How is Kid 1?
She is much better, thank you. They gave her a stronger antibiotic and the infection is clearing up slowly. She had four wisdom teeth removed, why one got infected nobody knows, but I am just grateful she can finally eat something.
How is Hugh’s photoshoot?
I don’t know. We were there for the first hour or so, then we bailed, because I didn’t trust myself not to ruin it by micromanaging everything. Gene Mollica is amazing and what we saw of it looked great. As soon as we can get something to share, I will.
How is the house selling going?
It’s going.
The fence?
The fence is partially fixed. One part left, and then hopefully we will be in good shape.
Kate 10?
Merging the beta feedback into the manuscript today. It’s not my favorite part of the book writing, because like copy edits, it forces us to make a series of small decisions. After a couple of hours of it, I pretty much enter the brain fog of doom and want to burn the file. Except I can’t.
Hidden Legacy?
We are in talks with Avon. You will know when I can tell you something.
And that’s it for Monday. 😀
Bookworm says
Although I don’t have to make the same decisions that you do, I completely sympathize with the entering the brain fog portion of making decisions and then wanting to burn your document. Lol. So glad to hear that Kid 1 is doing better. Thanks for giving us an update and may you have a joyful Monday and wonderful rest of the week!!
MaryH says
Thank you for the update. Fingers crossed for your talks and wishing you lots of whatever you need for stress relief for the edits.

Same here! Hidden Legacy 4 is my #1 book wish for 2018-2019 <3 <3 <3
PadawaNita says
All best to you and yours! Glad Kid 1’s infection is coming around. My Kid 2 had all four out in one shot at 18, and while he didn’t have an infection, it was still pretty traumatic for him. We feel you! Hang in there. Monday is one step closer to (insert a day coming up that you will enjoy a really lot here). 🙂 Thank you, once again, for sharing with us. the BDH.

Thank you for touching base with us. I’m so glad Kid 1 is getting better.

I’m with you on the merging of documents. I’m going through a looong document that someone else was in charge of, and he’s missing so much stuff. And the TYPOS! Arghhh!
When I need a break, I check your blog. Thanks for keeping me sane.

Even hearing that there are talks about Hidden Legacy makes me so happy. I loved that series and cannot freaking wait to read more.

Hidden Legacy yeah. Glad she is feeling better

I read an article recently about “decision fatigue” and how it particularly impacts mothers because of the 6325 small decisions we have to make . . . before breakfast lol. When i have particularly decision-heavy days, my brain turns to mush and I can’t even decide what I’d like to eat for dinner. Hang in there and thanks for the updates!
Simone says
Thanks for all the answers – you are great at keeping us updated. Glad Kid 1 is getting better. The chapter was fantastic.
Kristine says

Having too many choices and decisions to make is rough. But I am not sure that having no decisions to make is much better. Thank you for the updates

HUZZAH for Hidden Legacy!! ^_^

I am relieved to hear that your child is improving and that you are doing well despite being wrenched in many directions at once. Wishing you and yours all the best.
Lastly, I just wanted to say thank you for another outstanding segment of Sweep of the Blade as I am certifiably addicted to your novels (all of them). Even though I enjoy many authors works, of various genres, at this time none compare to you guys. Thank you again.

Thank you for your bottomless well of patience with us. Very glad to hear Kid 1 is on the mend.
Hopefully all the remaining Kate 10 issues will flow along and be done.
And, I join the chorus on being thankful for talks with Avon on HL.
Hugs.

Just a comment on possible reason for the infection. Our old dentist was really good about explaining things and he said that with any type of dental surgery that involves roots and extractions, the length of time the procedure takes is relevant.
If the procedure takes about 45 minutes, your chance of dry sockets is maybe 50%. If the procedure lasts longer than than an hour, the chances of dry sockets increases to 75% or better. He said it didn’t matter how clean or perfect the procedure.
I’m guessing with 4 wisdom teeth, Kid 1 was probably there for longer an hour.
As a side note, he was also a forensic odontologist which made for very interesting conversations. ?
Lynn says
Yes, Lisa. I had to have my wisdom teeth sectioned out because they were coming in wrong. What was most memorable to my family was the adverse reaction I had about 30 minutes thru the procedure. It was first time I had ever undergone General anesthesia so I did not know that I had a problem with. I lost 4 days (as in no memories) but incision sites healed properly in time. Kid 1 is lucky she had a good dental team and family.
sarafina says
I looked at Gene Mollica’s website. So, did you get the premier package of 3 covers or just the single?
DianainCa says
Glad to know your daughter is feeling better. There is always a sense of relief when a loved one takes a turn for better.
Good luck with the home stuff and book stuff.
Lynn says
Thanks. Ilona Andrews for update. Also ch 4 of Maud and Helen’s story made my Monday a much better day than it was. Yes I saw the typos but I enjoyed the story too much to get hung up on typos.
My youngest sib now emails me from her kindle like device. I sent her a stylus pen for Xmas hoping to fix the typos and incorrect wordage. Sigh. She says it is the beep beep [beep is politically correct G rated word versus words she actually used] auto correct.
Thanks for the story.
Patricia Schlorke says
Thank you for the salad update. Hooray for more Hidden Legacy books! ?
Hope the rest of your week goes well. Also, thanks for more of Maud and Helen.

Glad your daughter is getting better. A painful experience. It’s also hard being a parent and seeing your child suffer.

Kate 10 is complete and you’re talking to Avon YAY!. Hope that goes well – fingers crossed –
Also, re-reading Clean Sweep I became curious of Lord Soren other daughter, are we going to meet Karat’s sister in Maud’s story? (Lady Renadra*)
By the way I LOOOVED those chitin bluish aliens. They may fight with the Hiru for “most cool aliens” in the Innkeeper universe as this story develops.
* Quote: “If Soren is removed, his assets and control of his troops pass to Renadra. She’s young and doesn’t have the seniority, so under normal circumstances she would likely support whatever decision the leadership of the House makes, but she also adores her father, so (…) she would seek retribution. Her maternal grandmother is the Blood Archimandrite of the Crimson Abbey. (…) Renadra is the only female grandchild she has and she is very fond of her. She would grant her this favor. The Archimandrite would bless this war.”
Marianne says
So glad to hear Kid 1 is improving! That is by far the most important of the lot. I hope she continues to improve quickly & that the one wisdom tooth removed that she had problems with doesn’t cause her any more. ?

Glad to hear that things are getting better and chugging along, albeit slowly. Decision fatigue is a thing, so I hope that you can take time to breathe and clear out the mental cruft.

Hidden Legacy news makes me so happy! (As does the Kate 10 update!)
Hope kid 1 has a speedy recovery – I remember getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed at once, and even without infection, it sucked.
