Hi everyone, Mod R here with fabulous news!
The Graphic Audio adaptation of Clean Sweep, the first volume of the Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews, has been nominated for an Audie award in the Best Audio Drama category!
The Audie Awards are granted each year by the Audio Publishers Association to honor the best titles in audio-publishing and spoken word entertainment. In layman’s terms, it’s the audiobook Oscars and it’s a Very Big Deal.
Massive congratulations to Nora Achrati & team at Graphic Audio and of course, to Ilona and Gordon!
Clean Sweep is in august company in its category, alongside other finalist productions like 1984 adapted by Storytel and Good Omens produced by Harper Audio. This is an amazing achievement and so well deserved for the wonderful production of the book we all love. Horde, cross fingers!
For those who are new and might have questions, Graphic Audio produce full-cast dramatised adaptations of books, with each character being interpreted by a different actor. Think old timey radio dramas, complete with soundtrack and sound effects. Their tagline is “A movie in your mind” and boy, do they deliver!
GA have so far adapted the first 5 stories in the Innkeeper Chronicles series (you can listen to samples on each of the title pages) and have purchased the rights to adapt the Kate Daniels series! Magic Bites will be released in April and is available for preorder on the Graphic Audio website and most 3rd party audio retailers.
Look at me being almost professional for a whole post hehe. Now to break out the celebratory Mello Yello and Funyuns and SQUEE!

Wow! That is fantastic news!
I was introduced to Graphic Audio through the Innkeeper Chronicles and now I buy GA versions for Overdrive whenever I can find them.
Congratulations!
Michael Wilber says
I was wondering if the latest installment of the sweep series was going to get the graphic audio treatment as well?
Moderator R says
GA has not yet purchased the rights, so it’s not on their schedule, but they are full steam ahead Kate Daniels at the moment so I wouldn’t worry!
BrendaJ says
I’ve never used audio books because I couldn’t hear them. But thanks to my new cochlear implant I’d love to try it. I have an iPad and I’m wondering is this the selection I should make?
“Listen with Access App Only (Apple iOS & Android) $0.00”
Thanks,
Brenda
Moderator R says
If you want to download the proprietary Graphic Audio app, yes ????. More information on it can be found here https://ilona-andrews.com/2022/graphic-audio-of-clean-sweep/
The books are also available on other audio retailers now however, just look for the “dramatised adaptation” version.
BrendaJ says
Thanks so much! So the one I checked is an app that only works with Graphic Audio products. I didn’t realize other retailers also carried it. I’ll check that out. This is all fun and exciting new stuff to me.
Thanks again.

Congratulations to both House Andrews for creating the story and Congratulations to Graphic Audio for making the story a “movie for the mind” and winning an AWARD.

Congratulations! I had Funyuns for lunch with a sandwich. No Mellow Yellow since I am off caffeinated soda.
I guess I was channeling my inner Caldenia. 😀
Moderator R says
I love channelling Caldenia! 😀
Arezoo says
Congratulations and hopefully the newest book will also get adapted soon. Fingers crossed. I have the first four playing pretty much on repeat for me. They are my go to books when I need something fun to listen to while I work. It is truly well deserved that the first instalment is nominated. ????

Siobhan says
Congratulations!
Sherri says
Congrats on the Audie nomination. The folks at GA did a first-rate job.
I’m not usually a fan of anything with multiple narrators as there are so many (many) ways they can fail. The GA Innkeepers are AMAZING and well worth the $!
I’ve already ordered Magic Bites and am so excited about it.
Karen says
woohoo!! so ooo well deserved!!
EarlineM says
Awesome!!! I’ve loved listening to the GA “movies”.
Barbara Swanson says
I’ve never listened to an audio book, being very visually dependent to intake information–but I think I need to give this a try.
Congratulations!
Amber says
If your library does Hoopla try through there. Graphic Audio has sold most of its collection to that service.
Breann says
I never cared for audio books before, but the GA ones changed my mind! I LOOOOOOOOVE them! I definitely recommend giving them a try!

Congratulations! What an amazing honor and its absolutely clear the amount of love, collaboration and work that went into it!
Stacey says
this title is so deserving of the award. every single voice actor was perfectly cast, in my opinion, and dragged me into the BDH to stay!
(in fact I had read some of hidden legacy and loved it but didn’t know it was the same authors until much later ????)
njb says
Well, many many congrats to GA artists on their nomination and to HA for creating the story that might give them a win (and we hope lots of publicity to bring in more readers). Got to have a good story to bring out the best in the narrators!
Melissa says
+1

oh my word! I have never liked audio books with their boring monotone voices. But you just made a convert when I listened to a sample of Clean Sweep. This is my favorite series in book form and now I simply must have the audios! Kudos!

Yay! I love the job the GA folks did with all of the Innkeeper stories so far.
Absolutely can’t wait for KD on GA!!!
Kim says
Hurray! So excited for them!
I’ve given a lot of $$ to GA since listening to Clean Sweep. Love their adaptations!
(Highly recommend Gunnie Rose by Charlaine Harris and World of the Lupi by Eileen Wilks, if anyone cares)
Brenda says
So loving World of the Lupi right now after falling down the Graphic Audio rabbit hole with Clean Sweep!!
Breann says
I’m a bit ambivalent on the book version of Gunnie Rose, but I’m on the lookout for another series so I’ll go give the sample a listen, but I’m definitely checking out the other one you recommended! Thanks!
Sheridan Skinner says
Congratulations! So exciting!
Chele says
Oh my goddess! How fitting, this was even better via graphic audio than when I read it!!

Waiting (im)patiently for the upcoming audio releases this year!

Terrie C says
Wow, well deserved. Glad you are getting extra attention because I think everyone should read and hear your books.
Debi Ennis Binder says
I have all 5 Innkeeper GA books and pre-ordered the first Kate book. There’s something magical about hearing them performed, almost like the old-time radio shows. I recommend them for anyone who loves the IA books!
Rhonda says
well deserved. I have all 5 of the Innkeepers on graphic audio and am on tenterhooks waiting for Sweep of the Heart.
The team at Graphic Audio and House Andrews is the penultimate combination.
Cathy Besemer says
Clean Sweep was my first graphic audio novel. Now I’m hooked. Congratulations!!
Michelle says
Congratulations! The nomination is so well deserved! I was never into audiobooks, but when I listened to GA’s adaptation of Clean Sweep, I was hooked! Wonderful all around.
AP says
Congratulations and good luck to HA and GA!????
I love all the adaptations they’ve done of the Innkeeper books and can’t wait for more and of course KATE!!! HA did great in choosing the right voice actors for each character.
Don’t take away my BDH card but I was a huge fan of the Good Omens adaptation – both the audio and televised versions. GO is in 2 categories, one of which includes CS, so hopefully CS wins one and GO wins the other.????
GA sucked me in so I now have the Vatta series by Elizabeth Moon – well done there too IMHO.
Cathy says
Love the Vatta series too!
Claudia says
I first heard of Graphic Audio when they started to do the Innkeeper series, and they have absolutely spoiled me for other audiobooks — they do an amazing job creating a “movie in your mind” — and I’ve started buying their audiobooks for other writers. (Most recently the Midnight, Texas series by Charlaine Harris.) I hope they win the Audie, because it’s richly deserved!
Dawn Emerson says
Here, I will SQUEE along with you!!
wingednike says
Congrats! I love the GA versions of the Inn Keeper series. I listened to it while driving a van full of people to my church’s field trip to Wyoming.
Kris says
I have loved all of the GA versions. I treat them like my favorite TV shows and listen to them often. I’m so glad the recording and the authors are being recognized!
