Sadly, one good thing about menopause, at least for me when hormones were major (tho not solely) triggers.
Look forward to Maturity (sounds better than “getting older”)
That was a joke bc getting older is still a blessing. You get more comfortable giving your opinions and thinking that spandex and elastic waistbands and really comfortable shoes are the bestest.
Jeansays
Especially comfortable shoes!!????????????????
kommiesmomsays
Getting older beats the heck out of the only other option. I was also happy to hit menopause, though my reason was much shallower. My skin finally stopped breaking out. I’m not sure that the trade was an excellent one, since my dyslexia got worse, and I’m having some painful arthritic symptoms. But I’ll take it.

Sorry for laughing as hard as I am, but, you did post these! Ah, may you feel better VERY soon. Wonky voices are sucky.

Excellent. Lifted my spirits. In our joint they saturate agriculture foir miles around with aerial spraying of SALT WATER ++++chemicals to cause leaves to die and fall off. My mother’s Irish farm remedy was shots of lemon juice (no alcohol). I’ve used it, but if you have acid reflux problems, maybe better to do lemon juice with hot water. (It’s sort of like tea.) Sometimes a dance break is helpful; five minutes or so twice a day to boogie and bop to your favorite tunes. (Endorphins to chase away the “crud blues”.) Hope you are feeling better soon!☕☕

I am a soprano. I still sound like a teenager. My cats and dogs barely listen to me. My vet told me I have to drop my voice to get any respect from my cats. And that never works. But when I get sick ,my voice drops to an alto. It’s deep and raspy . I love it. I finally sound grown up. Get well soon. My mom always gargled w warm salt water. And tea with honey. Watch the princess bride. I love old movies like “Bringing up baby w Cary Grant.” Or “North by northwest.”
Julessays
I resemble this remark. I am 44. The cat doesn’t listen to me, either.
kommiesmomsays
Cats listen, they just don’t obey. Obnoxious beasties – but we love them anyway.
These days, I’m a contralto, sliding toward baritone. (Kid you not, the tenor parts are too high for me to match when I sing along.) It doesn’t help with cats, though the dogs might be a bit more obedient if you can sound the a drill sergeant.
Catloversays
Ye gods! Maybe downgrade to eloquent eyes or sign language instead of talking. Just a suggestion to those of you with the crud. It usually takes a day or two before I remember this myself, but after brushing my teeth I dip my toothbrush in the original Brown Listerine and let dry so I stop reinfecting myself and change my drinking glass every day.
I used to get a tooth infection every 3-4 months due to recedeing gums and my son told me what worked for him. Swish with original Brown Listerine daily, nearly peeled the skin off my tongue straight so I diluted it about a third with water. I haven’t had an infection for least six years! The other flavors did not work for him, just the original so that’s what I’ve stayed with. Feel better everyone!
Alicosays
A massage teacher once shared that her Russian grandmother always went out and got KIJAFA CHERRY WINE anytime any of her grandchildren had a cough and made them drink a glass. Something about cherries being a natural expectorant. According to her, it was amazingly effective. There’s a reason why cough syrups are cherry flavored. Get well soon. ????????

I heard a story of a large man with a slight speech impediment and an unusual tone to his voice. He worked as a security guard. Someone suggested he try voice work.
