This is the second volume of Innkeeper Chronicles Collector Editions coming to you from Subterranean. It includes Sweep of the Blade, Sweep with Me, and the unfinished short Gerard and Helen meet.

The Innkeeper books mean SO much to me and have gotten me through some very dark times. I castigate myself for not having the budget to purchase the first volume every time it’s mentioned😬
I’m going to jump thru all the hoops to make sure I manage volume 2, at least!

I am so mad I wasn’t able to afford vol 1 when it released. I even check ABE and other places trying to finds a reasonably priced copy from time to time. Oh well at least I can buy vol 2!! This looks absolutely gorgeous and can’t wait to add it to my collection!
I have Innkeeper Volume 1 but not Small Magics.
That I don’t have access to the pre-order volume 2 makes me very unhappy.
I can see their logic about the most recent purchase from the author, but why not also include the people that bought Volume 1 in the pre-order as well?
That makes no sense and to me shows great disrespect (by Subterranean Press) to their customers.
They are saying that they are ok with people who bought volume 1 and want volume 2, but won’t get volume 2 because of their policy. It’s ok that their collection be incomplete. That they are untrustworthy.
I fell like Subterranean Press just spat in my face and I’ll be honest, makes me not want to do business with Subterranean Press.
Your collection will not be incomplete. I’ve purchased SubPress many times when I didn’t have preorder exclusivity and managed to get a copy without trouble. They have *never* sold out in the preorder exclusive period.
For context, Small Magics stayed in their store for years. It only sold out after a long time and only when it was heavily discounted. You’re not going to have trouble getting Innkeeper Vol. 2 if you purchase it the exact day/time of general sale. A lot of people who got Small Magics won’t want to buy Innkeeper, the same way that people who bought Kinsmen didn’t want to buy Small Magics.
The policy is due to 1) ease of logistics and 2) it’s what the majority of their customers prefer when asked. I understand it’s annoying to get preorder period, but there’s no scenario where you won’t get Volume 2 (unless you choose not to purchase it).

They usually don’t announce the exact date until the preorder period ends (usually people have 3 weeks to preorder). They post the general sale date in the newsletter, but I’m sure that Ilona will also post it on the blog.
My best guess is July or early August.
We will ofc announce it on the blog and everywhere when we know exact date!

Decisions, Decisions. All of Ilona Andrews books got me through some dark times and my comfort reads, I do especially love Inkeeper, so I guess I will be getting it. I wish Sweep of the Heart was included and that probably deserves its own book for all of the art

I bought Small Magics from Subterranean Press. I like the cover for the Innkeeper Volume 2. Hopefully there are prints of Arland, Maud, and Ilemina throughout the book.

I can’t wait to add this to all your other Subterranean Press editions on my shelf.
I’m glad to see that it probably won’t sell out in the preorder window though. I ordered all of your previous books directly from them (I still have my email confirmations!) but I hen I log into my account it says I’ve never placed any orders which is weird.
I’ve forwarded my Small Magics order confirmation to the email address you gave so hopefully they’ll sort out letting me order in the exclusive window but if not I’ll be on the website as soon as the main order window opens!
I’m in the same boat re Small Magics except that I don’t have the email confirmation as once I receive them I delete the email – live and learn. I’ve got the book though. Hoping that I’ll get an email from them about it.

They made a new website a while back and orders from before weren’t transferred to the new website. In my experience, they have the old orders in their system and put you on the pre-order list despite that. If not, contact them and ask, it shouldn’t be an issue.
I just received my pre-order e-mail from Subterranean Press earlier this morning. I noticed in the e-mail they mention the “book number” for Small Magics. I was thinking “what book number for Small Magics?” and got the book from my bookcase. Underneath Ilona and Gordon’s signatures, there is a book number out of 1,000. So I put that in under the comments section while pre-ordering.
The e-mail you gave Subterranean Press and your password are all you need to get into the pre-order page.

Ah, I can well imagine! Knowing the background of how IA came up with that law and its name, I smile every time I come across it in a reread – and that’s just random me, so I can’t imagine how chuffed you, as the source, would be! Eternal bragging rights 😉
Do we know if they will reprint volume 1? Or any of your other titles? I only heard of Subterranean recently and would love to be able to buy the other titles.
They don’t usual reprint, because exclusivity is part of the deal. But Subterranean Press is a different company, so I can’t speak for them. There is an email address above so you can ask them directly. 🙂
I was out on the Subterranean Press site yesterday. If you search under “Ilona Andrews”, it looks like volume 1 is still available to buy. I also saw Small Magics and the Kinsmen series out there.

I’m confused. What is this? I have bought paperbacks from Amazon UK. Then kindle editions from Amazon UK. Including Kate Daniels 1-10, other KD novellas (inc small magics), Innkeeper, Edge novels, hidden legacy, etc
Due to not being social media aware or knowing about this site until a year ago does this mean I cannot buy this?
(And is this a paperback or kindle or some other format I’m unfamiliar with)

These are fancy collector editions with illustrations. They are more expensive than usual hardback, so people buy them as keepsakes. Each of these books is signed and numbered and only a small amount is printed. Once they are sold out, they are gone forever.
If you just want the story, these books do not contain any new material. You are not missing out.
If you would like to purchase one, once the exclusive preorder period is over, they will be available for general preorder. They are printing 1,000 so there will be plenty of copies available.
I so love my copy of Small Magics… It sits very prettily on my keeper shelf.
I laughed when I read SandyH’s comment that she “ is old and need to clear out some books” as my husband of 50 plus years and I are in the process of downsizing to a smaller more easily managed home and at the moment I have boxes of books everywhere and have spent hours working out how to fit my collection of books into the new home! I am trying to be ruthless but it’s so hard to say goodbye to well loved friends. However I won’t be culling my core collection which includes everything written by Ilona Andrews. And I’m sure there is room for a beautiful Subterranean edition of one of my favourite series.
Really excited about this second volume! My family collects special editions and the first inkeeper volume is one of my favorites. The dark navy and inside print is just gorgeous and the right amount of whimsy.
Subterranean quality for special editions is fantastic (you can really tell the difference in paper quality).

Are these new stories? Is the Gerard and Helen story the same one as in the regular print books? This doesn’t go any further than the selling of the house, right? If it is, then I am very sorry that I can’t get in on the preorder. Sad face injected here. (Not sure how to do emojis on a keyboard at a computer)
Hi Lora, these are not new stories 🙂 . All the content is as previously released, because House Andrews wanted everyone to have fair access to new content, not be discouraged by the price of a special edition (as gorgeous as this is going to be).

I’ve said it before, I say it again. I love Maud. I love that she is someone who loved, lost, and found love again with someone who accepted all of her. Her past, her independence, and extends that love to her child. Life is messy for some.

I have collected every single collectors edition that you have published! The first innkeeper column was tough to track down, but it now sits proudly on my shelf! As this one will also when it comes out!! Thank you for these editions, since I love beautiful books. The books from Arcane Society are truly beautiful. You really are my favorite authors!
I’m really looking forward to this, and I must admit I’m rather glad it’s only two novels this time. The first volume is really thick and heavy with three and not so comfortable to read as a result. I’m very happy about this release – thank you for doing these collector’s editions with Subterranean Press or Arcane Society.

Love Innkeeper series and despite extensive internet stalking, have not managed to get the collectors edition still!
