On April 1st, 2015, we’ve made an April Fools post. We thought we were being quite clever. Below are the contents of that post.
The announcements just keep on coming.
So without further ado, here is the cover and blurb. Click to enlarge.
Hugh d’Ambray, Preceptor of the Iron Dogs, Warlord of the Builder of Towers, bowed to only one man. Now his immortal, nearly omnipotent master is gone and Hugh must carve a new place for himself and his people in the post-apocalyptic world where magic comes and goes in waves. With former allies ready to tear him apart, Hugh is forced to make alliances to preserve the Order of Iron Dogs, warriors who would follow him anywhere.
Serafina Price is the head witch of the Midwestern Covens. She is powerful, devious, and smart. Her people think she is a goddess, her enemies call her Snake. Tasked with protection of her people, she is trapped between the magical heavy weights about to collide and plunge the entire region into war that human authorities have no power to stop. Desperate to preserve the covens, she would accept help from the devil himself.
They detest each other, yet they need each other to survive. How can two people famous for betraying their former allies cement their agreement without a shadow of a doubt?
They marry.
We hope you will enjoy this new look into the mind of Hugh d’Ambray. I just got an awesome quote on this from Lorna Sterling, who writes fantastic pirate-themed romances.
“Magnificent! He is a true Romance Hero!”
Lorna Sterling
E of bookpushers would like to add, “Finally we were able to see the full extent of Hugh d’Ambray’s passion, not just his skill with a blade. It was well worth the decades long wait!”
Then there were comments.
I HATE April’s fool’s! I got so frickin’ excited!
but but but…its an amazing idea!!!!!! I wanna read this ?
I don’t think it’s an April Fools’s prank. I think it’s real because it’s on Goodreads https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25266707-warlord-s-price?from_search=true
Nooo! It’s not real!? How can this be? …
I’d love to see you marry Hugh off to someone he totally hates
I would totally buy this book.
Shut up and take my money!!!!!
Then we got an email from a slightly confused librarian. One of the library visitors requested the book. The librarian realized that is was a joke and informed the patron that this was an April Fool’s spoof, to which the patron apparently replied, “If we request it enough, they will write it.”
It worked.
We are proud to announce IRON AND MAGIC, the first book in Hugh d’Ambray series. Unfortunately we can’t show you the cover, because we don’t have the preorder link up due to circumstances beyond our control – thanks, Texas thunderstorms – but we can taunt you with the cover and this awesome wallpaper we can’t show you yet.
We do have something for you today, however.
We have a release date.
6/26/18
We have a book blurb.
No day is ordinary in a world where Technology and Magic compete for supremacy…But no matter which force is winning, in the apocalypse, a sword will always work.
Hugh d’Ambray, Preceptor of the Iron Dogs, Warlord of the Builder of Towers, served only one man. Now his immortal, nearly omnipotent master has cast him aside. Hugh is a shadow of the warrior he was, but when he learns that the Iron Dogs, soldiers who would follow him anywhere, are being hunted down and murdered, he must make a choice: to fade away or to be the leader he was born to be. Hugh knows he must carve a new place for himself and his people, but they have no money, no shelter, and no food, and the necromancers are coming. Fast.
Elara Harper is a creature who should not exist. Her enemies call her Abomination; her people call her White Lady. Tasked with their protection, she’s trapped between the magical heavyweights about to collide and plunge the state of Kentucky into a war that humans have no power to stop. Desperate to shield her people and their simple way of life, she would accept help from the devil himself—and Hugh d’Ambray might qualify.
Hugh needs a base, Elara needs soldiers. Both are infamous for betraying their allies, so how can they create a believable alliance to meet the challenge of their enemies?
As the prophet says: “It is better to marry than to burn.”
Hugh and Elara may do both.
And… We have a contest.
We need a series name for Hugh and Elara’s books.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to read through the Giant Excerpt on this page and return here with a suggestion for the series name. Ideally, it should mention both Hugh and Elara somehow and nod at the genre of Urban Fantasy. For example, The Iron Dogs was rejected because it doesn’t indicate Elara. The Witch and the Warlord was rejected because Elara isn’t exactly and witch and the series name is too fantasy.
So please leave your suggestions in the comments. If you like the suggestion someone made, please reply to it with +1 so we’ll know which suggestions are popular.
The contest will last until Wednesday 04/04/2018, and the winner will receive a signed copy of IRON AND MAGIC and will be mentioned in Acknowledgements for bragging rights. They can also choose to read an advance copy, but we are not doing paper for those, so it would be an ebook.
Happy April Fool’s Day!
I’m so happy this is a thing. You guys are awesome.
Can’t wait to pre-order the new book. Found this awesome anouncement when haunting the website for the next chapter of sweep of the blade!
The Lady’s Warlord.
It references both of them but also plays on the usual The ’s titles and implies fantasy or period-bend. He’s also the warlord that finds shelter in her base and fights for her if I got it right? I am SO happy this is being written- thank you!

My favorite comment was “shut up and take my money”
I would totally read this book. I might spend a bit of time pondering the ridiculousness of it. I’d throughly enjoy reading it all the same.
I’m going to non-ironically suggest that at least the informal title of this series should actually be “Shut up and take my money”.

The first book in Hugh d’Ambray series? Is this another April Fool’s joke or is there really a possibility of more KD world books on the horizon? ?
In addition to IRON AND MAGIC that is ?
A War’s Love
Dumd question I know but pre order this once first and then Kate right? One this June and then one this August?
The Serpent’s Sword

Some suggestions
A Convenient Match
The Exiled’s Lady
The Warlords Hope
Without reading the excerpt but after reading the blurb. I had the name ‘Blood and Magic’ pop into my head. I’ll see what I can think of when I get time to read the excerpt.
Totally blanked on a title. Just waiting for the chance to pre order
“…the first book in Hugh d’Ambray series…”
I really hope this isn’t an April Fools joke, because this is The Best. (If it is… well, okay, it probably won’t get past hysterical laughter, I’ve got stuff to do. But I will be at least a little crushed!)
Off to train, think, and clean my house! (I took time off to do things like laundry and cleaning my house! It is very exciting! And then a friend will be over for her annual escaping her family part of her Passover visit, and we can chat and do comparative family drama. It will be highly entertaining.)
I think they learned not to tease the BDH on April 1st anymore 🙂
The White Iron Series? She’s known as the White Lady. Iron Dogs. Title of the book is Iron and Magic. Then again if you aren’t planning on using the word Iron in other titles it might not work.

The White Lady’s Warlord
Probably a little too fantasy but the damn thing got stuck in my head
Irons’ blood
Iron Will series.
I. cannot. wait.
Sounds fun. I’ll have to think a while. Right now it’s lots of friends, family, and sugar highs. Love Easter ?.
The Lord and Lady Warriors? Still too fantasy. Survival between rivals?
I don’t know if this is too fantasy but Preceptor and Lady?
I love love the excerpt! I can’t wait for the actual book!
+1
Iron blood
My suggestions are:
Outcasts’ Alliance series.
Swords and Sworn Allegience series
Traitors United series
Citadel: White Lady, Iron Dog
Warlord and lady arise
This is going to sound ungrateful but I really hoped for innkeeper. My head is totally in that world right now. I’m just not able to switch to Hugh.
I hope you guys have better luck with office and thanks for all the goodies.
Twisted Vows
Iron Vows
Vow of War
Going with other takes on the “Vow series”. (Because of their marriage vows)
Vows of flame
Vows of fire
Vows of hell
Because the blurb suggests they could both burn for this
Or another take on marriage concept
“Till death do we part” series. “I have a feeling they may be wishing for the others death for a while. Hehe
‘After Choices End’? (Since neither have a choice in the matter?)
If the Enemy of my Enemy is my friend, and both are against Roland/Golden Legion how about
‘Unwilling Allies’
or
‘Forced Allies’?
‘The Traitors’ Need
‘Traitor’s Needs’
‘Traitors’ Choice’-
as both could be considered ‘traitors’ if they constantly betray those who rely on them and you could work in all sorts of innuendo if needed/desired
And finally, thinking of the old ‘a scorpion and a frog wanted to cross a river’ but in this context you have two scorpions –
‘The Nature of Scorpions’;
‘Scorpion’s Choice’
Brilliant beginning to the book though (the extract I mean!)
Betrayer’s War
Magic and Mayhem
Kentucky Derby
Kentucky Derby totally made me lol!
The lady’s Dog
I. Can’t. Wait!
And what about The White Shadow series ?
did you say SERIES?!?!!!!!!!!! meaning more than 1 book!!!!!!!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love hugh, i want to have his babies!!!
The Rock and The Hard Place.
Words cannot express my glee. Thank you SO much.
The Peerless
The Story of the Peerless
(e.g. story of both Hugh and Elara’s people and their reputations are beyond compare!)
White Warlord’s Dogs
Preceptor’s White Lady
White Mistress and the Iron Dogs
I’m almost afraid to post this, but am I the only one who hates Hugh with a white-hot passion? I was so happy when I thought he was dead for a few pages. I am sure that the Andrews team will win me over (so mightily skilled are they) but it’s going to take some doing.
I really did not like his character either,,, to the point where I probably won’t read his book.
I’ll buy it because I want the Andrews to write lots of books, and that won’t happen if we don’t buy their books.
This didn’t sound nearly as stupid when I was thinking it as it does when I see it in print. Heavy sigh.
You don’t have to like him or buy the book. 🙂 Not every books will appeal to everyone and Hugh is a villain, heh.
But a villain we love to hate…..AND it is Easter which reminds us that everyone is redeemable ?
I envisage Ilona and Gordon dipping into the comments and alternatively laughing their heads off and then shaking them as we get VERY excited!
I used to feel the same too.. But after reading the 3 chapters I’m conflicted..
Agreed.
Of course we hated Hugh…. as she points out, he’s a villain. Of course people change, and they do hint at least some of the villainy may have been a result of his connection to Roland, rather than innate character. So there’s hope.
I. Cannot. Wait.
She’s not exactly a witch, but she has magic? Hmmm… What about this:
The Caster and the Outcast
+1
White Shadow
White Ladys Sword
Lady’s Sword
I like White Shadow.
Traitor’s Alliance?
The Abandoned
Magic Redeemed
Though I also agree with NSum. Iron & Magic would be a perfect series name.
+1
Preceptor and Power
The White Lady’s War Dogs.
OMG! I CAN’T WAIT TO READ!
Preceptor and Power. I thought we were supposed to comment on the except, so I’m reposting here.
Desperate Magic
Metal & Magic
Looking forward to whatever the new series is called.
Iron and Blood / Iron and Earth (There was mention of nature magic) / Iron and Sacrifice / Iron and Steel / Traitors’ War
I suck at this game. I feel like since it starts with a union the series name should be two parts (something and something) for her and him. Maybe you’ve just put that in my head with the title. I like the idea of ‘Iron’ in the name somewhere, I feel I don’t really know enough about Elara yet to be much help, she seems pretty cool though and interestingly powerful from the small excerpt I can’t wait to read the whole thing!
I’d forgotten it was an April Fool’s joke. So impressed that the new blurb is riffing off that one too. Cool that it’s a series – I was wondering what you were getting into next. If it’s another April Fool’s joke [insert suitable threat here].

Not sure where my reply post went! Posting again! I agree with Iron and Magic works as the series name. I had to reread the blog post a couple times because I kept thinking Iron and Magic was the series name, not the book.
Iron Covenant I think really works especiallly as the first book name. Iron Covenant works on so many levels since the basis of their relationship is on this agreement/ covenant and I had initially thought of it since Coven which fits the nod to fantasy and Elara’s coven. Plus it’s not as blatant Elara than Hugh since this spin off was based off Hugh it seems fitting that Iron Dogs and Hugh bit more blantant in the title instead of 50/50 blatant.
The series will continue and titles could be drawn on both Iron and Magic Series equally vs the other series where Innkeeper focuses on Dina centered titles, etc.
Haha, I havent stopped thinking about the name but like this one the best so far as fitting them.
Best one so far of the ones I can think of* to clarify! Best/ One name to rule them all is not my call so I can’t make that bold of a statement 🙂
Iron Mistress
Iron alliance
Love and Irons
+1 for Iron Alliance
Iron Mistress +1
Fire and Iron
Mercenary Magic?
Warlord’s Bargain
OMG. Is this another April Fool’s joke? This sounds like an April fools joke. My left eye is twitching. Seriously.
I know, me too! Now I’m afraid this has all been an April fools 3 years in the making!
They wouldn’t have paid models to pose for a cover for an April Fools’ joke. At least, I wouldn’t have done so.
I love this! Can’t wait to read more of Hugh and Elara’s story. I think both will play a role in Kate’s upcoming battle with Roland – potentially (and hopefully) as her ally.
Anyway, my suggestion is “The Perceptor and White Warlock” series.
I agree with calling the series Iron and Magic, but if you don’t wan to keep that…
Iron Heart
Magic’s Pride
Magic’s Price
Dark Magic
Not Magic’s Price…that’s too easily confused with Mercedes Lackey’s “Last Herald Mage” trilogy from Valdemar.
Another couple of suggestions, but it depends on where you’ll take the series…
Iron Justice
Magic’s Justice
Warlord’s Betrothed
Iron Heart
LOL. This whole thing, and you know what I fastened on? SERIES! Yay, more books!
Thank you for working thru the flood trauma for this! I’ll ponder series names but I’m not very creative at that sort of thing. Which isn’t going to stop me from snarfing down the excerpt. 😀
Best April fools day ever!
I can’t believe it’s been three years since that post. And I wasn’t expecting three chapters. Thanks!
Me too! Time really flies!
So good!
Blades and Bluegrass is probably too silly sounding, I mean I can almost hear banjos, but that’s what I’ve got.

+1 The Oathbreakers – but Hugh didn’t break oath- Roland did…
I found the following definition:
“Warlock is a male practitioner of evil magic (distinguished from a wizard or sorcerer, whose magic may be benign).
[1]The most commonly accepted etymology derives warlock from the Old English wǣrloga meaning “oathbreaker” or “deceiver”.
[2] However, in early modern Scots, the word came to be used as the male equivalent of witch (which can be male or female, …)”
Going by what it is said in #1, one meaning for warlock is Oathbreaker. Elara is “The White Warlock” so “Oathbreaker” could be applied to her. Also, Hugh has magic, and he has used it for evil deeds, so he might be considered a warlock as well. ?
Except that Mercedes Lackey had a book called Oathbreaker, part of the Valdemar world.
Thank you for letting me know. I have not read M. Lackey’s books/series.
Preceptors’s Pain (it looks like Elara is going to give him all he can handle) I can’t wait!

Maybe “White Lady’s Shield” or “White Lady and her Sword” or “The Devel’s Light”
Ah, so exciting!! Can’t wait to pick this up. I’m terrible at the naming game, so I’ll just say Iron & White as a play on Iron & Light

Black and White Betrayals (series)
Betrayers Bound for the book
I chose these titles because in my head at least it seemed like Ilona was somewhat leading down a penciled in path of people that were at one time despised and/or put into a position where the ONLY option was to betray or maybe they were the betrayed … knowing what we know about Hugh… both apply the White Warlock is only mentioned in the periphery (at least to my knowledge) but its possible that our talented author-lords wish to have a similar vein for the White Warlock ….
the options for follow up names is pretty straightforward and somewhat follows the Magic X theme of Kate’s books <3
Betrayal Redeemed
Betrayers Betrothed
Betrayers Loyalty
Bargains of Betrayal (or swapped) Betrayers Bargains
+1 for all proposed book titles, so how about Betrayal series
+1
and I just realized I am an idiot… the book already has a title…
IRON AND MAGIC
somehow I thought that the request was for both.
my bad
i was being overly ambitious and tried renaming the whole of everything for Hugh
so my Black and White Betrayals (series name) makes way way way less sense.
Hmmm, what about …
A Blade Reforged (hinting at both Hughs new journey, and Serafina’s need to become something new to keep her people safe)
OR
A Mystic & Blade Series Novel
A Priestess & Iron Series Novel
A Sorceress and Iron Blade Novel
A Blade of Magic and Iron
+1 Mystic & Blade
also +1 for Mystic and Blade
+1 Mystic and Blade (or … and Iron Blade)
+1 Mystic and Blade

Then when they fight Nez in book…..oh say 45 ….. you can call it Golden something or other.
Sorry i didnt mean to tag onto your comment! But yay! A new book!
+1 Mystic and Blade
I feel like there isn’t quite enough backstory to know how to name a series with Elara being centered on it. Hugh, we’ve seen in Kate’s world and what he’s capable of. anyway. I used the thesaurus because it’s my favorite thing online. good luck picking a series name.
I kept getting stuck on the image of Elara ripping the magic out of the vampire and just leaving a husk behind. that was such a creepy and awesome display for her to do. but it left me with a lot of questions!!! can’t wait until June and the book release! I came up with:
Iron Vitiate
Ferrous Vitiate
thinking about how Hugh must start anew with his life- I do like the steel/iron aspect because he’s being reforged, but I decided to go with some ‘new’ words instead:
Mending Vitiate
Protected Light
Protection & Light
Just Light
Light & Justice (hahahahahah this cracks me up with Hugh’s history)
Where did you read about ripping the magic out of vampires?
It’s in the except that Ilona linked in the post ?

Also going to add
Iron Redeemed
Redeemed and Reforged
Since Hugh really likes castles and moats…
I shall provide the name “The moat point”!
I’m just waiting to see what the Authorlords can do with Hugh. I hate him so much, what could make me change my mind by reading this book?
And I like “Iron covenant” as a title, but I think the series’ name could also be “Iron and Magic”, it sounds right!
You are right. Iron & Magic sounds perfect as a series name. It represents important characteristics of Hugh & Elara. And Iron Covenant is great title for the first book. You got my vote hands down, for whatever that’s worth! ?
Rivals Redemption
Ooh so excited for this series. Here’s my suggestions for series titles:
Might of White (White’s Might)
White War
Blood and Blade
Hunger for Redemption
Warlock’s Preceptor
The Devil is in the details
Also. Ha! I finally found where I remembered the white warlock from.
Outcast’s Redemption
Iron Magic Alliance
Warlock’s Iron Alliance
Outcasts redemption +1
Bonds of sword and sorcery
I didn’t (notice past tense) want to read a book about Hugh. Dang it!
Reluctant Heroes
Reluctant Allies
Balanced Power
Reforging Lives
Alliances Reforged
New Beginnings
Reinvention
Uneasy Alliance
The Pacifists and The Warriors
That’s all I’ve got for now.
I like “Reforged” for the series title, except it doesn’t reference Elara.
Iron Magic
I’m just excited about Hugh’s book. Will it be in audio too? I buy kindle as well but just love Rene’s story telling.
To be gullible, or not to be gullible? That’s the question. Oh heck, it’s Ilona Andrews. I’d say the risk is in my favor.
This is a passing thought (well, request for input – hey, I’m still doing housework, but I have institutional access and good TTS, also, I did need to eat, and this is a great game…
I’m trying to avoid anything that sounds like it would work just fine for High Fantasy books. So I’ve been thinking about how to use more modern sounding language for similar concepts. Reading papers on replicating the properties of damascus steel via powder metallurgy might have been a bit of a tangent (mm, so tasty, though) but there’s all kinds of language out there…
Conceptually, I really love the word sintering – which is the process of creating solid masses out of powder (without liquidfying them), which can create improbably alloys and very specific structural properties. But… I’m afraid it’s too technical a term, and I don’t really like the way it sounds for this kind of use.
Other thoughts on more modern terms? What’s a twist on “Warlord” that isn’t backward compatible?
Cast White Iron
…is a cool thing, with some interesting plays on words, and fairly intuitive. Maybe too much so? (Okay, stepping away from the real computer.)
Iron Harper:
We sing the tale of the hardest dogs to ever hit Kentucky.
Iron Lady
Warlock’s Bane
But I also think “Iron and Magic” would be a great series title –
And oooh, The White Warlock from MAGIC BINDS! If she and Hugh marry, and then the Witch Oracle of Atlanta put Erra into Elara, does that make Hugh Kate’s uncle and Roland’s brother-in-law? Roland’s head would explode heehee
Oh, I like “Iron and Magic.”
Entrenched in Blood Series
Coming up with a series name is way harder than I first thought!!!
Or a very Mills and Boon’s sounding, The Warlord Takes A Wife. ?
The White Lady Takes a Husband?
Blood Magic
Ironclad Promise
Ironclad Magic
The Truth about Dogs and Warlocks
For better or worse
Red, White and Hugh
Hammer & Hunger
Munitions & Magic
Moat & Balle
Sorry, meant Moat & Baile
The Iron Snake

Really interested in the story of Elara in all this. Seems she has an interesting past.
Bound by magic
As a second suggestion, whatever you pick, i am really happy the book became reality!
Left it on the wrong page ??

I left my suggestions in the wrong string – but love the book already & great character development!

It is probably silly, but how about …

They both seem to adhere to a kind of honor to the people that follow them and the hope is that they can survive all that comes after them.

White Fortress… White for white warlock (and Hugh’s unic…. um horse) and fortress for irondog stronghold. Hugh likes castles :-). And I figure this will be their base for the offshoot series.
I was going to go for White Castle, but that brings to kind hamburgers and fantasy lit.
It could also be Grey Fortress because Elara’s magic seems to have some grey areas…. As does Hugh’s moral character.
I also like Iron Balle

2. Blood and Steel series with titles such as Blood Bound / Blood Debt / Blood Borne / Blood Loss ( maybe a cheeky Blood Lust?)
These have probably have been mentioned already, since another 200 comments have been added since I last checked! Will go and hunt through the rest of the comments again now ?
+1 for Blood and Steel
The Soldier and the Sinner
This was most likely said in an earlier post: White Iron.
I just had this thought: White Preceptor (unless someone else thought of this).
Bucky makes me smile and laugh. He’s going to give Hugh grief somehow. I can also picture Curran laughing so hard at Hugh for having a possible unicorn for his horse. ??

I like the sound of honor reforged, but then I think of Aunt B. I really don’t associate the word honor with his character. Maybe something with vindication, I don’t know, it’s a tough one, since he is a favorite to dislike because he is such a great villian…..

Crucible
Since a definition of crucible is: “a situation of severe trial, or in which different elements interact, leading to the creation of something new.” I keep trying to think of a variation of this thought, or of a longer phrase to fit, like White Crucible, or Blood Crucible. But I think just the one word in it’s simplicity refers to both characters, and how being forced together is a severe trial (gleeful giggles), and how they will change each other.
+1

+1
This is brilliant. Personally I thought we do not know enough about Elara to come up with something clever so a lot of the suggestions refer more to Hugh or relegate Elara’s part to “white” or “warlock”.
But this fits both of them equally perfect, it is an extremely difficult situation for both of them and a new beginning. It sound elegant and non-cheesy and does not point to a single genre only.
Very well done!
War Tenents
Theory of War
Wow…I didn’t think Hugh was redeemable, but reading about his indoctrination since he was a child of 6-7…I mean, Roland really was God to him, his everything for so many years (how old is Hugh really, btw?) I actually feel badly for Hugh…completely brainwashed, no money or anything of his own, cast away like trash…it’s very different than Hugh choosing this life as an adult, which is what I had thought before (like how Landon chose to join Roland). I like that Hugh is showing glimmers of scruples now that he is on his own…loyalty to the remaining Dogs, feeling badly about betraying allies…but he’s still got a LONG way to go!
I also thought Hugh and Elara would come into contact with Kate because of Hugh, but now that I’ve re-read Magic Binds epilogue, it might be because of Elara, which I would love! Hugh needs to be taken down a peg or two, and I love that she is extremely powerful!
Another interesting note-his magic would “buzz” him when there was an injury that needed fixing-how in the world did he survive as a Warlord then?!
Thank you for the giant excerpt, the contest, and the promise of a SERIES!

A retort can be a sharp, angry, or wittily incisive reply or a vessel in which large quantities of material may be heated, esp one used for heating ores in the production of metals or heating coal to produce gas.
the “retort” could be incorporated into other titles in the series.
Iron and Magic (Book One in the The White Preceptor series)
I like the sound of the White Preceptor it hints at alot of ideas like Hugh becoming the good person he could’ve been, Elara perceiving herself in a less monstrous way and them becoming a powerful couple like Kate and Curran.
1. Silvered Vengeance Series

Not sure if this has already been put forward. If so it has my +1
Both are strong people and now have to make an alliance that cuts at
them for the sake of their people.
There will have to be sacrifices from both which will chew at their pride
and take little pieces of their souls with every concession.
But for their alliance to succeed they will need strong wills, steel backbones and Iron Souls.
I was going to say Iron Bound, but then I remembered that you wanted Elara in the title. So…

Arcane Trials (thesaurus.com says arcane is a synonym for white, who knew?)
Also, someone suggested Crucible at some point, so +1 for that (I can’t find it again to plus under it, sorry!)
I always get caught up in your snippets and bits. Thank you.
For the series, how about “Workings and Will”?
The Devil’s Abomination
Swords and Secrets
With Hugh talking about trees and putting down roots and Elara refusing to move away, it seems Balle will be a central venue for their stories. If that’s the case, then perhaps the series name can be:
* Redemption at Balle
* The Tales of Balle (a la Canterbury Tales)
And, *gasp* . . . Elara is a magic eater?! And something about her power makes Hugh uneasy? Woot! I’m already looking forward to the big reveal.
+1 The Tales of Balle
Iron Unleashed
Serpent ‘s Union
The Serpent and the Dog
Vows of Blood and Iron
My suggestions-
The Betrayers Balle
Death’s Cure (this is seems to be leaning more towards fantasy; thought this, as both Hugh and Elara can kill, and Hugh is a healer but Elara (from the excerpt) seems more empathetic, both may heal each other)
As others have mentioned, Iron and Magic for the series would be great. It’d be a nod to the new spin-off and also connect it to the Kate Daniels world in which it is set.
Also,
White Iron has my +1, though my first thought on reading it was White Hot from the Hidden Legacy series.
Alliance series +1
Blood and Iron +1, don’t know if this has been mentioned earlier.

He’s always in black, she’s the white witch. And then there is Bucky. And the fact that they are both grey morally at best. BLACK AND WHITE would be a good name.
They are both Abominations. They are both seeking for Redemption. So: REDEMPTION series
And a tongue in cheek name for the series: POETIC JUSTICE like Hugh smelling fresh bread and remembering that he’d starved Kate.
But I think BLACK AND WHITE suits the series well.

The Betrothed Series
Short and simple like the rest of your series’ names, and it’s a nod to both character’s as thes are each others’ betrothed. Combined with the book names it does sound urban fantasy.
First hura – first because it’s the first book (of many ?) and hura made of Hugh and Elara. Also like last hurrah, only the opposite.
Blood Betrayed
Blood Wars
Blood Magic
Betrayers Redemption (nah, too presumptuous)

For the series, I would suggest:

My idea is “Redemption and Salvation “
Magic at War
(apologies if that’s already been suggested, I didn’t have time to read all the comments)
Initially I thought of: THE WHITE WARLOCK AND THAT DUDE ON THE SHINY HORSE
but that makes the horse unkillable/stops its transition into a proper unicorn (horns grow after sex unlike in the fairy tales)

The idea of this book did not hugely appeal to me but this is exciting stuff, well done.

War of white fire
Because Hugh’s horses are described as black fire but he ends up with a white one and she is the white warlock. White Anchor, Blue Shield
Elara is the anchor, for both her people and now Hugh. An anchor that both stabilises and weighs down (the constant relocating), white for her hair and (I’m taking creative license here) purity. It also alludes to her a small part of her powers (thank you giant excerpt).
Hugh with his blue magic now needs to adapt his martial nature from offensive to defensive. From Rolands battering ram to Elaras shield. A shield in more ways than physical and finally letting his magic be as nature intended, nurturing.
Very well thought out choice!

Irregular Magic
Irregular can mean misshapen (broken?) in reference to Hugh whose healing magic (and personality) was warped by his relationship with Roland
It can also mean peculiar or strange, or contrary to ‘what is normal or established’, which speaks to Elana’s magic. The Giant Excerpt (thank you author lords) says – paraphrasing here- that Elana’s magic shouldn’t exist.
Also the use of ‘Magic ‘ in the title keeps the series in the KD ‘Magic’ universe without being in the KD ‘world’ – same church, different pew or, because you are sci-if fans, same solar system, different planet ?
Finally, it works (IMHO) as a series name because I am quite sure that they will have all kinds of irregular and exciting challenges and adventures in future books ?
But I also still like Iron & Magic as a series and first book name.
This is fun. Thanks.
‘Irregular Magic’ reminds of those Kelley Armstrong books Dime Store Magic and Industrial Magic. I like that it references magic.
OMG this is going to be a series?!? I’m so excited and I have no good ideas for a series name.

A white/ Caucasian lady who is a witch who has a castle and her people to save = Elara
White Lady to describe Elara out of context wasn’t making sense to him.

The “Magic” ties it to the K.D. books and stray magic hints at Elara’s magic that strays from the norm.

Is an audiobook in the works!?! I absolutely LOVE the narrator you use for all your books and I listen to them over and over!!
Abominable Redemption
Hunger and the Void
I am surprised that a book about an evil waste of skin like Hugh has any fans. It’s as if everyone including the authors have forgotten his back-story. Denying panacea, almost killing Kate, Aunt B’s death etc.
This will be the first piece of fiction by the authors I do not want to read.
It is because he has a backstory that he behaved the way he did. We did not forget what he did. Still, he is a compelling character and not evil per se. Brutal und manipulative? Yes. Calculating and cunning? Yep. Evil? Not so much.
If you do not want to read Hugh’s book, Kate will be out soon-ish. I for my part am counting the days. 85 to go. ?
Go Zirrella, speak truth
@Zirraella
Me, too! In fact, I’m looking forward to this book as much as the next Kate Daniels, and I’m thrilled it’s going to be the start of a series.
@Christine Anne
Read the excerpt, you might change your mind once you find out about Hugh’s backstory.
I personally love looking at the conflict from the other side… In any conflict in the world you could call the other side “evil”, and what “your” side is doing falls under “all is fair in love and war”, even if it’s just as nasty.
I
I was going to say more… Trigger fingers… LOL!!
I think in many ways Kate can come across as unsympathetic as well, but we get a look at the inner workings of her mind so we know why she does what she does… I still think sometimes she can be really annoying, though. 🙂
From Hugh’s point of view the things he does are just as justifyable. He just has the bad luck that Kate got to tell her side first. 🙂
Having another go as I desperately want to read the advance copy. AM I the only one enlarging the picture and trying to get a sneak peek at the cover? Torture.

My comments are gone 🙁
Here are my titles again, from my earlier post this morning:
Broken Magics
White sword
Iron Thorns
God, never mind… Forgot about the time difference… To ask for forgiveness I’m going to read a few pages of comments and like possible titles!
These contests are so fun!
– Warped Shield
– Iron Curse
– Reluctant Alliance
– Iron and Armor
I left my suggestions in the comments for the Giant Excerpt page, but since the contest instructions say ” return here with a suggestion for the series name “, I am going to repost. Apologies if this is unnecessary, oh Authorlords (and everyone else, too).
Balle Keep
The Chronicles of Balle Castle (or Balle Castle Chronicles)
Balle and Chains
Preceptor and White Warlock
*Assuming that the action will stay centered around Balle, of course!
**Can’t wait to find out what kind of chemistry develops between Bucky and Elara (The Unicorn and the White Warlock?)
Balle Keep +1
Shifting Allegiance,
Shifted Allegiance,
Shifting Alliance, OR
Shifted Alliance
“Shift” would reference the series’ tie to the Kate Daniels’ post-shift world, and the whole title would reflect Hugh’s switch in allegiance from Roland to Elara and/or other groups, and Elara’s allegiance to perhaps more than just her people.

I clicked the “notify me of follow-up comments by email” box when I submitted my original comment. I thought it meant that it would notify me if anyone commented on my comment. Um, no. It notifies you of every comment on the post after yours. I had 500-600 emails this morning. Oops. To fix it, I went to the original email that asked me to confirm that I wanted emails, clicked confirm again, then unsubscribed to this specific post.

Iron Legacy
Iron and Thorns
Iron Forrest

Turncoat’s alliance.
Bonds of Iron or Bonds of magic.
Because it would take magic for both Elara and Hugh to make a bond and magic is very unpredictable. I used magic as a word because both don’t want to bend and it would take a miracle (as it seems at this point) for them to even start to like each other.
I think magic will be a factor in the book aside from the threat Landon Nez represents and only Hugh and Elara working side by side could they possibly stop it. Hence the series title.
Iron and Magic is a great title for the series because it factors everything in the apocalyptic world. Magic and tech. It encompasses both Elara and Hugh because both of them are iron and magic. Her for the safety of her people and him for his.
Those are my suggestions for the series title and these titles are the best I can think of right now. They don’t make me cringe. Except maybe Abominations: Iron and Magic. 😉
Thank you.
Broken and The White
Sorry posted in the wrong section. Here goes:
Sword & Warlock
Iron Lord & Queen of Magic
Mortal Iron & Magic’s Fate
Preceptor & Magic
First, let me say I am thrilled to have this book for real! Its debut is marked in my calendar for purchase. 🙂
Series title possibilities:
Betrayers’ Redemption
The Marriage of the Abominations
Rising from Rock Bottom (because there is where both of them are when they meet.)
Alliance of the Oathbreakers
Needs Must (when the devil drives – why they are willing to discuss an alliance)
And a +1 for the person who came up with just Oathbreakers. 🙂
Coal Black Magic
Black Mountain Magic
I saw a lot of suggestions for white Iron, but I like White Steel better.
More suggestions without knowing enough about the series:
Reforging Fate or Reforging Fortune
White Crucible – I like the idea of changing the title of the books from Iron in book 1 to Steel in book 2 and Alloy in book 3
With apologies for not reading the other entries (as I may be repeating):
– Iron Will, or;
– Outcasts
Hi, too many comments to read, so I apologize if I’m repeating a title.
Since Elara consumes magic and the life force that is connected to it and Hugh is a healer and warlord, how about something related to that?
– Magic Eater and Healer
– Magic Sustains
– Healer’s Vampire (elara is a kind of magical vampire)
Rise anew series
Rise again series
I was wondering how to blend several things together. Rebirth becaus Hugh is bit dead inside. And Regrow Elara made me think of old trees and ivy. And Rebuild There will be lots of work. And Reforge becaus Elara and Hugh will not mix easily into one team and I imagine It will be like forging weapon from broken pieces.
For me It came back to rebirth becaus all around them the world is in flames and like a phoenix it will rise again. In the flames Hugh and Elara will be forged in to something new and togedher they will rise to regrow what was hurt and rebuild what was razed. They will rise again to face their enemies. And again and again. Mayby they will just rise anew?
That is what I get from the excerpt. I hope you like at least the image of Elara and Hugh in the forge of marriage 🙂

There are so many good ideas here, I don’t have a better one. I just had to say how much I loved this post and how much I have enjoyed watching this whole story unfold, from the that original April fools post to today. Love it!
The Lady and the Dog
First time post here – and it’s to say thank you. This was a wonderful birthday present (happy birthday to me!). I’m looking forward to going on a journey with Hugh, and my sadness at the end of the Kate series is tempered by the knowledge that the world continues.
As for titles – I’m sure that these have been suggested somewhere among the many, many posts, but….
Wedded Blade
Wedded War
Wedded Bliss (eventually). 🙂
Oathbreakers Forged
Magic Knights
Fabulous start to Hugh’s story! Thank you so much for making the fool real.
Souls of Iron Series – It seems Elara can imbibe “souls” or at least the “magic” of a person which could be considered a soul if that person cannot live without it.

Ugh, realized I posted in the comments of the giant except, so I am re-posting here:
How about Blood Forged? I am thinking Hugh was originally forged with Roland’s blood. Elara has some crazy stuff going on that we don’t know about yet, which may or may not involve blood, and they are going to be fighting vampires, from which they’re harvesting blood to do something with – use (forge) as a weapon? And there’s a ton of symbolism around them being married and forging a union, becoming one, etc.
I agree that “magic” is a bit generic, and I think of that as Kate’s series anyway.
Also, GREAT sample. Thank you! I can’t wait to read the rest!

OK Can’t be April Fools’ Day prank, closing date for the competition is Fourth of April. If a prank continues after noon on April 1, the prankster then becomes the fool. Ilona & Gordon fooled by the BDH baying for new books. Surely they wouldn’t fall for that again?

You have over a thousand replies and life is short so I may not be the first to suggest you original title, Warlord’s Price, which is quite clever. Not easy to translate into a series of titles, but I don’t know if you have a series in mind for Hugh. I’m sorry for his childhood, but I can’t forgive him. Doesn’t mean I won’t buy the book, of course.
Thank you for wonderful chapters in Hugh’s and Elara’s book. My question is how did decide on Elara for new character ? Do you try several out, see how they look together, throw names in a hat and pick at random?
Not good at titles , but like White Redemption. Or the white wedding one, and Bucky the white horse.

You have over a thousand replies so I may not be the first to suggest your original title, Warlord’s Price, is quite clever. Not easy to translate into a series of titles, but I don’t know if you have a series in mind for Hugh. I kind of hope not. I’m sorry for his childhood, but I can’t forgive him for Mauro’s death, not to mention Aunt Bee, and of course his “courtship”/torture of Kate. Guess I’m petty that way. Doesn’t mean I won’t buy the book, of course–you know I will–and hopefully find his redeming qualities along the way. Maybe if he heals a LOT of dogs…

To explain the thinking behind my Iron Bonds suggestion Because it just seems like both characters are inextricably tied to each other and the world around them.
Hugh is enmeshed in numerous and complex bonds with both allies and enemies that drive his choices and behavior. Elara finds herself in a similar situation. Somehow I need to resolve all of these and make their bond work for them. Counting on the authors of the seemingly impossible here!
Despite his best efforts to drink himself into oblivion, Hugh could not abandon the Iron Dogs, which brought him to Elara. The marriage/ relationship will bring another unbreakable “Iron” bond for both of them, as their people’s survival will depend on them making it work. The unavoidable commitment will clearly push and pull constantly at Hugh and Elara, reshaping both of them over the course of the series. And, potentially, the world around them will be shaped by their “Iron” bonds, as well.
On the inescapable enemy side, Hugh and Elara have their ongoing battles with Nez, Hugh has his Roland “void”, Elara seems to have an inner battle to control her magic and some history that will probably cough up a few more truly evil opponents.
There is also the unknowable future with Bucky the (Probably ) unicorn, who will probably be a terrific frenemy.
Loved the blurb – thanks for giving us another glimpse into the KD world!

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned something along these lines already, but how about:

Or Swird and sorceress
*Sword and Sorceress
I remember the Sword and Sorceress series by Carole Nelson Douglas. It’s a bit strange because it only acquired that title when she changed publishers mid-series.
Oops. Wrong series. That’s the Sword and Circlet. Sword and Sorceress is Marion Zimmer Bradley’s.
The first chapters are really awesome, so many tantalizing bits and pieces hinted at, wow! It will be amazing to see how Hugh becomes his own person and a leader for so many depending on him after being Rolands warlord for so long. And I’m itching to see what Elara is and how she got stuck with being an abomination.
Totally amazing also the avalanche of comments and suggestions- hope you have some way to extract and sort all the titles. Since I don’t here’s mine, and apologies or rather +1 in case it’s already somewhere in the thread.
Series title:
Hues of Magic (Hugh/blue, Elara/white and Bucky/silver)
Since both carry a lot of past baggage:
Roots of Magic
I loved the Warlord’s Price as a title, but since Elaras name is now Harper I’m struggling with a variation for the next book after Iron and Magic since White Hot is the association that comes first because I love Hidden Legacy a lot. And I’m not sure yet what Elaras magic encompasses from the glimpses we had.
But Bucky deserves a title in the series:
Silver Stallion (or Silver Unicorn)

Questions for the author lords. At the end of Magic Binds, the Witch Oracles, when the witches are helping Kate get dressed for her wedding, Sienna suggests the White Warlock as the body host for Erra.
1) Is this White Warlock Elara?
2) If so, does the time period of KD 10 and Hugh and Elara overlap? – It seems in Chp. 1 & 2 Elara is not hosting Erra
3) Or is that black hunger, the Other, inside Elara, Erra? 🙂

Iron White
I know that “White Iron” has been suggested before, but I like it better this way round. It’s Hugh’s series, so he should be mentioned first. Also you have another book (White Hot) starting with white, so there shouldn’t bei a series starting with this word.
Greetings from Germany!
Iron Redeemed
And here’s to second chances 😉
Magic Accord
One of the things that struck me as I was reading, is how much sounded as the opening moves of a chess match. The characters white and black when mixed together you get grey/silver. The color of Hugh’s new horse and iron. Elara offers the castle and it resources as her part of the bargain. Elara resembles a queen and classic save move for the queen in the game is to exchange the queen and rook called castling. Chess is a strategic game of war. They are starting this partnership not with heart but with head for the good of others, therefore how about Iron Check Mate
+1 for check mate ?
It’s tricky to come up with the name for the series without knowing the direction it’ll take. Ironically Iron and Magic would have worked quite well for It overall, no?
How about something based on their common purpose along the lines of:
Vampire Nemesis
The end of Golden Legion
Or a tad melodramatically:
Abomination and the Unwanted
The unwanted alliance
I dunno.
I think we need a bigger snippet to be REALLY sure?

The Queen’s Iron Will
Or The Warlock’s Iron Will
Magic’s Iron Will
My titles may take some explanation 🙂 So I think Hugh seriously needs to re-brand the Iron Dogs — they are no longer Roland’s pets, right? Why would he want to keep the name associated with the man who threw him and his soldiers away? I would call them wolves, but that immediately invokes all the werewolf PNRs out there. So how about wolverines? They are fiercely territorial, incredibly aggressive, and their smaller size (about a medium size dog) could reflect Hugh’s pared-down forces. They are wolverines now, protecting their new territory, Balle Castle, and they are small but mighty (seriously, go watch a video of a wolverine fighting). And maybe even planning on expanding further into the rest of Kentucky. Hugh does have those ambitions. And Elara, a/k/a the White Warlock or the White Lady, sounds like a version of a soul-eater, especially because in some mythologies the victim of a soul-eater crumbles into dust after its life force or soul has been consumed. Most legends I know simply call them soul eaters, but there are echoes of the same thing in the Albanian Shtriga or even Egyptian Ammit, although Ammit is probably well-known enough that using it would impose certain expectations for readers in the know.
So here are my suggestions (finally):

Is there any way to get the comments to number from beginning? I’ve only read 400-600 of them & i can’t figure out how to get to unread ones in the middle.
Destiny awaiting – bound by honor (vol 1)
Destiny awaiting – bound by … (vol 2) depending in the story … blood?
Destiny awaiting – bound by… (vol 3) …love?
If anything has already been said, please consider it a +1
– The Precepter’s Lady
– Precepter’s Balle
– To Marry and Burn
– White Dogs
Or very simply,
Hugh and Elara series. -> why not? After all, Kate Daniels series is simply named after her…
Hulara, anyone? The latest and greatest power couple!!
Forged in Magic: Iron’s Maiden
+1 love it
Devil’s bargain
Commented on the other page in error. ….
Iron Willed Alliance
Forged by War
Darkness and Light
Magic Redeemed
Outcast Chronicles
White Iron or Magic Iron
Is 1,311 comments an April fools joke too? The number above this reply box is 36.
OK, how about
The People Vs. Hugh and Elara.
Snake Versus Dog
WarLocked
Blood and Guts
Blood and Steel
Blood and Redemption
The Redemption
Forged iron and Molton Magic
Forged Iron
The Cold clasp of Iron
Ironwood
or
The Ironwood
or
Ironwood Forge(d)
or
Ironwood Crucilble
or
Ironwood Alloy(ed)
Sorry I keep doing this, I don’t think fast enough to put everything in one comment.
I could see Elara planting an Ironwood somewhere down the series as mark of affection for Hugh and/or a symbol of what they are building….
White wedding of Iron and Magic
Magnetic Magic
Magnetic Shield
Healing Covenant
Molten Magic
Caught between Scylla and charybdus
Apologies if these have already been mentioned:
1. Forged in Betrayal
Or
2. Iron Allegiance
The Oathbreakers. Julie told Derek that’s what “warlock” means, and Hugh is no passive victim either.
Iron Bound
Sorry for all the idea’s I hope people like one. I do not care about winning the contest, I just want to get my mitts on an advanced copy of the book!!!
Thank you for all you do for your fans.

Warlord’s Harp
Iron Shield

Forge of Iron and Magic
The French Warlord’s Woman
(not really. I just couldn’t resist the wordplay! ha!)
White Hot Iron
+1
Iron Allies
Iron Alliance
Iron Alchemy
Sharpening Iron
1+ for Iron Alliance
+1 Iron Alliance
Strategic Stronghold:
the Hugh and Elara Saga
Choice of Spoils
Alliance Gauntlet
Belle’s Fortress
White Iron. To the outside eye, the alliance appears as brittle as its namesake, but once through the crucible, it is strong, malleable, and capable of incredible castings. Only a fool would underestimate white iron.
Using white cast iron as a base concept, there are an endless number of casting/ metal title options.
+1 for White iron
+2 white iron
+3 this is the best one I’ve seen
+1 for White Iron
Although, I also like Iron and Magic even though that’s the name of the first book. It fits.
I like Iron and Magic for the series too. (+3 by my count)
White Iron (+5 by my count)
White magic is an obvious choice but a confusing one. In my eyes it ties in Nevada’s world into Kate’s universe and it’s not what this all about at all
Sweet As Molossus
(Roman war dog..most giant guard dogs..Great Dane, cane corso, St. Bernard , rotti etc are decendants.
Rock and the Hard Place?
Burning Iron and the White Lady
The Preceptor and the White Lady
Burning Iron and White Magic
Burning Iron and Magic
Rebirth of Iron and the White Lady
Elara’s Magic seems to eat or consume things so I like “Consumed Iron” or “Iron Consumes” or how about the fact that they hate each other but have to work together. “Allied Enemies” or “Enemy Mine” “Cold Collaboration”
+ for white iron or any derivative:
White iron alliance
White iron pact
Pact of white iron
White iron magic
Etc
Warlord’s Light – He is the warlord and she is a magical entity that is the guiding light to her people but also his source of love; he was in the dark and then she found him.
+1
Betrayer’s Alliance
Soul and Sword Series
Redemption and Magic
Forged Magic
Magic and Might
White Legion

+1 Warlord’s Redemption. Love ittttt.

Order of Chaos
First time to post here 🙂
I don’t know if anyone has suggested this:
Wrought Illusion
Metal Magic Series
Broken Promises
Uneasy Bedfellows
A Trying Alliance
Trying Allies
Uneasy Allies
Uneasy Alliance
+1 Uneasy Alliance
So I went and reread the Excerpt, and I think the Series should be Called –
Death and Magic
My reasons being that both are deadly and magic and yet neither is what they actually ARE. I am sooo soo curious about the stories behind Berry Hill. I am from Kentucky so this is like an extra bonus in my book.
Divining Iron
Wicked White and Ronin Black
Reading your excerpt reminded me of the 47 Ronin (NOT the Hollywood movie but the actual story of the 47 Ako samurai who hid, lay low pretending to have given up their swords and settled down as peaceful villagers but were actually training and just waiting for the right time, and finally got revenge—after which, being honorable Japanese bushi, they committed seppuku.)
Hugh and his men have lost their Master and are what is called Ronin in Japanese.
The Outcasts
Between the Storms
Forged Alliances
Union of Survival
Since the title is supposed to reflect both characters and their personalities I’ll go with.
Foxfire and Shadows (or Foxfire and Shadow)
I think it captures the essences of both of them; their hidden inner selves, cunning, and power.
Burning covenant!
The White Lady’s Shield
Or for a less aporpriate version, lol;)
Her ladyship’s Dog
Covenant of the Misjudged
Forged Truth
Iron Possession
Forging Iron and Magic
Iron Castaways
Magic Castaways
Cast Iron (like casting a spell 🙂 )
Castaway Covenant (Hugh’s been castaway by Roland and Elara is a castaway and isolated by her people)
Steely Mojo
Resolute Enchantment
Alloy Allies
Grit & Conjure
Enchanted Iron
A Marriage of Magic and Metal
The Guardian and the Warlord?
Magicked Iron
Besieged and Beguiled (not your normal type of series name)
Surviving Souls
Iron Desire to survive
The Whisper and the Void
Did someone already say Forged Iron?
Iron Will
Forged Truce
1) The Iron Harp Series
2) The Void’s Hunger Series
3) The Healer’s Hunger Series
4) The Blade of the Harp
1) Dogs, Druids and Demons
2) Iron and Ivory
3) Iron and Steel or Iron and Steal
Thanks for the excerpt. LOVED it
+ 1 for Betrayers’ Alliance or Balles Fortress/Keep
Also
Betrayers’ Betrothal
Iron Dogs and Warlocks
The Iron Coven
Tales of the Preceptor and White Warlock
Apocalypse Fools
The Price of Iron and Magic – perhaps Iron & Magic as the series name, The Price of Iron & Magic as the name of this book?
I just reread and realised the horse is possibly a unicorn ??. We could name this The Adventures of a Magic Unicorn and Iron Dog.
Love Kate and Innkeeper! Looking forward to Hugh.
Here’s my puny suggestions.
Weapons & Witchery
White Witch & Black Iron
Charms & Black Iron
The Monsters’ Balle series
Thanks so much for chapters – they were fabulous. Definitely looking forward to the book.
