a rough time being separated from family and friends. People don’t realize how scary it can be for those of us with immune diseases especially anything to do with your lungs as I do, so I’ve been very careful to keep “socially distant” from everyone, which has been downright depressing.
I am looking forward to 2021 to bring some new doctors into my life to help with my health problems! I’m sure most of us are praying for a MUCH healthier year, for everyone and it’s my (personal) daily prayer!!
So hopefully, better health as well as time to spend with my family!! Who I’m missing a lot!!
Margot D says
I would like to succeed in finding a job. Badly.
Thank you for the chance ✨
Megan Procaccini says
Our new puppy will be ready for pickup at the end of January. She is a standard Bernedoodle. We’ve never had a dog before. The kids and I are so excited. The great name debate is still going. Hopefully we’ll decide on one by the time she’s ready.

In 2021, I am most looking forward to hugging friends, family and co-workers – real hugs, not vitual.
Cyn says
Happy New Year. I am most looking forward to taking long hikes while listening to audiobooks. I am really thankful that so many authors are starting to do audio versions of their books.
Haelee says
I’m looking forward to starting the second semester of medical school! We’re on our hematology unit now and will move on to respiratory health next, which will be especially interesting in light of COVID.
I love reading all of the books (Kate is my favorite series) and keeping up with the blog! Thank you so much for all that you do! 🙂
Faith H says
Thank you for the chance! I’m most looking forward to moving closer to my parents. We moved because of the military & now that we are out I can’t wait to be able to see my parents more than every couple years.
LEILI ABRIOUX says
For 2021, I just want Liam, my Sister baby born at 4,5 month, to be ok forever and ever .
Jessica says
What am I most looking forward to in 2021? Getting the Covid-19 vaccine! 2020 was awful for my entire family. It seemed one bad thing after another happened. I was so happy to see the end of 2020 because I’m hoping that 2021 brings up some much needed good luck. The vaccine would also help bring a much needed sense of normalcy back. My family has experienced a myriad of health problems and other bad luck. Doing something fun like going to the beach or (dare I dream?) going out to eat at a restaurant would be fantastic. Also, well essential for now, masks are hard to breathe in!
Kat Fabre says
Looking forward to sharing covid survival stories, laughter, good food and drinks with friends in 2021. I can’t complain as I have been able to spend a year with my daughter, but it would be nice I am sure for her to spend less time with me 🙂
Sarah says
I’m definitely looking forward to Blood Heir but honestly struggling to find anything in my life right now that I have to look forward to in 2021, hopefully a job and safe place to live will be in my future. But I truly hope you have a great 2021!
Christy Sullivan says
I’m looking forward to being able to travel, we have a Monsters of Rock beach party in Punta Cana scheduled in May and I’m praying it doesn’t get canceled.

I’m most looking forward to getting a vaccine and hugging all my friends again! And finally feeling comfortable going to browse bookstores in person again :).

Arunima says
I am from India so I don’t think I’ll be eligible but still. I am looking forward to go back to my college and meet all my friends. Quarantine has been a terrible phase for me, having to live in a toxic and abusive household. So I can’t wait to leave this place and go back to the people who make me happy. 🙂
Isabella Sims says
I’m most looking forward to getting my GED. Next step SATs!
Denese Kimber says
I hope we see Covid 19 infection rates drop and resulting deaths as well:'(. Then, maybe, we can see a return to normal.
kitkat9000 says
I’m looking forward to being able to see my nephew again. To be able to take him to/pick him up from school, dining out with my family and being able to gather with my friends. All the birthdays we celebrate take place in the last half of the year, so they were all scrapped.
Most importantly, I’m hoping that my aging parents can get vaccinated soon for their own protection, or at least that I do so in order to keep them from getting it from my doing the weekly shop.
Liz Walsh says
I’m looking forward to being able to meet people and make new friends! I moved from the College Station, Texas to northern Alberta, Canada for work (my first big girl job!) in Feb of 2020. While it was perfect timing in many ways, it is difficult to make new friends and meet new people during a pandemic. All of my family, other than my canine sidekick Stella, is in the US. I can’t wait to meet and make new friends in 2021!!
Here is a mandatory Stella pic because I love pet pics, so maybe others might enjoy too. The weather change has been a surprise for her, hahaha.
(By the way, your books were a bright spot of sanity for me in 2020.)

I am looking forward to more people showing their better sides. I hope to se people giving grace and kindness to those around them, because everyone is struggling right now. And I am so grateful for your books bringing me a way to survive and thrive through the struggles, myself, each and every day! Thank you!
Amy says
2020 was such a hard and heavy year that feels like it lasted a decade! I am looking forward to so much. By my top are having my little brothers be in a better place after we lost our dad few weeks ago. Being able to travel again so I can see my niece who is 14 month now and I haven’t been able to see her in person yet because of covid. Hopefully seeing real change in addressing the injustices in the USA! Having my student flourish in this unprecedented school year! Overall just looking forward to a better year and definitely always great books to read from favorite authors 🙂

I am looking for meeting my family and grandparents. Sometimes I visit my grandparents but I stay outside while they stay on the balcony. I miss them so much. My grandpa has Alzheimer’s and it’s really hard when he didn’t recognise me and I really really want to just hug him so bad…
Bodil says
Mostly I just look forward to being able to hug my kids again.
I got a tiny cough on december 30th, got tested the next day, and happy new year! I started the new year way more positive than I would have liked… This is the first day that things are starting to get a little better instead of worse. Hopefully I can tacklehug my girls again real soon! 🙂

Small Magic’s Giveaway:
Hello and what a lovely idea for sharing and promoting positivity into the new year. I’m sure I’m not alone in looking forward to the time when I can spend time with my parents, family, and friends. I can’t wait for the day I can safely hold them close to me again! ????
Wishing everyone health, wellness, and the promise of better things to come in 2021!
