We received several messages informing us that today is the last day to vote in Goodreads books award thingie for seminfinals and could we please post the links. At this point we’re kind of blase about it, because we are Susan Lucci of Goodreads. We’ve been nominated like 8 times, and we never win or even place close. But thank you so much for caring about our books. Thank you. That’s lovely to know. With that in mind, here are the links.
Today Gordon is taking me on a date to see Thor. I am ridiculously excited. I am also thinking of sneaking a little bit of work on the book before we go. Unfortunately, he is right here next to me on the computer and he will see me. I’ll just have to concentrate hard on sneaky thoughts.
jewelwing says
Jealous! It got great reviews. I need to go see that.
Edward says
The comment someone gave after seeing the new Thor did amuse me:
“Thor Ragnarok is the Far Cry: Blood Dragon of the MCU, and that is a very beautiful thing.”
Have fun, and enjoy the film.
Karen says
Thor was such a fun movie! Really entertaining & beautifully shot.
FBR says
Oh dear, there are at least four books on that list I really enjoy, including both of yours…*dances from foot to foot in indecision* too many choices…!
Andreas says
Yeah, same thing here! That’s a really tough list.
strangejoyce says
Same here! Loved all of the books nominated. And loyal to all the authors. Muy stressful!!!! Will have to “double vote” with a chosen doppelganger. LOL
Monica B. says
It’s Amazing! Probably my favorite marvel movie yet. Have fun!
wont says
I hope you can forget the hurricane of your life for a bit and enjoy the movie. Popcorn and Milk Duds!
Hayley says
Really good film, worth going to see
Tink says
I liked the movie, too. Definitely closer to The Avengers in tone.
kommiesmom says
I’m jealous. Have fun!
Brad says
One Fell Sweep is in a really tough category. I voted for the book. it may be hard to beat out Silence Fallen and Etched in Bones. Which both books have strong, likeable, female characters.
Lisa says
I’ve voted on both of them. I never pay attention to those ‘vote now’ blurbs; but since you got it to my attention, I will take care of it then. And I loved both books.
Mary Beth says
Hubby took me Wednesday to see the new Thor. We loved it. Lots of unexpected belly laughs.
sarafina says
I saw it last week, it was good. I thought the score was inspired. How is Kate 10 coming along?
Pat says
This is a really fun movie, have a great time. ? voted for WH and OFS, keeping my fingers crossed.
DianainCa says
Enjoy the movie! I got to babysit my niece yesterday, so my brother and sister in law got to see it.
M says
It was a great list, a lot of choices. But I voted for you anyway. Good luck
Debbie B. says
Hope Gordon’s bladder will last! Don’t let him get much beverage, because it’s over 2 hrs and you all need to hang for both post credit bonus scenes!
Katy says
Last year Harry Potter and the Cursed Child won… out of name recognition because it was Harry Potter Related…
This year they have books that haven’t been released in the running….
I love and will vote for your books, but I find the Good Reads selections and selection process not very well done. I really shouldn’t be able to vote for a book I haven’t marked as being read 🙂
Lena says
I agree with you about the name recognition reason. Last year I voted for Ilona’s book but I did purchase the Cursed Child. I tried to read it but never finished it because I found it disappointing in several aspects. Ilona’s books have raised my expectations as a reader. So far, according to me, they can’t be beat. This year there were several other books in other categories that I was interested in. I bought them, read them, not voting for them. Just voting for Ilona’s books.
Candice says
Thor felt like a campy 80s movie sort of like the original Clash of the Titans with better special effects. But I absolutely loved it!!! Have fun and enjoy!!
KR says
Can’t wait to see Thor. It probably won’t happen until next weekend, but hubby and I are big MCU fans and we’re totally going to have a date. Have fun!
katieM says
I’ve seen it twice so far. It is good enough for me to see a third time at the theater. Best Marvel movie!
Gail K says
Voted for both your books . And want to see Thor looks like fun, enjoy your date with Gordon . Eat popcorn relax and ?.
DorothyB says
We really liked BladeRunner 2049, if you can sneak out on another date
AndrewC says
Be sure to sit through the credits for the TWO final scenes.
Samantha says
Susan Lucci is hella good company to be in. Win or not win Your books sell, because they are AWESOME! Thank You for writing.
Patricia Schlorke says
Cate Blanchett was the main reason I saw Thor. I laughed so hard throughout the movie and the two scenes during the credits.
Have lots of fun!
Jennifer says
Love your books and I already voted!!!
Thor was awesome. I walked out of the theater and wanted to turn back around and watch the next showing. Alas, I was too tired because I work nights and had already stayed up for the 10am show! …I really need to see it again.
Let us know what you thought of it!
Lekeisha says
I saw it last weekend and enjoyed it. Funny as hell, too, BTW.

GenJen says
Bwahahaha Susan Lucci….
I agree with Samantha, you are in great company with a long-running career and a KICKASS fan base. Have fun on your date nite!
Tamara Grantham says
Thor is AMAZING!! Except I made the mistake of taking all 5 of my kiddos to see it the 2nd time around. (I really wanted to see it again. Don’t judge.) Anyway, when we got home, my 2 yo found our meat tenderizer, the kind that looks like a big shiny hammer, and decided to rampage through the house Thor style. Our walls and my elbow got caught in the crossfire. Ouch.
Jean Fitzpatrick says
Sci-fi movie group (40+ to 80+) going end of November! Can hardly wait! Thanks for warning about beverages and extra scenes, being theatre techies we usually stay for the credits!
Heather says
Susan Lucci eventually won, so we will not give up the love or fight for a well-deserved award for you! As to the movie, have a great time. It’s brilliant. Probably my favorite Marvel movie to date.
Karen the Griffmom says
THOR. YES.
Becca says
My husband and I saw it on Saturday. It is one of my favorite of the Marvel movies.

Hey Blase,
Nalini and Nora are must reads for me.
Anticipation of the story, as the story unfolds. The discovery of nothing I thought.
Vindication of the story as it builds and displays its life.
Joy of hearing its song and being gripped by that mental push you give as it leaps and soars as you hope hope hope it sticks its landing. Wildfire beat Silence and Sundown, from you I wanted more, from them I expected better
I don’t write, I read. I admire & respect the craft, the work & the talent.
Innkeeper is a gem of the first water. From the beginning it has been nothing I thought, each book is a separate entity that explains and describes this universe and makes me want to beg. I actually pray that you have more of it you Want to share. Fell Sweep was a race past alleys that gave me glimpses of things I would like to know. It is rich robust & chock full of emotion & life & stories I would explore in reading.
Goodreads is about just that. I don’t read about reading. I share becaùse someone is looking for a good read. I voted because someone shared that your books are& I agree. Thank you
Carol says
Okey dokey! I voted and wrote another review! All awesomeness!! Go have fun! Enjoy the movie!! Let us know how it is. ?
Anne says
I voted this year, so maybe you’ll win.
Lis says
Both books made it to the finals!!
