    • I can’t help but think she might be doing some of it to say ‘suck it’ to the people who say she has to have a ‘prime’ wedding. The Baylors are really powerful and everyone looks down on them. She might also be messing with her sisters if they’re trying to micro-manage her. That’s what I would do, “oh you say I can’t have this, well guess what I want worse now!”

  29. Having planned my own wedding with too much input from meddlers who would insist on something but wouldn’t follow through with their own tasks, I can completely relate. I imagine Catalina’s stress levels will go through the roof. This will be such a fun read.

    I’m with everyone else at being simultaneously awed at the writing pace planned for the next year and anxious about the vacation time that should also be scheduled.

  34. Most blues go fine with almost anything but orange. I don’t see that it clashes enough to worry about. Of course, it’s been a long time since I was a teenager or read bridal magazines like bibles.

  44. brilliant, lovely, cannot wait. this is my most favourite series of yours I love it and am so happy it is making its comeback. someone mentioned the different voice for Catalina, it is very evident but amazing at the same time, she always reminds me of a spiritual, calm and collected young person. happy wkend to you and yours and relaxation and plotting for the comeback to JF’s amended cover!!!

  45. Ha! I can’t imagine planning a big, detailed laden wedding. My wedding had 15 guests, my bouquet was carnations I bought that morning. My dress was $350. It seems like a lot of drama – but toss in the writing skills of the Author Lords and it will be a great read!

    • Right there with you! My total wedding party (including bride and groom) was 12, I made my own brooch bouquet, bought my ex-display skirt and corset for less than £100, had the ceremony in a tiny little fairytale folly, and arranged it in less than 3 months. And even now, some of the guests tell other people that it was the best wedding they’d ever been too ?

    I just read Wildfire again , just for the ferret heist.
    But this time reading, I think there is something more to Augustine, hints of foreshadowing. Something else. A possible romance?

    I want to compliment you on your description of children, they are always individuals, with intelligence, and not afraid to speak their mind.
    They are not cute accessories, or would be victims.
    And so I wait for more SOTB. ?.

  48. Gosh! The bridal bouquet!!!

    I remember my sister’s wedding day! My sister had a melt down when she saw that the flowers in her bouquet was not what she specifically ordered, the combination lacked the size she wanted! Good thing the wedding planner had the florist contract with her and fixed the problem after reading her the stipulations in the contract. While I had to make sure that my sister’s eyes were not puffy from the crying jag!
