Ruby Fever hit all the lists and sold all the copies.

#10 on USAT

#12 on NYT

#2 WSJ in ebook and #8 in fiction overall

Thank you so much, guys. The lists were hard to crack this time because many awesome books came out at once, but our sales are up, and the publisher is very happy.

The team at Avon sent us these gorgeous flowers.

No worries about the lilies. Our cats ignore them and this spot.

Thank you to Erika, Kelly, DJ, and the entire Avon team who worked so hard to make this release a success, and most of all, thank you for reading it. BDH is the most amazing group of readers, and all the other authors should be green with envy. 🙂

Also congratulations to the incomparable Beverly Jenkins whose To Catch a Raven shares a book birthday with Ruby Fever and made USAToday!

Now onto other things. We have a firm draft date we have to meet for the Innkeeper, so we will be digging into it in the next few weeks. You might see more story posts but less personal posts until we are done. It’s crunch time. As Tim Gunn once said, “Time to rally!”

    If anyone complains about extra story posts, bless their heart. There’s not much else you can do for someone like that.

    I hope you take some more time for yourselves as well. I just kind of screwed up next year’s vacation reservation, because I was in the wrong headspace and chose in haste. If I’d taken more time to breathe, a better opportunity probably would have showed up. We’ll still have a great time but this is a real lesson for me. Take as much time as you need and get things right.

  20. I read the german rdition “Rubinglut”, it was released yesterday. The Book was really awesome. And the German Edition came only 1 week later that the English one.

Loved the book and have been re-reading the series I have a question I hope someone can answer I have been looking for the short when Nevada gives birth but the short segment in Ruby was can’t find it in the series or in my anthologies if you know where it is please let me know as I really want to read it again I remember it being amusing thanks all

  34. Good to know thsy ignore it, my cat doesnt ignore plants… Sadly.

    Just in vase you didnt know, the plant next to it is poisonous to cats as well. Its a dracaena type right? I got the same one. It stays alive and survives me, which is something. Yay.

    • Mel, that plant looks more like a Pothos, Ivy shaped leaves, rather than a dracena with long slender leaves. Pothos are irritants to humans and probably to other animals also. They have needle shaped crystals that cut into your mouth.

      • Ohh whoops you are right, i confused the names.

        I got a cat that nibbles on every plant, even that one sadly, so its way out of reach. On top of a shelf, but a beauty to have.

    I haven’t read Ruby Fever yet because I am in the middle of an Innkeeper series re-read, but I did my bit for your numbers by reserving a copy at my independent bookseller and then buying it as soon as it arrived.

    Then I went to Amazon and bought the whole Hidden Legacy series on Kindle to supplement my tatty paper copies. And also rounded out my Kindle set of Innkeeper books so I have them in paper and ebook formats too. And made a note of which KD and Edge books I have in paper but not Kindle so I can buy them as well later this month… House Andrews is getting to be an expensive habit…

    But as long as you keep writing them, I will keep buying them. I got my sister clued into your books several years ago, and she now buys everything you write too.

    On a personal note Our House is tickled pink. We are part of Clan Duncan. My daughter married into the Duncan branch from near Edinburgh, her husband’s grandfather having last name Duncan. Keeping a family tradition on my side of the family we used his mum’s maiden name as a first name. Hence grandson named Duncan. The icing is that Duncan’s sister is Fiona.
    It is not uncommon to see the names individually, but quite a happy jolt to see them linked.

  77. Best of the Catlina’s books. I had preordered it on audible. It was a difficult wait until release of the audiobook while other readers were already admiring how good it was. And as a humanitarian worker, I was grateful for the donation of some of the gains to UN Refugee Agency.
