“Why am I barking? Because I gets pets when I bark … duh!”
Same with my cats (sans the barking — more headbutting and stomping back and forth across keyboard). The get a pet and a skritch before they are moved out of the way
LW says
One of my cats was a talker — and would give me in particular her hourly cat report, especially if I had moved to a different room for a little while… “meow, mer, me, mep, meiou”.
As a senior cat she went mostly deaf… “MEOW, MER, MEE, MEERR, MEOU, MEOW!!”
Shawna of the BDH says
Who’s barking in the background and setting her off?
DragonLukim says
now my dogs are barking.
Kristi says
And it’s 9000 degrees outside and you can’t kindly invite Sookie to sing her lovely song outside, to share with the world.
Colleen says
hahaha I had to stop the video because one of my dogs wanted to start barking listening to Sookie..
Carolyn says
Ya’ll, it’s hard to be a boxer. So hard.
Moderator R says
🙂 Sookie is an Old British Bulldog – or Ye Olde Brittishe Buldogge if you prefer hehe.
Debra says
My old dog does that as soon as I get on the phone – in my face whining, wanting my attention. I just want to talk to my mother, but no, she doesn’t share. If someone was here in person she’d be hanging on them and ignoring me.
Teri says
A little needy today? Seems like she needs attention.
Finula says
That’s my 18 year old orange tabby. Sits in front of me.
Meow. Do you want food? Get food. Doesn’t want food. Put food away, because she won’t eat it unless it is fresh from the container.
Meow. Do you want water? Get water. Looks pointedly away from water. Put water away because ditto.
Meow Do you want petting? Pet cat.
Meow. Finally give up, set aside computer. Do you want to sit on my lap?
Cat leaves, her mission is accomplished.

Watching a live broadcast with a pug named Chaps was like diving into the world of positivity. His cheerfulness and cheerful disposition are simply contagious. Seeing him running and interacting merrily was incredibly uplifting. It seems that through the screen you can feel his friendliness and warmth. Such moments remind us how precious wildlife is in all its manifestations, even in funny and selflessly joyful moments.

Sweet ol’ girl needs to make sure you don’t forget what’s important. petting her.
Kristi says
Played this and had to turn it off — you can tell Sookie that my two dogs are joining her song.
Michelle McLoughlin says
be grateful she’s still with you ❤️ my girl and her house shaking snores joined her mate over the Rainbow Bridge this week. 13 years gone in a heartbeat.
Ann says
I am sorry that you lost your girl.
Jazzlet says
I am so sorry, it is our last act of love for them, but as long as you remember her those thirteen years haven’t gone.
jewelwing says
Very sorry for your loss. They are worth every tear and heartache though.
Ann says
My neighbors have dogs and fosters one or two. When one decides to bark or howl they all join in. They usually do it during the day and the neighbors always apologize but, I have learned to tune them out. Of course it is easier because they aren’t sitting next to me. Your girl obviously hears something that needs to be scared off. She thinks that you need to give her treats.

oh boy
Gloria Magid says
I could ‘t play the whole thing , because once Suki started, my dog Max started barking g and running g around looking for the dogs! Funny, but loud!!

He’s adorable!!
laura says
my dog is part husky, and she has a lot to say. we have conversations every day. they usually go something like this:
“aroo roo roo roo”
“oh really?”
“roorooroo”
“you don’t say!”
“ROOROOROO”
“my goodness! i had no idea!”
“arooooorooroo”
“oh its like that is it?”
“woof!”
“ok then.”
and after that she was usually good, but somedays she has even more to say. and occasionally when i have guests, she’ll come and start barking while we’re talking, like she’s trying to be part of the conversation. or maybe because our attention isnt on her (as it should be).
Callie says
Poor Sookie. My doggos do this when there’s a skunk in the neighbourhood.
Tiger Lily says
My pit mix is howling in sympathy.
Catlover says
You were gone for a week, it’s catch up time! Expect no peace until she has had her say, multiple times, because those strangers at the kennel were not her people.
Fran says
My dog heard her on the clip and came over to see what was going on. DRAMA apparently!
Sechat says
I’m barking for you to pet me!
MerryB says
Oh, dear! It looks like Sookie wants cuddles
Sew Kitty says
I’m truly sorry for you, however those of us who have or have had talkative pets totally relate. We are laughing ourselves silly!
Clara says
Laughing at all the silly pet stories. My dog used to bark at nothing in the middle of the night. Seeing as it’s the Hungry Ghost Month, they could be seeing things that we hoo-mans can’t. I prefer just barking stupidly cos I can’t deal with the alternative.
Briana says
and then mine joined in the song!
Deven says
i showed my husband because THIS IS OUR LIFE. Which started off a chain reaction around the house as the fur babies joined in the chorus of their people.
guys… do you even know why you are barking?!
Katherine Coynor says
i have to give my younger cat Amitriptyline or he will yowl all day long. I’m seriously considering making him an indoor/outdoor cat.
Rebecca says
Our senior dog does the same thing. He goes into the backyard and barks at…nothing. When he comes back in we ask if he scared away all the boogers. He seems so pleased with himself.
Adela says
Sookie, meet Babbit.
