I’m a bit late, but I like a song from a wwe wrestler, yes I’m a wwe fan, anyways is more instrumental and I love it, the wrestler himself is Japanese so maybe the song would fit an Oriental character?     • Hi Lily, on a side note I learned this one myself recently: the term Oriental is viewed as racist by the Asian community when used to describe people. I thought you might want to be aware of that.

      I had seven different folks, complaining/crying/yelling at me when a work translation project had that word show up in a foreign project the company I was working for at the time was representing.

      • You learn new layers of political correctness every day. Each time I have to wrap my brain around it. This time it’s hard because I always equated “oriental” with a direction; the Orient is the East, the Occident is the West. So to me, an oriental is a person from the east, or from Asia. It’s about as racist as saying a person from Montana is a Northerner. Not trying to be argumentative, just trying to explain why something like this comes out of left field for me.

  4. Someone has already mentioned the Finnish group Nightwish. I would make another recommendation: Song of Myself on their album Imaginaerum. I like the orchestral/choral version but excellent female vocalist on the song version. Also Last Ride of the Day on the same album. Very stirring. Again, there is a vocal or orchestral/choral version. Hope this helps.

  6. If you want something with words how about AC/DC? Like Back in Black, Dirty Deeds done dirt cheap. If you would like a song for Julie you could try Teenagers by My Chemical Romance. Also if you would like something more mellow with no words you might like to check out Santana.

  8. Mad Max: Fury Road has a great soundtrack, along with any of the Lord of the Rings ones. Game of Thrones also has some great stuff, really dramatic and cinematic, and the main theme of Westworld is one of my favorites. Avatar, Wonder Woman, and Gladiator are some other good ones.

    It makes me think of someone that has grown and changed. She has lost people and gain others and it has taken a toll on her. This song would be more the calm before the storm.

  19. Depends on the type of day; but my favorites are anything by Coldplay and Empire of the Sun-Walking on a Dream.

    Other days it’s anything by Korn, Creed, and Disturbed version of Sound of Silence.

  20. Jesper Kyd is my go to while playing WoW; I especially like the Assassin’s Creed soundtrack that Jesper composed. He’s done quite a few soundtracks for games. Also, the soundtrack from Bloodborne is great … kinda spooky but good.

  25. Don’t know if anyone has suggested this one or not…”March of Cambreadth” written and performed by Heather Alexander. Source of the immortal line ‘How many of them can we make die?’ …(usually bellowed in echo by the audience!)
    Most war/warrior songs are about battles and charging forward…”March” is a DEFENDER’S song…’guard your women and children well–send these bastards back to hell–we’ll teach them the ways of war–and they won’t come here anymore.
    Play it once…then crank up the volume, and play it again.

  31. I’m a professional songwriter and wrote this song after reading Magic Breaks. Inspired by Kate meeting Semiramis in Mishmar, the song is written from a Matriarch’s pov and tells the story of a mother’s love for her son, his eventual betrayal, and her promised vengeance.

    Not hard rock by little people. Think Fili and Kili with an extremely loud garage band.

    It’s surprisingly well done for being glorified Tolkien filk. Even if it doesn’t quite fit, it’s good for a giggle, and one can always use more of those.

  35. Interesting Ilona Andrews. I personally am a classical music person so I am always delighted when I run across classical music in a different genre. If you are into video game music maybe Dungeon Siege soundtrack or Age of Empires soundtracks would be helpful. I do not know about the latest as my wonderful new and improved [heavy nasty sarcasm] win10 has issues. I know you would think a Microsoft product would work with Microsoft products but I can tell you it is not so.
    That music in the new Wonder Woman movie is Strauss. I love John Williams movie music as well as Henry Mancini. A lot of the older Disney movies have classical music ie Bald Mountain from Escape to Witch Mountain– the original not the new and improved movie.
    In new age music there are a number of choices. I love Enya as do the dogs. Canadian Brass and Kenny G and Yanni.
