Double post today, but this is a limited time opportunity and I didn’t want anyone to miss out if they are interested.
Stephanie Burgis is doing a kickstarter for the audio edition for Good Neighbors. If you’ve never read her before, she writes magical regency, fantasy romance, and YA. I am a fan. Her stories are warm and sweet and leave you feeling better about the world.
Stephanie just added two chances for a Zoom chat with her and her agent, Molly Ker Hawn of the Bent Agency. It’s the highest level reward, but if you wanted to pick a literary agent’s brain, it’s an excellent chance for a one on one.

I hope another excellent opportunity like this one comes up when I am financially positioned to jump in with both feet. This is a rare chance to have a one-to-one Master Class with renouned and talented women in the publishing field.
Congratulations to the lucky fans that snapple up this prize!

I haven’t read any of Stephanie’s works before. What’s the one you recommend starting with?

With the caveat that I haven’t read her middle grade fiction, if you’re looking for:
Spooky Halloween vibes: Good Neighbors
Regency fantasy with the fae and flipped gender roles: Snowspelled
Regency romcom but add dragons: Scales and Sensibility
Tink says
Thanks!

All of which are SO much fun! And don’t forget:
The Dragon with a Chocolate Heart series, a delightful YA fantasy about family (born and found) and of course, chocolate
The Raven Heir, a YA adventure of triplets, a contested throne, nasty relatives, and magic

All of which are SO much fun! The middle-grade series (which I also love) are:
The Dragon with a Chocolate Heart series, a delightful fantasy about family (born and found) and of course, chocolate
The Raven Heir, an adventure of triplets, a contested throne, nasty relatives, and magic
Kat Incorrigible, Regency-era young wizard, hijinks and growing up

Thank you; I will check her out. I think it was you all who recommended Justina Ireland; I read her cyberpunk/zombie apocalypse novel Dread Nation last week, and it was really fun.

Also a fan! Especially of Good Neighbors and the Kat Stephenson books. Definitely recommend as a lovely palate cleanser between anything angsty you might be reading.
Thanks for the heads up, Ilona!

I love her books too! ‘Good Neighbors’ is specially cute!!!
Jerrica says
Does she write kids books, too? Because I think I’ve only read middle grade fantasy books (with dragons) by her. I had no idea she also wrote adult novels.
Virginia says
Yes, both

I haven’t read any of her books, but they look fun! I bought some to try and recommended some others to my library. They look like they will be good to get into the Halloween spirit with. ???? Thanks for the recommendation! ????

I enjoyed “Snow-Spelled” and “Scales and Sensibility”, but really loved “Good Neighbors”. I want more stories featuring those characters. I love how grumpy the heroine is.

Thanks for the Stephanie Burgis tip off!! I foolishly downloaded a book last night, believing I could resist its lure till the weekend … then stayed up till 1am this morning reading, slept a few hours and off to work. Worth it for a bit of escapism! ???????????? Now to ????????????????
