Using a random number generator, the following comments were selected:
1.Steven White:
If you could be a part of any house in The Hidden Legacy universe, which House would you be in and what would your power be?
I really would want the ability to heal, but I don’t think a house with that power has been identified. I also would love the Hopper powers, but I don’t know a specific house for those either. So I’ll settle on House Harrison for the animal mage powers. Those are pretty dang cool too!
I’m in the US, NC to be more precise!
2. Gailk:
House Duncan . Don’t know exactly what his powers entail but he hates being bored and so do I. I could register as a notable mnemonic . I have both a really great visual and Auditory memory. At work, I can recall verbatim what people say at meetings years later and what they were wearing. I worked with advertising and stylists and art directors would call and ask specifics about a fashion shoot and I could tell them exactly what the client requested. And if the client disagreed I reminded them and told them what they were wearing at the meeting.
It came in handy with difficult clients. Both my parents had great long term memories.
3. Cy:
It’s a toss up between house Baylor and house Rogan. I’d be Magister Examplaria since that’s the direction where my real life follows and I just love the idea of finding patterns like Bern. But, I really would love to have telekinetic powers. I’m from South Jersey (yeah I am all for seceding from NJ since North Jersey is another country.
4. Sheryl:
House Forberg because I love all things law enforcement and justice! U.S.A here.
5. Jenny:
I’d love to be a Aerokinetic & have the ability to fly without my plane (I’m a pilot in my day job). Maybe a touch of regular telekinesis or hopper abilities to overcome my absolute forgetfulness. For the house, probably Rogan- I’ve been military long enough, time to go private.
6. Amber Kahil:
House Forsberg (Hoppers)- It would be amazing to be able to compress space and jump through to another part of the world…. Shopping in Paris today anyone? Vineyards in Italy? Also, they specialize in preventing corporate espionage and that sounds like interesting work.
I live in Houston, Texas
7. Nancy:
House Sherwood. I would have my own disaster recovery business and contract to House Baylor and House Rogan (and everyone else;) as a plant mage going in to repair the landscaping after the house-caused disasters occur. (I’m in USA)
8. Kin:
I’d love to be in House Baylor, probably by marriage because my power would be “Harmonizer”. Because it is such a common power it wouldn’t be sought after by any Houses specifically, unless my biological relatives had more rare abilities they wanted. House Baylor doesn’t seem to care about that. (I live in the USA)
9. Rebecca B
I would like to be a levitator for house Baylor. They are a new house with a variety of talents and could benefit from a levitator. I love the family and they are still real people, not a prideful house who believe they are entitled to all they can reap. What up fabulous series! But then, everything the Ilona Andrews team creates is amazing !
10. Irina:
International Romania
I would love to be able to fly, so a telekinetic from House Rogan!
11. Katerina:
House Rogan because TK is a power i always wanted to have!
Greece here.
12. Jane Lee:
I would love to be in House Harrison as an Animal Mage being able to communicate with animals would be my idea of heaven. I’m from Tasmania Australia.
13. Daiszy Baraka:
I would love to be in House Harcourt and be a Summoner. Arcane magic sounds cool and mysterious and i would love to summon interesting (by that i mean destructive) things. Hi i’m from Kenya, Africa.
Congratulations to the 13 names & comments listed above! You will be contacted by me personally in the next few days to get further information regarding shipping & delivery.

OMG I actually won something ? *clears throat* I’d like to thank the random number generator who graciously picked my comment. My husband, in advance, for his understanding of the full day (at least) he will not see me when I receive this ARC and finally Ilona and Gordon for their imagination and talent in creating these wonderful worlds and characters. Also, world peace ✌?…. because you’re always supposed to add that right? ?

CONGRATULATIONS Amber!!! Great acceptance speech, too. Especially the “world peace” line…reminded me of the early US pageant winners….or was it from an SNL skit or other parody about award winners speeches… *giggle*

Yes, I think the world-peace-pageant-joke was from the movie Miss Congeniality. I loved it too!

Congratulations to all the winners ❣
Anecdotal PS: I was tempted to check the winners’s post numbers to guess a possible pattern from the generator… but last time i checked there was above 3,000 comments. I was also tempted to post more than once (which I am not proud to admit, but such an underhanded idea did cross my mind) to post from different e-mail adresses (again I didn’t, but I was really really tempted to try to compensate my bad luck nature, because I’ve never won a contest for a book and I’ve tried them a lot) and a long etcetera. In conclusion, I did not won but I am glad to have participated, and I’m thankful for the chance. I am fortunate in other areas of my life, so I’ll just wait for my copy to arrive on release day 🙂 To everybody who bothered to read my rumblings, we’ll always have the post-release thread to share theories, comments and feelings, at leisure.
Serious PS: Could we have a thread to read the BDH recommendations of movies besides books? I recommended a few in the “I’m so mad” thread (“Tantsy Nasmert” and “Zashchitniki”, if you are interested), and I’ll love to read other’s suggestions.
Amanda Gower says
i concur on the BDH recommendations of movies besides books? i could benefit from the recommendations although sadly i would not be helpful as i havent watched anything in a long time thats worth mentioning.
Lels says
Yeah, I was wondering also if it was possible to cheat (very briefly!!!) and like post multiple comments or Something… Is it possible? 🙂 lol
Breann says
For what it’s worth, I never win anything either, but I have recently won a few books off of Goodreads! Some of the books have thousands of entries with only a few copies, but some (I’m thinking new authors? ) have 100 copies available and only a couple hundred entries. There’s more Kindle books, but there’s also print books too.
(I feel like maybe I shouldn’t put this out there because now I’m probably lowering my chances for future books, but everyone besides me probably already knew about this anyway! ?)
Good luck! ?
Cristina says
Hello, I’ve tried that method without luck as well ? Thank you anyway ??♀️
Breann says
Well, shoot. Maybe that just means that your saving all your luck up for something really big, like a jackpot! ?

Congrats,
I didn’t win and so I had nothing else to do but click free fiction again and re-read short stories (everything else is re-read too many times already)
I really wish “Gerard Demille and Helen Meet” were to become a full length story. The premise is amazing.

Congratulations to all — happy reading! Incidentally, I came across the following review at BookBub, dated five days ago. It appears this reader is happy, too:
Carysa Locke
Author
@CarysaLocke
Sapphire Flames
Ilona Andrews
I received this ARC yesterday afternoon. I meant to read a few chapters last night, but I ended up staying up WAY too late because I could not put it down. These authors never disappoint. I knew this continuation of the Hidden Legacy series was going to be excellent, because everything Andrews writes is, but they have truly outdone themselves.
A few years have passed since we last saw these characters, and now Catalina is the Head of her House, Nevada having married Rogan. In the time since we’ve seen her, she’s grown into the role, receiving mentorship from Rogan’s mother and Linus Duncan, two formidable Primes who are each in their way experts at dealing with the elites of their society. Catalina can now easily fit in with other powerful Primes, and she can handle the many dangerous and violent situations that she and her House will find themselves in. She’s definitely come into her own, although pieces of the unsure, socially shy young girl we first met are still in there.
She takes her responsibilities as head of her House extremely seriously, and she does things a little differently than Nevada did. Things get complicated when the only real “girlfriend” she has suffers a personal tragedy that looks more like murder than an accident, and Baylor Investigations agrees to take the case.
Enter Alessandro, Catalina’s childhood crush, Italian billionaire Prime playboy…or is he? There is a lot of mystery surrounding Alessandro, but one thing is sure: he is every bit as dangerous as Rogan was, in his own way. He’s also on a mission of his own, one that for now, coincides with Catalina’s. The two of them have to work together and it’s clear from the moment they meet again that Catalina is NOT over him, and he is definitely still interested in her. I don’t want to say more about how this progresses because I don’t like spoiling people in my reviews, but suffice to say: the next book cannot come soon enough!
I have a book hangover this morning, and it’s not just from staying up most of the night to read. It’s also because this book was so amazing, and I can’t stop thinking about it, about these characters, and where the story will take them next.
As usual, all of the side characters were every bit as engaging and interesting as the main characters. Highlights: a tiny thread that will likely become more involving Catalina’s Mom, Leon’s ever evolving brand of….sociopathy? Returning favorites, even if only for small glimpses, and of course, Grandma Freda. There is also a very interesting development regarding Catalina’s relationship with one of her two mentors that has me wondering some things, but again, spoilers, so I won’t speculate here.
Just trust me: read this book! If you’re a fan of Ilona Andrews, it’s amazing, one of her stand out best. If you’ve never read one of hers before, start now! I recommend picking up Burn for Me and going from there. You won’t be disappointed.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Action-packedEntertainingGreat world buildingPage-turnerWittyWonderful characters

? More please ??
Gailk says
Hi :I am Gailk one of the winners and I got the book. My birthday is next week and this is an great present. I think I won because my mom who passed away a few years ago influenced the generator. We both loved to read and this is a present from her. My heart still aches , I miss her.
I started the book , it is everything you expect from Ilona Andrews . They have such high standards and this exceeds them. I won’t say anything specific. I want you to enjoy every page. But it’s Thrilling, funny, complicated and Catalina ‘s story. You need to take time off when you get your copy. You won’t be able to put it down. I wish it was August 27 for everyone .
Hidden Legacy continues!!!
Cristina says
I’m glad won a copy. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes ??
