Is it just me or is the line about a giant glass of iced tea in the middle of the Leon/Cornelius conversation a bit weird/out of context?
This is likely from Catalina’s point of view as the other’s talk.
Someone needs to get through to Leon that if he resorts to violence that could have been avoided and the other person is faster, then, while he’ll be dead and won’t care, his loss would hurt his family. Though it might be more useful to point out that it would leave those he cares about vulnerable to an enemy who was faster then him.

Hey I’m sure someone has said it but since you’re not warning us that Sapphire Flames will be late, I wanted to thank you for cramming to release the book on time. I know you guys had multiple crises to deal with so the effort is really really REALLY appreciated, especially since I’ve been counting the days until release! (Oh and if I’m wrong and it IS late we understand!)
You don’t have to worry. It’s been out of their hands for weeks, if not months. It takes time to print books in mass quantities and I’m guessing Avon (I think) did a pretty good press run for this book.

I’m going on vacation in a couple weeks and to make it a really GREAT vacation, I’m taking the new release (Sapphire Flame) with me and reading it on the beach (Myrtle Beach, SC). It will be extremely difficult not to devour it right away, but I have a strong will, and this is my reward for working hard all year. I will also be bringing the new G.A. Aiken book and the new J.D. Robb book. What a great reading vacation!
I’m also going on vacation a couple of weeks after release — debating whether I can make myself hold off so I have a “treat” to read while relaxing at the beach… Nahhh, I doubt it! (I’ll do my re-read at the beach 😉
